A woman in Pennsylvania shot her boyfriend in the chest after he grabbed her by the hair and rubbed a slice of pizza in her face, according to the Associated Press. The couple—34-year-old Brandon Doan and his 31-year-old girlfriend Jennifer Boop—were in an argument at the time of the incident, which happened on Oct. 12. Doan had allegedly thrown Boop and her two daughters out of their shared home, and got mad when Boop didn't pack up her things to leave.
"I grabbed her by the hair and gently smooshed the pizza in her face. She quickly shot me," Doan said on the witness stand.
After the shooting, Boop called for help before she began to try to stop the bleeding. She told police she was holding the gun to try to scare her boyfriend, but didn't mean to actually shoot him.
Doan has to wear a neck brace and says he's partially lost use of one of his arms, according to The Daily Item.
Boop has been charged with attempted homicide and aggravated assault, which her attorney says is not justified because she was "bullied" by Doan. It definitely sounds like the relationship was not a healthy one. Despite this, a district attorney ordered Boop to stand trial. She is currently in jail on a $25,000 bond.
