On Thursday, Julia Louis-Dreyfus bravely shared on Twitter that she's been diagnosed with breast cancer.

Her statement read, "1 in 8 women get breast cancer. Today, I'm the one. The good news is that I have the most glorious group of supportive and caring family and friends, and fantastic insurance through my union. The bad news is that not all women are so lucky, so let's fight all cancers and make universal health care a reality."

Since her announcement, many high-profile figures have shown their support. Former Vice President Joe Biden is among those who reached out to the Veep actress. Biden tweeted a picture of him and Louis-Dreyfus with the caption, "We Veeps stick together. Jill and I, and all of the Bidens, are with you, Julia."

Throughout his political career, Biden has advocated for increased resources for cancer research and care, and he's long offered his political and personal support to those suffering from the disease. Biden lost his son Beau to brain cancer in 2015, making his work all the more personal.

After leaving office, Biden continued to fight the good fight with the Biden Cancer Initiative. At SXSW 2017, the former VP said, "The only bipartisan thing left in America is the fight against cancer."

Biden's not the only major political figure showing Louis-Dreyfus some love. Hillary Clinton also tweeted Julia her support and applauded her courage. "Julia, you're in our thoughts and our hearts," she wrote. "Inspired but not surprised to see you using your platform for good in this difficult moment."

Julia has a fight ahead of her, but at least she knows she's got some heavy hitters in her corner.
