Every Episode of Bachelor Arie on 'The Bachelorette' Is Now Streaming Online

Given the recent news of Bachelorette favorite Peter Kraus appearing on the franchise's new spin-off series (and explaining why he turned down the Bachelor gig), it's been a little difficult to focus on the actual Bachelor-to-be, Arie Luyendyk Jr. Not only was the pro racecar driver a pick completely out of the blue, but Arie's Bachelorette season aired way back in 2012. I don't blame anyone for not remembering him, but ABC has got Bachelor Nation's backs. Cosmopolitan reports that every episode of Arie's original season is now available for streaming on ABC.com and the network's app. Thank goodness!

Finishing as the runner-up on Bachelorette Emily Maynard's season, Arie appeared in a 30-second promo clip that let fans know that it's totally cool to have forgotten about him. Even Arie is aware of how comically long this gap in appearances was, saying in the promo, "It feels like it's been forever."

While talking to PEOPLE after Arie was announced as the new lead, his former love Emily said, "He's so much fun to be around and comes from the nicest family, so the girls on his season really lucked out with him! Arie deserves nothing but the best, and I hope everything goes wonderfully for him!"

Season 8 of The Bachelorette will be available online until The Bachelor returns with Arie at the helm this January.

Former Olympic Gymnast McKayla Maroney Says That the Former Team Doctor Repeatedly Molested Her

Amidst Hollywood actresses and ordinary women coming forward with their experiences of being sexually harassed, former Olympic gymnast McKayla Maroney has said that former USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar repeatedly molested her, CNN reports. Nassar was arrested last year on the charge of sexually assaulting several female minors while serving in his position with USA Gymnastics. Maroney used the "Me Too" hashtag on Twitter to discuss her inappropriate encounters with Nassar over the years.

"Wherever there is a position of power, there seems to be potential for abuse," Maroney, an individual silver medalist at the 2012 Summer Olympics, wrote. "I had a dream to go to the Olympics, and the things that I had to endure to get there were unnecessary and disgusting."

Maroney said that Nassar molested her under the excuse of giving her "medically necessary treatment.""It started when I was 13 years old, at one of my first National Team training camps...and it didn't end until I left the sport," she said of the abuse. "It seemed wherever and wherever this man could find the chance. I was 'treated.' It happened in London before my team and I won the gold medal, and it happened before I won my silver."

The former athlete also singled out a experience in which she was only 15 and in Tokyo with the national gymnastics team and Nassar. "He'd given me a sleeping pill for the flight, and the next thing I know, I was all alone with him in his hotel room getting a 'treatment.' I thought I was going to die that night."

Maroney's accounts are another chilling reminder of how society has allowed for women to feel shamed into silence about being sexually harassed. The report also shows that this type of behavior certainly isn't limited to the acting industry.

"Our silence has given the wrong people power for too long, and it's time to take our power back," Maroney said in her statement. "And remember, it's never too late to speak up."

The USA Gymnastics organization, which announced its requirement of members to report alleged sexual abuse after Nassar's arrest, responded to Maroney's tweet, saying it "admires the courage of those, like [Maroney], who have come forward to share their personal experiences with sexual abuse. Because of their strength in coming forward, predators can be held accountable for their actions."

How to Online Date If It Freaks You Out

In an age when you can buy cheerios through the Internet, it was only a matter of time before online dating became the new dating. Nowadays it feels like there are billions of ways to find a SO online. Everything from websites that claim to find your soul mate, to the infamous Tinder offer avenues for dating at your fingertips. But with online dating comes a lot of skepticism and fear—can you say “Catfish?”  Like anything new, you might be hesitant to try it out, so here are some ways to make sure your experience is safe, fun…and hopefully successful!

1. Know your dating site/app

There are TONS of dating websites and apps out there, but finding the right one for you can make all the difference. Let’s get real for a second: chances are you’re not going to be on eHarmony if you’re a college student. A lot of those sites have a put-a-ring-on-it mentality that you probably won’t feel comfortable with. Instead, stick with more low-key outlets. “Chelsea Jackson, a junior at Iowa State University who says, “I've been using Tinder for the last four years, I've used Bumble periodically and OkCupid once. I've learned that using a dating app really just depends on the people in your area, seeing as I've experienced the good, the bad and the WTF.” You can always go for the basic Tinder or Bumble, but don’t be afraid to check out other similar apps like Coffee Meets Bagel or Friendsy. Take these apps on test runs and find out which one you prefer.

2. Use your gut

If it seems too good to be true, it probably is. Be realistic, if you happen to find a 6’3” Australian man with chiseled abs that doesn’t have the last name ‘Hemsworth,’ it’s probably a scam. As much as we hate to admit it, there are definitely some creeps out there. If it feels like something is off, then don’t sweat it and move along. There are plenty of fish—which is also another dating app – for you to check out!

3. Screen out duds

It’s normal to be hesitant about meeting a blind date for the first time, and online dating is no different. So take some time to get to know them through texting. The best part about dating online is that you’ll never be on a blind date where you discover that you have absolutely nothing in common after two minutes. Having the option to get to know someone before meeting them lets you screen out the spark-less interests before you set up an actual date.

4. Do a little stalking

We’re not talking FBI-level, just your basic social media stalk. Check to see if you have mutual friends, and use their social media to get an overall vibe. If they seem non-existent on the Internet, proceed with caution. You never know whether they’re just low-key or lying, so always keep your guard up. Also remember that although social media is a good indicator of whether they’re a decent prospect; don’t write them off solely based on Instagram…not everyone can be photogenic.

