On Thursday, Katy Perry released a new song titled “Swish Swish,” which, based on its lyrics, is aimed at her rivals. And who's a more prominent Katy Perry rival than Taylor Swift? Fortunately for Tay, squad member Ruby Rose had a few words for Katy.
In “Swish Swish,” Katy calls out her unnamed rivals, singing, “I’ma stick around / For more than a minute, get used to it / Funny my name keeps comin’ outcho mouth / ‘Cause I stay winning.”
Late Thursday night, Ruby sent out a string of tweets that both trash the new song and defend Taylor. That's what friends are for, right?
She began, "'Purposeful poop' to 'bomb a petit' to a sloppy mess of writing over the top of Funkagenda..stop trying to make 'Wit...I mean 'fetch' happen." The internet was quick to notice Ruby was calling out Katy's recent release, "Bon Appétit," and the title of her forthcoming album, Witness.

“I just think with everything going on in the world to go from rebranding as political activist only to ditch it and go low.. is.. a bummer,” she continued. Ruby is likely referring to Katy’s participation in the Hillary Clinton campaign last year.

After one Twitter user brought up "Bad Blood," Ruby responded, “Wasn't around sweetheart but my bully experiences came from one of the people involved in that song and it's obviously not T.”

Through everything, Ruby understands that standing up for the people close to you is the most important thing. “I’ve always stood up for the people I love and against things I think are cheap or mean spirited,” Ruby wrote. “That’s not new. You have to follow your heart.”
