Mindy Kaling Is Creating a Hulu Series Based on 'Four Weddings & a Funeral'

I don't know about you, but British rom-coms from the '90s and early 2000s are some of my favorite films ever. If you've seen anything starring Hugh Grant in his most beautiful days, you probably feel the same. The star got his big break in the 1994 film Four Weddings and a Funeral, permanently winning over my heart as the perfect British gentleman watching his friends get married.

Mindy Kaling has a similar fondness for rom-coms, and her newest project will use Four Weddings... as inspiration. The Hollywood Reporter says that Kaling is working on a Hulu anthology series remake of the film that will introduce a different storyline each season. With this in the works, I'm officially prepared for a world without The Mindy Project.

Writing the show with her Mindy Project showrunner Matt Warburton, Kaling will also executive produce with Four Weddings writer Richard Curtis, who's the mind behind films like Love Actually, Notting Hill and About Time. If that partnership isn't enough to make you excited about this project, your heart is clearly made of ice.

Nothing about the show's casting or release date has been revealed yet, but I have so much faith in Kaling to make this absolutely amazing. This world needs a little more rom-com goodness.

Several 'House of Cards' Employees Say That Kevin Spacey Sexually Harassed People on Set

At least eight current or former employees of House of Cards have reported that lead actor Kevin Spacey made the work environment feel "toxic" through his "predatory" actions of sexual harassment. CNN says that a former production assistant even said that Spacey sexually assaulted him during the show's early years.

The workers come forward with their experiences following actor Anthony Rapp revealing that Spacey made sexual advances toward him when Rapp was only 14 years old. After Rapp shared his story, Netflix first announced that the upcoming season of House of Cards would be its last, and then suspended its production in order to ask its cast and crew about any concerning encounters with Spacey.

The former PA who spoke with CNN said that he was once assigned to pick up Spacey in a car and escort him to set. While the two were just minutes away from work, a driving Spacey put his hands down the PA's pants. "I was in a state of shock," the PA said. "He was a man in a very powerful position on the show and I was someone very low on the totem pole and on the food chain there."

Once on set, the PA helped Spacey carry his things from the car to the star's trailer. Alone together in the trailer, Spacey then initiated "inappropriate contact" with the assistant. When the assistant told Spacey that he wasn't comfortable, Spacey was "visibly flustered" and left the set for the rest of the day. The incident occurred months after the same PA had told a supervisor that Spacey was sexually harassing him. Although it was ensured that the PA and Spacey were never alone together as a result of the complaint, Spacey's behavior had reportedly calmed enough for the assistant to feel comfortable in working with him again.

"I have no doubt that this type of predatory behavior was routine for him and that my experience was one of many and that Kevin had few if any qualms about exploiting his status and position," the assistant told CNN. "It was a toxic environment for young men who had to interact with him at all in the crew, cast, background actors."

Netflix reportedly only knew about one sexual harassment incident with Spacey about five years ago, which the company believed "was resolved swiftly." In a statement about the eight people's allegations, Netflix said that it "is not aware of any other incidents involving Kevin Spacey on set. We continue to collaborate with MRC and other production partners to maintain a safe and respectful working environment. We will continue to work with MRC during this hiatus time to evaluate our path forward as it relates to the production, and have nothing further to share at this time."

MRC, House of Cards' production company, provided further insight into what could be the sexual harassment situation Netflix alluded to. "During our first year of production in 2012, someone on the crew shared a complaint about a specific remark and gesture made by Kevin Spacey," the company's statement said. "Immediate action was taken following our review of the situation and we are confident the issue was resolved promptly...Mr. Spacey willingly participated in a training process and since that time MRC has not been made aware of any other complaints involving Mr. Spacey."

Other former crew members said that, despite receiving information about sexual harassment, Spacey's touching mostly occurred in open spaces and that his inappropriate behavior was well known. Workers never complained in fear of losing employment. "What gets me is we have to sign sexual harassment paperwork before the start of the show and apparently [Spacey] doesn't have to do anything and he gets away scott-free with this behavior," said a former camera assistant.

Earlier this week, former employees of London's Old Vic Theatre, where Spacey served as artistic director for 11 years, also accused him of sexual misconduct. In response to more allegations appearing against him, Spacey's publicist announced on Wednesday, "Kevin Spacey is taking the time necessary to seek evaluation and treatment. No other information is available at this time."

We’ve all been there: You’re running to Starbucks between classes, and you see someone you haven’t talked to in a while. “I’m late for class,” you say, “but we’ll definitely have to grab lunch soon!” If you’re an expert at canceling plans, of course, you have no intention of following up on your promise. Chances are, you can relate to the rest of this list as well. Shout out to all of the notoriously flaky girls—this one is for you.

