With Taylor Swift being the target of many campaigns discussing “white feminism,” it’s no surprise that people all over the world are talking about what exactly it means to be an intersectional feminist. One woman who describes it perfectly is Girl Meets World star, Rowan Blanchard.

According to Refinery29, in a recent interview with The Cut, Blanchard hit the nail on the head, saying, “My first definition of feminism was so small: Men and women should be equal. And maybe that’s how you have to learn it, so that it can be more accessible.”

But this didn’t just come to her suddenly. Over time, she started “discovering Audre Lorde and Angela Davis and all of these intricacies of feminism that were not being presented to me by these white feminist ‘icons.'” And it didn’t sit well with her.

“It was only then that I realized how deep it is and how it’s more about undoing these walls that we have built around marginalized people — it’s not just about women and men. It’s the fact that the walls for me are different than the walls for Amandla [Stenberg],” she said.

Because she is *way* ahead of where most 14-year-olds are in this debate, she added that feminism is more than fighting for equality of men and women. It is about “undoing patriarchal structures against marginalized people,” which include LGBTQ, disabled and colored women.

Yes, girl. Yes. Let’s all take note.
