ICYMI, American Horror Story has officially announced season 7's theme: American Horror Story: Election. While up until now, we didn't know much other than the fact that the upcoming season will be based on the 2016 election (which TBH, was terrifying enough already), we finally have our first look at season 7 courtesy of the show's creator, Ryan Murphy.

On Friday, Murphy took to his newly-created Instagram account to tease AHS: Election - and it's seriously creepy. The picture shows what we assume to be art from season 7. (And possibly a new character too?) The sketch shows a terrifying-looking elephant with Twisty-esque facial features including red lipstick and dark eye sockets.

Fans are speculating that the elephant is meant to be a tie-in to the Republican party's elephant symbol. Whatever it may be, it's freaky AF.

While specific roles for the show are being kept under wraps, as E! News reports, we do know that all roles will be strictly allegorical - meaning no, you won't exactly see anyone playing Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump.

"I think people literally think Sarah Paulson is playing Hillary Clinton," Murphy told E! News. "And I wanted to clarify that that is not true. Horror Story is always about allegory, so the election is allegory. It's our jumping off point. It is about the election we just went through and what happened on that night and the fallout of that night, which to many people, from all sides of the camps is a horror story."

We're already dying for AHS to come back this fall - and to see how they handle the events of the 2016 election one year later.
