Modern Family is easily one of TV's most groundbreaking shows. The slew of awards received over the years is just proof of the show's comedic genius, as well as its ability to address stereotypes or societal norms. The recent casting news regarding the show adds to Modern Family's variety of actors from all genders, ages and races. An upcoming episode, titled 'A Stereotypical Day' will introduce a new character named Tom, who will be played by Jackson Millmarker.
According to the synopsis, the episode will tackle acceptance of others, as Cam and Mitchell try to re-evaluate their own ideas of others. "Cam and Mitchell have always felt they were the most open, non-judgmental and supportive parents. However, when they overhear Lily insulting her new friend, they have to take a quick look in the mirror before they teach her a lesson about acceptance," the episode description reads.
Although Modern Family isn't the first show to feature a transgender actor, 8-year-old Jackson will bring something new to Modern Family, and it looks like the crew is excited to have him on board! Director Ryan Case posted a photo from the set, showing how excited she is that Modern Family is adding even more variety to the cast.
We can't wait for this episode to air on TV!
