I'm super excited that Jodie Whittaker has been announced as the new doctor in the hit TV show Doctor Who. Not only is she incredibly talented, but to add to her list of accomplishments, she's the first woman to play the doctor. A step in the right direction for women in Hollywood, am I right? Well, not entirely. Of course, with one win for women comes tabloids that are ready to tear the progress down. If you thought that sexism in the entertainment industry had disappeared, think again.
According to Refinery29, a number of U.K. tabloids published articles disguised as “getting to know Jodie Whittaker” pieces that included nude photos of her (and tried to remind us she's been in sex scenes before). I'll venture to say that this wouldn't happen to a male actor. All the tabloids had to do was mention what Jodie has been in before—sex scenes and nudity are irrelevant. (And even if she did have a nude scene, what's the big deal?!)
Twitter users have had some *feelings* about the blatant sexism.
https://t.co/raT7LBBGch tabloid journalism eh, when will this obsession over women's bodies end?

So apparently, Rupert Murdoch's trash tabloid published nude pictures of the new Doctor Who.
JFC. THIS is why we need a woman in the role.

As the Time Lord becomes a Time Lady, trust one tabloid to unearth eleven year-old pictures of the Actress with her t*ts out! #DoctorWho

Jodie is going to kick ass in this role regardless of what tabloids publish about her. It's about time that we have a female Doctor Who. I can’t wait to see her in her newest role!