1. Once you put on your comfy clothes, there’s no going back.

2. Sleep > socializing.

3. There is no better feeling than clearing your calendar of all social commitments.

4. You’re often referred to as the “flaky” one in your friend group…

5. But you prefer the term “spontaneous.”

6. The “Sorry, I just saw this!” text is your best friend.

7. You know you can always blame your absence on PMS.

8. And that sometimes the best way to cancel is to just not respond.

9. People tend to get irritated when you cancel at the last minute…

10. But that doesn’t stop you from telling it like it is.

11. Your idea of a perfect Friday night involves Netflix, takeout, and being by yourself.

12. You’re definitely not anti-social—you just don’t like to commit.

13. You cherish the rare occasions when the other person cancels on you.

14. When you actually follow through on plans, your friends are genuinely surprised.

15. Even though you can be unreliable, you’re always there when a friend really needs you.

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

TripAdvisor Apologizes for Deleting a Woman's Resort Review Accounting Her Rape

The New York Times reports that TripAdvisor has apologized for repeatedly removing a woman's review of a Mexican resort that included her experience of a security guard raping her. 35-year-old Kristie Love's 2010 story was included in a Journal Sentinel investigation on TripAdvisor removing travelers' reviews about rapes and assaults at hotels. The Milwaukee paper discovered that two other women were sexually assaulted at the same resort. In addition to restoring Love's comment to the resort's review page, TripAdvisor released a statement saying, "We are horrified that this victim experienced this assault on her vacation in Mexico, and other travelers should be aware of this incident." The site claims that Love's original review was removed because "all language needed to be G-rated," but now says that its review policy has changed. Over a dozen users ultimately reported that TripAdvisor removed their reviews at some point.

Trump Calls Japan a "Warrior Nation" Before His Visit

Days before departing on his five-country, 12-day trip to Asia, President Donald Trump announced his support for Japan amidst both countries' rising tensions with North Korea in regards to possible nuclear threats. Calling Japan a "warrior nation," Trump said about its geographical closeness to North Korea, "They should be worried. I tell China, and I tell everyone else that listens...you're going to have yourself a big problem with Japan pretty soon if you allow this to continue with North Korea." Trump also said that he believes his trip to Asia "is one of the more important trips a president has made."

Jimmy Fallon Has a New Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream Flavor

Following the success of his ice cream flavor The Tonight Dough, Jimmy Fallon has partnered with Ben & Jerry's once again to release the new flavor Marshmallow Moon. Apparently Marshmallow Moon has been in the works for awhile, and Ben & Jerry's even considered launching it instead of Tonight Dough. Based on what's in the new concoction, I can see why. Marshmallow Moon consists of vanilla ice cream with marshmallows, graham cracker swirls and fudge flakes. Fallon will donate his proceeds from the flavor's sales to the SeriousFun Children's Network, which is a recreational camp for kids with serious illnesses. Marshmallow Moon is only available for a short time in a limited number of stores, so track it down when you still can!

Could a Piercing Cure Your Headache? Migraine Sufferers Might Be Able To Feel As Good As They Look

What if I told you that the only thing standing between you and a cure to intense headaches and migraines was a piercing? You'd probably say I'm crazy, right? However, recent piercing trends and even an essay by a University of Florida health neurologist say otherwise!

Fox 25 Boston reports that a simple daith piercing could be the key to alleviating headaches. The daith, or the innermost fold of cartilage in your ear, has become a popular place to get a piercing recently. So, how on earth does this (hella cute) piercing hold the magic to making the pain disappear? University of Florida health neurologist Edward Neely discussed the topic in an essay presented to the American Headache Society back in June and offers his explanation as to why a daith piercing may be exactly what you need.

“I've seen some patients with good response and other with virtually no response,” says Neely in a report by Action News Jax. Neely explains that daith piercings go through the vagus nerve, "so, potentially piercing that nerve can act like a permanent acupuncture needle." Neely even says that one patient has been headache free for at least 18 months (Uh, sign me tf up?!).

Paula Nicholls, a woman featured by Action news Jax, says that she's experienced pain from migraine headaches since second grade. Within a minute of receiving a daith piercing in her left ear, Nicholls said that the pain in the left side of her face was no more.

"I usually have a lot of sinus pressure and a lot of pressure near my face, but I automatically felt the difference between the left side and my right side, and it feels more free on this side and it feels absolutely amazing," says Nicholls.

