If it seems like President Trump is spending a ton of time at his private Palm Beach, Florida golf club Mar-a-Lago, it's because he is - and it's seriously starting to seriously add up.
According to a new CNN report, POTUS has spent 21 of his 80 days so far in office at Mar-a-Lago - that's six trips, ringing in at an estimated $3.6 million each for travel and proper security. Do the math, and President Trump has spent around $21.6 million in total for only his first three months in office - in contrast, CNN reports that Obama spent $97 million during all eight years in office, according to conservative watchdog group Judicial Watch.
Menawhile, Trump has repeatedly criticized Obama in the past for his spending on personal travel during his time in office:
Why did @BarackObama and his family travel separately to Martha's Vineyard? They love to extravagantly spend on the taxpayers' dime.

President @BarackObama's vacation is costing taxpayers millions of dollars----Unbelievable!

Not only that, but as Refinery29 points out, the president has previously vowed that he would travel less and spend more time at the White House if elected. "I would rarely leave the White House because there’s so much work to be done,” POTUS told The Hill back in 2015. "I would not be a president who took vacations. I would not be a president that takes time off.”
While Trump is supposedly going to be traveling to Florida less as the weather becomes hotter, CNN reports that many aren't holding their breath for him to stop traveling altogether - he'll likely spend a lot of time between the White House and Trump Tower in New York City, where first lady Melania Trump and their son Baron are currently living.
