President Trump is Finally Going to Hire More People For His Social Media Team

President Donald Trump has a talent for throwing the entire country into a frenzy with a single tweet. Whether you enjoy his tweets or are horrified by them, we can probably all agree that POTUS could stand to impose a little more discipline on his social media process. According to CNN, Trump is reportedly planning to hire new staff members for his social media team this week, who will assist in planning and executing Facebook, Twitter and Instagram posts.

Believe it or not, the team behind our president's infamous and ill-timed posts is made up of none other than himself and his former golf caddy, Dan Scavino. Scavino worked his way up from golf caddy to general manager of one of Trump's golf courses, according to CNN. If you're wondering how a career in golf course management qualified Scavino to run a sitting president's social media accounts, well, so are we.

CNN reports that Trump verbally dictates to Scavino what he would like posted, and Scavino posts, even in the middle of the night. According to The New York Times, Scavino takes a much humbler tone when he writes tweets himself, but he doesn't get to do that often. This is in sharp contrast to President Barack Obama’s digital media team, which consisted of 20 employees, led by former Twitter executive Jason Goldman.

Now, a few weeks into his presidency, Trump is probably realizing he needs a little help, especially since he now has three Twitter accounts to maintain—his personal account, @realDonaldTrump, the President of the United States account, @POTUS, and the official White House twitter, @WhiteHouse. Just last week, Trump stirred up controversy when he tweeted his disgust for Nordstrom department stores dropping his daughter Ivanka's product line. He tweeted that from his personal account, but the tweet was later retweeted by the @POTUS account, raising questions about the proper and professional use of an account that is used solely for government and national business matters.

No word on what qualifications President Donald Trump is seeking for his new social media team, but it is very clear that President Trump needs professional guidance and assistance, and quick.
