Blac Chyna Will Be Seeking a Restraining Order Against Rob Kardashian

0
0

In case you somehow missed it, Rob Kardashian went on a full-on social media rant earlier this week about his former fiancée Blac Chyna, posting nude photos of her and accusing her of cheating on him before his Instagram was subsequently shut down. Since then, many have been wondering whether Chyna will take legal action considering Rob's actions could be considered "revenge porn" - and it looks like we have our answer.

Cosmopolitan reports that Blac Chyna has announced that she will be seeking a restraining order against Karadashian, and she's already hired high-profile civil rights attorney Lisa Bloom to represent her. According to Bloom's tweet on Friday, Rob has already been given notice.

Bloom told TMZ that she considers the case to be a women's rights issue, and that, contrary to Rob's side of the story, the two have actually been broken up for months. "Rob needs to back off," she reportedly told the site.

Stay tuned, because it looks like the social media drama between the former couple and parents to 7-month-old Dream Kardashian was only just the beginning.

Kendall & Kylie Jenner Are Being Sued for Those 'Vintage' T-Shirts With Their Faces on Them

0
0

It turns out there will be more consequences for Kendall and Kylie Jenner for selling those those "vintage" band t-shirts than simply being dragged on the Internet - the Jenner sisters are now being faced with a lawsuit over them.

ICYMI, people were less than thrilled earlier this week when some at the sisters' Kendall + Kylie brand thought it would be a good idea to sell band t-shirts - featuring musicians like Tupac, The Doors and The Notorious B.I.G. - with images the sisters' faces and Instagrams overlaid on them.

For obvious reasons, photographer Michael Miller was amongst those who weren't happy when he found out his images of Tupac Shakur were being used on the shirts without his permission, and TMZ reports that he's suing Kendall and Kylie for any profits they made from the shirt. (Which, TBH, we're guessing isn't all that much money considering the reactions on Twitter.) Meanwhile, Kendall and Kylie's representative told TMZ that Miller's lawsuit was like "suing an actor for being in a movie," since the sisters didn't actually make the shirts.

The Jenner sisters had also previously been threatened with a lawsuit by Notorious B.I.G.’s mother, Voletta Wallace, but only if they didn't take the shirts down. (Which they later did.)

Kendall did take to Twitter to issue an apology following the backlash, so I guess that's at least something?

15 Things Only Chronically Early People Will Understand

0
0

We collegiettes that are chronically early are a rare breed of human. We didn't ask to be this way, and we definitely didn't ask for all the struggles and awkward moments that come along with this habit. These 15 struggles are something we can all relate to.

1. No matter how hard you try, you always wake up before your alarm.

Because your brain knows it's coming and just can't let the alarm be earlier than you.

2. You have an excess of downtime to sit around on your phone before work, school, etc.

Needless to say you've become a pro at Candy Crush.

3. You're always the first to show up when hanging out with friends.

And you try hard not to foam at the mouth when they're late.

4.  You've gone to extreme lengths before an event to make it look like you weren't there super early.

Nobody can know how embarrassingly early you are.

5. Like hiding in a bathroom...

And redoing your makeup.

6. Ducking down in your car so no one will see you...

While wearing sunglasses and a hat.

7. And casually walking around the block five times so it always looks like you're just approaching.

Because you have to make the perfect entrance!

8. If you ever show up to something late, you behave like a maniac the rest of the day.

Your eye ~literally~ will not stop twitching.

9. Having an SO who's chronically late is one of your worst nightmares.

Even if he's freaking Ryan Gosling, the relationship probably isn't worth the stress.

10. When you arrive at the movies, the theater is so empty that the trivia questions haven't even started.

It also means you finish your popcorn long before the film even starts.

11. Your classroom is usually empty too, which means you always get first pick of the seats.

And some free time to dance around the classroom.

12. You have a weird spidey sense for potential traffic and subway delays.

As well as a mental list of every possible alternate route.

13. Your friends hate when you show up early to things.

AGAIN?!

14. So you end up sitting on their couch and petting their dog for an hour until they finally finish getting ready.

It's routine at this point.

