Kylie Jenner Shared *Another* Pic Of Stormi & I Just Can't Take All This Cuteness

The forecast today is Stormi with a chance of cuteness!!

Kylie Jenner posted a new photo of Stormi (I live for this!) on her largely-followed Snapchat account, featuring one-month-old Stormi sleeping in a pale pink knit onesie.

Kylie has been giving fans a glimpse into her new life with her baby girl since announcing the birth of her first child in February,

The latest Snapchat isn't the only glimpse we've had of Stormi. Jenner posted photos of her grandmother, MJ, holding Stormi on Monday, captioning the sweet pictures, "I mean.. does it get any better than this?" She also posted a picture of BFF Jordyn Woods holding Stormi on her Snapchat, just hours before Khloe's baby shower this past weekend.

Earlier this week, Kylie participated in an impromptu Q&A with fans on Twitter, opening up about her pregnancy, how she told her family, and how boyfriend Travis is doing with fatherhood. She also revealed that Stormi and Kim Kardashian's daughter, Chicago, were already besties—and sister Khloe Kardashian's daughter would also be Stormi's new BFF once she is born.

We just can't enough of baby Stormi. Keep those pictures coming, Kylie!

Cardi B Is Reportedly Pregnant With Her First Child

Rumors have been circulating since February about a Cardi B pregnancy—although the rapper and her fiancé, Offset, quickly shut them down.

Now, once again, tabloids are saying that Cardi B is pregnant. Right now, it's pretty much a lot of unnamed sources and speculation about her wardrobe feeding into the idea, but TMZ actually gave a specific due date, saying that Cardi B is expecting her first child in July. She wore a baby doll dress to the iHeart Radio Awards, which some thought meant she was trying to hide a baby bump.

A post shared by Cardi B Official IG (@iamcardib) on

However, Cardi B has not been shy to deny these rumors in the past. When one fan tried to accuse her of being pregnant last month on Instagram, she shot back saying, "No b**** I'm just getting fat. Let me fat in peace." So if she isn't pregnant, we should be hearing from her soon. And "let me fat in peace"? Iconic.

The "Bodak Yellow" rapper also recently posted a meme on Instagram about birth control. Granted, that could be a harmless joke, but still. If we're analyzing her wardrobe we might as well look at all the facts.

Cardi is scheduled to perform at Coachella, and sources say she'll still do it with a little angel on the way. And if TMZ's timeline is correct, she will be seven months pregnant at the time of the performance—but this is still a big if as ofright now.

TBD if she really is pregnant, but a bitty Cardi B? How cute.

Miley Cyrus Is Being Sued For $300 Million Over Her Song 'We Can't Stop'

Miley Cyrus is facing a lawsuit filed by by Jamaican artist Michael May, also known as Flourgon, for $300 million. May is accusing Cyrus of infringing his reggae song "We Run Things" with her 2013 hit "We Can't Stop." According to May, Cyrus' chorus "We run things / Things don't run we" is a little too similar to the line "We run things / Things no run we," which May claims he created for the 1988 track.

Cyrus isn't the only one in the crossfire—producers Theron Thomas, Timothy Thomas, and Mike Williams are also being sued by May, along with Cyrus' manager Larry Rudolph, Sony Music, and RCA Records. The suit claims that the line from "We Run Things" was crucial to the success of Cyrus' song. It also claims that "We Can't Stop" benefited from the stolen language of Caribbean music, specifically of the Jamaican Patios. To back up his argument, May cited a 2015 interview with Theron Thomas where Thomas speaks about the influence of Caribbean culture on his music.

May's attorney is calling for a compensation of $300 million as well as the prevention of further sale, distribution, and performance of the song. He claims they received copyright protection for all elements of "We Run Things" last November.

"We Run Things" reached the top of the charts at No. 1 single in Jamaica in the 1980s, and "We Can't Stop peaked at No. 2 in 2013. But "We Can't Stop" isn't the only song under fire from the top of the charts from 2013. The No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 was Robin Thicke's "Blurred Lines," which was sued for copyright infringement over the 1977 Marvin Gaye song "Got to Give it Up." In a more recent case, a suit was filed against Taylor Swift for alleged infringement of a line from Sean Hall and Nathan Butler for her single "Shake it Off." Marvin Gaye's family was awarded $5.3 million dollars and ongoing royalties from Thicke's song; Swift's suit was dismissed earlier this year.

May's case against Cyrus was filed in the U.S. District Court in Manhattan and is currently pending.

Trump Bragged About Not Knowing Facts In A Meeting With Justin Trudeau Because That's 2018's Brand Now

Historically, President Donald Trump has bragged a lot about anything he’s deemed praiseworthy. From passing “hard” cognitive tests to his tweets about the size of his nuclear button (we’re still not sure if that’s supposed to be an innuendo), Trump has bolstered about virtually everything even gloating about things that, in hindsight, he probably shouldn’t have. On Wednesday, Trump bragged to Canada’s Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau about not knowing facts, according to CBC News.

The Washington Post claims that Trump allegedly lied to Trudeau about the U.S. trade deficit. Apparently, The Post obtained exclusive audio of Trump’s fundraising speech on Wednesday, where Trump revealed that he make up falsehoods during his meeting with Trudeau. Does this mean that Sean Spicer isn’t the only person to give “alternate facts”?

During the meeting, Trudeau explained to Trump that Canada doesn’t have any trade deficits with the U.S.; however, Trump didn’t agree. The Post reports that Trump responded said during his speech that he essentially fibbed to Trudeau, because he wasn't .

In his speech, Trump attempted to reenact the conversation, “... So, he’s proud. I said, ‘Wrong, Justin, you do.’ I didn’t even know. ... I had no idea. I just said, ‘You’re wrong.’ You know why? Because we’re so stupid. … And I thought they were smart. I said, ‘You’re wrong, Justin.’ He said, ‘Nope, we have no trade deficit.’ I said, ‘Well, in that case, I feel differently,’ I said, ‘but I don’t believe it.’ I sent one of our guys out, his guy, my guy, they went out, I said, ‘Check, because I can’t believe it.’ ‘Well, sir, you’re actually right. We have no deficit, but that doesn’t include energy and timber. … And when you do, we lose $17 billion a year.’ It’s incredible.”

