Wildfires in Southern California Have Forced Over 27,000 People to Evacuate
Authorities in Southern California say rapidly-spreading wildfires have destroyed over 50,000 acres of land in Ventura County, California, the Huffington Post reports. So far, more than 27,000 people have been forced to evacuate after the governor declared a state of emergency, and that number could continue to rise as powerful winds of up to 70 miles per hour continue to blow. Thankfully, no deaths have been reported, but the fires have destroyed 150 buildings and caused 250,000 homes to be without power.

Patagonia Is Suing President Trump Over His Executive Order Reducing National Monuments
Outdoor brand Patagonia has said that it plans to sue President Trump following his executive order that will drastically reduce the size of two national monuments in Utah, the Washington Post says. Following the Trump administration's announcement on Monday that it plans to cut government protection of over two million acres of national parks, the company's founder is fighting back. Patagonia's website now features a homepage that reads, "The president stole your land. This is the largest elimination of protected land in American history." Patagonia is already known for its environmental activism, releasing an ad earlier this year about the importance of preserving national parks.

Instagram's Newest Feature Allows You to Keep Your Story Up for More Than 24 Hours
If you've ever been bummed that you forgot to save that cute Insta story of you and your besties from a night out before time ran out, you're going to love Instagram's newest feature. The app just rolled out new "Stories Archive" and "Stories Highlights" features that allow you to privately save your favorite moments (kind of like Snapchat's "Memories") and publicly highlight stories you want to keep on your profile for more than 24 hours — a total game-changer.