15. You can't help but roll your eyes when people congratulate you for being punctual.

It's not a lifestyle choice people, it's a habit deeply rooted in anxiety. *uncomfortable laughter*

Drake Bell Says He Has No Hard Feelings About His Snubbed Invite to Josh Peck's Wedding

It’s always upsetting when we find out that the actors from our favorite childhood haven’t stayed in touch, but what’s even worse is seeing them feud so publicly on social media. Drake Bell and Josh Peck of Drake & Josh were the latest stars to have a social media fight, seen when Drake went off on Josh on Twitter because he wasn’t invited to Josh’s wedding last month.

“When you’re not invited to the wedding the message is clear,” Drake wrote in now-deleted tweets. “True colors have come out today. Message is loud and clear. Ties are officially cut. I’ll miss you brotha.”

The boys’ former costar Miranda Cosgrove awkwardly sidestepped questions about the wedding at a recent event, and Josh’s Grandfathered costar John Stamos even poked fun at the feud on his own Instagram account. Needless to say, this was definitely becoming one of the most random yet heartbreaking celeb friendship splits ever.

Now, Drake is stepping forward and insisting that all is well again with Josh. Um, what?

PEOPLEreports that Drake said “there are no hard feelings” about his snubbed invite. “He’s been my best friend for 18 years,” he told PEOPLE. “In all honestly, we talk all the time, we’ve been talking. I was just expecting…”

Although he admitted he didn’t expect his outburst to receive so much attention online, Drake wasn’t a fan of how people went after Josh afterwards. “That’s my bro you know?” he shared. “It’s kind of one of those things where you’re fighting with him on the playground, but if someone else says something, you’re like, ‘Hey, I can say that but you can’t!’”

Well, all brothers can have some pretty intense fights sometimes. I’m still waiting for Josh’s opinion on this fiasco, but it’s good to know that Drake has forgiven him.

I Wore Heels Every Day For a Week & (Barely) Survived

0

I have a confession to make: I am short. Ok, well it’s not much of a confession if you've ever actually stood next to me, but still. Ever since I was in 5th grade and stopped growing, I have been a whopping 4 feet and eleven inches tall. So yeah, I am pretty short. When I was growing up my height always seemed to be a topic of discussion and even now, people cannot help but comment on it. In fact, I was getting so sick of being called short, small, tiny, cute, petite, etc., that I decided I would join the world of normal sized people and wear heels for an entire week.

Now, before we go into exactly how this made me feel, let’s cover a few definitions. First, heels: to me, that is anything with a slight lift. Because of my height, it was somewhat impossible for me to wear stilettos to work because otherwise I wouldn’t be able to walk. When someone as small as me decides to suddenly be tall, it’s like walking on stilts. So safe to say that I stuck with shoes in the 2 to 4 inch range.

On the first day, I picked a pair of small red heels to go with my black and white dress. They had been my mom's so they weren’t the most comfortable shoes and they were a tad big because I have the smallest feet in my family. The day was pretty easy because I work in an office where I don’t do much walking but I did have to commute to and from work on the DC metro. In the morning, it was a breeze because my feet weren't in pain yet and I was feeling pretty powerful with my new perspective on the world (aka being tall). Also, full disclosure: I do wear heels pretty often but never consistently because of how badly my feet hurt walking around NYC, where I live during the year. But because it’s summer, and I am living and working in Washington, D.C., I haven’t been wearing them.

This is the closest I'm gonna get to not wearing black this summer #ootd #shabbatshalom #rochester #summer

A photo posted by Isabel Lara (@isabelcalkins) on

After it was time to leave work on that first day my feet were still intact and not too sore but on the walk back from the metro... that’s when I felt it. Literally the second I got home I took off my heels and threw on my Uggs. So much better.

The next day I was ready to put on my heels again because I had a stellar outfit picked out. I wore a pair of black shoes with a thicker heel and jeans. I was a bit nervous about this outfit because I knew that I had a party to go to after dinner so I wouldn’t be able to switch into flats. The day went by just like the first day although I did trip a few times on the sidewalk. Oh, and walking up the escalator on my commute home. So by the end of the day my feet were even more sore than the first day and I was ready for a day of sneakers.

