Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Teens Stuck After Being Found Alive In A Flooded Cave In Thailand

Rising floodwaters trapped a teenaged soccer team and their coach in the Tham Luang cave system in Thailand more than a week ago. On Monday evening, all thirteen members of the group were found alive; however, it may be awhile before they can be rescued.

According to CNN, officials are currently planning an extraction, but a number of risky conditions — such as high water levels, heavy rains, and a difficult terrain — are making the process more difficult. Flooding the caves isn't an option either, since some of the boys do not know how to swim.

For now, Thai military sources are planning on sending the group food and having specially trained doctors enter the caves to medically assess everyone. Chiang Rai governor Narongsak Osotthanakon said that power and telephone lines might also be made available to the boys, so they can talk to their parents.

The Death Toll In Quebec Is Rising Amid A Heat Wave

A number of deaths — currently 18— have been linked to the ongoing heat wave in Quebec. The majority have taken place in Montreal, where paramedic services say they've reached the "limit of the capabilities of our services." According to Montreal Mayor Valérie Plante, more than 15,000 people were visisted by first responders yesterday.

The wave began last Friday and is expected to continue. The CBC called it "the worst to hit Quebec in decades."

Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tweeted on Wednesday, sending his thoughts to the loved ones of those who died. He also provided information for people to stay cool.

An Unconscious Couple Was Exposed To A Nerve Agent In The United Kingdom

A man and a woman found unconscious in Amesbury, Wiltshire were reportedly poisoned by the nerve agent Novichok. The couple — Charlie Rowley and Dawn Sturgess — wasn't found far from where Sergei Skripal, an ex-Russian spy, was poisoned — also with Novichok.

The two are currently in critical condition. According to the Metropolitan Police, there was "nothing in their background" that suggested the couple was targeted. Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner Neil Basu said that the Counter Terrorism Policing Network will lead an investigation into the matter, with the help of the Wiltshire Police.

"It is important that the investigation is led by the evidence available and we don't make any assumptions," Basu's statement read in part. As of right now, UK police say there's no risk to the public in the Amesbury area.
