In the world of the Kardashian-Jenners, there is always one constant: looking extremely glam. Luckily for us, Kylie Jenner has been spreading the beauty love with her incredibly popular Kylie Cosmetics line, where her lip kits, eye shadow palettes and more sell out within minutes of every new launch. Now, her older sister, Kim Kardashian West, is entering the beauty scene with her very own line, KKW Beauty, which will debut on June 21.

Even though Kylie is basically ruling the beauty world right now (she even made it on the Forbes Celebrity 100 list), Kim K's line is bound to be just as popular, if not more so. Her KKW x Kylie Cosmetics collabs have already been major hits, and it'll only get better from here!

Kim's first individual KKW product will be a cream contour kit, of course, and a highlighter kit. Even though she switches up her beauty look all the time, she says one thing always remains consistent: her contour. She announced her new line on her social media channels, and famous makeup artist Mario Dedivanovic posted on his personal account to showcase the "Glam queen" and her new line!

Kim said she is hoping to add one new item to her site each month, so be sure to sign up for the email updates to get all of the updated details!

Miley Cyrus & Jimmy Fallon Wore Disguises & Sang Together in an NYC Subway Station

Miley Cyrus has kept us on our toes with her many surprise lifestyle changes over the years, from beloved Disney Channel darling to unleashed wild child. Miley can now add "NYC subway performer" to her list of identities.

On Wednesday night’s Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Cyrus and Fallon took to an NYC subway station in disguise for an incognito performance of Dolly Parton's "Jolene." After attracting an audience of intrigued New Yorkers, the wigs came off, and the crowd was hyped. All eyes and phones were soon on the talented duo. A surprise duet by Miley and Jimmy on the MTA? I'd be freaking out, too.

Miley finished off the set by singing “Party in the U.S.A.” as the crowd sang along. And it was indeed a one-of-a-kind party.

I'm jealous I missed it, but I'm also happy to see positive gatherings like this, even in the depths of a subway station.

You Have to See Selena Gomez's Blonde Alter Ego in the 'Bad Liar' Video

Selena Gomez has always been the queen of great hair. Her luscious locks are ever a source of envy, whether she's rocking long dark brown waves or short light brown tousles. Now, with the release of her highly-anticipated"Bad Liar" music video, we can finally say she totally rocks voluminous curls as a blonde.

Her new video has received a lot of puzzled responses, but one thing people aren't confused about is how great she looks as a blonde. If she ever wanted to make the major change of saying goodbye to her iconic brown locks, she would definitely pull this look off

The video features her playing four different characters within the same storyline (kind of à la Taylor Swift in "You Belong With Me"), with one of them being the blonde she previewed on her social media. If you haven't watched it yet, see the video below!

9 Totally Valid Questions I Had After Watching Selena Gomez's 'Bad Liar' Video

If you haven't had the chance to watch Selena Gomez's new music video for "Bad Liar," I highly recommend taking three minutes out of your life to play it from start to finish. It's going to leave you with more questions than answers and make you squint like the sun's in your eyes, but it's totally worth it. In order to understand my own confusion, watch the video.

Now, please enjoy my roller coaster of a thought process in GIF form.

1. Why is she riding a bike to school in the middle of nowhere?

I couldn't spot the tumbleweeds that really should've been there.

2. How is her hair staying perfect in the wind?

I don't even want to know how many cans of hairspray were used in the making of that scene.

3. Does no one steal bikes in her world?

Without a lock, that bike would be long gone in today's society.

4. If this girl is working with chemicals, why aren't her lab goggles on?

We all know what happens.

5. Why does Selena play four different people (including a middle-aged man)?

She must've gotten advice from Taylor on this one.

6. Who decided to show us the male teacher itching his crotch?

I think we could all infer that this guy had the hots for a lot of ladies.

7. When did the male teacher and the mom become a thing?

Creepy, much?

