American Horror Story: Coven is returning from the grave, just as its famed character Madison Montgomery did before delivering her iconic, "Surprise, bitch" line. Ryan Murphy confirmed on Thursday that the eighth season of FX's American Horror Story will be a crossover of previous seasons Coven and Murder House.
Murphy has teased the idea of a crossover season before; however, he previously said that it would likely take place in season nine. Thankfully, AHS fans won't have to wait. Now, they're just holding out hope that some of the show's famed actors from seasons one and three will return.
The Coven/Murder House AHS crossover season won't be happening next year...because it's happening THIS YEAR. AHS #8 WITCHES RULE THIS SEPTEMBER

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, and Adina Porter — stars who have all been with the show since season one — are confirmed for the new season. There's no news on fan favorites like Jessica Lange and Taissa Farmiga, but the initial reason Murphy couldn't have season eight serve as the crossover was because not all of the actors were available. Hopefully, that changed!
Other actors set to return include Kathy Bates, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, and Leslie Grossman. Paulson and Peters will also make their directorial debuts.
Well I am VERY excited to be a part of this one ... https://t.co/sbE8nGLhTN
