Roy Moore, a former judge who will likely win Alabama's Republican nomination in the race for the state's Senate seat left vacant by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, has a history homophobic and racist remarks, including saying that homosexuality is an "inherent evil" and referring to races as "reds" and "yellows."
Cosmopolitan and the Associated Press report that Moore, who is disliked by the Republican establishment, has a history of comments about race and sexuality that are pretty much just not okay.
Inevitably, #Alabama will elect the worst person possible.

Case in point: when talking about the currently divisive political situation in the country, Moore said the U.S. is as divided as it was during the Civil War and that, "We've got blacks and whites fighting, reds and yellows fighting, Democrats and Republicans fighting, men and women fighting."
Um, yikes. As if that weren't bad enough, the Senate candidate said while presiding over a child custody case in 2002 in which the mother involved was a lesbian, that homosexuality is "an inherent evil against which children must be protected." According to CNN, in 2015, Moore also said that he believed "homosexual conduct" should be illegal. He's also been suspended from the bench for failing to comply with the Supreme Court's ruling on gay marriage, and has appeared on a radio show hosted by a pastor who believes in the death penalty for homosexuality.
If Moore wins the nomination, he'll run as the favorite against Democratic nominee Doug Jones. While Trump is endorsing appointed Sen. Luther Strange, he's backed by many of the president's supporters who find his similar anti-establishment message appealing.
