In a recent interview with Business of Fashion, Kim Kardashian West recalls the time she almost applied to be on MTV's Real World.
Long before Keeping Up With the Kardashians, Kim spent her days working for her father, Robert Kardashian Sr., and admits that even back then she had dreams of becoming famous.
"I had worked in my dad's office for so many years, but I didn't have a career and I didn't love college. I went [for] four years but I didn’t graduate. I just sat there and I was like, 'What am I going to do?'" she said. "When I was really young I always was—it's the weirdest thing, but I loved Real World. And I would say to my best friend's dad who was a manager, 'You should be my manager! And when we're 18, I'm going to send a tape into Real World because I have to be on a reality show.'"
"Like, that's it! It clicked," she continued. "This is what I want to do. And then the producers that produced Real World produced [KUWTK], so it kind of all came full circle."
As Kardashian fans may know, KUWTK wasn’t Kim's first exposure to the world of reality TV. During her journey to fame and fortune, she appeared on The Simple Life, which starred Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie, as Hilton's assistant and once appeared on MTV’s The Hills.
Now we don't know whether Kim would have become more famous had she starred on Real World, but with her current state of fame and fortune, I'm assuming she's pretty happy with the way everything turned out.