Hand me downs and pick me ups downtown  #ootd #fashion

A photo posted by Isabel Lara (@isabelcalkins) on

Days three and four were a blur because I wore the same pair of lace up heels. I was running out of shoe options so wearing the same pair was only logical. Again, my feet hurt even more but I was getting used to being taller. On day five I actually put on heels without even thinking about it because I was so used to wearing them.

By this point I had made it through the end of my workweek and it was time for the weekend. This meant it was time to bring out the big guns: aka my cutest pair of heels... also known as the most uncomfortable. So far I had made it through the week wearing only heels with the exception of a yoga class and walking around the house so I was used to the feel of them by now. On Saturday night, my second to last day, I wore some super-high lace-up Steve Madden heels. Worst. Decision. Ever. (The shoes were not worthy of an updated #OOTD pic so here is a #TBT to show the "devil shoes.")

Although I only went out to dinner wearing them, I was ready to walk home barefoot because of the pain that I was in. I had been wearing small heels so when I switched to a five-inch pair, my body definitely was not ready. I could walk fine because of my years of watching America’s Next Top Model but my toes and heels were in such pain afterwards. Because of that evening, I decided to cut my week of heels short and end it there.

Overall, there are a few major things that I learned about wearing heels every single day for an entire week. First off, being tall is super fun! You can reach things easily, look people in the eye, and people actually think you are your age instead of a 12-year-old girl! I also felt more confident wearing heels. Because they are usually seen as more professional, I had this mentality all week that I was a badass woman in charge, though that's probably debatable.

I know that people say that you have to accept the things you cannot change, like my height, but wearing heels is in my control and I think because of this week I will continue to wear them at least a few days a week. That said, I’m gonna stick to heels that aren’t taller than my iPhone.

Justin Trudeau Made the Queen Laugh in a Meeting, so Even She Seems to Adore Him

Just the sight of Canadian prime minister Justin Trudeau can make me smile, and it turns out I’m far from the only one who finds his charm contagious. When meeting Queen Elizabeth II in Scotland this week, Trudeau cracked a joke that made the Queen laugh, Hello Giggles reports. Same, Liz, same.

Visiting the Queen at her official Scottish residence Holyroodhouse, Trudeau first discussed what he’s been up to Scotland so far. When he told Queen Elizabeth that he had been offered an honorary degree from the University of Edinburgh, he added jokingly, “It probably dismays a number of my former professors to see a doctor now—even an honorary one.”

Don’t be fooled by the Queen’s often stoic appearance. Apparently, she chuckled and said of the degree offer, “Well, that was nice.”

Sure, maybe giving an official visitor a laugh or two is the Queen’s standard protocol, but the fact that Trudeau didn’t let the seriousness of meeting her in a one-on-one setting faze him is adorable. I’m all for more meetings between these two in the future.

Donald Trump Jr. Met With a Russian Lawyer Last Summer & Reince Priebus Is Blaming Democratic Operatives for Arranging It

0

White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has accused Democratic operatives of arranging a previously unknown meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer connected to the Kremlin last summer, Huffington Postreports.

The New York Timespublicized the meeting after receiving word of confidential government records describing it. Although the Times claims that Trump Jr. arranged the meeting that occurred two weeks after his father won the Republican presidential nomination, Priebus said that “the individual that set up the meeting may have been” linked to strategy firm Fusion GPS. Fusion GPS was previously linked to intelligence files hinting at Russians’ possession of potential blackmail of President Donald Trump.

The meeting took place at Manhattan’s Trump Tower in June 2016 and is now the first confirmed private meeting between a Russian official and Trump’s team. Trump Jr. claims that the meeting consisting of him, Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort focused on Russian child adoption policies. Priebus supported that detail in a Fox News Sunday interview, saying, “Talking about issues of foreign policy, issues related to our place in the world, issues important to the American people, like adoption, is something that’s not unusual.”

Citing an article that quoted a spokesman for Trump’s legal team, Priebus believes the initiation of the meeting is more complex than it seems. In his interview, he said, “There’s more questions on the Democrat side than anywhere else.”

