According to PEOPLE, recently resurrected pop princess Taylor Swift took on a not-so-surprising role as a bridesmaid at her best friend’s wedding this past weekend. Taylor’s longtime BFF, Abigail Anderson—you know, the Abigail who gave everything she had to a boy who changed his mind—married photographer Matt Lucier on Martha’s Vineyard at the Old Whaling Church in Edgartown.
Taylor was by her side, like she’s been since they sat next to each other freshman year of high school. The pop star was photographed in a long, flowing, burgundy gown with her signature red lips as she elegantly carried the bride’s train down the aisle.
True Swifties have known how important Abigail is to Taylor since Tay dedicated a song to her BFF on one of her early albums, Fearless, back in 2008. The song, titled “Fifteen,” reveals how the two met and how much they’ve been through together. In fact, Taylor—whose pre-“Look What You Made Me Do” Instagram profile was filled with photos of her and her closest friends—even took Abigail as her date to the Grammys in 2015.
This wasn’t Taylor’s first time as a bridesmaid for one of her hometown friends. In Feb. 2016, Taylor was maid of honor for her childhood friend, Britany Maack. She shared a photo on social media with the caption, “I met her when I was 10 days old, and him in kindergarten. Now they’re married and I’m the happiest maid of honor ever.”
We all know what happens when you’re on Taylor’s bad side, but she is always there for her friends when they need her.
