How many times have you gotten stuck in a boring conversation or awkward situation and wished you had an excuse to leave? Thanks to this handy new app, you'll have the perfect exit strategy.
The app, called This Is Your Out, is designed to send a fake call to your phone with the push of a button so that you have a good excuse to get out of any situation, whether it's being cornered by a Chatty Kathy or suffering through a bad first date.
"There [are] certain people you just can't tell to screw off,"said TIYO founder Ivan Lukianchuk. "Say you have a co-worker, you really can't stand them, but you have to be nice because you see them every day and they're best friends with your boss ... You either have to grin and bear it or find a way out." That's where This Is Your Out comes in.
If you find yourself in a situation that you need to get out of, simply press the button to call your phone (you can even customize the caller ID). Then, when you pick up the incoming call, the app will give you a script to read aloud to make it sound like you're having a real conversation (one that requires your immediate exit).
TIYO, which is expected to arrive in February, costs $35 (for the button) and comes with 25 different calls. To help make this app a reality, Lukianchuk created an Indiegogo campaign to fund the project. As of today, he has raised over $3,000 of the $100,000 goal.