Trump was eager to correct Trudeau, when he actually didn’t know the facts (and Trudeau may or may not have agreed with his apparent lie to avoid a meltdown), saying that the U.S. has a trade deficit with Canada. However, The Office of the United States Trade Representative (USTR) reveals that it’s actually the U.S. that has a trade surplus with Canada, which the USTR explains was our “largest goods export market in 2016.”

Albeit, the USTR's facts and figures regarding U.S. and Canada's trade deals can be a little outdated. Thankfully, the United States Census Bureau has updated statistics about U.S. and Canada's trade trends. In fact, the Bureau details our trade history with Canada up to Jan. 2018. According to the Bureau, the U.S. actually has a long-standing goods trade deficit with Canada. Because a trade deficit occurs when the overall value of a country's imports outweighs the country's exports, the Bureau's most recent data reveals that the U.S. actually does have a trade deficit with Canada, as the U.S. traded 22,635.4 worth of goods to Canada versus the 26, 271.6 worth of good Canada imported to the U.S.. Nevertheless, the U.S. does have a trade surplus regarding certain things, like timber and energy, according to CNN (after all, the U.S. and Canada trade industry expands beyond just commodities).

USA Today explains that Trump took to Twitter to defend his claims (both during his speech on Wednesday and his meeting with Trudeau). “We do have a Trade Deficit with Canada, as we do with almost all countries (some of them massive). P.M. Justin Trudeau of Canada, a very good guy, doesn't like saying that Canada has a Surplus vs. the U.S.(negotiating), but they do...they almost all do...and that’s how I know!,” Trump tweeted. Actually, Trump might be justified in defending his claims, based on the Bureau's data.

While Canada's apparent trade surplus might seem like it benefits the Canadian economy, it can have negative ramifications on both Canada's economy and the world economy (and obviously the U.S.'s economy, because we do have a trade deficit). As the Centre for European Reform (CER) explains, a country can’t support its financial prosperity and growth on trade alone. While the CER bases its evidence on the UK’s trade surplus [with the U.S.] back in 2009, economic growth that’s centered around trade surplus alone can create an economic disservice for that country as well as the world economy, regardless of which country has the surplus (especially since it can imply that a specific country is reliant on international trade). Likewise, The Economist agrees that a surplus can be bad news for the global economy. After all, a trade deficit isn't necessarily a bad thing

Despite the fact that the U.S. does actually have a goods trade deficit with Canada, Trump did intentionally try to deceive Trudeau, because he did say in his speech on Wednesday that he "didn't know" if he was telling the truth to Trudeau (when he made the initial claims that the U.S. has a trade deficit). Regardless, unintentionally or intentionally trying to deceive our ally, Canada, especially when Trump didn't actually know the facts at the time. In fact, it could have a negative impact on international relations according to a former US Ambassador to Canada.

Megan Nicole Talks About the Inspiration For Her New Pop Album & Adorable Clothing Line (Exclusive Q&A)

With over 4 million subscribers and 844 million views on YouTube, singer/songwriter Megan Nicole is a musical force to be reckoned with.

After being discovered on YouTube in 2009 and releasing her first independent album, Escape, in 2014, she continued to take the pop sphere by storm and recently released an album entitled My Kind of Party. She also collaborated with designer Julie Mollo on a new clothing collection called Confetti Heart. Megan Nicole spoke with Her Campus about potential new projects on the horizon, how to revamp your warm weather wardrobe and what she’d be doing if she weren’t in music.

Her Campus: You’ve recently released a brand-new album titled My Kind of Party, which is an amazing fusion of pop, retro & 90s R&B sounds. Are there any artists that have influenced your style of music?

Megan Nicole: I grew up listening to a lot of Stevie Wonder, Queen, and Earth, Wind, and Fire with my dad. Artists from the 70s, 80s and even into the early 90s, really inspired my music because that's what I grew up on.

HC: I’m sure it’s a difficult choice, but do you have a favorite song from your album?

MN: My favorite song from the album would have to be "Clueless." It's really simple and sweet, but it came from a place where I was kind of in this limbo where I felt like maybe this guy could be interested in me, but I never really wanted to push it too much. I didn't want to take too big of a leap, and so I just kind of felt like I was stuck in the middle and left kind of clueless. But eventually it all worked out because now we're married! I always think that's kind of funny because when I wrote that song I was definitely in this clueless state, but it turns out he felt the same.

HC: When you’re not working on your own music, what are your favorite tunes to listen to?

MN: So I recently made a Spotify playlist, and I called it "My Kind of Playlist," which is kind of cutesy. I just put some of the songs I've been listening to, and some of those are Charlie Puth. I really love "How Long." I'm really excited to hear more music from him. Also, there was this artist called Tove Styrke, and she has a song called "Say My Name." That's another song I've been listening to a lot. I love The Kooks a lot, too. It's like one of favorite bands. We used two of their songs at our wedding.

HC: Besides promoting your new album, you’ve also teamed up with designer Julie Mollo and created a super cute clothing line called Confetti Heart. What was your inspiration for not only the style, but the name your collection?

MN: Confetti Heart was a title that I had for a while. I didn't know if I wanted it to be a song, if it would be an album name or what it would be—but the idea of Confetti Heart came around because it was this title that I had that I really just kind of loved the visual of it. To me, Confetti Heart was an example of all of us, how we go through situations and things that may break us down a little along the way, but all the pieces come back together and still make something beautiful. That's the idea of Confetti Heart. Julie and I have been friends for four years, and I finally was visiting her in New York on a trip and we were talking. I said, "Hey, we should do something together." She said, "Yeah, I love it!" That idea, that title, just came back to me and ended up not being a song or an album, but it ended up being the name for the collection. Julie loved everything confetti and everything heart, too. It was such a natural fit. The whole line is really inspired by each of our lives living on separate coasts. Julie is based in New York and I'm out in California, so our worlds coming together has been the inspiration for Confetti Heart.

HC: How would describe your everyday style? Do you have any pieces of clothing you wear all the time?