5. Expect a few weirdos

The Internet is home to losers and douches—it a simple fact. What’s easier than hiding behind a screen while you play out all your f*ckboi dreams? Be aware that you will encounter a few of these dudes. But remember that whether it’s online or in reality, they will always exist. At least you won’t have to deal with them in person. *Swipe left*

6. Remember why it’s so great

Online dating is still dating, so it comes with all the same risks but it can be a great outlet. It’s the perfect option for anyone who gets nervous meeting someone new, or just doesn’t like the whole, “girl walks up to guy at a bar” thing. Plus it’s a noncommittal option that lets you have control of the situation. At the very least, all you’re doing is having a conversation—no strings, no awkward pauses.

Online dating might not be for everyone, but if you’re smart about it, it can pay off. It’s not a perfect science, but if you make sure you’re staying safe about it there’s no reason not to. After all, if you are hesitant but try it out anyways, chances are there’s a guy on there that feels the same way too.

Channing Tatum Has Pulled His Film Project From the Weinstein Company

In response to women throughout Hollywood revealing producer Harvey Weinstein's ties to sexual harassment, Channing Tatum has announced that he's pulling his upcoming film project from the Weinstein Company. According to The Hollywood ReporterTatum and his partner Reid Carolin were slated to co-direct and produce an adaptation of the YA book Forgive Me, Leonard Peacock for the prestigious film company.

Tatum explained his decision on social media, first expressing his admiration for the women who have shared their stories about Weinstein. "The brave women who had the courage to stand up and speak their truth about Harvey Weinstein are true heroes to us," he said in an Instagram post. "They are lifting the heavy bricks to build the equitable world we all deserve to live in."

A post shared by Channing Tatum (@channingtatum) on

"Our lone project in development with [The Weinstein Company]—Matthew Quick's brilliant book, Forgive Me Leonard Peacock—is a story about a boy whose life was torn asunder by sexual abuse," Tatum continued. "While we will no longer develop it or anything else that is property of TWC, we are reminded of its powerful message of healing in the wake of tragedy."

Tatum isn't the first to withdraw a project from Weinstein's organization following the influx of sexual abuse allegations. Lin-Manuel Miranda expressed desire to take back the rights to an In the Heights film adaptation, while Amazon Studios has cut ties with Weinstein-produced shows.

"The truth is out," Tatum said in his statement. "Let's finish what our incredible colleagues started and eliminate abuse from our creative culture once and all."

Given the media industry's fervent response to Weinstein's actions, it seems that Hollywood is actively trying to achieve this kind of atmosphere, but there's definitely a long way to go to reach this point.

How to Make Your Room Look Like it Came Out of Anthropologie (Without Breaking the Bank)

$

We all know the feeling of walking into a store like Anthropologie, with its perfect displays showing off modern design that meets an all-grown-up take on boho style. What we love even more than the clothing is the home section of the store. Unfortunately, few of our favorite Anthro picks are college budget-friendly. Luckily, we’ve put together the ultimate guide to getting Anthropologie style on a budget, starting from the ground up.

1. Invest in a new rug to cozy up your space

If you’re in a dorm, chances are your floor is some kind of linoleum or concrete material which isn’t exactly welcoming after a tiring day of classes. Even if you’re in an apartment (look at you, adulting!) a rug is handy to cover up those mysterious carpet stains that your landlord swore would be steam-cleaned before you moved in. IKEA has some of the most affordable options that also happen to look like they’re right out of an Anthropologie catalog (like this one).

2. Check out your local flea market scene

So much of Anthropologie’s design scheme uses pieces that are artfully distressed or a little unfinished, which makes flea markets your best source for finding bedroom accessories that have the same look. You can find anything from a desk chair to a nightstand, and even smaller items like antique lamps and wrought-iron candlestick holders.

3. Don’t be afraid to look outside of ‘bed-in-a-bag’ selections

While convenient, these packages don’t always look the best. More importantly, they’re not typically made of high-quality materials that will last you more than a year or two. Instead, look at quilt or duvet sets that match the design aesthetic you’re after, like this floral set from Target.

4. Mix and match when you have the chance

Also, remember that mixing and matching is the name of the game for Anthropologie, so don’t be afraid to do it yourself, too. That artfully mixed-and-matched look is based on choosing pieces that contrast enough to pop, but also go together, so the key here is not to get too carried away (or else your room will feel chaotic instead of put together).

Choose whether you’re going to create that contrast with the colors of your bedding or the textures. For example, if you choose a colorful, patterned bedspread, compliment it by including pieces with texture (such as a cozy crocheted blanket) in a neutral color. Conversely, if you choose to decorate based on solid-color pieces in your favorite color (say, purple), include pieces like patterned throw pillows that incorporate both purple and its contrasting color, yellow. Lastly, remember that when mixing and matching with patterns, like often goes with like. Mix and match busy patterns or textures together (like florals and tassels) and linear patterns (like stripes and ruching) for that perfect look.

5. Frame your own artwork or photography and display it gallery-style

Maybe you’ve been painting for years, or maybe you took a photography elective last semester and ended up with a few prints you really love. Why not show them off? Create a gallery wall by framing your favorite artwork and arranging it over your desk for an inspiring workspace, or on a bare wall that needs a little love. Bonus: Command’s Picture Hanging Kit will make sure you get your dorm or apartment security deposit back come move-out time.

6. Don’t go crazy with the pop-culture posters

Pawing through poster sidewalk sales for a Marilyn Monroe or Audrey Hepburn poster is so freshman year. Instead, let native wall treatments in your room, like exposed brick walls or wood paneling show through. This gives your space character, which is a big ‘do’ in the Anthropologie design scheme. If your space is lacking in character, you can also experiment with temporary wallpapers. This pick from Betsey Johnson comes in cute prints and is specially made to come up mess-free at the end of the year.

7. Remember to shop small (businesses, that is)

One of the reasons why we love Anthropologie’s signature style so much is because many of their pieces look like they’re truly one of a kind. This is because the store contracts with smaller businesses to supply the little knick-knacks that make us drool over their style spreads. If you don’t feel like browsing pages and pages of products, head to the suppliers directly! Make sure to check out Rifle Paper Co. for the cutest stationary and odds and ends for your desk. Or, if your bath supplies need a little touch of luxe, head on over to Mullein & Sparrow for naturally-derived body oils, bar soaps and skin care that all come in flat lay-worthy packaging.