Kelly Buscher, a professional piercer who worked on Nicholls, explains that although piercings such as the daith piercing are nothing new, the trend of seeking out headache relief in different ways has grown in the past year.

"A lot of people are tired of the medications, Botox, so they're using this as one of the last resorts and taking a jump to see if it works," Buscher tells Action News Jax.

Neely does note that the procedure may not work for everyone, but hey, it's worth a shot, and you get a new piercing out of it!

These Teens are Hiding in Bushes, Dressed as Bushes to Terrify Townsfolk & You're Doing Amazing, Sweeties

Two New Jersey teens have stirred up quite a controversy lately in the town of Rahway, all because of a harmless prank. However, this prank was enough to leave the town divided between either team bushmen or team anti-bushmen—and the Facebook reactions will give you enough laughs to cover your next ab workout.

The prank, which involved two teens dressing up in ghillie suits to hide in the bushes, brought some joy and fright to those passing by in a Rahway public park, VICE reports. Apparently, the teens camouflaged themselves in the bushes and would move around and speak to each other, even going as far as standing up and saying hello to parkgoers. People quickly took to the community Facebook page, inquiring about the mysterious bushmen.

Rahway resident Rose Northcott began a thread for discussion on the page, writing, "Just wondering, has anyone else seen the random 'bushmen' at Rahway River Park?"

Residents were clearly divided, as some opposed to the prank responded with comments such as, "I don't think I'd be laughing if I was walking alone and was startled by these people... I'd find it frightening," or, "Hope they don’t jump out @ the wrong person." One person went as far to even say that this harmless prank could cause a heart attack.

Others came to the defense of the bushmen, with one resident commenting, "They don’t JUMP out. They talk in funny bush voices... and you can’t see where they’re coming from... it’s funny not scary. I was there." Two of their supporters even stopped to snap a quick pic with the two pranksters, who created their own Facebook page to respond to residents, commenting on the photo, "if you didnt [sic] see us its because we were lazy well [sic] do better next time."

VICE was able to get in contact with Northcott, who explained that she believed the teens were totally harmless.

"All of a sudden I heard two bushes just randomly start talking to each other," Northcott tells VICE. "At first I thought my mind was just playing games with me, and then all of a sudden one of them stood up. All he did was say 'hi,''' Northcott continued. "It was the funniest thing that ever happened to me."

Unfortunately, not everyone found it as funny as Northcott did, as the number of patrolling units of the Union County Police Department were increased after the incident, Nj.com reports. The bushmen are to be arrested if they are caught keeping up their antics.

I don't know who these teens are or what inspired this prank, but I'm proud of them.

Lais Ribeiro Will Wear This Year's $2 Million Victoria's Secret Fantasy Bra, & She's Going to SLAY

With the sometimes shocking price tags on Victoria's Secret bras and panties, you'll be surprised to know that the most expensive things aren’t even in the store––we're talking about the $2 million Fantasy Bra. At this year's Victoria's Secret Fashion Show, which airs on CBS November 28, the iconic Champagne Nights Fantasy Bra will be even more elaborate and expensive than usual. Some of the biggest names in the model industry have previously had the honor of wearing it, and now they have bestowed that honor on Lais Ribeiro.

"Who doesn't dream about wearing the Fantasy Bra––I mean it's an honor to be among Gisele [Bündchen], Candice [Swanepoel], Adriana [Lima], and all the big top models who have worn it in the past," the veteran Angel told People.

I'm sorry but the pictures will just keep coming!

A post shared by Lais Ribeiro (@laisribeiro) on

Ribeiro is only 27 years old and has already walked in the show six times. The bra itself weighs more than 600 karats, is made out of diamonds, yellow sapphires and blue topaz in 18 karat gold, and all gems have been fixed by jeweler Mouawad on a custom Victoria’s Secret Dream Angels Demi Bra.

With nearly 6,000 precious gemstones, the bra took 350 hours to create and fit to Ribeiro's body. After they surprised her, she said she "never cried so much in her entire life." Honestly, we would've been crying too. Her entire family was just as excited as she was, getting a behind-the-scenes look at the bra on Facetime. She said, “They’re jumping; my sister dropped the phone. It was amazing.”

I meaannnnn

A post shared by Lais Ribeiro (@laisribeiro) on

While wearing the Fantasy Bra is probably the ultimate life goal, Ribeiro actually previously wanted to work as a nurse at first. “I’m from a very tiny city in Brazil and I knew Gisele and Adriana and Alessandra, but I wasn’t into the fashion world until I was in it. I was supposed to be a nurse, but when I was introduced to modeling it changed. I was like, ‘I want to be a Victoria’s Secret model.’ Who doesn’t wanna be? And now I’m just amazed to be one of them.”