MN: I've always said it's a little quirky meets classic, so I have a lot of classic silhouettes like skater dresses. But more and more lately I've been wearing a lot of fun pants. Some of my favorite go-to pants are these pink velour pants that I have because they're so comfy, but I also still feel stylish and put-together.

HC: What advice would you give college women who are looking to revitalize their wardrobes for the warmer spring weather?

MN: If you're looking to revitalize your wardrobe, one of my favorite things to do is to just try things on. I love going to the mall and trying things that maybe I haven't tried before. It's like, "Oh, I've never tried this style of pants" or "I've never really tried this style of shirt," and kind of getting an idea of what I like. That's how I feel I've built my personal style over the years. I just did trial-and-error and seeing what I felt good in, and what kind of reflected me the most and how I was feeling at the time.

A post shared by Megan Nicole (@megannicolemusic) on

HC: I know it’s very early to be thinking about new projects, but is there anything you’d like to accomplish after the My Kind of Party era comes to a close?

MN: In some ways I'm already moving on to the next thing because I'm constantly creating and writing. I've been working on new music right now, so I don't know if that'll be a single later on or a new album. But more music is definitely on the way and hopefully some more acting projects as well. I've really been putting more time and energy into that world, so that's something I want to explore more.

HC: What is your dream college to attend and why?

MN: My dream college to attend...Oh my gosh. When I was younger, I always wanted to go to the University of Texas because I grew up in Texas, and where I was, it was either you were University of Texas or Texas A&M. For whatever reason, I had my heart set on University of Texas, and my younger sister was Texas A&M. We were a divided household. I did not go to either one of those colleges. Another college in my heart was Pepperdine, because it was out in California and I was living in Texas at the time. I just loved the idea of being on a campus on the beach in California. It's so beautiful.

HC: What do you think you’d be doing if you weren't pursuing music?

MN: I'd like to think I'd be an interior designer because that's what I always wanted to be when I was younger. Before that, it was astronaut, but interior designer now. We recently moved into a new place, so it's been fun being able to put our mark on the house and create a space that feels like us. That's something I've always wanted to do, help create a space for other people that reflected them.

The Sister Of The Charleston Church Shooter Was Arrested For Making Threatening Social Media Comments

It’s been years since Dylan Roof shot and murdered nine people at Charleston’s Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in 2015. However, his family is once again in the news as NPR reports that his sister, Morgan Roof, was arrested on Wednesday after she posted violent and threatening messages on Snapchat.

Roof was arrested shortly after she Snapchatting messages about how she hoped everyone protesting gun violence would “get shot.” In her message, she wrote, [sic] “Your walking out of the allowed time of 17min, they are letting you do this, nothing is gonna change what tf you think it’s gonna do? I hope it’s a trap and y’all get show we know it’s fixing to be nothing but black people walking out anyway. No offense ofc buuut.”

Roof’s comments and subsequent arrest happened on the #NationalWalkOutDay, where people mourned and the loss of their fellow peers and teachers to protest gun violence. WACH-TV, an affiliate of Fox News, explains officers arrested Roof at A.C. Flora High School and no students were harmed (thankfully).

The State reveals that Roof was put into the custody of Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center after officers swiftly responded to her concerning messages. The Richland County Sherriff, Leon Lott, told The State in a news release that they initially responded to Roof’s threats because she violated the school policy.

WACH-TV reveals that Roof has a bond of $5,000, and she is not allowed to return to her high school after officers found a knife, pepper spray and marijuana in her locker.

As though saying "no offense" means nobody can be offended or feel threatened.

Regardless, her Snapchat comments are eerily reminiscent of her brother’s crimes and courtroom messages—especially since she references that “nothing but black people [are] walking out” following her hopes that all participants in the walkout out would “get shot.”

Shortly after the incident, A.C. Flora High School Principal, Susan Childs, sent a formal statement to concerned parents. In her letter, she described the situation and even offered her phone number to any concerned students or parents who might need to reach out to her.

South Carolina Governor, Henry McMaster Tweet the following message in response to Roof’s arrest: "Potential tragedy was avoided at AC Flora High School. In two separate incidents, students and educators reacted quickly to reports of suspicious activity and behavior to their Richland County Sheriff's Department school resource officer.”

Thankfully, students and faculty reported Roof’s suspicious Snapchats; otherwise, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department wouldn’t have been able to act so swiftly.

5 Outfits to Copy That Will Transition You from Winter to Spring

Thick layers, warm boots and woven scarves have wrapped us well this winter season, but things are heating up and so should our wardrobes. As winter ends and we stroll into the spring season, our style is going to need its own little transition period. After all, we all want to get as much use out of our warmer pieces before we stow them away for next winter. To help you transition your own style, HC has you covered with five gorgeous outfits you can replicate to take your wardrobe from winter chic to spring flair.

Save your tights and bring out the pastel tops

Frost Blossoms

Winter to spring style involves mixing pieces that will still keep you relatively warm in the progressively less chilly weather while livening it up with spring flair. Keeping staple winter pieces like tights and leggings in your style will echo the winter trends. Wearing muted winter items with fun spring items creates a dynamic style transition. Skirts generally give off a whimsical spring vibe, but this skirt style is still wintery with its stiffer fit and muted mustard color.

Spice up your winter skirt and tights with bright pastel tops, which are essential for spring. They channel the blossoming pink flowers and light baby blue skies you’ll see throughout the season. Darker winter pieces keep things slightly muted while the livelier pieces bring winter and spring together. Throw in a fancy beret for a fun spring-in-France feel, flower accents for more spring aesthetic and booties for that last touch of winter chic. Don’t forgeta rosy makeup look with your perfect pinky blush that mimics the spring roses and the flush you get from a cold winter’s day.

Re-boot and flash your florals

Spring Blues

Pastel floral dresses like this one scream springtime but throwing in a pair of deeper colored boots makes the outfit channel winter fashion as well. Makeup can also steer an outfit in a whole other direction; this matching frosty blue eyeshadow is a perfect both for winter and springtime. This color matches the dress but is still reminiscent of the winter season. Feel free to add a matching jacket to the mix if you want to get more winter vibes out of this outfit. Otherwise, the boots and makeup look are all you need to make an outfit that walks the line between spring and winter perfectly.

