Every year fashion trends come and go, but one thing stays constant: the unrealistic expectation fashion designers have for women’s bodies.
Models like Ashley Graham prove what some members of the fashion industry still fail to understand, which is that all women are beautiful and come in different shapes in sizes. Despite the progress Graham and other curvy models have made, the idea of the “perfect” woman remains.
Earlier this week, Saturday Night Live star Leslie Jones tweeted about her struggle in finding a designer who would be willing to dress her for the upcoming premiere of Ghostbusters.
It's so funny how there are no designers wanting to help me with a premiere dress for movie. Hmmm that will change and I remember everything

Hmm what a difference a tweet makes. Should I name the designers that didn't look out?Put y'all ass on blast. You will not get my love later

Designer and Project Runway winner Christian Siriano stepped up to work with Jones, and she will no doubt look flawless. But, Siriano should not have been the only designer to stick up for Jones, and 19-year-old model Barbie Ferreira agrees.
Ferreira labels herself as a curvy model and has posed for brands like Aerie and ASOS. She also took to Twitter to voice her disappointment toward the fashion world.
She could not fathom why fashion designers only cater towards one type of woman.
Fashions discontent for curvy women is this crazy they won't make a dress not in sample size for a premiere .. Wow https://t.co/wwhN0kgzNK

She too has experienced the same problem that Jones faced.
Every day I'm reminded of my body . Even if I'm excited about an event finding someone who even wants to help me by styling is impossible

She wonders when the industry will finally change its judgmental ways.
And hearing an actress in a huge film having similar struggles .. Girl I feel hopeless . Am I gonna have to wear Sears when I win my Oscar ?

It's about time this changed.
