Even in today’s bleak global climate, miracles do happen. Case in point: a high school senior wrote her personal essay on how much she loves ordering pizza, and the essay won her admission to Yale University, USA Today Collegereports. Um, is it too late for all of us to try this method out?

For Tennessee native Carolina Williams, there was never any debate about what she should write about in an application essay asking what she loved to do. Ordering from Papa John’s immediately came to mind. “Honestly, I thought I should go with the first thing that popped in my head,” she told USA Today. “It was completely genuine.”

Although Williams is among the top 10 students in her graduating class, she can partially thank the shout-out to pizza for her acceptance into Yale. A congratulatory note from an admissions officer that Williams shared on Twitter read, “I laughed so hard at your pizza essay. I kept thinking that you are the kind of person that I would love to be best friends with.”

Saying that the act of ordering pizza “evoke[s] feelings of independence, consolation and joy,” Williams tells future applicants to “showcase yourself as a unique individual.” Given the risky move she pulled with her application, it’s safe to say that uniqueness definitely helps an application go the extra mile.

Despite this picture-perfect moment with Yale admissions, Williams plans to attend Auburn University as a business student. As if she wasn’t admirable enough, she’ll be the first in her family to attend college. You go, girl!
