If you were looking for an empowering summer anthem, Christina Aguilera and Demi Lovato just delivered one.
Earlier this morning, Aguilera shared her new single “Fall In Line,” which she collaborated on with Lovato. The single, which is the third from Aguilera’s upcoming album Liberation, channels many of the sentiments of the #MeToo movement with lyrics like, “It’s just the way it is/And maybe it’s never gonna change/But I got a mind to show my strength/And I got a right to speak my mind.”
It seems like these two vocal powerhouses were destined to collaborate at some point, and E! News reports that the collaboration has been a long time coming. “I did a collaboration with one of my biggest idols. I can’t give away who it is yet, but you’ll find out soon,” Lovato told Billboard in February. Aguilera seemed equally as excited to work with Lovato saying, “I almost cried when I first heard her [Lovato] on the record.”
Liberation drops on June 15—but if you can’t wait until then, you can check out Aguilera and Lovato’s performance during this Sunday’s Billboard Music Awards, airing on NBC.
