When I was a kid, I wanted to be Kim Possible. As an adult, I bought green army pants and have worn them with a long sleeved black shirt just so I could come close to being Kim Possible. But there is one lucky girl who will get to be Kim Possible more than any of us have ever been Kim Possible before (except Christy Carlson Romano herself).
The 2000s Disney Channel series is being adapted into a live-action DCOM set to come out in 2019, and fans had been buzzing over the news ever since it was announced, with some even dreaming up their own fantasy cast.
So what’s the sitch? Well, Disney Channel has finally revealed its new Kim Possible, and her name is Sadie Stanley!
Sadie is a 16-year-old YouTuber from South Carolina, and the folks at Disney are excited to see her in action. Judy Taylor, vice president of casting and talent relations, told Variety, “Sadie delivers Kim’s confidence, smarts, and agility; most importantly, she’s an everyday girl with an extraordinary spirit.”
The Ron Stoppable to Sadie’s Kim will be played by 18-year-old Sean Giambrone, who stars on ABC’s The Goldbergs. (Having seen the show, I know he’s already got Ron’s endearing awkwardness down.)
I’m glad Disney didn’t listen to casting suggestions on the internet and decided to use lesser-known actors, especially ones who are actually teenagers. They’re really going to seem true to the Kim and Ron we know and love.

I still have a lot of questions, though. Who’s playing Wade, the man in the computer? Will green flame-throwing badass Shego be making an appearance in the movie? And will we see a resurrection of Rufus’ Naked Mole Rap?