8. Don’t be afraid to buy a few things from Anthropologie!

While Anthro’s big-ticket items, like furniture and bedding sets, might be a little over your budget, the store has a great selection of decorative accessories that will dress up your space without destroying your wallet. Look for candles, stationary, even new dresser hardware to add those little touches to finish off your new space. And don’t forget to stay up to date on when the store is running sales—you can end up walking out the door with significantly discounted pieces that you also happen to love.

Curating your room to have that perfect bohemian flair takes a little bit of time and effort, but it’s possible to do without breaking the bank! Remember that it’s less about an expensive brand image and more about picking pieces that compliment a design aesthetic that you truly love.

HC Wake-Up Call: Trump on NFL's #TakeAKnee Ruling, Judge Defies Administration for Immigrant Teen's Abortion & New Snickers Flavors

Good morning Her Campus! With a break-neck news cycle, there is no possible way for you to stay on top of every story that comes across your feeds—we’re all only human, after all.

But, life comes at you fast. So grab a cup of coffee and settle in for this quick and dirty guide to stories you might’ve been sleeping on (like, literally. It’s early.)

Trump Isn't Happy With the NFL's Official Stance on #TakeAKnee

After NFL commissioner Roger Goodell confirmed that players will be allowed to either kneel or sit during the national anthem without being punished, President Donald Trump tweeted about his disapproval of the decision.

"Total disrespect for our great country!" Trump said of the announcement.

While meeting with union representatives and players, Goodell assured that the organization would help players fight against the social injustices they are often kneeling for. Despite Trump's response, the NFL has never had a rule forcing players to stand for the anthem.

A Federal Judge Allows an Undocumented Teen an Abortion After the Presidential Administration Refused Her One

After the Trump administration denied a pregnant, undocumented teen an abortion, DC District Judge Tanya Chutkan ruled that the 17-year-old girl, currently in a Texas detention center, could be taken to a facility for the procedure. CNN reports that Chukan's order prevents officials from interfering or obstructing the teen's access to an abortion. The teen is in the care of the Office of Refugee Resettlement, as she came to the United States without a parent or guardian, but still had judicial permission to receive an abortion. Despite having both permission and money for the procedure, officials reportedly refused to take her to an actual appointment.

Look Out for These Three New Snickers Flavors

You won't see these on Halloween this year, but next summer, you can expect to find three new flavors of Snickers Bars in stores. Debuting in June 2018 as part of the candy's Hunger Bar collection, the flavors have been announced as Fiery, Espresso and Salty & Sweet. I don't know about you, but the Salty & Sweet bar sounds like it'll be my go-to craving snack next year.

What to look out for...

Here's How You Can Celebrate Spirit Day & Support LGBT Youth Today

According to the Gay, Lesbian, Straight Education Network, 85.2% of LGBTQ students have been verbally harassed because of their sexual orientation, and more than half have been verbally harassed because of their gender expression. More than half of LGBTQ students feel unsafe at school because of their sexual orientation and more than half of LGBTQ students have heard homophobic remarks from teachers and/or school staff because of their sexual orientation.

Upon hearing these statistics, many of us feel both heartbroken and helpless. This bullying is not okay, but what can we possibly do to put an end to it? That is why Spirit Day was created!

GLAAD, an organization founded by LGBTQ people in the media, says on their website, “Spirit Day is a means of speaking out against LGBTQ bullying and standing with LGBTQ youth, who disproportionately face bullying and harassment because of their identities.” This year’s Spirit Day is Thursday, October 19th, and we encourage all of you to do your part and stand up against bullying. Here's just a few ways to start:

1. Wear purple

Wearing purple all day is one of the most visible ways to show your support for LGBTQ youth, Alexandra Bolles, Assistant Director of Campaigns and Public Engagement at GLAAD told Her Campus. According to GLAAD’s website, “pledging to ‘go purple’ on Spirit Day is a way for everyone — forward-thinking companies, global leaders, respected celebrities, neighbors, parents, classmates, and friends — to visibly show solidarity with LGBTQ youth and to take part in the largest, most visible anti-bullying campaign in the world.”

Spirit Day is a day that your outfit choice can really make a difference, so make sure you use this opportunity!

2. Use #SpiritDay

Bolles encourages students to post on social media using #SpiritDay “to send a tangible message of support for LGBTQ students online and in real life.” Not sure what to post? GLAAD’s website has a resource page full of stats and data that can make an impactful and moving caption. If hearing the stats on bullying towards LGBTQ motivated you to make a difference, it will probably do the same for your followers. A selfie in your purple shirt paired with a meaningful caption that shows your support could make all the difference!

3. Extend your efforts past Spirit Day!

Obviously, LGBTQ students are bullied year-round, not just on Spirit Day. Your efforts should reflect this! Bolles says, “To go the extra mile, team up with your school’s LGBTQ center or club to strategize lasting ways to make your campus safer for LGBTQ students all year-round.” In any situation where individuals are victimized, it’s super important to have allies. If your goal is to minimize bullying and create a safer, more loving campus, then that effort should be year-round. You should definitely aim to be an ally in your daily life, but if you want to do more than that, then definitely check out student or campus organizations that support LGBTQ students and see if there’s anything you can do!

4. Be inclusive.

This should go without saying, but sometimes we seem to forget. Just because someone doesn’t fit into your stereotype of a LGBTQ individual doesn’t mean that they’re not just as worthy of love! If we aim to foster a community of acceptance, then we need to be at the forefront of that, loving everyone no matter how they’re viewed in our society.

Bolles said it best:  “In anything you do around Spirit Day, remember that the LGBTQ community includes all genders, races, religions, nationalities, abilities, ages, and more, so aim to be inclusive, safe, and affirming of everyone.”