8. Is this guy a player or what?

He's definitely at the John Tucker level.

9. Where did she get a photo of her coach?

Me too, girl.

Are Your High School Friends Worth Keeping in College?

0
0

By now, you’ve probably heard all about how different college life is from high school. In many ways, it’s SO much better. Hello, autonomy over your own social calendar! However, it isn’t necessarily the party that it can be made out to be.

You may not realize it while it’s happening, but the whirlwind of college life changes you and helps you grow. Sometimes, this means growing out of past friendships and into new ones. Some friendships just aren’t meant to last after graduation! Here are six important questions to think about in figuring out which friendships you’ve graduated from and which ones are there for the long haul.

1. Are they your true friend or just an acquaintance?

Chances are, not everyone you spent time with in high school was your BFF. Whether that person was your go-to study buddy for math class or your prime source for gossip in gym, you had a relationship with that person on some level. To determine if your friendship is worth keeping, the first thing you should do is think about whether that person is someone you would trust without question, or just a casual acquaintance whose wit made that class you couldn’t stand bearable.

Understanding what category her friendships fell into is what has helped Lexi Hill, a junior at University of South Carolina, prioritize various relationships from high school. By being honest with herself and identifying whether certain friends were casual acquaintances or truly best friends, Lexi was confident that she and her high school squad would stay close when freshman year of college came around.

“I’m sure we’ll continue to be very close even as we graduate and into the future,” Lexi says. “We all became friends in grade school, some of us sooner off than others, but throughout our childhood we were always there for one another during the ups and downs.” According to Lexi, those ups and downs were the moments that truly defined who her close friends were.

While you shouldn’t diss your high school acquaintances, you also shouldn’t worry about working around time differences and a packed college schedule to keep up your relationship with them. Save the effort for the friends who have truly been there for you in the past year. Besides, you’ll have plenty of new acquaintances from your dorm, your major and your extracurricular activities.

2. Does this friendship exist for the right reasons?

Maybe you’re a social butterfly who can strike up a conversation and make friends with anyone in earshot. Maybe you’re an introvert and enjoy having just a few close friends. Regardless of the number of friends you had in high school, the friends who you end up keeping should complement your personality in important ways like communication frequency and mutual respect.

This quality-over-quantity approach is what has helped Jazmyne Jackson, a sophomore at Boston University, keep up each of her friendships from high school as well as those from her freshman year of college, too. “College is the next step before the rest of our lives!” Jazmyne says. “I don’t need superficial, frivolous people around me.” Honestly, we have to agree.

If you’ve realized that you’re ‘off’ more with an old ‘on-again-off-again’ friend, or that someone you were once close with isn’t a reflection of the kind of adult you want to become, an end to that friendship is overdue. While you don’t have to have the exact same goals and priorities, in a healthy friendship you should be able to understand and respect each other.

3. Would you prioritize time with this person?

College is, without a doubt, one of the busiest times in your life. At 19 years old, you can end up working 12-hour days (between classes and assignments, internships, part-time jobs, and maybe Greek life, sports or clubs). It’s exhausting to say the least, but you can probably compare it to an amped-up version of high school if you were on a sports team or a time-consuming student organization like theater or newspaper.

While putting in countless hours on and around your high school campus may have been the bane of your existence, one benefit is not having to go out of your way to hang out with your friends in those activities. Unfortunately, sometimes all of those effortless hangouts disappear abruptly once you graduate high school. According to Alaina Leary, a recent graduate from Westfield State University, sometimes the effort that those friends put in to see you can disappear too.

“Some people are only your friend out of convenience, but once it becomes difficult they no longer care to try,” Alaina says. “I still make time for my friends from high school and college and as a result, our friendships haven’t suffered.” Alaina says that it’s important to not feel trapped in a friendship because you were once close, if the other party isn’t putting forth the effort.

