Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller Says She'll Pretend She's Shooting a Movie During Her Federal Prison Sentence

Former Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller may have just been sentenced to federal prison, but she's not letting it bring her down

Miller was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison after allegedly hiding $775,000 in income from bankruptcy creditors between 2012 and 2013, as well as transporting an unreported $120,000 of foreign currency from Australia into the United States in 2014. She was indicted on fraud charges in 2015 for hiding her income from the creditors and later plead guilty to the charge in 2016.

"A year and a day. Does that seem harsh?" ABC's Linsey Davis asked Miller of her sentence during an exclusive interview with Good Morning America.

“A year and a day… it sounds like a movie title,” said Miller.

Along with serving her sentence, Miller also has to pay $40,000 in fines and undergo two years of supervised release after serving her sentence, ABC News reports.

“I’m just going to pretend I’m shooting a movie and we’re on set and I’m there for 10 months, and that’s the way it’s going to be,” Miller told Davis. She also plans to spend her days in prison reading and learning to speak Spanish. Additionally, she revealed that she is already working on a new book. At the end of the day, Miller expressed that she's hoping to spend the next chapter of her life working on being a better businesswoman and worrying about herself.

Abby certainly has a positive outlook on her sentence. We hope that she can use this time to reflect and work toward bettering herself.
