T-minus three days until the long-awaited Gilmore Girls revival finally hits Netflix, and the hype is now at a monstrous level. Our anticipation is so high that even this news didn’t bum us out—Kelly Bishop, otherwise known as Emily Gilmore, apparently isn’t a fan of the last four words of Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, according to HelloGiggles.
To be fair, the last four words are the stuff of legend for Gilmore Girls fans—we all know how show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had four words in mind to end the original series with, but her leaving the show before its series finale meant that the mystery of the words lived on…until now! The famed words will appear at the end of the last revival episode, which is titled “Fall.”
While other cast members say that the words are surprising, Bishop held nothing back in an interview with The Daily Beast. Scripts for the final episode only read “And then the last four words are said,” and when Bishop finally asked about the words, her response to them was simply, “Oh.”
“If it’s true, this is a really lousy thing to say, if it’s really true that those are the last four words then my reaction is, ‘Eh,’” she said in the interview. “That’s it.”
Honestly, we’re giving her reaction the benefit of the doubt and still hoping for the best for the revival’s ending. No matter what, Gilmore Girls is coming back—can we really ask for anything more?