In the referred article, spokesman Mark Corallo said, “We have learned from both our own investigation and public reports that the participants in the meeting misrepresented who they were and who they worked for. Specifically, we have learned that the person who sought the meeting is associated with Fusion GPS, a firm which, according to public reports, was retained by Democratic operatives to develop opposition research on the President and which commissioned the phony Steele dossier.”

According to the Times, Corallo also stated that the meeting was a setup, Russian lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya and her translater “misrepresented who they were,” and that Veselnitskaya is connected to Fusion GPS.

Both Manafort and Kushner have been mentioned in reports as having further connections to Russia, and the reveal of this meeting could lead to Trump Jr. being included in related investigations.

16 Gross Things All College Women Do But Won't Admit

0
0

Not everything in college is rainbows and unicorns. Sometimes college can be a little…gross. And college women sometimes do gross things, but we'll never tell anyone. It's always funny when you're talking with your friends, and you realize you both do the same gross things and you have a laugh, knowing you aren't alone. Here are 16 gross things college women do but probably would never admit.

1. Not changing our sheets for a little too long

Honestly, who can keep track of time? You're so tired and busy that it could have been a week ago, but it also could have been two weeks ago. Who knows?

2. Wearing the same outfit two days in a row

If you're going to different classes and you're not seeing the same people, why dirty more clothes?

3. Not washing the dishes

Or reusing the dirty dishes because you don't want to wash 'em.

4. Wearing the same sweatpants for a week straight

Finals week or not, the things are comfy.

5. Using perfume instead of showering

At least you smell good, right?

6. Eating ramen for every meal

Ramen like this would be a luxury, tbh.

7. Not wearing your shower shoes

If you live in a dorm and you don't wear shower shoes, you're basically asking for fungus.

8. Not washing your towel enough

That thing is basically a home for bacteria, so that's gross AF.

9. Not washing your bras enough

This can be especially bad if you have a new nipple piercing, but it also means your bras are sweaty bacteria breeding grounds.

10. Not cleaning the floor

You need to Lysol the floor!

11. Eating off your dirty floor

Five-second rule counts in college, right?

12. Forgetting to change your tampon for a while

I highly recommend switching to the Diva Cup so you can avoid this!!!! #NotAnAd

13. Eating food in bed

Hi, crumbs. It's nice sleeping with you.

14. Lying around in your sweaty workout clothes

All because you're too lazy to get in the shower.

15. Not removing your makeup at night

It's bad for your skin. So bad for your skin.

16. Making a hairball in the shower and leaving it on the wall

Leaving it for your roommates to find later and them being like, WTF?

6 Stylish Ways to Dress for the Rain

0
0

If the first thing you do in the morning is check your phone to determine a weather-appropriate outfit, you’re probably sorely disappointed when greeted with pictures of gray clouds and rain GIFs. Nasty weather can put a major damper on your wardrobe plans, and when you’d really like to wear your new mini skirt and lace-up flats, you will probably want to settle for some cute wellies and a parka. Luckily, rain gear can look just as chic when styled correctly. Here's some outfit inspiration for a wet weather wardrobe that’s both functional and fabulous.

If you’re the type who won’t let a little rain keep you from enjoying the great outdoors, you’ll need the proper attire to keep you comfortable and dry during a day of exploring. A stylish rain coat does double duty as a functional rain repellent while jeggings are comfortable and stretchy for a day of walking. Don’t forget a nylon backpack to keep your belongings safe and dry.

Rain Dancer

The rain can really put a damper on a cute party outfit, so if you’re planning on traveling through wet weather to get to your evening soiree, make sure you keep yourself (and your clothes!) nice and dry. An oversized rain coat in a classic color is a great way to complement an elegant dress, while wedge booties make for sturdy stand-ins until you can switch to strappy heels. A glittery dress is a smart choice to mask any rain stains that may have found their way through during your travels.

Tough Runner

No excuses: The rain doesn’t have to ruin your exercise plans if you’ve got the right attire. For a weather-proof run, pair a light, breathable rain jacket with fitted shorts that will be much more comfortable than sticky, wet leggings. Running shoes with a sturdy sole will protect against puddles and an arm band for your phone is a necessity.

