The solution? A cute temporary tattoo. Here are seven that are actually cool, so you can have a little fun as the weather gets warmer without the long-term commitment.

1. Everyday I'm Hustlin ($5 for a two-pack)

That college life, amirite?

2. Balloons ($1.75 for a two-pack)

Just picture all of your finals week stress ~floating away~.

3. Glow-in-the-Dark Big Dipper ($5 for a two-pack)

All eyes will be on your tat at your next concert or themed party.

4. "Late" Watch Tattoo ($5 for a two-pack)

Yeahhh, about that 8 a.m. lecture...

5. C'est La Vie ($1 for one)

Your motto for the rest of the semester (especially once you get your final grades).

6. Vintage Floral Half-Sleeve ($12 for one)

This stunning bouquet of vintage-inspired flowers is uber chic.

7. Slice of Life ($5 for one)

You can finally give your true bae (yes, pizza) the recognition it deserves.

I Didn't Wash My Hair For a Week & Here's What Happened

My hair has always been a core part of my identity. I’ve had curls my entire life, and save that one period during sixth grade when I thought it was cool to straighten my hair all the time, I’ve worn them proudly. I use as little heat as possible when styling, and I never blow-dry. But according to many hair care enthusiasts, I’m still doing one thing wrong: washing my hair every day.

The sulfates in most shampoos can strip hair of its natural oils; drier hair, in turn, gets more split ends and breakage. No-poo enthusiasts insist that after you get through that first week of greasy hair, your sebaceous glands will adjust to the moisture and make less sebum (aka grease), and your hair will be naturally moisturized all the time, never dry, and never greasy.

RELATED: 4 Things to Do Tonight to Wake Up With Flawless Hair Tomorrow

I have tried to go without shampoo before, but I never made it through that dreaded third day. My hair would look greasy and stringy, and I would break down and wash it, drying it out and starting the cycle all over again. My mom has always told me I should wash my hair less often, so I decided to take her advice, get over the third-day hump, and not wash my hair for a full seven days.

For this experiment, I used my normal products: Suave Professionals Almond & Shea Butter Shampoo and Conditioner and Catwalk by TIGI’s Curls Rock Amplifier. The shampoo and conditioner have always left my hair feeling clean and moisturized and the amplifier, which is halfway between a gel and a cream, helps to keep my curls frizz-free all day. Most of the blogs I looked recommended no product as well, since it'll only build up on your scalp when you're not shampooing. But going out in public on day one with naked hair was a no-go because without product, my frizz makes me look like the first cousin to a troll doll. Many also recommend easing yourself into it by using dry shampoo for the first few days, but most dry shampoo has to be brushed out, which is also a no-go for curly hair.

Day One

I washed my hair in the morning as usual, but used less of the amplifier than normal for fear it would weigh down my hair later in the week. Day one hair is usually the only hair that sees the light of day because my curls are still together, my roots are clean and not shiny, and it holds style well. Thankfully, my hair dried without much frizz. My curls were tight and my hair felt light and dry. Day one was the only day I applied any product to my hair.

Day Two

Sometimes, day two hair still feels clean enough for me to wear it down. This was one of those times. It still looked clean, but running my fingers along my scalp, I could feel it start to get greasy. The curls in front had separated a bit, so I braided it back to hide that and also to keep it out of my face. Sleeping on it made it a little frizzy, but I still felt comfortable wearing it down. I spent the day out with some friends and didn’t feel the need to put it up even though it was incredibly windy outside.

Day Three

The dreaded day three arrived, and I could feel how gross my hair was before I even looked in the mirror. I decided to “wash” it with just water to see if I could rinse out the product I put in on the first day, which I suspected was contributing to the heaviness. I also brushed my hair before getting it wet, hoping to work some of the natural oils from my scalp down the rest of my hair. To my surprise, the brushing combined with the friction in my fingers actually got the greasiness down to a manageable level. In fact, my hair felt almost as light as it did on the first day, and my curls were holding together really well. By the end of the day, I did get some frizz, but I chalked that up to the cold weather in Ohio rather than to my hair care routine.

Day Four

Day four was probably my favorite out of the whole week. I repeated the day three process, brushing and rinsing my hair with water to redistribute the oil. My hair looked—dare I say it?—better than it did on the first day. My curls were tighter and the top of my hair was smoother. The problem with gels and creams is sometimes you can tell that you are wearing them—your hair might look shiny or stiff if you use too much. On day four, my hair looked natural... because it was. Of course, I hated the way it felt. My roots felt greasy (but didn’t look shiny, thankfully) and my hair felt heavier than normal. Regardless, I felt comfortable going out for lunch with my friends without worrying about frizz.

Day Five

The fifth day was... okay. My ends felt thicker and stronger than ever, but I felt like someone had poured coconut oil over my head. Or like I was in a scalp-only sauna. Or like you could start a grease fire on my scalp. Gross, I know. I thought the third day would be my hump day and the rest of the week would be better, but day five was the worst yet.

