Feminist actions come in all shapes and sizes, and some people are lovingone woman’s “small act of resistance” of putting boys' NASA tank tops in the girl’s section of a clothing store.

Katie continued her mission by saying that she wanted to change up the store a bit more by putting Wonder Woman tank tops in the boys' section.

People were quick to support Hinde and her mission to stop perpetuating gender norms, especially in young children. Her tweet grew especially when it was reposted by the Instagram account Female Collective with the caption “Girls are and can be scientists too! I mean did everyone not see Hidden Figures?!”

Not all of the feedback Hinde received was positive. While some applauded her for fighting gender norms, and making a difference, no matter how small, others labeled her actions as “white feminism” and were quick to note that the only thing she was doing was making more work for the store employees, who, according to most store policies, would have to move the clothing back to their original places (even if they agreed with the message that she was trying to spread!).

Hinde followed up on all the feedback she received respectfully, and decided to put more thought and work into the whole ordeal.

Want your own NASA tank top (that doesn’t need to be associated with any gender)? You can grab this one from Etsy!