Wet Weather Worker

Rain work

Unfortunately, a downpour is not an adequate excuse for missing work, so when you’re faced with rain on your daily commute, a little advance planning will really pay off. A dress made of neoprene—a fabric often used for swimsuits—is a smart, chic choice for the office. Heeled rain booties are a great investment, as they're stylish enough to wear all day, but super practical for wet walks. A light scarf will keep you warm and can double as a towel for dabbing away rain drops.

When it’s raining cats and dogs, the thought of walking all the way across the quad to get to chem class is dreadful. Staying in bed is one option, but with a few wardrobe basics, you can make it there in comfort and style. Pair skinny jeans with tall rain boots and layer a fitted coat over a tank for a look that transitions from outdoors to indoors in a pinch. Don’t forget the waterproof tote to protect those expensive textbooks.

One of the great things about living in the city is the ability to walk everywhere, but rain can make your daily walk a lot less enjoyable. Prepare yourself with tall, stylish rain boots and a cute hat that is a lot less cumbersome than an umbrella when dealing with public transportation and crowded streets. Also, a great nylon tote is an investment piece that you will use forever.

Instagram Handle: @bloguettes

What does your current job entail? Is there such a thing as a typical day?

LG: There is no such thing as a typical day at Bloguettes! Our company is small and we do so much, so every day presents new opportunities and challenges. My role in the company is Business Development and Marketing. I work closely with our Editorial and Marketing departments on all of the content that our company puts out on a daily basis.
SC: Nope! There’s no such thing as a typical day--every day is so different. We wear many hats in the company, but my main role is Creative Brand Director, so I make sure everything and anything we publish is on-brand and looks visually appealing.  I work very closely with our Design & Photography Departments, and we’re currently in the works of building our Stock That Rocks division of our company!  When I’m not working on those projects, you can find me handling the HR and admin side of the company!

What is the best part of your job?

LG: The best part of my job is that I get to do what I love!! I am not scared of Mondays, because I love what we do here. It’s amazing how we have grown and I’m so excited about what is to come.
SC:  Seeing the company grow with the family (our team) that we have built in the last three years.  I love how collaborative our company is and how we always work as a team.  I also feel very lucky to be able to be creative, yet continuously be challenged every single day!

What was your first entry-level job in your field and how did you get it?

LG: My first job had nothing to do with what I do now! I wanted to be an investment banker (haha) which didn’t work out very well because I didn’t like it. Right after that, I became an entrepreneur so I did not work anywhere else in our field before we started Bloguettes.
SC: My first entry-level job was at a startup tech company helping to build an email service provider.  I found the job opening through LinkedIn and found out that my sorority sister worked there, so I’m sure she helped put a good word in for me to get the position!

What words of wisdom (well-known quotes, an anecdote from your boss) do you find most valuable?

LG: Do what you do because you love it, not because of the money. Money will not be enough to keep you going. Whether you are an entrepreneur or you work for someone else, you have to love what you do!
SC: You often hear the saying “Work smart, not hard,” but I remember long ago a dear mentor/entrepreneur said as a business owner, you have no choice but to work smart AND hard.  As a business owner, it’s nonstop and you have to work hard and always be two steps ahead of the game.

What is one mistake you made along the way and what did you learn from it?

LG: When starting your own business you make a lot of mistakes, but I think one that really stuck with me is not having realistic expectations. Before we started Bloguettes, I thought it would be so easy. How difficult could it be, right? Haha I was completely wrong. I think if I would have gone into it with more realistic expectations, it would have saved me some moments of frustration.
SC: There are multiple mistakes we’ve made along the way and we’ve learned so much from all of them.  I think the one mistake I’d say is not properly budgeting for everything from the very beginning.  I think there’s a lot of areas where we could have saved on expenses!

What has been the most surreal moment of your career thus far?