Trump Denies Telling Military Widow That Her Fallen Soldier Husband 'Knew What He Signed Up For'& Claims Dem Congresswoman 'Fabricated' Statement

President Donald Trump denied on Wednesday (via Twitter) that he once told the widow of fallen soldier Sgt. La David Johnson, who was killed in an ambush in Niger, that Johnson “knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurts,” CNN reports, adding that he believed Florida Representative Frederica Wilson made the comments up.

Trump said Wilson “totally fabricated” his remarks to Johnson’s widow, Myeshia Johnson, adding that he had proof but, according to CNN, did not provide that proof.

According to ABC News, Sgt. Johnson was on a joint patrol on October 4 with U.S. and Nigerian forces when he, along with three other soldiers, was killed in an ambush by militants supposedly connected to ISIS. Wilson said that she was in the car with Johnson Tuesday afternoon on the way to Miami International Airport to receive the body of the fallen Sgt. when Trump called.

In an interview with “CNN Tonight” on Tuesday evening, Wilson claimed, “Basically, [the president] said, 'Well, I guess he knew what he signed up for, but I guess it still hurt.'"

When asked by CNN affiliate WPLG if Wilson was sure that that was what she had heard the president say, Wilson responded, “Yeah, he said that. You know ... that is something that you can say in a conversation, but you shouldn't say that to a grieving widow. Everyone knows when you go to war you could possibly not come back alive, but you don't remind a grieving widow of that. That is so insensitive. So insensitive.”

Wilson repeated that the comments were not in-line with what the POTUS should be saying.

“That is what stood out in everyone's heart,” Wilson added. “You don't say that. He is the President of the United States. This is a soldier who gave his life for his country. He is a hero in our minds, in our community's minds. That is an insult to the entire Miami Gardens community, to the entire District 24, to Miami-Dade County and to this nation. And I hope he didn't say that to the other three families.”

Wilson told CNN's Alisyn Camerota on “New Day,” that she has  “no reason to lie [about] the President of the United States with a dead soldier in my community. I have no time, I have no motive.”

According to ABC News, Wilson said that she was “livid” when she heard Trump’s comments over speakerphone. “I asked them to give me the phone because I wanted to speak with him," Wilson said. "And I was going to curse him out. That was my reaction at that time. I was livid. But they would not give me the phone.” Overall, Wilson thought that Trump’s comments were “extremely insensitive” and “a disgrace.”

The controversy came only a day after Trump claimed that past presidents did not reach out to the families of fallen soldiers.

“If you look at President [Barack] Obama and other presidents, most of them didn't make calls. A lot of them didn't make calls. I like to call when it's appropriate, when I think I am able to do it,” Trump said on Monday. “They have made the ultimate sacrifice. So generally I would say that I like to call. I'm going to be calling them. I want a little time to pass. I'm going to be calling them.”

In an interview with Fox News Radio on Tuesday, Trump said, “As far as other presidents, I don't know, you could ask Gen. Kelly, did he get a call from Obama? I don't know what Obama's policy was." Kelly’s son was killed while serving in Afghanistan in 2010.

The White House declined to comment on the remarks now associated with Trump. “The president's conversations with the families of American heroes who have made the ultimate sacrifice are private,” a White House official told ABC News.

Yet Another Judge Has Ruled Against Trump's Latest Travel Ban & We're Sensing A Trend Here

After a federal judge in Hawaii ruled against President Trump’s latest travel ban, a federal judge in Maryland, U.S. District Court Judge Theodore Chuang, has now issued a second halt against the travel ban, according to Politico. According to The Washington Post, within Chuang’s 91-page order, the U.S. District Court Judge claimed that Trump’s campaign rhetoric as well as his tweets show that this latest travel ban is still an “unconstitutional Muslim ban.”

Chuang blocked the Trump administration from implementing and enforcing the new travel ban on immigrants from the banned countries that have a genuine relationship with an individual or have a professional engagement in the United States, The Washington Post reports.

This third attempt at a travel ban by the Trump administration — which would block travel from Syria, Libya, Iran, Yemen, Chad, Somalia, North Korea and Venezuela — was to be fully implemented early Wednesday morning, according to The Washington Post. As with the Hawaiian federal judge’s ruling, Chuang’s order does not prohibit the implementation of the ban on travelers from North Korea and Venezuela, Politico reports.

According to Chuang’s order, since the travel ban blocked immigrants to the United States based on their nationality, it violated a nondiscrimination provision in the law. “To the extent that the Government might have provided additional evidence to establish that national security is now the primary purpose for the travel ban, it has not done so,” Chuang wrote. “Of course, even if such evidence was forthcoming, its value in obviating the taint of the earlier Executive Orders would be limited.”

Chuang based much of his ruling on Trump’s past rhetoric and tweets, stating that Trump solely intended to ban Muslims from the United States, and as a result, this was a conflict with the Establishment Clause, The Washington Post reports.

The Maryland federal judge wrote, according to The Washington Post, that when Trump was a presidential candidate in 2015, Trump vowed to “shutdown of Muslims entering the United States.” In addition, Chaung addressed how the president reportedly said, after the second travel ban was released, that the second travel ban was only a “watered down version” and that “we ought go back to the first one and go all the way, which is what I wanted to do in the first place.”

Furthermore, according to Politico, Chuang cited a tweet in August from Trump in which the president “endorsed what appears to be an apocryphal story involving General John J. Pershing and a purported massacre of Muslims with bullets dipped in a pig’s blood, advising people to ‘study what General Pershing . . . did to terrorists when caught.’”

Chuang claimed that the president’s tweet suggested “a method hostile to Islam — shooting Muslims with bullets dipped in pig’s blood — should be used to deter future terrorism.”

The Department of Justice, however, has already said that it will appeal both of the Hawaii and Maryland decisions.