Day Six

Hair from hell. I woke up with a mess of hair and washing it with water did absolutely nothing. I stared longingly at my shampoo as I tried to figure out how to tackle the beast. My curls had separated. Usually when this happens, it creates so much volume that I get the dreaded “triangle head,” but my hair was so heavy that most of it fell straight. I was going to put it up in a ponytail (my go-to lazy style for bad hair days) but doing so would have exposed my hairline, where you could clearly see how dirty my hair was. I read somewhere on Pinterest that dirty hair holds braids better, so I braided my hair down the side and back and twisted it into a little bun. It worked, but it was definitely not my best hair day ever. I felt self-conscious going out to the grocery store because I felt like everyone could tell how gross I felt.

RELATED: Should You Change Up Your Hair?

Day Seven

You know when you open Snapchat and you accidentally see yourself in the front-facing camera when you aren’t expecting it? And you have three chins and you can see up your nostrils and you feel really gross? Yeah, that’s how I felt on the seventh day. I looked like... well, somebody who hadn’t washed her hair for the last six days. I took my hair out of the bun I had tied it in the night before and I had exactly one curl left. The rest had fallen straight from the weight of my hair’s natural, healthy (and super gross!) oils. So I washed my hair—for real this time, with shampoo and conditioner.

To nobody’s surprise, my hair looked almost exactly the same as it did on the first day. But, it felt much stronger than it ever has before, and it had a natural shine to it instead of looking dull and flat.

Conclusion? I don’t like having dirty hair, and I never will. My hair felt stronger by the end of the week, but brushing through the oils and scrubbing at my scalp was actually much more work than my normal, low-maintenance process. Props to the no-shampoo girls who swear by their routine, but it's not for me. I might try again someday, but I’m sticking to my old routine for now, and showing off my stronger, healthier, clean hair.

7 Secrets to Getting Fuller Brows

$

It’s time to stop lusting over the girls with killer brows on Instagram and take matters into your own hands. You’ve seen celebs like Cara Delevingne sporting enviably thick eyebrows, and even though you may not be naturally blessed with big brows, you can totally pretend. We've got all the secrets you need, right here:

1. Use coconut oil

Seriously, what doesn’t this stuff work on? Jasmine Fain from Oklahoma State University believes in giving her brows some extra TLC by massaging some coconut oil into them. Coconut oil is packed with vitamins and fatty acids, which gives your brows all they need to grow, grow, grow.

This is a quick stepping stone to thicker eyebrows because you can leave it on overnight and not have to add an extra five minutes to your beauty routine the next morning. Simply dip a cotton swab in coconut oil and apply it generously to your eyebrows. It should sink into your brow hairs overnight, but if it doesn’t, dab with paper towel in the morning to remove any excess coconut oil.

2. Find a quality brow tint

Brow tints are perfect if you want to go bold without risking over-filling your eyebrows. Amanda Jones, a junior at Western University swears by Etude House Tint My Brows ($11 at Etude House) but she recommends it with a warning.

“My top trick is to not use too much,” she says, adding, “The biggest problem girls have is that they use far too much product and end up overdoing their brows.”

How can you practice your brown tinting skills, you may ask? Take your hand and practice your brush stroke so you can get a feel on how heavy or light your hand needs to be to achieve the ideal tint for you.

If an at-home brow tint makes your nervous, plenty of salons offer brow tinting that can last you a couple of weeks.

3. Color ’em in

If you’ve got time in your schedule to color in your brows, Glossier’s Boy Brow product ($16 at Glossier) is a fan favorite.

Isabel Calkins, a junior at New York University. says, “It keeps your natural shape but just adds texture and volume. Basically giving you flawless brows.”

Boy Brow is available in three shades, and the gel-based formula lets you fake a natural brow thickness while the brush combs through your existing brow hair to make it look more neat and refined. This product is perfect for those no-makeup days because a nice thick brow will still make a statement without all of the fuss other makeup causes.

4. Keep them clean

Some of us are blessed with naturally thick brows, and it’s a beautiful thing. In order to keep them looking full and to keep us from looking like fools, you have to tame them. Lina* has Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS), which causes her hair to grow back quickly. Even if you aren’t dealing with a condition like PCOS, sometimes genetics make your eyebrows grow in faster than normal, which can make salon visits too frequent and costly.

“I use small facial razors to get the hair in between my brows and then I like to tweeze my brow hair because it gives me more control so I can get a more precise arch and try to avoid the ‘brows are sisters not twins’ saying,” she says.

Practice makes perfect when it comes to your brows, so when you’re taking a razor to them you have to remember to go slow.

5. Spread on a serum

If your sparse brows are getting you down and you’re too busy to pencil them in, do an overnight treatment. Anastasia Beverly Hills, a company known for its brow products, has a solution for you. Their Brow Enhancing Serum pen ($38 at Derm Store) lets you sleep while it does all of the work. This serum also comes in a convenient pen form that’s great to keep on your nightstand and apply right before you doze off.

Letting your brows grow in thicker with the help of vitamins will give you the shape that fits your face the best. After all, no one knows better than Mother Nature!

6. Stick to a brow pomade over the traditional pencil

Think about how fast pencil eyeliner can fade and smudge—would you want your brows melting off when you break a sweat running to class? No, we didn’t think so! To make sure your brows look as natural as possible (and stay that way), brow pomade beats an eyebrow pencil any day of the week.

Cult classic DIPBROW Pomade ($18 at Sephora) offers a range of colors and the waterproof formula that makes sure you can count on your brows to be full and fabulous until the end of the day.

