A Study Shows That Straight Women Have Less Orgasms Than Anyone Else

According to a new study, straight women are the least likely to orgasm during sex than any other group (how unsurprising)—this includes straight men, gay men, lesbians and bisexual men and women.

The study, conducted by Indiana University, Chapman University and Claremont Graduate University, showed that the proportion of straight women who usually orgasmed was only 65 percent, compared to 95 percent of straight men and 86 percent of lesbian women, BBCreported.

"There's been a lot of research on orgasm frequency, but there isn't very much data that includes how both gender and sexual orientation relate to orgasm frequency," lead author of the report David A. Frederick, assistant professor of psychology at Chapman University, toldThe Chicago Tribune.

But there's hope in closing this gap—the report analyzed different methods effective in reducing the orgasm gap and increasing frequency of orgasms. For instance, the study found that communication during intimacy can be key. Receiving oral sex and other forms of stimulation accompanied with sex can also help increase the frequency of how often you orgasm, as reported by The Chicago Tribune

Basically, being comfortable with your body and willing to speak up on what you want will increase your chances of orgasming. Everyone deserves climaxing, so definitely don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and take the necessary steps to have better sexual experiences in the future.