According to Politico, before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Wednesday morning, Attorney General Jeff Sessions stood by the new travel ban, saying, “The president’s executive order is an important step in ensuring that we know who is coming into our country. The order is lawful, necessary and we are proud to defend it. ... We are confident that we will ultimately prevail.”

In response to the rulings against the latest travel ban, the White House said that the rulings “undercuts the President’s efforts to keep the American people safe and enforce minimum security standards for entry into the United States.” According to The Washington Post, the Trump administration implemented this new travel ban after conducting a review on the information necessary to vet those entering the United States, and countries that were unwilling or incapable to produce the information were placed on the banned list.

“These restrictions are vital to ensuring that foreign nations comply with the minimum security standards required for the integrity of our immigration system and the security of our Nation,” the White House said. “We are therefore confident that the Judiciary will ultimately uphold the President’s lawful and necessary action and swiftly restore its vital protections for the safety of the American people.”

Sophie Turner's Engagement Ring Costs More Than $25,000, & Can I Marry Joe Jonas Too?

The world is still reeling from Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner's engagement announcement. As soon as the couple shared the news that they were taking the next step in their relationship, the internet freaked. But, it's not every day that your favorite middle school JoBro crush and a Game of Thrones star get married!

If you’re one of those fans who’s still pining for your Camp Rock crush, prepare for the news of this engagement to sting just a little bit more. In a recent article, E! revealed that the rock that Turner proudly showed off on Instagram is estimated to cost between $25,000 and $30,000, as noted by certified gemologist appraiser, Deborah Villepigue, from The Jewelry Appraiser Inc

While this price tag is obviously staggering to someone living the student life (who hasn’t had to check their bank account before heading to Starbucks?), for Jonas and Turner, this ring probably won't even dent the bank. Jonas has an estimated net worth of $18 million (as of 2015), and Turner is estimated at $5 million.

Congrats to the newly engaged couple - may your marriage always be full of happiness and expensive jewelry!

Galaxy Freckles Are the Prettiest New Space-Girl Look

Still not entirely sure what you’re going to be for Halloween yet? With the big day quickly approaching, it's crunch time for finding and completing the perfect costume. However, many of us don’t have the time or money to get a costume that will put us on the best-dressed list. The easiest advice that we always hear is to make a costume using the clothes that we already own... but how using the makeup that we already own (or want to own) instead?

Personally, I would much prefer to buy an eyeliner for a costume that I know I can wear 364 days a year, which isn’t always do-able with a Wonder Woman headband or a pair of Harley Quinn shorts

Youtuber Miranda Hedman created a tutorial for the most gorgeous Space Princess look, with makeup so perfect that you could pair it with a plan white t-shirt and still win the costume contest. With some bright blushes and easy-to-do galaxy freckles, Hedman makes transforming into a princess seem easy.

Want to get the look? Here’s what to you can do:

  1. Using the NYX Full Throttle Shadow Palette in “Stunner” ($10 at NYX), blend out a brown shade on the crease of your eyelid, then put silver and blue shades on the lid. Make sure the silver shade is on the inner most corner of the lid, and the blue shade on the outermost corner. Finally, use the blue shade to smoke out the bottom lid.
  2. Use the NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe Collection in “Glam Platinum” ($5.50 at NYX) to do a simple winged eyeliner look.
  3. Prime with the NYX Glitter Primer ($8 at NYX) and use the NYX Face and Body Glitter in “Crystal” ($6 at NYX). Place the glitter in the inner corner, then slowly drag drown past the bottom lash line.
  4. Coat your top and bottom lashes with the NYX Color Mascara in “Purple” ($7 at NYX).
  5. Take NYX Primal Colors in “Hot Pink” ($5 at NYX) and use the shade generously along the apples of your cheek, bottom of your nose and top of your neck.
  6. Use NYX Primal Colors in “Hot Blue” ($5 at NYX) along the contour of your cheekbones, the entire bridge of your nose and around your neck. Blend into “Hot Pink” and use additional product if needed.
  7. Go back to the NYX Glam Liner Aqua Luxe Collection in “Glam Platinum” and place dots, to resemble freckles, over your cheeks and nose.
  8. Use the Paradise Makeup AQ™ - Detailz ($8.95 at Mehron) to apply more faux freckles too the same area. Make these freckles closer together and more clustered. Using the same liner, draw stars in the shape of an “X” (or get creative!) sporadically across the area of freckles. This will create the galaxy pattern. Don’t forget to extend this design into the colored part of your neck.
  9. Complete the look with the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in “Amethyst” ($7 at NYX).
  10. Hedman used a Sigma Lip Switch in “Double Whammy” as a lip topper in this look, however, this product is no longer available. I would suggest using the Huda Beauty Lip Strobe in “Enchanting” ($18 at Sephora) to achieve a similar look.

Happy Halloween - may your candy be yummy and your makeup be fleeky!

Its a holiday miracle! Kiehl’s is teaming up with Disney and Feeding America. Honestly, I just woke up and haven’t even finished my first coffee of the day, so when I read this I thought it was too good to be true. In case your brain can’t handle too many good things at once either, let me break it down for you:

Kiehl’s is a popular and highly rated skin care company that has a long history of charitable donations and giving back. Disney (as if it even needs an introduction) is the brand that has brought us everyone from Mickey to Moana, and helps put a smile on everyone's face. Finally, Feeding America is a nonprofit that is dedicated to fighting hunger across the nation, and is responsible for over 200 food banks that are used to fill this purpose.

But how are they all working together?

Just in time for the holidays, Kiehl’s is releasing some of their best-selling products with an adorable, special edition Disney packaging. The products feature a classic Mickey design, and 100 percent of the profits (up to $100,000) will be donated to Feeding America.

