The network that birthed the Bachelor franchise recently debuted its newest reality-romance venture: The Proposal, where bachelors and bachelorettes can’t see each other but ultimately vote to find their (hopefully) person. Following some terrifying allegations, People reports that The Proposal has cut an episode, which would have been its second episode in the entity of the series’ short history.
The Hollywood Reporter notes that ABC canceled the episode after Erica Denae Meshke claimed Michael J. Friday, a contestant on The Proposal, attempted to plan for her to be sexually assaulted back in November. We’re not sure what’s more disturbing about these allegations: the crime behind the accusations themselves or that Friday allegedly attempted to coordinate a pre-meditated sexual assault on another person.
According to BuzzFeed, Meshke claims that she initially met Friday on Tinder and planned to meet him at an undisclosed apartment. However, Friday allegedly left Meshke alone at that apartment where she had her drink allegedly spiked. Meshke tells BuzzFeed that in Friday’s absence, the two men allegedly assaulted her.
We hope that ABC’s officials will look into this issue during The Proposal’s absence so that Meshke can get the clarity she deserves after this alleged trauma.