LG: It’s hard to think of just one, but I think the most surreal moment has been when we were asked to speak at a local conference here in Phoenix. It was one of our first conferences outside of our workshops, and we filled the room! There were over 250 people wanting to hear what he had to say. It was so exciting! Plus, my dad was there!
SC: There have been a lot throughout the course of the last three years, but I’d have to say the biggest moment was when we attended another conference that’s within our industry and we were approached all throughout the conference by people saying they loved Bloguettes.  They would come up to us and say, “OMG! I love Bloguettes. Your webinar has helped me and my business so much!”  It means a lot to us hearing it from our customers.

What do you look for when considering hiring someone?

LG: We always look for people that fit our company culture. We are a lot about attitude, sometimes more than aptitude! Proactivity is also a must. As a small business, we learn every day, so sometimes we decide to do something that we have never done before and we look for people that are willing to take on that challenge and not shy away from it.
SC: More than skills or past experience, we really get a feel for their work ethic, personality, and whether they know how to work well with a team.  We’ve learned a lot in the last three years, and we hire very, very carefully as company culture is something that is so important to us.

What advice would you give to a 20-something with similar aspirations?

LG: Work hard! There is no easy road to success, so be clear about what you want and where you see yourself in the future. If you are not clear about your goals, it will be very hard for you to achieve them.
SC:  Us millennials sometimes can feel entitled to things and want immediate gratification when it comes to jobs, but a piece of advice I’d give to a 20-something would be that there are pros & cons to every job and position.  Do what you love, be grateful for what you have, and work hard for what you want.

What's the one thing that's stood out to you the most in a resume?

LG: It stands out to me when actual results are listed on the resume. It’s great to see the impact that candidates have had at other companies. It also sets expectations of what they can do with us!
SC: There’s nothing I love to see more than a strong objective and a strong cover letter. I love seeing the eagerness of an applicant’s motivation to learn.

Drake Bell Says He Has No Hard Feelings About Not Being Invited to Josh Peck's Wedding

It’s always upsetting when we find out that the actors from our favorite childhood TV shows haven’t stayed in touch, but what’s even worse is seeing them feud so publicly on social media.

Um, what?

PEOPLEreports that Drake said “there are no hard feelings” about being left off the guest list.

Even Queen Elizabeth Seems to Adore Justin Trudeau

Just the sight of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau can make me smile, and it turns out I’m far from the only one who finds his charm contagious. When meeting Queen Elizabeth II in Scotland this week, Trudeau cracked a joke that made the Queen laugh, HelloGiggles reports. Same, Liz, same.

Visiting the Queen at her official Scottish residence Holyroodhouse, Trudeau first discussed what he’s been up to in Scotland so far.

Met With a Russian Lawyer Last Summer to Get Dirt on Hillary Clinton

UPDATE: On Sunday, Donald Trump Jr. said that he met with a Russian lawyer last summer because he was promised to recieve confidential information about Hillary Clinton that would help his dad's campaign, ABC News reports.

According to ABC News, Trump Jr. joined Jared Kushner and then-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort in the June 2016 meeting with Russian attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya, who Trump Jr. said he knew from the 2013 Miss Universe pageant. Trump Jr. said that Veselnitskaya claimed she had information about Russian individuals who were supporting Clinton and funding the Democratic National Convention.

ABC News reports that Trump Jr. said, "Her statements were vague, ambiguous and made no sense. No details or supporting information was provided or even offered. It quickly became clear that she had no meaningful information."

On Saturday, news outlets reported that this meeting had occured and that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss Russian child adoption policies.

ORIGINAL POST: White House Chief of Staff Reince Priebus has accused Democratic operatives of arranging a previously unknown meeting between Donald Trump Jr. and a Russian lawyer connected to the Kremlin last summer, Huffington Postreports.

What to Do When Your Parents Don’t Like Your SO

So you’re dating someone new, and it’s finally gotten serious enough that you’re going to introduce them to your parents. What could go wrong? You’re getting together a group of people that you care for deeply, so how could they not click? Or so you thought. Turns out, your parents don’t like your SO one bit. What do you do? How can you choose between your parents and the person you’re in a relationship with?

There is a large variety of reasons that your parents may dislike or not approve of your SO. Maybe they’d rather you be with someone else, maybe they don’t agree with their politics, maybe they think they’re out of your age range or maybe they even look down on some part of their identity.