Blush tones are your best friends

Rosy Spring

Blush tones are perfect for winter, spring and honestly, all year round. Blush tones mimic winter chills, summer rosiness, and actual spring blossoms. If you want a look that transitions well between seasons, blush tones are the way to go. Try an outfit with a monochromatic scheme of pinks like this one. The pastel pinks are true to spring while the deepest magentas harken back to winter time. Middle rose tones like this lipstick color will tie the whole ensemble together as a pink paradise. And of course, you can never go wrong with any flower motifs when you want to embody springtime. Pink socks and shoes play up the spring aesthetic while keeping your tootsies toasty. Lastly, throw in a denim jacket for that final warm winter touch.

Cozy winter pieces can stay

Cozy Spring

Not ready to let go of a cozy winter style just yet? There are still tons of pieces you’ll find the use for in warmer weather, like a fleece or wool cardigan. This piece is more on the wintery side but changing some of the smaller pieces in your normal winter outfit can really spring your style up. Replace the boots you’d normally pair with this cardigan with some whimsical wedge sandals. Swap out your long sleeve turtleneck for a brighter, thinner sleeveless top. A peachy makeup look and floral jewelry will refresh your old winter outfit into a pretty spring ensemble you’ll love to wear all season long. No need to drop all your winter pieces for bright spring ones; go ahead and stay cozy in your winter wear while making spring statements.

Edge out spring with winter wear

Bright Seasons

All this talk of florals and pastels is great and all, but does transitioning to spring style really mean losing the edginess of winter fashion? Darker colors and sharper edges are typical of winter wear, but you can cross those elements over into a transitional spring ensemble.

An outfit like this one is bolder and bright but perfect for stepping into spring. This jacket is a perfect middle ground between winter and spring fashion — the lighter yellow matches the softer spring color scheme while still being dark enough to mimic typical winter fashion. Not to mention the zippers and silver accents that give it that edgier appearance. Pops of color like a pink lip and a bubblegum pink heel also bring a bolder side to spring fashion. Finish the look off with cute pink stud earrings and light -wash jeans to keep up the pastel vibes. And voilà, you now have a unique winter to spring outfit that’ll leave onlookers baffled at its beauty.

Changing up our style so suddenly can seem daunting, but the mix of spring and winter trends makes for an extraordinary style opportunity. You get to splice together your favorite things about both seasons and create outfits that you otherwise wouldn’t think about putting together. Experiment with different pieces and you may be surprised at what you create. Let’s take this brief transitional period as a golden opportunity to try new things and make bolder and brighter fashion statements.

Snapchat Apologized After Running A Tone-Deaf Ad That Asked Users To Either 'Slap' Rihanna Or 'Punch' Chris Brown

Snapchat recently ran a tasteless advertisement that made light of domestic violence on Rihanna's behalf. As would be expected, the social media app is receiving heavy criticism for allowing such an oversight to occur — including from Rihanna herself.

The advertisement was for the app “Would You Rather?” and it asked users, “Would you rather slap Rihanna or punch Chris Brown?” This is likely a reference to the highly publicized domestic assault case in 2009, in which Brown was alleged to have repeatedly hit Rihanna, who was his girlfriend at the time. He then pled guilty to felony assault and making criminal threats.

Rihanna posted a response on her Instagram story, stating:

"Now SNAPCHAT I know you already know you ain’t my fav app out there! But I’m just trying to figure out what the point was with this mess! I’d love to call it ignorance, but I know you ain’t that dumb! You spent money to animate something that would intentionally bring shame to DV victims and made a joke of it!!! This isn’t about my personal feelings, cause I don’t have much of them…but all the women, children and men that have been victims of DV in the past and especially the ones who haven’t made it out yet… you let us down! Shame on you. Throw the whole app-ology away."

Other people on social media called out the ad, including Chelsea Clinton.

Snapchat later issued a public statement apologizing for the ad: “The advert was reviewed and approved in error, as it violates our advertising guidelines. We immediately removed the ad last weekend, once we became aware. We are sorry that this happened.”

The damage was already done, though. According to The Wall Street Journal, Rihanna's post erased roughly $800 million of Snapchat's market value.

A Giant Monster Unicorn Sprinkler Exists & Here Are 5 Times You'll Need It This Summer

$
0
0

We’re almost halfway through March, which means the countdown to summer has officially begun. Stores are displaying bikinis and sundresses, ads for tanning lotion interrupt every single song I try to listen to, and my motivation to do my schoolwork is decreasing exponentially. As you do your summer shopping, you might be interested in adding this 7-foot-tall vinyl unicorn sprinkler to your list.

Don’t think you need this sprinkler? Um, think again. Here are the top 5 scenarios in which you’ll need it this summer.

1. Studying for exams

Some of us (myself included) will be stranded on campus taking classes this summer. In the winter, it’s hard to find things to do when taking a break from studying. (I usually end up eating my bodyweight in pasta just to give myself something to do, hbu?) However, I envision this summer being a lot more glorious.

Imagine this: I’m sitting in the quad of my university, decked out in an adorable bathing suit, casually flipping through some flash cards as a seven-foot-tall unicorn sprays water onto my hair to cool me down. Now picture you doing the same!

2. An excuse not to go to the gym

My freshman year of college, I made sure to pack some bathing suits from back in my swim team days so that I could work out by swimming laps in the gym. Those bathing suits are buried in the bottom of my dresser to this day.

I’m not going to do a swimming workout anytime soon. But maybe if I wear one of those bathing suits while a seven-foot-tall unicorn sprays water on me, I’ll feel a little less guilty about it. That’s basically a workout, right?

3. When the fam comes to visit

Your family just loves to hear about all the clean and wholesome fun you’re having in college, right? Well, what’s more clean and wholesome than a unicorn sprinkler? That’s right. Nothing.

So next time your mom comes to visit and she asks how you’ve been spending your Friday nights, head on outside where you’ll have your unicorn waiting for you. “College students don’t drink anymore, Mom,” you can tell her. “We play with unicorn sprinklers now.”