7. Stay loyal when it comes to the salon

When it comes to your brows, don't play any games. A trip to the salon can make your eyebrows look henious or amazing, so don't be afraid to spend a little time and money finding a professional who knows what they're doing. After all, your eyebrows are a very distinct feature! Amber Ellsworth, who works at Swank Hair Studio in Pittsburgh, PA, warns against salon hopping when it comes to your brows.

"Stay regular with your waxing or threading, and stay loyal once you find someone who does them how you like them," she says. "Nothing is worse than letting your and your stylist's hard work go to waste."

If you keep going to the same salon, you're going to ease the eyebrow styling experience and you're never going to be disappointed with the results.

Ellsworth gives one more piece of advice: "Resist the urge to tweeze!"

If you follow these tips, bold brows are certainly in your future. To find the best way to figure out your eyebrow routine, give everything a trial run. If you find out that you’re always waking up 10 minutes before class, an overnight or long-lasting brow treatment is for you. But if you’re an early riser, shaping and filling may be the ticket to gorgeous brows. Find your beauty routine and show the world that with a good brow, you can conquer anything.

Job Title and Description: Creative Director of Anne Klein

College Name/Major: FIDM (Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising)- Major in Fashion Design

What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

I oversee the overall creative direction for the Anne Klein brand. Each day is different-  I research design trends, fabrics and materials, meet with design and creative marketing teams and sketch for upcoming collections. There are never enough hours in a day.

What is the best part of your job?

The best part of my job is being inspired by other great designers who I am so lucky to work with.

What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?

The first thing I ever worked on was my own collection of skateboard/snowboard inspired clothing. I grew up surrounded by the industry, my father was on the product development side of the fashion industry and San Diego is a mecca for action sports companies, it all felt very familiar to me from the get-go.  I borrowed a few thousand dollars from parents and created a small sample line of apparel that I then took it to an industry trade show, where I wrote our first orders.  Over the next eight years I really learned a lot; everything from product development to shipping to stores!

What words of wisdom do you find most valuable?

Keep it simple.

What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?

I’ve made the mistake along the way of trying to please too many people too much of the time, whether it was in product design or making workplace decision. I have learned that when you do that you lose your point of view, which is the most important and valuable thing to keep hold of.

What has been the most surreal moment of your career thus far?

One of the most surreal moments of my career thus far has been meeting with Donna Karan shortly after taking this position at Anne Klein to discuss her memories of Anne and the brand, it is an incredible privilege to follow her footsteps at a brand with such a strong heritage in American fashion.  I have always been a huge fan of Donna and Anne Klein’s work so for both of those worlds to come together in that way was incredible.

What do you look for when considering hiring someone?

I look for genuine passion – it is so important to be passionate about the things you are creating, it gives your work a sense of authenticity.

What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?

Get as much experience as possible – take as many internships and classes as you possibly can, you never know who you will meet and where the road will lead you.

What's the one thing that's stood out to you the most in a resume?

I look at where people have studied, where they have interned, where they have worked previously and for how long they have worked somewhere.  I like to see applicable experience, dedication, strong drive and distinct sense of direction.

This Girl's Aunt Looks Just Like Cole Sprouse, & the Internet Is Loving It

Don't freak out, but there may actually be Sprouse triplets. Okay, just kidding, but this girl's aunt looks scarily similar to Cole Sprouse - and the Internet is totally losing it over the resemblance.

As Cosmopolitan noticed, earlier this week, Samantha Church took to Twitter to share an old, blurry picture of her aunt all dressed up in a ~lewk~. It looks like any old photograph - except when you look closer and realize that her aunt is basically Cole Sprouse that *iconic* time he dressed up as a "Tyreesha" on The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

It turns out that the Internet totally agrees: Samantha's tweet was retweeted over 13,000 times - oh and one of them was Cole Sprouse himself, so he obviously approves.

Of course, the responses she received from the rest of Twitter were also totally amazing:

There's only one logical explanation here, you guys: there is definitely a Sprouse triplet in hiding somewhere that the world doesn't know about. Obviously.

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn’t Gossip About Your Ex

$
0
0

It doesn’t matter who you are, a breakup is a shitty experience for everyone. If only all of the negative feelings associated with your ex could just magically disappear—but, unfortunately, they can’t. There are many things you should do to help you heal from a breakup, and there are many things you shouldn’t do. What’s one of them? Gossiping about your ex.

No matter how much resentment you hold toward your ex, you should avoid speaking badly about them. If you’re wondering why, look no further! We’ve consulted April Masini, a relationship and etiquette expert, to spill the truth on this unhealthy habit.

1. Your ex is your ex for a reason

You’ve heard it before, collegiettes—leave the past in the past! By gossiping about your ex, you are inadvertently carrying him or her into your future, and you cannot successfully move on this way.

Masini reiterates this point. “Bringing your ex back into your life by gossiping doesn’t help you move forward,” she says. “Start spending your energy on new, fresh, positive people and things. Let your ex fade into the background!” When a chapter in your life finishes, don’t keep rereading it. Move onto the next one (hint: it’s probably a better one, anyway)!

2. It is bad branding for yourself

You should always prioritize your relationships with other people, but never at the expense of your own reputation. After all, you’re stuck with yourself for life! When you gossip about an ex, not only are you hurting their image, but you are also hurting your own.