Ribeiro has come a long way -- From her tiny city in Brazil to the Mercedez Benz Arena in Shanghai! We can’t wait to see the show––and this elaborate bra––on November 28.

Ilana Glazer & Phoebe Robinson Just Dropped 'Yas Queen' Merch, & We Need It All

Broad City’s Ilana Glazer and comedian Phoebe Robinson are the guests of honor for Wildfang’s new limited edition collaboration. Aptly called “Yas, Queen Yas”, the collection includes tote bags, snapbacks, notebooks, t-shirts and bomber jackets, all created by designer Robin Eisenberg.

Glazer gave Refinery29 some details about the line's conception. “The line was inspired by the ‘YAS QUEEN’ phrase, [which] originates from queer people of color in the 1980’s drag ball culture, and dat vogue-ing tip.” Basically, you can think of this merch as a new way to celebrate today's intersectional feminist movement!

The YQY merch definitely gives us nostalgia at it’s best––you can almost smell the cigarette smoke and leather of the '80s with these designs. Colorful neons add a bold attitude that every queen should possess, and with the signature YQY embroidered, you can practically feel the crown on your head.

Glazer and Robinson are set to go on their 11-city stand up comedy tour titled (you guessed it) "Yas, Queen Yas." YQY merch is currently available at Wildfang.com, so shop your favorite feminist saying while you can!

7 Pieces of Gender-Neutral Clothing Everyone Should Own

When did you first realize that gender was a thing? Were you given barbies and painted a pink room? Were you told that playing with toy trucks was a boy activity? In today’s society, it feels like everything is gender conforming––especially fashion. However, not every person fits the constructed category of "boy" or "girl," so having gender-neutral clothing options is v important in terms of representation.

Going into a store, it is pretty easy to see the separated departments (how could you not when "men" and "women" hang in bold letters over the racks?), but these two clothing sections don't have to be definitive. You can shop anywhere and anything you want, and borrowing clothes from the opposite sex is a great idea if it means feeling more comfortable in your own skin. Sounds a lot simpler right? If you’re looking for a place to start with buying clothes that are gender-neutral (even if they are marketed with a specific sex in mind), here are a few essential pieces to kick off your new wardrobe.

1. Wool-blend Coat (H&M, $99)

Sizes: 34R-52R

This coat found in H&M’s men’s section is essential as winter approaches. Coats are the best way to dress up an outfit and stay warm at the same time. The model wears the coat with a sweatshirt and flannel, a great way to make a classic piece edgy.

2.  Eckford Box Pocket Tee (Wildfang, $35)

Sizes: S-2XL

Wildfang is breaking all boundaries with gendered clothes and creating affordable items for everyone. This classic tee not only has a vintage look, but is also 100 percent cotton for a cozy and comfortable feel.

3. Six Crisp Days Glasgow Turtleneck Midi Dress (Urban Outfitters, $109)

Sizes: XS/S, M/L

This cozy olive dress can be worn in so many ways. Paired with military boots, flats, jeans––it is very versatile and stylish. Throw on a leather jacket over it for an edgy touch, or add a pointed toe shoe for a classic look.

4.  Sherpa Jacket (Muttonhead, $243)

Sizes: S-XL

Muttonhead has promised to make all of their clothes gender free since 2009. This Canadian brand creates clothes perfect for hiking and cold weather, and this jacket specifically is the perfect throwback style to give you a retro look.

5. PG+CO Unisex Trousers (Photo/Genics + Co, $180)

Sizes: S-L

The clothes from this brand are originally designed with the intention to break the gender stereotype. Like these amazing trousers (which you def need), the brand has a variety or gender neutral sweaters, shirts and jackets.

6. Dickies X UO Cutoff 874 Work Pant (Urban Outfitters, $49.00)

Sizes: 30-36

These versatile work pants can add to style to any button up, sweater or even just a t-shirt. Wear with heeled boots or sneakers and get a perfect effortlessly-cool outfit.

7. Bee-Print Short Sleeves (Gender Free World, $69)

Sizes: See Size Guide

Gender Free World is dedicated to creating clothes that can be accessed and worn by everyone. This bumble shirt can go with any pair of jeans, slacks, trousers or skirts for a fun and flirty vibe. According to the website, it will also fit perfectly because of their unique size guide.

Just a disclaimer that this collection of suggestions contained both gender-neutral and non-gender-neutral brands because, frankly, there are not many affordable unisex clothing suppliers options out there. This is frustrating for anyone looking for non-gendered clothes, because tbh, most of those brands are high fashion and cost hundreds of dollars. We hope that one day every brand will be able to sell gender-neutral clothes, remove separated areas in their stores and make pieces like the above affordable for everyone. Fashion doesn't have to be elite or conforming, so let's move closer to that utopia.