4. When you’re thirsty

Adulting is hard. Sometimes your sink stops working. Have you thought about what you would do in that situation? Well, maybe you should.

I, personally, aim to be prepared in all situations. And in the situation that my sink stops working, I’m going to continue to hydrate by drinking out of the horn of a seven-foot-tall unicorn. Take one out of my book, and be prepared in all situations.

5. Tailgate szn

Right after summer comes football season, and, let me guess: You’ve always wanted to throw an epic tailgate but couldn’t compete with the frat houses. How could you get people to come to your tailgate when there are hundreds of sweaty boys shotgunning Natty Lite and blasting “Closer” by the Chainsmokers just down the street?

I have a solution for you. Hint: it's seven feet tall and isn’t your school’s star basketball player. (Although that would probably work too.) Imagine you’re walking down the street, trying to decide which tailgate to attend. Would you choose Natty Lite or a seven-foot-tall unicorn? Hopefully the answer’s pretty obvious to the both of us.

This summer has the potential to be the best one yet, but if you don’t have a seven-foot-tall unicorn, then...tough luck, man.

Kendall Jenner Sang About Her Vagina In Lil Dicky's "Freaky Friday" Video Alongside Ed Sheeran, DJ Khaled & More

When you hear "Freaky Friday," you're probably not thinking of Lil Dickey trading bodies with other celebrities like Kendall Jenner, but instead, the 2003 film with Lindsay Lohan and Jaime Lee Curtis (plus Chad Michael Murray!).

Well, in the rapper's new music video, the two of them collide. Lil Dickey's "Freaky Friday" pays ode to the film, but I highly doubt Disney had anything to do with the NSFW video.

A number of celebrities made cameos, including Kendall Jenner. The model and KUWTK star can be seen jumping on a bed singing about exploring her body, "Holy sh*t, I got a vagina. I'm gonna learn. I'm gonna understand the inner workings of a woman."

Watch the madness below:

I, for one, am going to stick with the classic Freaky Friday. But I still love you, Kendall.

Spring break is our first real chance to soak up the sun after a long, dreary winter. With this freedom, the only thing on your mind should be having a good time. The last thing you want to do is spend forever doing your hair, especially if you’ll be near the water!

Go from boring hair to beach bombshell in a matter of minutes with these five easy hairstyles. Whether you’ll be catching some waves in Florida, flip-flopping through the sand in Cancun or simply watching Hawaii Five-0 in your dorm, be sure to try out these cute hairstyles to look cute no matter what you’re doing.

1. Tousled Topknot

This super easy, laid-back look can be done on wet hair after a dip in the pool or a swim in the sea. It also doubles as a great post-workout hairstyle.

What You’ll Need

  • Hair tie
  • Leave-in conditioner
  • Wide-tooth comb
  • Anti-frizz serum

Instructions

  1. Taking a wide-tooth comb, gently untangle your hair, starting from your ends and working your way up to the roots.
  2. Apply a leave in conditioner or your choice. We recommend Neutrogena Triple Moisture Silk Touch Leave-in Cream ($8.49).This helps to replace the moisture in your hair that has been stripped away by the pool or seawater.
  3. Work a small amount of serum into your hair; we recommend L’Oreal’s Smooth Intense Frizz Taming Serum ($5.97). This traps the moisture of the leave-in conditioner and also helps to tame frizz.
  4. Secure your hair in a high ponytail using the hair tie.
  5. Twist all of your hair into a coil and wrap it up into a ballerina bun.
  6. Secure the ends of your hair to the bun with bobby pins to ensure that it stays.
  7. Use your fingers to carefully fluff the bun for more volume.

2. Lovely Low Side Braid

This look is great for a long walk on the beach in the evening, yet stylish enough for an outdoor concert.

What You’ll Need

  • Comb
  • Hair ties

Instructions

  1. Take the comb and create a center part that starts at your crown.
  2. Gather your hair into a low ponytail on your preferred side. Secure with the hair tie.
  3. Separate your hair into three sections and do a simple braid. It doesn’t have to be perfect; the messier the better, actually!
  4. Secure the end with another hair tie. If you don’t have shorter layers that will stick out, you can remove the first hair tie.

3. Sultry Scrunched Updo

Curly-haired girls will love this easy, sophisticated look. Try this for a night out with the girls.

What You’ll Need

  • Curling mousse
  • Hair tie
  • Headband
  • Bobby pins

Instructions

  1. Apply the curling mousse to your hair to enhance your natural curls and tame frizz. We recommend the Got2b Kinkier Gloss & Define Curling Mousse ($4.78).
  2. Take the hair tie and secure your hair into a loose, messy bun.
  3. Take any ends that are sticking out and use bobby pins to pin them into place.
  4. Continue until all of your hair is up.
  5. Add a headband of your choice to jazz up the look.

4. Braided Chignon

This simple, glam look is perfect for a dinner at that restaurant near the beach.

What You’ll Need

  • Hair tie
  • Bobby pins
  • Hair serum
  • Brush

Instructions

  1. Start by brushing all the knots and tangles out of your hair.
  2. Apply the serum to your hair to tame frizz. We recommend ORGANIX Nourishing Coconut Milk Anti-Breakage Serum ($7.99).
  3. Taking small sections at the front of your hair, make two tiny braids. You can do this on either side of your head (or both).
  4. Secure all of your hair, including the braids, into a ponytail at the middle of your head. The braids will add a girly feel to the look.
  5. Separate the hair from the ponytail into three sections.
  6. Take the first section of hair (closest to the base of the ponytail) and wrap it around the base of the ponytail, covering the hair tie.
  7. Pin the ends of that section up with bobby pins.
  8. Repeat this with the other two sections of hair.
  9. Pin the entire chignon to your head and fluff it with your fingers as desired.

5. Inverted Ponytail

This style is a jazzed-up version of an everyday look.  Wear this to a day out at the beach.

What You’ll Need

  • Hair tie
  • Brush
  • Hair serum

Instructions

  1. Brush your hair and apply the serum from root to tip. We recommend John Frieda’s Frizz Ease Original Hair Serum ($11.99).
  2. Gather your hair into a loose ponytail at your desired spot.
  3. At the base of the pony (above the hair tie), take your fingers and create a space (about the size of a golf ball) that your ponytail would be able to fit through.
  4. Carefully push your ponytail through the loop and pull gently to secure the twisted knot.