Think of yourself as a brand and this gossiping as bad branding. “When you gossip about anyone, you’re speaking ill of them,” Masini says. “That ends up making you look worse than anything bad you had to say about that ex. Do you really want to be a person who’s known for spreading negativity?” No matter how much this person might have hurt you, you can rise above the pain by acting mature.

3. You could be distorting the truth

If you’ve ever had a rumor spread about you, you know that it is usually based on a lie someone made up to hurt you. You also know how annoying it can be to get people to believe the truth! Why would you want to distort the truth for someone else? Trust us, it is not worth it.

“Gossip is at least once removed from the truth—and often twice, three times or more removed,” she says. “You know what happens when you whisper down the lane: you get a distorted truth. Chances are, the gossip you are spreading isn’t true.” Stop with the lies and get off the gossip train!

Additionally, when you gossip about your ex, you become part of the gossip about your ex. “The story will be told that YOU said such and such about your ex, and now you’re not just listening or telling gossip, you’re part of the story,” Masini says. Once again, you are hurting your own image.

Related: The 7 Types of Breakups That Happen in College

4. It prevents you from actually feeling single

Think about it, ladies: how will you ever truly understand what it means to be single if you keep bringing up a previous relationship? Newsflash: you won’t.

By gossiping about an ex, you are engaging in his or her life. “In your mind, you’re back together in some form,” Masini says. “This keeps you from really feeling single and until you feel single, you can’t truly move on and find fresh, new love with someone else.” Stop the gossip and open your heart to someone new.

5. It can make things awkward

If you dated your ex for a long time, chances are you have mutual friends. Please, for the sake of everyone involved, don’t make it awkward for those people. Gossiping about your ex puts your friends in an uncomfortable position. No matter how much you dislike this person, it really isn’t fair to expect others to do the same.

For Kristen, a student at UNC Chapel Hill, speaking ill of your ex does nothing but foster bitterness. “Talking about your ex can be unappealing to people around you, and can make you look catty and spiteful,” she says. “If you and your ex have mutual friends, it may put them in an awkward position.” Just because you aren’t friends with your ex does not mean you have to have bad blood.

Rachel Petty, a senior at James Madison University, feels similarly. “My ex and I are in the same friend group, so anything either of us says is bound to get back to the other,” she says. “Also, we used to be super close and still care about each other, so there’s no reason to throw around negativity!” We could not agree more.

A breakup will never ever be an enjoyable experience, collegiettes. No matter how hurt you may feel, keep this in mind and understand that better days are ahead. But, the only way to get to the good days is to let go of the bad days. You’re too good to be wasting your time gossiping about your ex, so just don’t do it!

Vogue's New Cover Got Gender Fluidity Really Wrong

$
0
0

Over the past year, the fashion industry has taken up the concept of gender fluidity to create the latest trends, clearly reflected by brands the like of Rick Owens, Gucci and even H&M.

Celebrities Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik graced Vogue's newest August issue, posing in Gucci suits under the headline: "Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Are Part of a New Generation Embracing Gender Fluidity." It's great that Vogue has chosen to talk about gender fluidity in a positive manner - too bad it was totally misguided. Gigi and Zayn wearing each other's clothes does not equate to being gender fluid in any way at all.

The article highlights this important point: "But where, exactly, is someone neither entirely he nor she meant to shop?" However, Vogue did not choose to answer this question nor address anything relevant to all gender clothing. The cover story featuring Zayn and Gigi, who do not identify as gender fluid, fails to address fashion for those who identify so.

Twitter was quick to call out Vogue's misguided idea of gender fluidity, saying "men and women swapping clothes doesn't represent gender fluidity because you're still saying there are men and women. That's the whole point," said one user. Another comment added, "Think Vogue is a bit confused on what gender fluidity is! Wearing your GF's T-shirt does not make you gender fluid."

The magazine offered a limited definition of gender fluidity and instead portrayed it as a fashion trend worn by a straight couple, posing in each other's clothing. However, the term gender fluidity refers to "individuals who reject the gender binary to exist on a spectrum of gender identity." Try again, Vogue.

Vogue Apologized for Referring to Gigi Hadid & Zayn Malik as Gender Fluid

$
0
0

Society has progressed when it comes to seeing gender as a spectrum, as opposed to a black-and-white binary of male or female. Last week, Vogue tried to capture this idea, but truly failed to accurately represent the gender fluid community.

The magazine got itself in major hot water after releasing its August issue. The cover features celebrity couple Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik wearing mis-matched blazers, pants, belts and patterned collared shirts. The article described how Hadid and Malik "shop each other's closets," with the headline "Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik are Part of a New Generation Embracing Gender Fluidity." This is a huge problem.

First of all, Hadid and Malik don't identify as gender fluid, which would mean that they do not identify as having a fixed gender. In the article, the model and singer couple talk about simply borrowing clothing from each other. “I shop in your closet all the time, don’t I?” Hadid asked. “Yeah, but same,” Malik replied. “What was that T-shirt I borrowed the other day?” “The Anna Sui?” she asked. “Yeah,” Malik said. “I like that shirt. And if it’s tight on me, so what? It doesn’t matter if it was made for a girl.”

“Totally. It’s not about gender. It’s about, like, shapes. And what feels good on you that day. And anyway, it’s fun to experiment," Hadid said. Apparently this translated into Vogue labeling them as gender fluid.