Jennifer Lawrence & Kim Kardashian Tell All About J. Law's Drunk & Naked Night in Kris Jenner's Closet

Jennifer Lawrence took full advantage of guest hosting Jimmy Kimmel Live Thursday night as she interviewed her reality show idol Kim Kardashian. J. Law is a known Kardashian superfan, which made her excitement all the more real as she rattled off questions, starting with, “Do you think it’s a coincidence that Reggie Bush’s wife looks just like you?”

"This is going to be fun," Kim laughed. "Probably not for you," Jennifer said.

After sharing how they met, the two laughed like old friends and reminisced on a more recent memory of a dinner they attended at Kris Jenner’s house. And when I say house, I mean the mansion of my dreams.

“So Jennifer came over for dinner two weeks ago,” Kim shared. “I’ve never seen my mom more drunk in our lives. It was so funny.” Apparently, Jennifer had one too many martinis—five to be exact—and ended up naked in Kris’s closet. Yes, you read that correctly. And yes, I’m jealous too.

Lawrence filled in the blanks on her wild night with the Kardashians. “I remember getting naked in your mom’s closet and ordering you to dress me. You dressed me fabulously, I looked amazing.” Kim's husband, Kanye West, almost joined in on the styling but took a back seat when they found out Jennifer had fully stripped down. “[It] was everything I could’ve ever dreamed of,” J. Law said proudly of the night.

Then she continued on with her interview questions. A couple highlights were “How did you pick your surrogate, and why didn’t you ask me?” and “Have you talked to O.J. [Simpson] since he’s gotten out of prison?” Not too many answers were revealed, but the two celebs appeared to genuinely enjoy themselves.

And if that’s just a taste of what happens at Kris Jenner’s dinner parties, how do I get an invite?

Sarah Hyland Is Not Here for You to Talk About Her Face 'Transformation'

Celebrities get criticized for pretty much everything they do or don’t do. Living in the spotlight would be so frustrating, especially with how open media can be regarding celebrity rumor speculation. Just imagine not being able to post anything without thousands of people immediately having an opinion about. It’s no wonder that Sarah Hyland has never been one for internet trolls, and she definitely had no time to deal when a publication offered it's opinion about her appearance.

Life & Style recently published an entire article dedicated to discussing Hyland’s face, though it has since been updated according to her response. Not only did it originally talk about the changes in her face over the last 10 years, but it contained expert opinionsabout whether or not she had had plastic surgery. Imagine having professionals (with degrees and everything) just sit around and critique your face. Hyland wasn't happy about it, for obvious reasons.

Hyland took to Twitter to shed light on her frustration, and why she was so appalled at the article. As it turns out, Hyland has actually faced many medical challenges in past years, some of which have had side effects on her body, and something that is totally common when taking strong medications. She opened up about the difficulty she’s had with her health problems, saying that it was “the worst medical year” of her life.

Hyland has always been very open about her health, disclosing to the world her kidney dysplasia and her kidney transplant. Needless to say, assuming that every difference in a celebrity's appearance is due to plastic surgery––a serious issue in Hollywood––is not okay. It’s important for everyone to realize that ~outside forces~ have effects on human bodies, and that celebrity's are people with feelings and insecurities too.

Hyland has shown everyone the importance of being confident and standing up for yourself to haters.

The Dog in That Joe Keery Meme Is Not Even His, & I Feel Betrayed

Do yourself a favor and find the many memes of Stranger Things' Joe Keery holding an adorable fluffy dog. By now, you have to know the picture I'm talking about. They look like two peas in a pod.

This photo is all too relatable. For me, it’s the "Sunday Scaries." You know, when you've got a horrible hangover the morning after Saturday’s festivities but you go out in public anyway because Sunday brunch is too good to pass up and you can’t waste the day because Monday is looming. Scary, am I right?

But back to the dog in the Snapchat photo, which was taken by Joe’s Stranger Things costar Finn Wolfhard. According to Refinery29, the dog isn’t even Joe’s!

Does this make the photo any less enjoyable? No. Does this mean the little fluff ball is up for grabs? Sadly, no again. The dog belongs to a crew member, so it casually hangs around set.

Whether you feel more connected to Joe and his champagne glass or the puppy on his lap, this meme will carry us through the end of 2017, and for that I am thankful.