These obstacles can be difficult to overcome, especially when there are so many complicated relationships and feelings involved. We reached out to Rhonda Ricardo, author and romance expert, and Lesli Doares, licensed marriage therapist and relationship coach, for their expert takes on how to deal with parents who don’t like your SO, in addition to getting some collegiette words of wisdom.

1. Be as upfront and mature as possible

It’s always easier to completely avoid a tense situation, particularly when your own or others’ feelings are involved. This may seem like a good solution, but it is only a temporary fix, if even a fix at all. You are far better off confronting the issues and emotions that are coming up head on.

Doares says that we have to be willing to approach the situation maturely and “be careful that we’re not reverting to the spoiled 3-year-old or rebellious 14-year-old.” Especially in situations that involve our families, we can become so entangled in a given state that we forget to step back and look at the events from a level-headed standpoint.

This same level of maturity has to be expected from all of the parties involved. U’ilani Lishman, senior at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, says that when her boyfriend and parents experienced a bump in the road, her boyfriend “put in an effort to fix what he had done...he was respectful...When I said I needed space, or my family told him to stay away, he did it.” If your significant other can’t compromise and understand that this kind of situation takes time, it’s going to be impossible to resolve your problems.

2. Hear everyone out

It could very well be the case that your parents are worried about your SO for good reason. Even if they aren’t, it is still necessary that you let them express what they are feeling in an effort to address and remedy the disconnect they feel from your SO. As Ricardo states, issues can arise when a “couple does not take the time to prove that the parents can be comfortable with the SO, so the parents worry (and therefore intrude).” These matters take a little extra work, but giving everyone the time and space they need to work through them will help foster stronger relationships.

Again, actively listening and attempting to empathize with everyone involved is necessary for you, your significant other and your parents. U’ilani adds that “when you really love someone, you need to respect their family and their family’s wishes.” If your SO really wants to be with you, they have to understand that your family is a priority and that their opinions do matter.

According to U’ilani, relationships work best when individuals “respect the other person’s wishes and do [their] best to work towards showing them [they] are a respectful significant other.” This ensures that everyone is on equal footing and can expect fair, thoughtful treatment.

Doares suggests that you “listen as open-mindedly as you can to your parents’ position…[your] parents do know something about somethings.” Take into account that their worries are likely from a place of pure love for you, and that they may even be valid. This is why it’s crucial to take stock of all of the separate emotions at work.

3. Establish boundaries

After you’ve come to an understanding about how exactly your parents and SO feel about each other, it is now time to set up clear boundaries delineating how all of the relations at hand are going to function. Make it clear to those involved that their feelings and wishes are respected, but you are the one who is going to be making your own decisions.

Doares recommends asking yourself if this is “odd behavior on your parents’ part, or [if this is] part of a pattern of the way that they deal with you.” If this is a recurring issue, it is probably time to tell your parents that you are past the point of needing their guidance on every move you make. You are an adult, and you are most definitely going to make mistakes, but it is your life and they are yours to make.

Doares adds that “it’s a sign of maturity to make your own decision about how you want to move forward.” Not only will this uplift your own confidence in yourself, it will show to your parents that you are competent and that they have successfully given you the ability to make decisions wisely.

4. Know that you don’t have to choose

Healthy relationships shouldn’t involve ultimatums or cutting ties with anyone. If your parents and your SO truly care for you, they won’t force you to do either of these things. Once again, it may seem easier to choose sides and avoid confronting or mediating a tough situation, but if you want to sustain the connections with the people in your life, you have to work things out.

This might be the first serious conflict you have faced with your parents as an adult. Your life might even still be funded by your parents, though you aren’t living at home. This nuanced circumstance means that you have to be extra careful when going against your parents' desires. Doares says, “If you can approach your parents as an adult who has their own...who owns their own feelings and desires as opposed to ‘I want your approval,’” you are likely to have more success. Make your feelings, intentions and independence clear.

Ricardo says that a “couple must treat each other’s parents with the same kindnesses.” As long as this is how you’re operating, you can rest assured that everyone will remain happy and that your parents will come to understand what you like so much about your SO, too! This was the case for U’ilani, whose parents came to like her boyfriend so much that “they keep telling [her] not to screw it up!”