These quick and easy hairstyles are also great for class and running errands on weekends. Armed with these cute ‘dos, sunscreen and sunglasses, you’re sure to have a super-chic spring break!

HC Wake-Up Call: Donald Trump Jr. Divorce, Florida International University Bridge Collapse & New Development In Robert Mueller's Russia Investigation

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Vanessa Trump Files For Divorce From Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Trump Jr. — President Trump's oldest son — and his wife are splitting. According to Page Six, Vanessa Trump filed the necessary paperwork in Manhattan Supreme Court on Thursday.

"After 12 years of marriage, we have decided to go our separate ways," said the couple in a join statement to E! News. "We will always have tremendous respect for each other and our families. We have five beautiful children together and they remain our top priority. We ask for your privacy during this time."

Vanessa reportedly filed for an uncontested proceeding, which means it's not likely she'll fight Donald Jr. for custody over their children or assets.

President Trump has yet to comment on the separation.

At Least Four Have Died After A Bridge Collapse In Florida

A newly installed pedestrian bridge in Miami — which was apparently built to provide Florida International University students a safe way to cross the busy roadway — collapsed on Thursday afternoon, trapping a minimum of eight cars underneath. At least four people were killed, but the total death count is uncertain as of Thursday night. A number of other people reported injuries at Kendall Regional Medical Center.

The $14.2 million bridge was constructed last Saturday, according to CBS News. The cause of the collapse was not immediately clear. Munilla Construction Management, the construction company that built the bridge, took to Twitter with a statement on Thursday, adding that it would launch an investigation into the matter.

Florida International University originally touted the bridge as  "the first in the world to be constructed entirely of self-cleaning concrete."

According to a tweet, the University is still "involved in rescue efforts and gathering information."

Special Counsel Robert Mueller Subpoenaed The Trump Organization

The New York Timesreported on Thursday that special counsel Robert Mueller subpoenaed the Trump Organization — the primary holding company for various Trump business entities — for Russia-related documents.

According to ABC News, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders referred reporters asking about the matter to the Trump Organization. Alan S. Futerfas, attorney for the organization, released a statement on Thursday, adding that the group intends to cooperate with the investigation.

"Since July 2017, we have advised the public that the Trump Organization is fully cooperative with all investigations, including the Special Counsel, and is responding to their requests," Futerfas said. "This is old news and our assistance and cooperation with the various investigations remains the same today."

The subpoena is the latest development in Mueller's nearly year-long investigation into possible collusion between Russia and the Trump campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

7 Ways To Practice Body Positivity Every Day

$
0
0

Somehow, starting who knows how long ago, an annoying voice set up a rent-free space in your brain and began its full-time job: yacking at you about everything that it doesn’t deem to be “perfect” and about everything that could be “changed” to make you “prettier,” “happier” and “more worthy.” And it’s hard not to listen to it. It commands attention every time you look in the mirror and whenever you’re scrolling through social media, comparing yourself to someone else’s highlight reel.

But that voice doesn’t deserve power anymore. It doesn't deserve to be listened to. It’s time to replace it with a voice that’s stronger and more loving.

Body positivity is a movement that unites us in recognizing that all bodies are of value and worthy of praise and celebration. It’s about loving and caring for yourself, and uplifting others in the same pursuit. The movement also challenges the notion that there’s one “perfect” body form. We’re all invited to redefine beauty so that it captures the entire range of what makes each of us unique and beautiful.

Choosing to become body positive doesn’t have to turn into a daunting journey you embark on — it can be fueled by small things you do daily. Rather than striving for perfection, it can be about striving for progress.

On that note, here are some token habits you can start doing to fill up with some body-positive goodness:

1. Repeat mantras to yourself

This may seem silly when you first try it, but repeating positive affirmations to yourself, especially while looking in the mirror, can revolutionize your mindset and how you see yourself. The messages we tell ourselves are what manifest in reality; what we think, we become. Tell yourself I’m young and beautiful, right here, right now, or I was born in this body for a reason, or I see beauty everywhere I look, and I see it right now.

“You have a mind, a heart and a creative spirit. You’re in control and can create the life you dream,” says founder of EMPOWERED and creator of FITWeek Emily Cook Harris. Check out some more powerful mantras here.

2. Do more of the things that make you happy

Doing the things that bring you joy, no matter how small or quirky they may be, puts you in a zone where you’re not thinking about anything else but the task at hand. You become confident in what you’re doing, and the fact that you’re doing it for yourself raises self-esteem. You’re so much more than just an image; you’re a walking embodiment of passion for the things you care about, and that’s what stops others in their tracks. Like the wise Emma Stone once said, “I can’t think of any better representation of beauty than someone who is unafraid to be herself.”

3. Get your yoga on

Yoga is magical. It makes you more aware of your body and by the end of it, you’re left with this feeling of self-love and gratitude that’s priceless. Even if you have time to do only a couple of stretches and poses, throw on a relaxing Spotify playlist (We recommend “Relax & Focus”) and do it! You’d be surprised by how strong and flexible your body is, and how it serves to function for you, rather than being an aspect that gets in your way. “I’ve recently just started yoga and I’m focusing it on bringing more positivity into my life,” says Ashley Drayton, a graduate of Georgia State University. “I’m learning that having time for myself every day and paying attention to my body goes a long way.”

4. Sprinkle love and compliments wherever you go

Yes, we’re aware of how cheesy that sounds, but it’s so underrated. Complimenting others requires us to look for the good in them, and in doing so, we start to see the good in ourselves, too. Be a source of positivity for others, and spread those good vibes! They’ll come right back around to you.

And the same goes for complimenting yourself as well! “Something I love to do every year is come up with one physical aspect of my body that I love every month,” says Emmanuel University senior Autumn Dube. “Whether it's my hair, booty, or smile, I dedicate that month to focusing on loving that part of myself.”

