Didn't get enough of Starbucks' amazing Unicorn Frappuccino? Australian skincare company Frank Body is releasing a shimmer scrub that is basically a unicorn body scrub because it's so glitter-infused. But much like the limited-edition Unicorn Frap, this scrub is one hot commodity. It already has 50,000 people on the waitlist to buy it even though it doesn't come out until May 1.
This shimmer scrub is basically like Coachella and the tooth fairy wrapped into one. Sold in a #trendy holographic container, the scrub is made from salt, sugar, coffee beans, grapeseed oil, vitamin e oils and the magical ingredient, mica. The sheet mineral mica leaves behind small pieces that are somewhat shimmery; Frank Body calls it "the closest thing to glow dust."
"Shimmer Scrub" retails for $19.95 alongside the brand's other body scrubs, like its coconut or cacao coffee scrubs. But of course, this one is receiving a lot of attention from young fashionistas because it's just so ~in~. All you do is rub on the scrub and rinse it off to exfoliate. How much of the glitter is left behind? We'll have to get our hands on it to test it out, but Allure reports that the mica causes your skin to actually glow, "but not in a scary, glittery way. It produced more of a subtle, dewy sheen, kind of like a dry body oil: more radiant and less disco ball." According to Allure, it creates a super-moisturized feel and did leave the skin glowing even after removal.
Basically this stuff is actually good for your skin and looks as radiant as a unicorn. Unfortunately, it's also as elusive as one. But you know what they say—throw shimmer, not shade.