6 Unique Ways to Actually Achieve Work-Life Balance

$

0

Nobody said that achieving a healthy work-life balance was easy. We get it—you’ve tried everything, from doing yoga to reading more, but nothing seems to work as you try to find the balance in your life that you so crave. If you find yourself being engulfed by your job and losing your sanity, we’re here to help with a few tips that actually work to help you get one step closer to work-life balance. Trust us, there are some tips on this list that you haven’t tried before.

1. Track how you’re spending your time

There’s a strong chance that a portion of your work and life stressors are self-induced. Are the decisions you make about how you divvy up your day having a positive effect on you? Do you procrastinate more than you’d like to admit? Maybe you’re not using your time wisely.

To avoid problems with time management, take a week to log your daily activity in a journal. This includes everything from times during the day you actually get work done to what you do once you get home.

Once Sydnee Lyons, a second-year graduate student at Florida Atlantic University, realized that she dwelled on work during her time off after examining her own routine, she made a change. “I like to set aside one day a week where I don't look at work or school-related things," she says. "This really helps because I tend to always obsess about my to-do lists and I'll find myself working on something during my downtime. By designating one day that's completely work-free, I force myself to avoid any of that.”

At the end of the week, look at patterns and determine what works for you and what doesn’t. Maybe you’ll find that you have more time after work than you realize, or that there are certain times in the day when you’re most productive. All of this information is valuable and will help you become more organized with your time.

2. Make sure your finances are in check

You’re probably thinking, “What does this have to do with work-life balance?” Your stress level and inability to achieve balance could be caused by a lack of organization when it comes to your finances.

Like mentioned previously, logging your habits can help you learn a lot about yourself and how you can improve aspects of your daily living. Try taking a tally of how you spend your money in a single week—are you overspending on food and fun activities when you should be putting funds towards student loans and monthly rent? If you’re not the most financially savvy, there are a bunch of budget-tracking apps that are helpful such as Mint, Penny and Goodbudget. These apps can help take the stress and tediousness out of watching everything you spend in a month.

By being more conscious of your spending, you will be more responsible when it comes to the “life” half of work-life balance. You’ll have funds for the activities that you truly enjoy rather than finding yourself broke at the end of every month.

3. Spend your vacation time wisely—and treat it like an actual vacation!

When was the last time you actually took time off? We’re not talking about a staycation, but a real vacation.

In today’s society, we’re so afraid to use all of our allotted vacation days out of fear of appearing lazy. However, we all need some R&R on the path to career success!

At the beginning of the new year, try to pre-plan your time off so that it is spread out throughout the year. You will feel more balanced if you know that you have time off to look forward to on a somewhat regular basis (such as every few months) as opposed to taking off all your vacation at once (but if you want to do that, you do you!).

Marissa Russo, a 2015 graduate working in arts administration and education, forced herself to create a separation from work during vacation by removing work email from her phone. “I think this is a good tip for people to do over long weekends, holidays, or vacations, because you really need that time to rejuvenate and relax, free of work!” she says. “I definitely had the most relaxing and enjoyable weekend I've had since starting this job!”

4. Create a support system, and be the same for others

As hard as you try, it’s nearly impossible to find complete balance on your own. Everybody needs a support system, whether that’s friends, family or co-workers, in order to keep you in check.

Make a conscious effort to be social during the day, whether that means inviting coworkers to eat lunch with you or spending time watching The Bachelor with your roommates after a long day. You’ll find that increased social activity can boost your mood, and you won’t feel as alone when you find yourself the most stressed.

By the same token, make sure that you’re being a good friend to others. We all struggle with work-life balance to some extent! Be a good listener, and with karma, you’ll find that your friends will be more open to being a support system for you as well.

5. Do something you enjoy every day

As the saying goes, “It’s a good day to have a good day.” If you don’t like your job or you feel an overwhelming sense of anxiety on a regular basis, find something you enjoy and incorporate it into your day, no matter how small. Even if you DO like your job and like to spend a lot of time at the office, you still need time for yourself.

Alaina Leary, a social media editor, practices this mantra in her own life. She says, “I'll be working all day and going to class at night, but I'll still make even just 30 minutes to an hour to do something I enjoy. I'll usually read, sometimes I'll take a walk. It just depends how much free time I've got!”

Prepare your favorite meal and bring it to work with you. Find a creative outlet outside of work, like taking a painting class or doing a DIY project at home. Bake some cookies with your roommates. No matter the activity, it never hurts to find something enjoyable that takes your mind off of work for a short period of time.

6. Accept that you’re human

This is probably the most important, but toughest, lesson to absorb. There isn’t a “perfect” way to live your life, and no matter how many hours you put in at work, perfectionist tendencies do more harm than good. By accepting your imperfections, it will be a lot easier to let go of some of the stress that might consume you.