They’re releasing the Special Edition Collection For A Cause, which will donate 350 meals ($45 at Kiehl’s), the Special Edition Creme de Corps Grapefruit Whipped Body Butter, which will donate 355 meals ($38 at Kiehl’s), the Special Edition Scented Hand Cream Trio, which will donate 310 meals ($35 at Kiehl’s) and the Special Edition Hydration Essentials Gift Set, which will donate 210 meals ($29 at Kiehl’s). The entire collection will be available in store and online starting November 2.

The President of Kiehl’s, Chris Salgardo, discussed the importance behind the recent collaboration. “Disney has been bringing joy to children and families everywhere for generations, and we are honored that this collaboration will raise funds for those with food insecurities, and awareness for the work of Feeding America," he explained. "It’s staggering that one in six children in America do not know where they will get their next meal, and we are humbled that the Kiehl’s community can help do their part to alleviate that uncertainty.”

They say that giving is the best gift of all, and you can do so with this amazing collaboration (and get great skin while doing it!).

Demi Lovato & Nick Jonas Reflect on Her 2010 Altercation With a Backup Dancer

Demi Lovato’s new documentary, Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated, doesn’t sugarcoat her past. In the YouTube documentary, which premiered on Tuesday, the 25-year-old singer opened up about her struggle with drug addiction, an eating disorder and an upsetting incident in 2010 that led her to check into rehab.

While on tour with the Jonas Brothers to promote their Disney Channel film, Camp Rock 2, Demi punched a backup dancer in the face, giving her a black eye. She admitted that during this time she was abusing substances daily, and the incident was a wakeup call that she needed to seek help. “I just came to a breaking point; the next 12 months were extremely difficult."

Nick Jonas, a longtime friend of Demi's, shed some light on the tension that came from Lovato’s relationship with Joe Jonas and how it affected Nick's relationship with her. “While we were on tour Demi and Joe’s relationship had become really complicated so I was playing the bridge,” Nick said in the documentary. “It became really good you know between she and I for a while and growing closer than we’ve ever been. I remember thinking in my head I felt a bit of pride about it, like selfishly maybe I was helping her back to being the Demi we know and love. She’s not going to do anything crazy, she’ll be fine and then this episode happened.”

Both Demi and Nick have admitted that the incident put a strain on their relationship, but thankfully, they seem to be back on track. And Demi’s congratulations to Joe following his engagement this past weekend shows that they're in a good place, too.

Selena Gomez has also been active in her support, commenting on Demi’s Instagram post about the documentary, “This was beautiful I’m so happy for you. You always continue to be bold and real. I wish more people were like you.” She followed up with another comment: “Love you.”

Demi is now five-and-a-half years sober, and she's jumping back into the dating game after splitting from boyfriend of six years Wilmer Valderrama last year. She opened up about her sexuality in the film, saying, “I am on a dating app with both men and girls. I am open to human connection so whether that’s through a male or female, it doesn’t matter to me...” In a wildly relatable moment, she talked about her confusion surrounding first dates and mind games over texts.

She also vocalized her frustration over the double standard women face. “There’s a certain stigma around women having casual sex and for me, it’s my body, it’s my choice. It’s exciting. It’s a connection with somebody and it’s fun. When I’m comfortable in my own skin, I feel confident and when I feel confident, I feel sexy and when I feel sexy, watch out.” Preach it, girl.

6 Tips for Staying Safe This Halloween

Halloween is upon us, and for many college students, this will be the most raved about, Instagrammed and celebrated time of the year. You throw all your creativity into crafting the perfect, no-one-else-will-look-as-good-as-me costume, catch wind of the biggest parties, hope you'll accidentally run into your future bae and prepare for a long, droning week once your 7 a.m. starts the next day.

The excitement is brewing, drinks are mixing—but let's not let it get too spooky. Halloween in a busy college town can also bring out real-life ghouls and horror stories if you don’t keep a watchful eye. Here are some safety tips to keep your spirits high this week.

1. Plan ahead

Leave room for that big questionable party that you'll inevitably find when you're out roaming the scene and communicate your openness to check out something new with your girlfriends. It's best when your whole group knows you're down to switch it up.

2. Don't go alone

That's no fun anyway! Halloween can bring in hundreds of out-of-towners. When streets and apartments are literally crammed, they create an opportunity for incidents to slip through the cracks. Bring a friend and be each other's right-hand woman, and give each other the "maybe you've had too much" reality check you'll probably need at 2 a.m.

3. Bring your ID

It's always best to have this identification on you at all times. You could paper clip it to your bra, tape it on your body or keep it in your shoe.

4. Eat!

Eat before you go out, during if you can and definitely after. Some friends may encourage otherwise—"You feel it so much faster if you skip dinner!"—but you will have plenty of hours in the night to get loose and enjoy yourself. Top your evening off with that greasy burrito you've been wanting all week.

5. Grab your own drinks

Halloweekend brings out colorful beverages and strange concoctions—basically easier ways to slip something foreign into your cup without you noticing. If someone offers you a drink, watch them pour it, and never accept if they need to leave the room to get it. If it's a stranger's party with a community bowl full of jungle juice, skip it. If you're dying to try, wait for the freshest batch to come out before dipping your red Solo in for a taste.

6. Stay alert

Halloween at many campuses is so huge that law enforcement from surrounding counties come in to help monitor the situation. Medical tents are set up on major corners of the city and flood lights may line the main drag. In more recent years, large costume accessories have been confiscated for safety reasons. Be diligent, keep your eyes open and notify an officer if something is off. We promise you he will overlook your state of mind if you're taking responsibility for what's around you.

'Cheetah Girls 2' Costars Raven-Symoné & Belinda Reunited to Sing 'Amigas Cheetahs,'& I'm Fangirling So Hard

Two cast members from The Cheetah Girls 2 reunited in Los Angeles this past week and, praise be, shared it all on Instagram Live.

Raven-Symoné and Belinda, aka Galleria and Marisol, spent the day live-streaming themselves singing some of their most memorable Cheetah Girls 2 songs. Their renditions of “Amigas Cheetahs and “A La Nanita Nana” were a major throwback to their ultra-popular and powerful Disney presence in the 2000s, which has definitely not been forgotten.

