The 'Bachelorette's' Garrett Yrigoyen *Finally* Apologized for Those Problematic Insta Posts

ICYMI, Bachelorette contestant Garrett Yrigoyen (who, spoiler alert, is rumored to make it *pretty far* this season), was the subject of some controversy after it was discovered that he'd previously liked a bunch of, um, questionable Instagram posts that made fun of trans people, undocumented immigrants, left-wing women and spread a conspiracy theory about one of the Parkland shooting survivors.

The posts were first discovered by former Bachelor contestant Ashley Spivey, and let's just say they were not a good look:

While Garrett originally responded to the controversy with the excuse that his account had been hacked (which, TBH, kinda seemed to be a cop-out), he posted a lengthy Instagram on Thursday evening to his new account in which he apologized for the situation, saying he "did not mean any harm."

"I am not the negative labels people are associating me with," he said in the post. "I do not want my social media to define who I am, and I will take better care moving forward to support all walks of life."

While the apology is a start, we're definitely left wondering just how much of the hateful content Garrett actually agrees with — because while differing political views are one thing, intolerance, sexism and transphobia are another. And if this is really how he feels about women, minorities and LGBTQ people, we're going to have to pass on rooting for him for the final rose.