Haleigh Kopinski, who works in social media, realized that there wasn’t a perfect or easy way to conduct her work and personal lives, but by limiting usage of her phone, she could take a small step towards balance. “One way that has really helped me (and my relationship) is leaving my phone at home when I go out to dinner," she says. "At least once a month my boyfriend and I plan a dinner date. During this time, we leave our phones at home or in the car so the distraction is completely removed. It forces us to focus on each other, which isn't happening as often as it should elsewhere.”

By accepting that parts of your work life are out of your control and focusing on small things that you can control like using your phone less often, you'll find the challenge of finding balance less daunting.

The journey towards work-life balance isn’t easy. However, there are small changes you can make like those listed above that are just as effective as obvious life changes, such as increasing physical activity.

Apparently Cats Get Acne Too, & I Finally Feel Seen

Whether you forgot take off your makeup before bed or you snacked on a little more junk food than normal, acne happens. But there’s no need to feel alone in battling your pimples, because not only does nearly every single human share this experience––your cat does too. Is it just me, or does everyone else with skin problems finally feel seen?

Alluregave a complete breakdown of cat acne via research from PetMD, and shared the different causes and treatments for your pet’s pimple. While there is no clear cause of cat acne, a few contributing factors actually aren't so different from human acne sources. According to Allure, “poor grooming habits, poor exfoliation, stress, viruses, and using plastic bowls” can all affect your cat’s complexion. So just like with your own face, make sure you are keeping your cat clean, getting them continuous vet visits, and using stainless steel food bowls. In other words, think of this as the equivalent to using quality makeup brushes and keeping your beauty tools fresh.

Knowing that our favorite felines are also inclined to breakouts is kind of a relief. In fact, cat parents everywhere have taken to Instagram to share their cat’s experiences with acne, and the results are adorable. This just goes to show that if cats with acne are cuter than cats without acne, maybe we should start thinking of our pimples as precious too!

Chicago's Sewer Grate Raccoon Icarus Is You, Me & Everyone We Know

After years in the Internet trenches, it takes a good deal to knock the wind out of me and actually make me pause what I'm doing and reflect. So when my eyes fell upon an image so transcendant, so pure and so unwaveringly relatable, I had to bring it to you, my dearest Her Campus readers.

And it's this raccoon

Found, flanked by two half-eaten slices of bread, on Thursday morning by Police officers in the city of Zion, Illinois, this raccoon had reportedly "been eating a little too well and got caught in the sewer grate." With a little bit of help from his new police officer pals and the Zion Public Works Department officers they called (because the critter was that large), the relatable lil raccoon was freed.

Who among us haven't almost buckled under the weight of our own hubris by doing just a little bit too much? Right. But, remember, he came out triumphant and, arguably, stronger for it (if that smize is any indication.)

Regardless of where you stand on the great raccoon debate (are they adorable little wizards or unholy cat-dog monsters with creepy little hands?), I defy you to look at this little chump, squished into the sewer grate like a comically old-timey bandit who regrets nothing and not have some kind of visceral reaction

Look closer, just look at his little face, and how he probably knows "yeah, maybe I done effed up a little bit" but still lets that smug smile linger. Because on that day, he ate like a king. He was a contender. That bread looks amazing.

Granted, in the age of tagging your friends in depression memes, there are frequent moments where you'll see a raccoon or a very sad bird or someone in a Shrek outfit and feel that wholly spiritual "it me" connection. Yet, I feel like I do have the authority to say that nothing on this green earth is as you (or me) than this raccoon.

TL;DR: Please just always remember that moments after being fished out of his sewer prison, this raccoon scurried off "no worse for wear" and presumably hit up another raging trash can smorgasbord a few blocks away. If he can do that, so can you.

The CMA Awards Tried to Keep the Media From Talking About the Las Vegas Shooting

After initially issuing guidelines instructing journalists “to refrain from focusing your coverage…on the Las Vegas tragedy, gun rights, political affiliations or topics of the like,” the Country Music Association has apologized and lifted the original media guidelines regarding this year’s CMA Awards ceremony, according to NBC’s Nashville affiliate, WSMV

This year’s ceremony will take place Wednesday, Nov. 8, in the wake of one of the most devastating tragedies the genre, the music industry and the nation as a whole has ever endured: the mass shooting at the Route 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas. The horrific event is the deadliest mass shooting in United States history, costing 58 people their lives and injuring around 500 others, according to CNN

The shooting has had an immense impact on country music, since it happened at a country music festival, so why did the Country Music Association threaten to revoke press credentials of journalists who asked artists about the tragedy at this year’s award ceremony? According to the association, they wanted the night to be a celebration of country music and its artists. If journalists did not follow these instructions, they would risk a security escort out.

