Today the British Royal Family celebrated Prince William and Kate Middleton's third child, Prince Louis, at a private christening ceremony which took place at The Chapel Royal of St. James's Palace in London.

Guests included Prince Charles, Duchess Camilla, Kate's parents, her brother and sister and Louis' six godparents, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and more family members (sans Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip) to watch the 11-week-old prince be baptized by the Archbishop of Canterbury.

According to the Royal Family's official website, "following the service, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will give a private tea at Clarence House. Guests will be served slices of christening cake, which is a tier taken from The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge’s wedding cake."

Prince Louis' christening followed several Royal Family traditions, from the use of the historic Lily Font he was christened in which was commissioned by Queen Victoria and Prince Albert in 1840 after the birth of their first child, to the christening robe made in 1841 that he wore for the ceremony.

The young prince, watched on by his older brother George and sister Charlotte, was baptized using water from the River Jordan.
