Fans of The Vampire Diaries are still waiting to find out whether the series' original star, Nina Dobrev, will be returning before its end. The actress very recently refused to confirm or deny rumors that she would make at least one more appearance on the show, leaving diehard TVD lovers in a frenzy.
Dobrev told The Huffington Post that she is “not allowed” to talk about a possible return, fuelling speculation that she will, in fact, reprise her role as Elena.
Speculation began when the show’s executive producer, Julie Plec, suggested“a promise was made” by Dobrev to return to the series. “She and I have spoken and I know that she 100 percent wants to be there,” Plec said. “I, of course, 100 percent want her to be there, and so it just comes down to stupid things like scheduling.”
But for now, Dobrev seems to be enjoying the tease. “I haven’t ever told secrets in the past and I’m definitely not going to start now,” she told The Huffington Post.
Her denial sounds more like a confession to me, as it seems unlikely she would be keeping a “secret” if she wasn't returning for TVD's final season.
