Actress Rose McGowan found herself suspended from Twitter Wednesday night for tweets regarding the Harvey Weinstein scandal. McGowan, who was revealed as one of Weinstein's victims in the New York Times article that exposed the producer's decades of harassment, has been vocal about Weinstein since the news broke.
In one of her tweets, she also called out actor Ben Affleck, telling him to "f--k off." McGowan claimed Affleck knew of Weinstein's actions all along. (Affleck has been at the center of his own groping controversy this week.)

McGowan was suspended from Twitter for 12 hours. She took to Instagram after being notified of her suspension. "There are powerful forces at work," she wrote. McGowan also asked her followers to help carry on the message and share their voices.
Twitter users were outraged over McGowan's suspension, with many wondering why a woman speaking out about sexual harassment was blocked when many users who spew hate speech are not.

On Thursday, the social media platform sent out a tweet explaining that McGowan was suspended for sharing a private phone number in one of her tweets and her account had been unlocked after the tweet was deleted.
McGowan's voice is helpful for women and men in and out of Hollywood that have been victims of sexual assault. More power to Rose for refusing to stay silent.
