After Cardi B’s conspicuous wardrobe choice at the iHeart Radio Awards last month, we’ve all been waiting to see when and if Cardi B would reveal her baby bump. Thankfully, she didn’t keep us on a cliffhanger for long, because she showed off her bump in her elegant white dress, during her Saturday Night Live appearance. As Cardi B’s recently released album, Invasion of Privacy, has us simultaneously bobbing our heads and crying about a breakup from three years ago, Cardi spoke candidly about why she decided against getting an abortion and chose to keep her baby.

During an interview on Charlamagne tha God’s talk show, The Breakfast Club which is affiliated with Power 105.1, Cardi B talked about her pregnancy and entering the world of motherdom. According toPEOPLE, Cardi used the interview to respond to the online strangers, who invaded her privacy by offering unsolicited advice about how motherhood would destroy her career.

After Cardi took some time to address the trolls, E! News notes that she did briefly consider terminating her unplanned pregnancy. Cardi B said on The Breakfast Club that she “kinda, sort of” thought about having an abortion, but ultimately, “[She] just didn’t want to deal with the whole abortion thing.” That’s completely relatable.

Nevertheless, the "Bodak Yellow" rapper told The Breakfast Club that she’s ready and excited to be a mother. “You know what—I’m a grown woman. I’m 25 years old. And it’s just like, ‘You know what? I’m a grown woman. I’m 25 years old. I’m gonna say this in the most humblest way … I’m a schmillionaire, you know what I’m saying? And I’m prepared for this’,” she said.

After all, Cardi B doesn’t believe that women need to feel pressured into choosing between developing their professional career and starting a family. “It just really bothers me and it disgusts me because I see a lot of women online like, ‘Oh I feel sorry for you, oh your career is over,” she noted. “As a woman, why can’t I have both? Why do I gotta choose a career or a baby? Like, why can’t I have both? I want both."

TMZ adds that 2018 is a momentous year for Cardi B. Not only will she become a mother this year and her debut studio album dropped on April 6, but she’ll also be performing at Coachella, and touring with Bruno Mars. While we’re still swiping right to win a free Cardi B concert, we’re definitely more excited to see Belcalis Almanzar (aka Cardi B) become a BA mother. (And we can't wait to see Cardi's baby join her and Bruno Mars on tour.)