So what's the issue? The problem is, in part, that the story makes light of a serious social problem where people from the LGBTQ+ community and people who identify as non-binary are treated poorly by others. Even though same-sex marriage is legal in the U.S., that doesn't stop people from bullying or harassing queer people or people who are truly gender fluid. It's not okay for Vogue to portray two cisgendered celebrities as gender fluid just because they wear unisex clothing or clothing meant for another gender—that's not gender fluid. It makes gender fluid people's identity seem like a trivial choice instead of part of their lives.

Jacob Tobia, who identifies as gender fluid, wrote in to Cosmopolitan about the cover, saying that it's wonderful the couple is in touch with their gender in terms of self-expression. But, Jacob says the problem is implying they're at the forefront of social change, when in reality, gender fluidity is becoming normalized because of the work of generations of activists. Thus the "sanitized 'gender progressive' aesthetic'" of the "cultural elite" appropriates those efforts and "totally whitewashes the lived experiences of gender-nonconforming people ... in the name of being 'edgy.'"

"Let me spell it out for you: Unlike how this new Vogue cover shoot presents it, the lived experience of being gender-nonconforming is rarely that fun and glamorous ... It looks like being spit on in public, or like being terrified to leave the house because the night before, someone on the subway yelled that you should be set on fire. On an average walk through New York City in a dress, I will receive anywhere between 10 and 20 slurs," Jacob wrote.

As one Twitter user put it, the incident is giving non-binary people a bad reputation. "It's not fair that they get praised for wearing button up shirts while actual nonbinary people get taunted and invalidated when asking people to use the right pronouns." Here's what Twitter users had to say:

Basically, wearing matching corduroy suits does not make you gender fluid. Yet the Vogue article says, "This new blasé attitude toward gender codes marks a radical break ... Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik snuggle in interchangeable tracksuits."Not the same thing. Wearing boyfriend jeans doesn't make you transgender and borrowing your S.O.'s comfy sweatshirt doesn't mean you're gender fluid. However, it is refreshing to see that Hadid and Malik aren't bound by traditional definitions of femininity and masculinity in terms of the clothing they wear. We're all about wearing what you want, as long as it's not misrepresented.

So what were Hadid and Malik's reaction to this? They're staying out of the gender fluid debate, but seem to be happy with the way the spread turned out.

Vogue apologized for the headline and changed the title to "Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik Are Part of a New Generation Who Don’t See Fashion as Gendered." I guess it's better. “The story was intended to highlight the impact the gender-fluid, non-binary communities have had on fashion and culture,” a Vogue representative told People. “We are very sorry the story did not correctly reflect that spirit — we missed the mark. We do look forward to continuing the conversation with greater sensitivity.” We're glad they apologized, but now we need to work on getting more LGBTQ+ individuals on magazine covers so they can accurately describe their own identities.

Every year, H&M releases a new collection featuring the creations of high-end designers in (somewhat) more affordable designs. Previous collaborations include other top fashion brands such as Balmain, Jimmy Choo and Rei Kawabuko. The massive fashion retailer will now be collaborating with London based Erdem, known for its dreamy and feminine selections that often grace the red carpets by many well-known celebs such as Emma Stone, Kiera Knightley and Alexa Chung.

Creator Erdem promises a "full wardrobe of his famously feminine womenswear, an accessories line and, for the first time ever, a collection for men." And that's not all, talented director Baz Luhman will unveil the collection in the most fitting manner for fashion this amazing: a short film comparable to that of Luhman's past works, The Great Gatsby and Moulin Rouge.

"I am so happy to collaborate with H&M, and to explore my work on a whole new scale, including a menswear collection which I have never done before,” Moralioglu said in a press release. “It’s also such a thrill to work with Baz Luhrmann, one of the most important storytellers of our time.” The highly anticipated collection will be available on November 2 in 22 countries, both in stores and online.

Armpit Tattoos Are Officially The New Coolest Tattoo Trend

Tattoos are a great way to express and individualize yourself, but if your parents were anything like mine, they told you not to get any tattoos that can't be covered up with clothing. Tattoo lovers have found the perfect happy-medium for that rule by starting an armpit tattoo trend. Yes, you read that correctly, armpit tattoos are a thing now. These new tattoos has been all over social media, enticing some to hop on the bandwagon.

The armpit tattoos range from beautiful flowers to geometric patterns, each one more eye catching then the next.

While some may think getting a tattoo in a spot with such thin skin definetly has to hurt, however, tattoo artist, Tessia Elisse, says otherwise. When interviewed by Today, the tattoo artist stated, "Females shave their armpits more often, so we’re gradually getting desensitized. It's more tender for guys because they don't shave there as often."

If an armpit tattoo has been something you've been thinking about getting lately, don't let the pain scare you away! They're a perfect way to stand apart from the crowd, and a great conversation starter.

Caitlyn Jenner Is Considering Running for Senate

Caitlyn Jenner is the latest celebrity to consider the idea of running for political office. Following singer Kid Rock’s announcement that he intends to run for Senate, Jenner, the transgender activist and former reality show star, appeared on New York’s AM 970 to state that she, too, was considering a Senate run.