Raven suggested that she and Belinda have become closer friends with each other than with their Cheetah Girls costars. “Out of all the Cheetah Girls, we survived together as friends for a long time.” They're definitely closer than their characters were on screen. I'm not saying they were my favorite characters, but I wouldn’t be opposed to hearing this dynamic duo belt out more of my favorite jams.

Can you say “nostalgia”? It’s been too long since the Cheetah Girls blessed our preteen years with their upbeat songs and friendship goals, and this short and sweet reunion between Raven and Belinda has fans dying for more Cheetah action. Petition for a Cheetah Girls 4, anyone?

Sarah Hyland Was Accused of Body Shaming a Woman on Instagram, But It Was All a Misunderstanding

Modern Family actress Sarah Hyland has been in the spotlight recently, but not for the best reason. Hyland came under fire after an Instagram story she posted was perceived as body shaming. Sarah filmed a woman in the car next to her and said, “How did you get in your car, miss?”

This has led to backlash on social media from people who thought Sarah was criticizing the woman’s weight. For instance, one Twitter user called Hyland “an asshole” for filming and mocking the woman.

Others rushed to Sarah’s defense, pointing out the lack of car handle on the door. The actress responded in her Instagram stories, according to Teen Vogue. "If you noticed, the car didn’t have a car handle," she said. "That’s why I was questioning how she got in the car or not. It didn’t have a handle."

Sarah also shared the friendly conversation she had with a woman who claims to be the one in the video. Hyland fired back at her critics, “For those who thought I was making fun of a woman’s weight…That thought never even crossed through my mind.. but it did in yours.”

It seems obvious to me that Sarah was referencing the missing door handle. I find it hard to believe that Hyland of all people would body shame anyone considering her own struggles. Sarah has kidney dysplasia, which has made it incredibly difficult for her to retain weight, and led to criticism that she's too thin and encouraging an unhealthy body image in girls. I think Sarah's strong responses to the negativity surrounding her own weight make it pretty clear that she wouldn't treat anyone else that way.

As painful as it is to say, Anna Faris has reportedly re-entered the dating world, which means her relationship with Chris Pratt is really, truly over. Following her split in August, PEOPLE reports Anna has been dating Michael Barrett, a cinematographer who's working on Faris's upcoming film Overboard. OMG!

The pair have been spotted on several outings, including dinners and a trip to the carnival. How cute. “Anna has been hanging out with Michael for weeks,” a source told PEOPLE. “They were hanging out occasionally in September, but started seeing each other more frequently recently."

If your heart is breaking a little at the thought of Chris and Anna's breakup, Faris has said that though they aren't together, they're still good friends. "We’ll always have each other and be incredible friends,” Anna recently told PEOPLE. “There is still so much laughter in our lives together, and he is so proud of me, still. We watched each other grow, and he still cracks me up all the time. And I think I crack him up—unless he’s a really good actor and great at faking laughter.” Thank goodness.

Though fans can't help but be upset by their separation, Anna totally gets it. "It’s understandable that people seemed so invested in our happiness together. All I can say about that is, it’s all true, that we truly adore each other, and we love each other, I think it still comes through.”

With all of this in mind, I respect Anna for taking fans' feelings into account and assuring everyone that she and Chris will always be friends. I'm excited for Anna's new relationship. I hope it brings her happiness.

In The Next Year, France Will Vote On A Law to Fine Street Harassers & Outlaw Catcalling

France’s minister of state for gender equality just proposed a law that would outlaw street harassment and get men fined right then and there for doing so, reports Bustle.

Minister Marlene Schiappa says the law is necessary because women currently have no legal recourse when they’re feeling unsafe on the streets. Harassment laws, like any laws, however, are useless unless they are well-enforced. As street harassment is currently not defined by law, Minister Schiappa says that’s something she plans to address in the near future with new and updated legislation.

She used examples of men following women down the street for long periods of time or asking for their numbers many times in order to explain what would be defined as street harassment: “We all know very well at what point we start feeling intimidated, unsafe or harassed in the street,” she said.

The issue is a personal one for Schiappa, because she is one of the countless women and female-presenting people who has experienced some form of street harassment firsthand. In an interview with NPR, she said she and her sister were frequently catcalled from a young age and that they would often have to find different routes to get to school or other places just to try to avoid it.

Canada and Portugal, as well as other countries, have made street harassment and catcalling illegal already. As far as the U.S. goes, laws vary from state to state. Most of them, if laws are in place at all, involve a fine or a brief stay in jail and require at least two offenses for legal action to be taken. This is where the problem lies: because there are plenty of men who can just afford to pay the fine and go right back on their merry way of harassing. That's also why Holly Kearl, founder of the nonprofit Stop Street Harassment, said she would like to see some better alternatives that include some kind of educational element.

The exact details of the law are still being worked out by French politicians, who will seek the opinions of judges and police officers to help them better define what sexual harassment entails. Once that’s done, the law will be brought to a vote. Currently, there are plans for it to go beyond the protection of women in the streets and establish stricter rules about sex with minors, as well as extending the time people who were sexually assaulted has children have to go to the police with their story.

The gendered issues the U.S. has been dealing with are similar to ones France is facing. President Emmanuel Macron revoked the nation’s Legion d’Honneur award away from Harvey Weinstein after learning of the dozens of women accusing him of sexual assault.

They also have their own version of the now-viral #MeToo campaign, where women share their personal stories of being sexually harassed or assaulted. French women use the hashtag #balancetonporc. It has been translated to both “squeal on your pig” and “rat on your dirty old man.”

Schiappa has proved she’s dedicated to making public spaces in France safe for everyone, with ending street harassment being just the beginning. Like she told La Croix newspaper, “The idea is that society as a whole redefines what is acceptable or not.”