Soon after the media guidelines were released, the association faced criticism, including from co-host Brad Paisley.

It makes sense to show sensitivity to the artists affected by the tragedy; however, to restrict all coverage seems extreme. This tragedy has brought country music to the forefront of a continuing political debate on gun control, and limiting coverage at one event won’t make that go away.

Paisley told Rolling Stone in an interview that the ceremony is a night to celebrate the achievements of their genre, but the shooting needs to be addressed in the right way to do the victims justice. "We're not going to ignore it, but we're not going to also dwell on that," he said. "We have to make sure we honor those we've lost, but we also [have to] celebrate this music, which lives on, and do a good job having the heart we need to have on that night. And also the theme of the show this year is very much about unity and coming together as a format."

After the Country Music Association lifted the guidelines and apologized, Paisley tweeted, "Bravo CMA awards for doing the right thing & apologizing for this mistake. All are welcome, let's have a great show."

Taylor Swift's 'Call It What You Want' Is Filled With Details About Boyfriend Joe Alwyn & Her Year in Hiding

Our girl Taylor Swift sure knows how to tease an album. Last night she dropped another track from her upcoming album Reputation, which comes out on Nov. 10. The song, titled "Call It What You Want," seems to be another love song about her beau Joe Alwyn—the third such tune she's released off of her new album, which suggests things are very serious between the low-profile couple.

"Call It What You Want" is packed with clues as to what the heck Taylor's been up to since she went off the radar in 2016. She opens the song referencing the plethora of drama that surrounded her before her hiatus. "My castle crumbled overnight / I brought a knife to a gunfight / They took the crown but it’s alright" is likely talking about Kimye. But it could also be about Katy Perry…or Calvin Harris. There are options.

In my opinion, the song is mostly about how she's living her best life with her new BF. She sings, "Nobody’s heard from me for months / I’m doing better than I ever was." Yes, girl—good for you.

She then seems to sing her boyfriend's praises, literally.

"Cause my baby’s fit like a daydream
Walking with his head down
I’m the one he’s walking to
So call it what you want yeah, call it what you want to
My baby’s fly like a jet stream
High above the whole scene
Loves me like I’m brand new
So call it what you want yeah, call it what you want to."

Not to mention she may or may not be referencing "Love Story" in some lyrics. She sings, "Holding my breath, slowly I said / 'You don’t need to save me / But would you run away with me?' / 'Yes.'” Sound familiar?

My 16-year-old self is losing her mind, and other OG Taylor fans feel the same.

While promoting the song on social media, T. Swift also shared some unseen moments from her very elusive life this past year. She sips wine, paints a little, plays the guitar, hangs out with her mom's dog and, of course, looks adorable AF the whole time. Basically she's living the perfect life.

Taylor Swift is a genius, point blank. TBH, I could write a senior thesis on this song it's so packed with meaning. November 10 can't come fast enough.

Mila Kunis's UPS Delivery Guy Accidentally Saw Her Topless, But She DGAF

Once you’re a mom, it's totally normal to walk around your house topless with your newborn. (Honestly, even those of us who aren't moms roam the house topless, am I right?) For Mila Kunis, that meant having a potentially awkward run-in with her neighborhood UPS guy. But it wasn't a big deal for the onscreen bad mom and real-life mom of two.

Mila told PEOPLE she “wasn’t really embarrassed,” but “felt more bad for the UPS guy” than herself. The daze that comes with parenting a newborn caused the situation. Mila was more focused on maintaining skin-to-skin contact with then days-old son Dmitri, so she didn’t think to put on a shirt before fetching a package.

"My UPS guy is really sweet, and I've had him for years, and he always [just] drops off the package, but you can see him through the glass window," Mila said. "At one point, I was just shirtless, because I was hot. I was just with my baby, and I was three days postpartum, so it still was like [I was] pregnant."

While the Bad Moms Christmas star said she was unfazed by the interaction, she admitted she felt bad for her delivery man. "I was just like, 'Hey.' Didn't even think about it, naked, skin-to-skin with my baby," she said. "And he just puts the package down and looks up. And I was like…I didn't even care."

Mila's story just goes to show that awkward moments are only awkward if you make them that way. In her eyes, there was nothing embarrassing about an intimate moment between mother and child. “I guess that could have been an embarrassing moment, but I was in bliss,” she told the magazine. “I was like, ‘My baby!’"
