President Trump announced on Monday that he has officially signed off on the creation of America’s “space force” to, well, protect us in space.
According to Reuters, the force would be part of the sixth branch of the US military. It is unclear as to whether or not Trump will actually succeed in creating a “space force”. If it is officially created, the Air Force would most likely give up its space duties, which includes preparing for war up in space and protecting US satellites from harm Vox reports.
“We are going to have the Air Force and we are going to have the Space Force: separate but equal, it is going to be something so important,” Trump said during a meeting of his National Space Council.
Some think there might be a strong case for space, and the main reasons for that is Russia and China. According to the Defense Intelligence Agency, Russia is looking to gain more power in space to possibly gain supremacy on future fights on this planet. China in 2015 developed the Strategic Support Force to streamline and improve their space, cyber and electronic warfare missions. Both countries are also creating problems with anti-satellite technology, Dan Coats Director of National Intelligence noted last May. This means that the countries could mess with the satellites that help the US military to its job.
Space Force is currently trending on Twitter, as so many people have so many feelings on Trump's decision.
There are currently children who are locked in cages, and you are focused on #spaceforce.

Trump's creation of a Space Force = Trump seeing that 68% of Americans are against HIS change in immigration policy, and, saying, "Uh, hey, um, uh, hey - look over here - spacemen!!"

Excuse me, while we laugh.
Do you have any idea of the looks and whispers going on at the Pentagon today? I can tell you with absolute certainty that Dear Leader's Space Force idea is being torn to shreds among gales of laughter and cursing. They are professionals and this is Comic-Con fanboy stuff.

Too True!
Remember, we can't afford universal healthcare.
or clean water in many cities.
or school supplies in public schools.
or body cams for every cop.
But we can afford to implement a 6th military branch, Space Force.

Does Trump want a Death Star?
Donald Trump is causing hell on earth and now he wants to create a Space Force? Someone should ask him, how many planets do you plan on ruining at a time?

Previous administrations have toyed around with the idea of a space branch before. Last year, there was a congressional push to jump start the creation of the new service, according to CNN. Though, Congress rejected the idea all together. Even now he doesn’t have much support for it. Congress would need to authorize the development of the so-called "space force" service, just like it did in 1947 with the creation of the Air Force.
