Just when I thought Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth couldn't get any cuter, they go and spend a romantic weekend in the place where their relationship began. The lovebirds have been hanging out on Tybee Island in Savannah, Georgia, where they filmed Nicolas Sparks' The Last Song in 2009, the Daily Mail reports. As the couple strolled the streets, rode some jet skis and reminisced on where they first met, I could only focus on one thing: the matching jewelry on *that* finger.
As PEOPLE reports, the pair have been sporting the bands (the outlet calls them "promise rings") for some time, but they haven't gotten married yet. While the couple was engaged once before in 2012, it seems that their on-again, off-again romance, Miley's temporary identity crisis, and the years they spent apart have encouraged them to do things a little differently this time.
In September, Miley admitted that she and her beau have yet to make any serious wedding plans. As she told The Sun on Sunday newspaper, "I don't envision marriage. I'm 24. I hope I get to live a little bit more. I have too much living to do [before I get married]." The singer continued, "Three years ago, if you'd asked me if I'd be here, this happy with this man, I'd have been stunned. I'm just riding this out. In some relationships, you lose yourself by being with someone else. Actually, it made me find myself more. I have no idea what the next three years will bring, but if it's possible to get even happier, I'll take it."
As much as fans would love to see the pair make their happy ending official, it looks like it's going to be a while before anyone says "I do." But if their promise rings signify anything, it's that Miley and Liam's relationship is stronger than ever.
