Ariana Grande Responded To Pete Davidson's Recently Resurfaced Manchester Joke

The Pete Davidson and Ariana Grande content continues. Unfortunately, this week's news from the quickly engaged couple isn't exactly as adorable as when Pete got all red in the face talking about Ariana on the Tonight Show, or Ariana dedicating an entire interlude to him on her new album. Instead, the pop singer is responding to a joke Pete made in 2017 about the terrorist attack at her Manchester concert of the same year.

At a stand-up show to benefit Puerto Rico, Pete supposedly joked that Ariana should know how famous she was after Manchester, because "Britney Spears didn't have a terrorist attack at her concert."

One of Ariana's fans expressed her disappointment over the situation on Twitter, prompting her to respond.

"this has been v tough & conflicting on my heart. he uses comedy to help ppl feel better ab how f-ed up things in this world are. we all deal w trauma differently," Grande replied. "I of course didn’t find it funny. it was months ago & his intention wasn’t/ is never malicious but it was unfortunate."

Pete is no stranger to attacks like the one in Manchester, though. His own father was killed in the terrorist attack in New York City on September 11, 2001. He frequently jokes about his situation in his comedy.

The joke about Manchester resurfaced after Charlotte Hodgson, the mother of one of the 22 victims from the terrorist attack, told the Mirror that it was "disgusting."

"We don’t need jokes about it, there have been plenty around, and it’s heartbreaking to hear every day," Hodgson said. "But for someone so famous to be doing it and now to be with Ariana, it’s outrageous. I think she would be horrified too."