"I like the political side of it," Jenner said in her interview with radio host John Catsimatidis. "I work very closely with a group called the American Unity Fund, and their mission statement is to get the Republican Party to do a better job when it comes to all LGBT issues. That’s my issue.”

Jenner went on to say, "Over the next six months or so, I've got to find out where I can do a better job. Can I do a better job from the outside and kind of work in the perimeter of the political scene? Or are we better off from the inside? And we are in the process of determining that. But I am looking for a senatorial run."

According to TheLos Angeles Times, Jenner intends to make a decision about her bid for Senate within the next six months.

Jenner is no stranger to politics. As a lifelong Republican and supporter of President Donald Trump, she has maintained her conservative stance, stating in an April interview with Fox News host Tucker Carlson: “I believe in limited government. I believe in our Constitution.”

Jenner faces a challenging road ahead. If she decides to run for Senate in 2018, when Senate Democrat Dianne Feinstein is up for reelection, Jenner must contend with running as a conservative candidate in liberal California, which voted overwhelmingly against President Trump in the 2016 election, according to the LA Times.

California has emerged as a vocal opponent of the Trump administration’s agenda, and Democratic Senators Dianne Feinstein and Kamala Harris, as well California’s Democratic Governor Jerry Brown, have opposed Trump on matters related to climate change, the Muslim Ban, immigration and other progressive issues.

Jenner also faces overwhelming criticism from right-wing groups that are anti-LGBT. Earlier this week, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) and Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-TX) came under fire for stating that transgender people should not serve in the military, as reported by The Hill. Rep. King later went on a tirade comparing gender reassignment surgeries and hormone therapies to the castration of enslaved soldiers in the Ottoman Empire, angering transgender activists and members of the LGBT community.

Jenner is aware of the long uphill battle she faces if she decides to run, stating in her radio interview, “I hope to change the perception of the Republican Party and make it the party of equality.” She might not be the only reality star in her family to consider politics—rumors are floating that Kanye West may consider running for President in 2020. Who knows—we just might live to see the day of a Jenner-West ticket for the White House.

A College Student Died Mysteriously at a Mexican Resort, & Her Family Is Still Trying to Figure Out What Happened

In January, 20-year-old Abbey Conner, a former student at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, died during a family vacation at a five-star resort in Playa del Carmen, Mexico. Months later, her family is still searching for answers about her mysterious death, ABC News reports.

According to ABC News, Abbey reportedly drowned while swimming in a pool with her 23-year-old brother, Austin Conner, at the Iberostar Paraiso Resort. Austin Conner told the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel that while at a swim-up bar, he and his sister had celebrated the end of finals with "a couple shots of tequila."

The Journal Sentinel reports that Abbey and Austin's mother and stepfather got worried when neither of them showed up for dinner that evening. They learned some time later that the two had been taken to the emergency room, which was 14 miles away from the resort. ABC News reports that the officials from the resort told Abbey and Austin's mom and stepfather that their kids were unconscious and found facedown in the pool. Austin suffered a concussion, and Abbey had a broken collarbone and was announced brain-dead before she was flown to a hospital in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Hotel officials told the Conners that Abbey's death was an "accidental drowning," but the family is not satisfied with that answer.

Bill Conner, Abby and Austin's biological father who was not at the resort, told the Journal Sentinel that he thinks the shots his kids took at the pool may have had drugs added to them—and Ginny McGowan, Abbey's mother, told the Journal Sentinel that even after reaching out for information, the FBI branch in Milwaukee has not helped her in the search for answers about her daughter's mysterious death.

ABC News reports that the U.S. Department of State is aware of Abbey Conner's death and offers condolences to the family—but the family is not giving up on finding out what actually happened to Abbey at the resort in Mexico.

Here's What a New Poll Shows About Trump's Approval Rating in Counties That Helped Him Win

It's been six months since President Donald Trump took office—and a new poll conducted by The Wall Street Journal and NBC News reveals what adults in U.S. counties that significantly contributed to Trump's election victory really think of his performance.

According to the poll, 50 percent of people in these counties approve of Trump's performance since becoming POTUS, and 46 percent of people disapprove of his job performance. Last month, the WSJ and NBC News released a national poll and found that Trump's approval rating was 40 percent and his dissaproval rating was 55 percent.

The most recent survey included 600 adults—including Democrats, Republicans and Independents—from 439 counties in 16 states: Colorado, Florida, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Virginia and Wisconsin. The WSJ and NBC News call the counties they selected to be polled "Trump Counties" for two reasons: Either because the counties previously went for Barack Obama and switched to Trump in 2016, or because they're counties where significantly more people voted for Trump in 2016 than Mitt Romney in 2012.

Even within the “Trump counties,” however, there’s a big difference in the approval ratings.

“Surge counties” are the counties where Trump’s win margin was much wider than Romney’s in 2012. There, 56 percent of the residents approve of how Trump is doing with his job in the White House. The “flip counties,” where Obama won in 2012 but Trump won in 2016, show an approval rating of 44 percent, twelve points lower than the surge counties. This seems to show that the tried and true #MAGA supporters are sticking by President Trump, despite his provocative tweets, accusations of Russian collusion during the 2016 election and other scandals and decisions that seem to make our nation even more polarized. But in the counties that previously went for Obama, voters might be getting sick of Trump's antics.