5. Remember it’s a process

Like any other problem you’ll face in life, it’s unlikely it will go away overnight. Families and romantic relationships can be extraordinarily contentious, so when you put the two together, things get even stickier. Just remember to maintain your level-headedness, check in with yourself and don’t be afraid to make difficult decisions.

The issues you confront, be them with your family, your relationships or elsewhere in your life, will only make you stronger and wiser. Doares says we need to “understand that it’s a learning process and mistakes are going to get made.” If you tackle these difficulties in healthy, productive ways, they will also get easier and easier to deal with!

Doares also emphasizes that you need to “be gentle with yourself, your significant other and possibly your parents.” Feelings might get hurt, and this is unfortunate, but it’s also a fact of life. As long as no one is overtly attempting to hurt or sabotage anyone else, some hurt feelings are perfectly okay. It will all pay off in the long term, when you and your parents and your significant other have made it over the hurdles and can laugh about them together!

Blac Chyna Speaks Out About Rob Kardashian Attacking Her on Social Media

Seven months after Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's breakup, things have only gotten uglier. Just last week, Rob posted explicit images of Chyna on Instagram and Twitter and ranted about how she cheated on him and only used him for fame. While Rob has a long history of problematic behavior toward women, this latest drama might lead to legal repercussions.

Blac Chyna sat down with Good Morning America on Monday to tell her side of the story

"I was devastated, of course," Chyna said. "I'm like, 'How could somebody, like, post these pictures of me?' This is a person that I trusted. I just felt, yeah, betrayed." She also shot down rumors that she liked some of Rob's explicit posts of her on Instagram, saying that she had his account blocked. When asked why she decided to take legal action, she told ABC News, "The moral of the story is, like, he doesn't respect me, so if you can't respect me, you have to respect the law."

"In California, revenge porn is a crime, a civil wrong and a form of domestic abuse," explained Blac Chyna's lawyer, Lisa Bloom, who's known for representing high-profile clients like Kathy Griffin and Mischa Barton. Bloom confirmed that Blac Chyna will take legal action—a judge just granted her a temporary restraining order against Kardashian on Monday morning.

Bloom also drew an important distinction between the semi-nude photos Chyna has posted on social media in the past and the revenge porn images Rob shared without her consent. "Any explicit photos that she may have chosen to post in the past, that's her choice. This is like saying that a woman can't be raped if she previously chose to have sex with someone. It's her body, it's her choice, each and every time." Posting them without her permission—and violating that choice—is punishable by up to six months in jail.

Rob's social media rampage seems to have been caused by Blac Chyna sending him a video of her kissing another man. When asked why she did that, Chyna told ABC News that after months of him "poking" at her, she thought, "'Maybe if I send this video to him, then he'll just leave me alone.'" Unfortunately, it had the opposite effect, but through this ordeal, Chyna hopes to become an advocate for those who have had similar experiences. "I would like to just say something to all the women out there. You know, you're not the only one that's probably going through something," Chyna said. "So I feel as though if one person speaks up, maybe it, hopefully, it will be a domino effect."

Chyna also told ABC News that the Kardashians haven't reached out to her or commented on the situation. Despite the animosity, she plans to continue sharing custody of eight-month-old Dream with Rob.

If there's one thing we can take away from Rob and Chyna's ongoing battle, it's that slut shaming and revenge porn are never okay.

Peter Dundas, ever heard of him? He's the man famous for creating Beyonce's hot AF Grammy gowns, and has worked with other stars like Emily Ratajkowski, who he recently dressed for Cannes. Get ready to spend your entire savings account, because Dundas's own label just appeared at Couture Fashion Week in Paris and we need it immediately.

His gorgeous designs are available now on Moda Operandi, and while the price tags are currently much too high for a college girl's budget, he'll later be releasing more afforably priced clothing. He really does take care of his girls.

Like most fashion brands, Dundas is not going solo. According to Refinery29, the label will be a collab with his partner in crime and SO, Evangelo Bousis. How can someone be such style goals and relationship goals?! Ugh. Needless to say, we need these new looks to come out rn.
