File it under one of the most unexpected trends of 2017, but freeing the nipple is having a moment. With celebs like Kendall Jenner making braless-ness a fashion statement and our own tendency to trade in our underwires for the comfier option of a bralette, it was only a matter of time before someone created an enhanced version of the real thing - wait, what?
As Refinery29 reports, the company Just Nips has taken the look to the next level by creating, yes seriously, stick-on fashion nipples. It gets even better: they come in two sizes, called "cold" and "freezing," either of which can be yours for $10.
While Just Nips may seem like a is-this-real-life idea at first, the brand's founder Molly Borman spoke to Refinery29 about why she created Just Nips with more than just a fashion statement in mind - the product can also be wore by trans individuals or women who are breast cancer survivors. She also explained that she's working on teaming up with breast cancer charity to get self-breast cancer exam instructions printed on the packaging of every Just Nips product.
"You're touching your breasts anyway when you put Just Nips on, so I want to spread Breast Cancer awareness and teach women how to examine themselves safely and properly while they're at it," she told Refinery29.
Just Nips aren't any old piece of plastic either - they're made with an imitation pearl material (fancy) and are completely GMO-free. And as "cold's" product page says, we have to admit that they are pretty "freaking cute" with their stick-on flower shape.
So, #FreeThe(Fake)Nipple, anyone?
