Believe it or not, it's been almost seven years since Jaylor (Taylor Swift and Jake Gyllenhaal—not Joe Jonas, or John Mayer, or her high school ex Jordan Alford. Phew.) broke up. This means it's been almost seven years of both parties masterfully avoiding discussing the other in public. The relationship ended, Taylor wrote a song (naturally) and the exes seem to be cordial. The pair may have moved on, and on, and on, but that doesn't mean the rest of the world is done talking about them.
In a recent interview promoting his upcoming movie Stronger, Jake sat down with Boston Marathon bombing survivor Jeff Bauman, who he plays in the film. The men pretty much just roasted each other the whole time, which gave Jeff the perfect opportunity to question Jake about his famous ex.
"If you lost your legs in real life, do you think Taylor Swift would write a song about it?" he asked the actor sarcastically.
Gyllenhaal responded, unphased, "For me, or about it?"
Bauman clarified, "No, like, for you. Like a country song."
Then, the man who supposedly inspired "All Too Well" gave an incredibly anti-climatic answer, completely dodging the question. "She's sort of moved onto pop now."
Thanks for nothing, Jake. It looks like no one is going to dig up any dirt on these exes. I guess everything truly is all too well between them.