The Senate's Delaying a Vote to Repeal Obamacare Until John McCain Recovers From Surgery

The Republican agenda is currently hanging in the air. According to The Washington Post, Majority Leader Mitch McConnell needs Sen. John McCain's votes to pass a bill that will repeal the Affordable Care Act, or Obamacare. But there's one small problem—the Senate reconvened, but McCain is at home, recovering from a surgery to remove a blood clot from his left eye. He's not in any kind of shape to take a vote.

So, now that they've decided not to vote until he gets back, what happens? Democrats in Congress are urging Republicans to hold public hearings on the bill in the meantime, to have more voices heard. Minority Leader Chuck Schumer wrote: “This will allow members to hear unfiltered and unbiased analysis of how the bill will affect their states and the health and financial security of the constituents they represent."

Schumer also wants a more complete analysis of the bill from the Congressional Budget Office (CBO) while everyone waits. If you don't remember, the CBO already reported that over 22 million more Americans would be uninsured by 2026 under the bill. More analysis will likely uncover more issues with the bill, which will make it even more difficult to pass.

ABC went into more detail about McCain's condition, saying he had a blood clot "in a minimally invasive craniotomy with an eyebrow incision." A family friend told ABC that they "had heard McCain would need three weeks to recover from the surgery."

It's not looking great for the GOP's attempts to repeal and replace Obamacare.

R. Kelly Is Being Accused of Holding Women Against Their Will in a 'Cult'

With hits such as “I Believe I Can Fly” and “Ignition,” R. Kelly is without a doubt a successful R&B artist, with the awards and platinum records to prove it. He's even been described by The New York Times as the “modern day Prince.”

However, outside of the studio, Kelly has drawn criticism and controversy, especially after he married his 15-year-old protégé Aaliyah in 1994 with a falsified wedding certificate. Over the past few decades, Kelly has faced repeated allegations of sexual misconduct, from statutory rape to child pornography. (He's also infamous for allegedly urinating on a girl in a 26-minute sex tape.) Most of his civil lawsuits have been settled in cash payments, according to Village Voice. But despite this plethora of accusations, he’s still as popular as ever—at least according to the Times.

A recent allegation that six women are being held in his Chicago and Atlanta homes has ignited a furor, though, especially in light of his history of alleged misdemeanors and what some call a pattern of "predation."

BuzzFeed reported Monday that six women, including a 31-year-old "den mother," a 26-year-old songwriter and a 19-year-old model, are allegedly being held against their will by R. Kelly in what parents of the women involved describe as a "cult." The article alleges that Kelly used his fame and influence to manipulate starstruck young women—some of whom were high school students when their relationships with the artist began—into moving in with him and cutting off most contact with the outside world. According to the women's parents, Kelly promised to mentor and advance their music careers; one girl's parents even allowed her to travel on tour with him to help her learn the music industry.

However, that professional mentorship (if there ever was one) reportedly turned sexual and controlling. Three former members of Kelly's inner circle say the rumors are true, telling BuzzFeed that Kelly controls every aspect of the women's lives. They also said that he requires his “babies” to call him “Daddy,” the women are not allowed to contact anyone without permission, and Kelly records their sexual encounters. Though the women themselves are all of legal age and have not expressed any distress, one parent calls the situation "a mind-control thing." Another parent says that her daughter seemed "brainwashed" the last time she saw her.

After reading the article, furious Twitter users expressed their outrage.

R. Kelly's lawyer, Linda Mensch, responded to the accusations in an email to BuzzFeed. “We can only wonder why folks would persist in defaming a great artist who loves his fans, works 24/7, and takes care of all of the people in his life."

Kelly himself has yet to respond to the allegations, but it's likely he'll maintain his innocence, just as he has in the face of past accusations. The parents, however, are determined to keep fighting. "It's not [just] about my daughter, per se," one of the fathers told BuzzFeed. "It's about all the girls."

We LOVE the Reason Miley Cyrus Chooses to Do Her Own Makeup for Shoots

Miley Cyrus is the definition of good girl gone bad girl, gone good again. When she was known for sticking her tongue out and riding a huge wrecking ball, she proudly explored that version of herself without shame. Now she's swtiching gears with confidence again, and is embracing a more natural, happier and healthier Miley. In fact, the "Malibu" singer thinks her current, minimal look is even more punk than before.

In an interview with Harper’s Baazar, Miley opens up, saying she felt like it was becoming expected of her to act and look a certain way. “It became something that was expected of me. I didn’t want to show up to photo shoots and be the girl who would get my tits out and stick out my tongue," she explains. "In the beginning, it was kind of like saying, ‘Fuck you. Girls should be able to have this freedom or whatever.’ But it got to a point where I did feel sexualized.”

Now, instead of meeting everybody else's expectations, Miley is setting her own. This is why she does her own makeup for shoots, so she's able to keep it minimal and in control. “Even at the Met Gala, everyone had their boobs out, everyone had their ass out, so what’s punk about that now?” she points out. If keeping it lowkey is punk now, we’re definitely on board. And we're even more about women taking charge of their bodies in the media, instead of someone else sexualizing them.

4 Signs You’re Succeeding at Your Internship

You’ve just begun to settle into the routine of your internship. But even if the sleep and coffee deprivation is beginning to wear you down, don’t despair! There’s a good chance that your internship is going better than you think it is, especially if you’ve been proactive in the workplace. Here are four signs that you’re succeeding at your internship.