The Internet Is Obsessed With These Fake Melania Trump Conspiracy Theories

There’s a conspiracy making waves through the internet that Melania Trump isn’t Melania Trump. Don’t worry, this isn’t another remake to the Invasion of the Body Snatchers (probably), but The Washington Post explains the origins of the theory.

The conspiracy started with one man, who apparently thinks Melania looks like a completely different person because she put on a pair of sunglasses. Joe Vargas tweeted on Tuesday, “This is not Melania. To Think they would go this far & try & make us think its her on TV is mind blowing. Makes me wonder what else is a lie.”

He also has a long list of reciepts that somehow prove this mystery woman isn’t President Donald Trump’s wife. While this man — who might think his own SO is an intruder whenever they get a simple haircut — might seem a little under-qualified to be a detective, let's hear him out.

In Vargas’ comparison you can notice the difference between the “two women” is very subtle, almost as if they’re the same person. In the photo you can see that the "fake" Melania’s nose is a bit different than the "real" Melania’s nose (almost as if there were nose pads, from say sunglasses, constricting the bridge of her nose).

The New York Post elaborates that in the video, which was filmed outside the White House, Donald Trump mentions his “wife Melania, who happens to be standing right here.” Maybe the President is trying to convince the citizens that this doppelgänger is really Melania, which could explain why he didn't let her talk about the committee that she's really passionate about (because this poser hasn't mastered Melania's voice yet). But what happened to the real Melania?

Regardless, Vargas isn’t the only person who isn’t fooled by this imposter. Some Twitter users have even commented on the difference in height (because heels definitely don’t exist. Nope.)

BuzzFeed mentions that this isn’t the first time body double conspiracies have captivated the internet. During the 2016 presidential elections, many Twitter users believed that Hillary Clinton was also using a decoy.

Could this be Melania’s body double? Does Donald know that this woman isn’t his wife? Were the distressed Melania Trump conspiracies right all along, and Melania was secretly terrified of being replaced by this imposter? Does this mean that Donald Trump isn't actually Donald Trump either? Hopefully, these conspiracy theorists will get to the bottom of this soon—because the U.S. citizens deserve answers.

As White Nationalist Richard Spencer Spoke at University of Florida, The Campus Prepared For Protests

According to TIME, Florida announced a state of emergency in preparation for white nationalist Richard Spencer’s rally in Gainesville earlier this afternoon. Earlier today, as Her Campus UFL covered on Twitter, many students and community members rallied around University of Florida’s campus to protest Spencer hate speech.

Florida Gov. Rick Scott issued a state of emergency to prevent any unnecessary violence in Gainesville. In addition to the state of emergency, the governor issued hundreds of police officers to the campus, Reuters reports.

The Palm Beach Post also explains that weapons, Firearms, Tasers, knives, sharp objects, lighters, matches, torches, shields, fireworks, backpacks, purses, metal cans, glass bottles, wagons, coolers, pets, propane tanks, bicycles, skateboards, megaphones, laser pointers, umbrellas and tobacco products were banned from the event. Despite the clear prohibited items signs, the Alachua County Sheriff Department said that they made their first arrest because someone had a holstered gun.

Preparing for #richardspencer in #gainesville #onassignment #washpost

A post shared by evelynpix (@evelynpix) on

While thousands are protesting the event, many people prepared for Spencer’s arrival last night by transforming Gainesville into a positive, anti-prejudice space. The Palm Beach Post explains that many students and residents plasters signs with positive messages on sign posts, windows and event sidewalks. Because sometimes you need some positive words of encouragement when a known Nazi white nationalist is allowed to give a speech at your college.

CNN explains that Spencer previously stated that he believes that “America belongs to white men.” Nevertheless, many protesters are marching down the streets of Gainesville, totting signs and chanting “no Nazis, no KKK, no Fascist USA,” in order to combat Spencer's views.

While many attended the event, The Gainesville Sun reports that a local bar, Tall Paul, offered a special to help sway people from attending the event. Although the bar kicked out the event organizer, Cameron Padgett (who then admitted to trying to rip off the bar in a video and also misquoted Fuchs), Tall Paul allows patrons to surrender their ticket to the event in exchange for a free beer.  The goal of the offer was that free alcohol might've helped deter people from feeding into Spencer’s hateful rhetoric — even if Kyle Bristow, Spencer's lawyer, claims their beer "tastes like piss." (We're pretty sure he's just being a hater.)

UF President, W. Kent Fuchs, told USA Today that, “Now, for the first time in the history of our nation, very different racist groups are coming together under one person who speaks their language and their words and speaks their views on racism and white supremacy. They’re coming to campus with the intentions of confrontation and with the intention of having all of us repeat their view on the world.”

While freedom of speech doesn’t exclude racists and Nazis (unfortunately), it still might seem a bit baffling that Fuchs would allow someone to host an event on campus, when he is familiar with the speaker’s “intentions of confrontation.”

However, Fuchs said he has to allow Spencer to speak at the university, because public universities are forced to abide by the First Amendment. Fuchs explained to The Associated Press that this forces, "taxpayers to pay the resulting security cost," which he estimates to be approximately $600,000. While Spencer's National Policy Institute was funding the space for the event, the space only costs $10,564 (which obviously is barely a fraction of the cost that the security and other expenditures cost.)

“I fully understand freedom of speech cannot be burdened legally with the full cost of this, but on the other hand we’re being burdened. So taxpayers are subsidizing hate speech,” Fuchs says to The Associated Press. For Fuchs, the concern is that Floridian taxpayers now have to pay for Spencer to "have a conversation" with UF students that many find damaging and harmful to the diverse student populaiton. Not only is Spencer's speech costing taxpayers, it's subjecting students and Gainesville citizens to potential danger.

While Spencer's visit in Florida continues, we hope that everyone in Gainesville stays safe.

For on-the-ground coverage of Spencer's speech check out the Her Campus UFL chapter and be sure to follow them on Twitter
