Warning: Spoilers ahead! Oh, and you'll want to grab some tissues.
In last night's episode of This Is Us, titled "Memphis," an emotional journey unfolded as Randall and William (Randall's biological father) traveled to his hometown of Memphis, Tenn. Battling Stage IV cancer, this episode would be William's last. He was taken to a local hospital where he later died in the comforting hands of his son.
This was obviously a very emotional episode for both the viewers and the actors, so creator Dan Fogelman attached a short yet powerful personal letter to the episode's script in order to bring some comfort to the cast. He posted a screenshot of the note on Twitter after the episode aired so that fans of the show could read it and cope with the heart-wrenching events as well.

*Cue the ugly cries*
Ron Cephas Jones, the actor who plays William, remembered how he first felt after reading the script, CNN reports. "I remember us walking out of the building after the first read, and each of us were waiting for one of us to confirm what we'd just read," said Jones. "It was this feeling of, 'There's something special here, and I don't know if it's real or not.'"
We hope that the letter brought comfort to the cast, and we thank Dan Fogelman for sharing it with us! (Even though it made us bawl all over again.)
