The star-studded Emmy Awards have come and gone, but the backlash of Sean Spicer's appearance that evening still remains. A photo James Corden took with the former White House press secretary caused quite a scene on social media, leading Corden to speak out about it on his Late Late Show Monday night.
"According to some reports, at the after-party, Spicer was the most popular guy in the room," Corden said. "And I just want to say, I think people are forgetting that this man lied to the American people, and should not be embraced. These Hollywood phonies kissing up to Sean Spicer are disgusting. I mean, who did this? Who are we talking about here?!" As he said this, his photo with Spicer was shown to the audience.
"I know you think that is a picture of me kissing Sean Spicer but, in the spirit of Sean Spicer, no it isn't. To be fair, everyone was kissing ass last night at the Emmys. I just happened to kiss the biggest one there."
Despite all the jokes Corden made about the situation, he made sure to express his disappointment. "In truth, I'm disappointed by it as well. I am. I have been reading a lot of harsh comments on Twitter today and I hear you loud and clear. Truly, I do."
Well, James, I'm just glad you can find humor in any situation. Though the photo might not have been favorable among the general public, Corden wasn't the only A-lister hobnobbing with Spicer that night.

Hopefully James and the rest of this crowd have learned their lesson.