5. Instead of judging your body for what it looks like, thank it for all it does for you

Finding flaws in the mirror is easy, but what gives you real strength, power and ownership of all you got goin’ on is when you can turn that around and focus on how amazing your body actually is. Acknowledge that your body is here to serve you, and recognize just how blessed you are to be housed in it. “I love to focus on what my body can do and accomplish, instead of how I wish it looked. For example, instead of thinking ‘I wish I had smaller thighs,’ I think, ‘My thighs let me run five miles,’” James Madison University senior Molly Crum says.

So trust your body – it’s not out to get you. Love it and listen to it. “By focusing on daily actions of self-love and health, you begin to love your body on a deeper level because you’re taking care of it,” says Emily Cook Harris. “If your friend was sick, you’d take care of them. Have that same love towards yourself. Treat your body like it belongs to someone you love.”

6. Collect and surround yourself with inspirational body-positive messages

Post little notes around your room, follow motivational accounts on social media and collect uplifting quotes and articles! Surround yourself with positivity on a daily basis, and you’ll start to see it within yourself and all around. Beverly Hills psychiatrist and author Carole Lieberman, M.D. also recommends “putting photos on your wall of women who have achieved great success, despite not looking like Barbie.”

7. Get rid of your scale, and track your actions instead

“I love my scale! It makes me feel great!”... said no one ever. “The scale is a confidence thief, and it’s not giving you the whole story. All it’s showing you is your relationship to gravity. The body is made up of bones, muscles, joints, ligaments, tendons, organs, glands, cells, arteries, veins, blood and more… Why are we weighing all this?!” says Emily Cook Harris. “Focus less on the aesthetics and more on the actions. Track those. Celebrate those. When we give away our power to the “outcome” or the “result” we are missing out on the power in what we can do now.” So limit the power you give to numbers on a scale and instead, give power to yourself. Be proud and excited about all that you’re doing to get yourself closer to your goal.

Just for a second, take a moment to think about what the older version of yourself would be telling you if she was sitting across from you right now. She’d probably be gleaming with pride, seeing you take the steps toward owning the strong, fierce, beautiful human that you are, always have been and always will be. Life gives you keys to unlock parts of yourself you didn’t know were there. Maybe this journey of self-love is one of those times.

“You’re a fiery soul, a brilliant mind and a passionate heart in a strong body. Be that girl. And approach your life with that fire.”- Emily Cook Harris

If it wasn't already exciting enough that there's been talk of a Spice Girls reunion, Victoria Beckham is launching a new skincare line! She revealed the news in a Facebook live session, reports New Beauty.

"I am currently in the process of creating my own color, my own line of skincare creams and a perfume," she says. "As a woman, I want to make the things that I need in my life, the things that are missing."

Considering how gorgeous her makeup collab with Estée Lauder back in 2016 turned out, we can only imagine how much beauty and class she'll bring to these new skincare products. While New Beauty reports that it's currently unclear whether she'll be partnering with Estée Lauder again, the possibility does sound quite promising. "I loved working with Estée Lauder. It was a huge success," she says. "It was me developing what I wanted in my makeup bag. I’m developing my own skincare and fragrance now—I make what I want in my life. It’s filling a gap."

If there's one thing for sure, it's that there's going to be a huge gap in my wallet after I throw all my money at this new line. There's nothing more fab than a good skincare routine, not to mention from Posh Spice herself!

Whether you’re studying intensely for midterms or trying to forget their looming existence, you can’t help but daydream about the spring break vacation that’s just around the corner. In the event that you’re headed somewhere warm and tropical, or just looking to spice up your workout, you’re in luck! Her Campus recently teamed up with Lissa Bankston, Nina Dobrev’s trainer and Reebok athlete, to bring you the perfect moves you can do anywhere and anytime. All you need is yourself and the motivation to get through these fun, muscle-building exercises.

If you’re looking at the workout below and don’t think you can conquer it, Bankston recommends being active throughout the entire day instead of designating a specific time for exercise. “We tend to keep workouts to a specific time frame with a specific response on the body (sweat, burn, sore, breathing heavy) to identify success. Instead, commit to having fun and being active,” she says.

“The best part about a spring break environment is that you are with your friends! So make it fun and keep moving!  Play kickball at sunset every night (who knows, you could draw a crowd and meet new people), swim in the ocean, bike to restaurants and shopping.  If you are rough on your body, this is also great active recovery!"

Bear crawl

Mountain climbers

Gorilla crawl

Surfer hops

Crab crawl

Bulgarian lunges

Squats

Dips

Plank walks

And after you’ve finished your workout or have been active all day, don’t forget to let loose and have fun! Bankston’s advice? “Bar hop! Never post up at a beach bar,” she says. “[Have] one drink max and then move on and explore. There is way too much fun to be had than to sit in one place!”

Stay hydrated, have fun and take lots of pictures, collegiettes. You only get so many spring breaks!

Demi Lovato has had a tumultuous past: she suffered from an eating disorder, was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and endured substance addiction. But she's come out on top, taking herself out of seriously bad situations. On Thursday, the mental health advocate took to Twitter to announce a major milestone in her recovery—being six years sober!

Demi has been very vocal about her struggles, which in recent years she's even tied it into her performances. During her shows, she takes a moment to discuss her struggle, and the struggle of others also battling with their mental health. Demi even holds workshops before her shows that allow attendees the opportunity to discuss their own mental health or have a better understanding of someone else's suffering.

As someone who suffers from mental health issues, it's inspiring to see someone like Demi be so vocal about seeking help, and knowing that it's okay to do so. I sometimes feel like a proud friend watching her flourish, and create goals and reach them. Demi Lovato is an inspiration to anyone who is looking to create a healthy and bountiful life, despite the obstacles they have faced.

6 down, Demi! You've got this.

Lush's 'Trans Rights Are Human Rights' Campaign Teaches You How to Be a Trans Ally

Although Lush's #TransRightsAreHumanRights campaign throughout their North American stores technically ended in February, the handmade cosmetics company has set up an incredible amount of support for the transgender community that will reverberate for years. Lush is known for having a charitable heart: they create handmade products with 100 percent of the proceeds donated to small organizations fighting for the environment, animal welfare and human rights (see: Charity Pot lotion), and they use their platform to give ethical campaigns a voice on a wider scale.