1. You fit into the company (culture)

Internships for college students are more competitive than ever today. Sometimes, you don’t end up being accepted into your first choice internship–maybe not even your second or third choice. Even if you’ve landed your dream internship, it might end up being a lot more boring that you thought it would be. Coffee runs and making copies aren’t exactly how you imagined spending your time. So if you’ve managed to love your internship so far, it’s a good sign that it’s going well!

Just as important as the company’s field is how the company goes about achieving its mission. Company culture shines through in many factors, ranging from its social media posts to employee dress code. Certain companies today pride themselves on their innovative outlook, while others retain a hierarchal structure.

Ava Danville, Assistant Director at Hofstra’s University’s Career Center, emphasizes the importance of finding your niche within the organization. “Building community within the organization, including formal and informal networking, will also help you adjust."

Katie Kochanny, a rising senior from Michigan State University, has learned a lot from her three internships. She suggests that your gut intuition is a good indicator of your success. “Starting a new internship can be a scary experience,” she says. “But, once you find yourself getting more comfortable, you’ll start seeing how far you’ve come!”

If you agree with the company’s mission, there’s a better chance that everybody will come out of the internship happier!

2. Your responsibilities have grown

While you might not appreciate the growing pile of papers on your desk, it’s definitely a sign that your boss trusts you more. You’re no longer performing busy work, for starters.

Katie recommends asking a lot of questions to showcase your initiative. "If you don’t understand something, ask,” she suggests. “You’re there for a reason. If you find yourself waiting for things to do, ask for more. Don't be afraid to ask about what you should be doing or what else you could be working on."

If you’re getting overwhelmed and stressed, reach out for help. You don't want to burn out, after all! Any company worth your while understands the importance of team-based efforts.

3. You’re being introduced to people

Who you know is just as important as what you know, especially in the business environment. While the word networking may seem daunting, it doesn’t have to be a challenge. Start small–introduce yourself to one new person every day–and shoot big!

Making small talk is key. Chances are that you have something in common with your co-workers, whether it’s a favorite ice cream flavor or a basketball player. Also, if you’re being introduced amongst the team or invited to company-sponsored events, there’s a chance that they’re trying to see if you'd be a good fit!

Danville suggests starting off by looking for common ground. “In the event that there are affinity groups (ex. same school, ethnicity, sexual orientation, etc.) at your organization, I recommend getting involved with those as well so that you making sure that different people get to meet you; you never know who will end up advocating for you.”

Who knows whom they know? Even if you’re not being introduced to prospective employers during a job fair, informational interviews with career professionals always help.

4. Your opinion is valued

People recognize you–not just as Coffee Girl or That One Intern with the Yellow Shorts, but by your actual name. Even better, people recognize you for your work and are reaching out to you for help!

Being an intern is often like being like a fly on the wall. You are often going into a field or industry that you have little or no experience in. Compared to some of the experts sitting in the same room, it might feel as though you have nothing to contribute to the discussion–besides coffee orders, of course.

Nonetheless, Danville encourages interns to voice their opinions. “You were hired for a reason and key influencers want to hear what you have to say,” she advises. “Take some time to understand how your supervisor and others like to receive information. Knowing how to communicate with your key influencers will help you better pitch your ideas.”

Even if you’re hesitant about joining in, it’s okay. “Ask lots of questions and be curious!”

If your opinion’s being asked for and better yet, being considered in decision making processes, it’s definitely something to be proud about. From something as simple as what sushi restaurant you want to eat lunch to what project you believe would be the most fiscally sustainable, if your input is requested, it is probably valued. So, if you feel that the situation is appropriate, step up to the plate and share your opinion!

Even if you don’t identify with any of these four signs, knowing you, you’re probably on your A-game. Regardless of whether you’ve made a few mistakes, there’s definitely tons of time to rebound. Keep up the work and if you play your cards right, your internship might just turn into a full-time job offer. Shoot...and score!

Ed Sheeran's 'Game of Thrones' Cameo Actually Mattered, In Case You Didn't Know

If you've been living under a rock or if the medieval, fantasy drama just couldn't be further from your interests, then you may have missed the long-awaited Game of Thrones Season 7 premiere last night. In true GoT spirit, a couple hundred soldiers were massacred, dragons filled the sky and feces had a cameo. While none of these things was surprising, some fans did a double-take when famous pop star Ed Sheeran appeared in the forest. For the most part, Sheeran's character seemed insignificant—just another face among the group of Lannisters with whom Arya feasts on rabbit. But fans of A Song of Ice and Fire, the book series that inspired GoT, know there's more to the brief encounter.

Arya hears Sheeran's character before seeing him, and he's singing a song that appears in the books. In the books, the song is called "Hands of Gold," and it's used to foreshadow a dark incident involving Tyrion Lannister; someone is about to be blackmailed or maybe even killed. Perhaps, it means the same in the television series. The lyrics mention a secret relationship. Since Tyrion has moved away, fans are suspiscious of whether Sheeran's song could foreshadow a bad event happening to Jamie, the other Lannister brother who just happens to have a gold hand.

I'm positive that diehard fans will be theorizing about its significance for weeks, and I can't wait to tune in next week.
