ICYMI, that Pepsi ad with Kendall Jenner has been creating quite the stir this week for basically commercializing activism and the Black Lives Matter movement - and the saga continues.

One extra from the controversial commercial spoke to People anonymously, saying many of the actors weren't from the United States and likely didn't understand the cultural implications of what they were getting involved in.

“I don’t live in the U.S.A. Maybe if I lived there and knew the [issues] before then, maybe I would feel bad,” the actor from Bangkok, Thailand, where the commercial was filmed, told People. “But I didn’t know anything, so I don’t feel bad.”

The actor also added that many of the commercial's other actors were likely in the same boat as him, since Pepsi chose to film and hire actors overseas, likely in order to save money. He went on to explain that actors discussed the ad's direction with Pepsi beforehand, which told actors that it was meant to have a "message of unity."

“People say things to me like, ‘Why am I in the commercial?’ and say that it is really offensive,” he told People. “It’s like, I was just doing my job. They asked me to be in the commercial.”

While the commercial was definitely not okay within the context of everything happening in the U.S. right now, what this actor had to say is fair enough. We're also seeing a trend here, considering Jenner has also claimed she had nothing to do with the ad's production or message.