In their latest human rights ethical campaign, Lush partnered with the National Center for Transgender Equality and the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity to not only educate the community on transgender rights, but also to spread awareness on how to become an ally. With a goal to raise $450,000, Lush released their exclusive Inner Truth Bath Melt, donating 100 percent of the purchase price to organizations working to advance and secure trans rights. But the supported echoed in more ways than one. These partners didn't just raise money to support trans rights: they provided a platform for the transgender community whose stories needed to be heard.

So, in order to share their stories even further, learn more about the campaign and how we can all become a trans ally, we spoke to Mara Keisling, the Founder and Executive Director of the National Center for Transgender Equality. Celebrating 15 years since the founding, Keisling has served as a prominent leader for the transgender community, winning significant advances for transgender equality.

“It's such a wonderful comprehensive campaign," says Keisling when asked about the #TransRightsAreHumanRights campaign. "[Lush] worked with us, with other individuals and organizations, [and they] truly learned all they could. They talked to their own employees, and you wouldn't normally think of this as a part of the campaign, but it was such a key part."

So, what were some of the biggest aspects of the campaign?

"They trained people to be trainers."

Because it's so incredibly important to use the right language with respect to the trans community, it was especially crucial for this campaign that everyone involved was trained on trans issues.

"What they did is they trained everybody throughout their organization and trained them to think about how they might talk about trans issues with customers, their family, etc.," says Keisling. "So they not only trained people, but they trained people to be trainers." Throughout the length of the campaign, store windows full of bright colors and bubbles were replaced with quotes from the mouths of transgender and non-binary Lush employees who needed to be heard. Booklets that detailed how to become a trans ally were distributed in shops all across North America, and online resources were created.

"I went into the Lush store in Nashville, Tennessee, and as I got close to the store, there was a bench out in the mall and there was a guy sitting on it reading the How to Be a Trans Ally book," says Keisling. "It just got me so amazed and excited."

A custom #TransRightsAreHumanRights profile picture filter was made for social media, where followers could experience the movement and watch a series of short films. Many took to social media to share their stories, share words of thanks and spread the love for the trans community.

Not only did these organizations seek to raise money in support: they sought to provide a platform for the transgender community to share their stories and feel the love.

"I was talking to a parent, and her daughter is probably about 11," Keisling shares. "And they went off to the Lush store near them and the daughter was just in heaven. She so proudly bought an Inner Truth Bath Melt, and she went home and just immediately wanted to take a bath."

The Inner Truth Bath Melt, a blue and pink heart, not only reflects the colors of the transgender pride flag, but it also melts into a beautiful purple (a non-binary color) once it hits the tub.

"[When her mom] came in to just check up on her to see how happy she was," Keisling continues, "she had taken the [heart-shaped] bath melt and instead of just melting it right away, she was pushing it against her arm and neck and cheeks and she was making hearts on herself because Lush loved her. I had never anticipated that, just a little kid saying somebody likes me, not in spite of me being trans, but because I’m trans. And for a little kid, that has to be absolutely life-changing."

So, how can you be an ally to the trans community and help change someone else's life?

"An important part of ally-ship is to let the people you’re being an ally to have their own power."

Being a trans ally is more than just saying you're a trans ally. It's about respecting pronouns, being patient with those questioning their identity and more.

"One of the things that’s really great about this Lush campaign is at its heart, it’s about inclusion," says Keisling. "It’s about saying that there are lots of different kinds of people, here’s one kind, but [they're still] people. And we should all respect each other, live together and know about each other. And that’s the most important part of being an ally. That’s why Lush has so quickly become the model of that ally-ship for trans people."

Rather than just hearing trans voices, make a conscious effort to listen to them as well.

"[Lush] let trans people speak, and an important part of ally-ship is to let the people you’re being an ally to have their own power and have their own voice, and Lush is really good about that," Keisling explains.

"Treat people like you want to be treated."

Along with being an ally to the trans community, you also can play a role in educating others and spreading the kindness.

"Listen and learn," says Keisling. "Just always understand the golden rule: treat people like you want to be treated."

One important aspect of the campaign that Keisling calls attention to was that it wasn't just a "hit-and-run" type of situation. Going all-in with 100 percent effort––the campaign was only the beginning.

"They set up this whole campaign so that it’s not just a hit-and-run kind of, ‘Yay, we were nice to trans people for a couple weeks, now we can move on,'" Keisling explains. "They’ve actually set it up to financially support the trans movement in the United States and Canada in ways that are just going to reverberate for years."

And for all those involved, whether they be the Lush employees or customers, Keisling leaves you with this: “To Lush customers, I hope [you] take away that trans people are part of society and we need to be treated right. To all the Lushies, the level of my thanks, I just can’t express. [You] should know that [you've] made a real difference and [you] are so lucky that [you] get to work at a place where [you] get to make a difference that way, and I hope [you] know that.”

Just as Lush, the National Center for Transgender Equality and the Canadian Centre for Gender and Sexual Diversity have come together to create a movement that will have an immensely positive effect on the trans community for years to come, you can make a difference for someone today by becoming a trans ally.

Ava DuVernay, the director responsible for Selma and A Wrinkle in Time, has made history in being the first African-American female director to receive a Golden Globe nomination and have a film nominated for a Best Picture Oscar. Now, she is continuing to leave a mark on history by being the first woman of color to direct a DC Comics film.

DuVernay will lead the superhero epic New Gods for Warner Bros.—a complex intergalactic tale which introduces several new characters from the twin worlds New Genesis, a lush nirvana, and Apokolips, a brutal hell. The comic was created and designed by Jack Kirby, and first released in 1971.

Entertainment Weekly notes that DuVernay is also the first woman of color to direct a live-action movie with a production budget north of $100 million with A Wrinkle in Time.

New Gods would be a major addition to the DC Extended Universe, which Warner Bros. launched in 2013 to compete with Disney’s Marvel Universe. It was first launched in 2013 with Man of Steel, then followed by Suicide Squad, Wonder Woman and Justice League, gaining $657.9 million worldwide according to Variety.

I am excited for this film and I honestly can't wait to see how New Godswill turn out! #GirlPower