So, if your last few texts to an old ‘friend’ have gone unanswered or they haven’t made any attempt to hang out again before you go your separate ways for the summer, it’s probably best to accept that that they’ve gone in a different direction in their life—just like you’re about to!

4. Can you find ways to maintain communication?

If you have decided to maintain friendships from high school, you might be wondering how you’re going to manage staying in contact with everyone while you’re away at school. While it may be difficult to accommodate the schedules of everyone in your friend group, you’ll have plenty of ways to do so once you’ve worked out the details.

Technology like group chats, Skype, Snapchat, FaceTime, iMessage and a good old fashioned phone call now and then make it easier than ever to stay up to the minute on everything going on with your friends, even if they’re far away!

“It was really nice to have a friend from home to talk about stuff at school with,” says Sophia Walker, a junior at Bowdoin College, who stayed close with her best friend from high school even though they now go to different colleges. “She was unbiased, so I could tell her everything without worrying about anyone judging me, and talking about it all helped me process my first year”

While she and her bestie from home were initially texting constantly through her freshman year, Sophia says that they started talking more sporadically during her sophomore year but stayed close regardless.

You don’t have to always be texting back and forth to assure your long-distance friends that you’re thinking of them. Sometimes a #tbt post on Instagram or a cheeky Snapchat can go a long way in recounting those memories that made your high school years together the best.

5. Will your friendship survive time and distance?

Sometimes, less is actually more when it comes to staying in contact! Make sure to be conscious of how much time you’re spending catching up with your squad from home, and if your constant contact means that you’re passing up opportunities to make new relationships on campus.

Kayla Düngee, a sophomore at Kennesaw State University, explained that giving each other some space was actually the best thing that she and her best friend from home did for their long distance friendship. By setting aside time once a week to FaceTime, they’ve dedicated time to just catching up with each other while also supporting each other’s growing independence while at school.

“I want her to have her own friends and meet new people—not to feel like I am holding her back.” Kayla also says that being mindful of the fact that your friends now have their own lives too is especially important. “Naturally they are going to fall into their own rhythm and routine, and you can’t make them feel bad for doing so. Don’t feel bad when they don’t text or call back in a timely manner.”

While it may seem scary to only talk once a week or so with someone you’re used to spending a few hours a day with, you can rest assured that the distance will disappear when you reunite and you’ll be able to pick up right where you left off!

6. Does your friendship with this person make you happy?

The most important question here comes down to the simplest one: does your friendship with this person make you happy? Maria Cristina, a graduate from the University of Puerto Rico, advises you to prioritize the people who bring positivity to your life and who push you to become a better version of yourself. After all, that’s what growing up is all about, right?

All friendships cycle through their ups and downs naturally. It’s totally normal to even lose contact for a couple of months at a time. The friends that are worth keeping in your life are the ones that will empower you and support you ––they’re the ones that will help you become the adult you want to be, and they’re the ones that will push you to try harder even when you don’t feel like it. By being mindful of those qualities in your friends from high school, college and beyond, you’re setting yourself for major success in friendship and in life!

Chrissy Teigen Isn't Afraid to Talk About Her Butthole & Doggy-Style Sex

When it comes to mastering the art of being a relatable celebrity, Chrissy Teigen is our girl. She’s fearless when it comes to being herself. Teigen proudly voices her opinions on Twitter, shutting down haters in oh-so-clever ways, and has recently divulged information about her own butthole. Yup, you read that correctly.

In an interview with Marie Claire for their July issue, Teigen opened up about doggy-style sex with her husband, John Legend. "John and I had a double date, and we were joking around, and I go, 'John's never seen my butthole,'” Teigen said. “And John says, 'Are you kidding? Every time anyone does anything doggy style, you see a butthole. I see it every time.' I was like, 'We are never doing it doggy style again.'"

A post shared by Marie Claire (@marieclairemag) on

Candid is an understatement when it comes to this interview. Sex shouldn't be a taboo topic, so why should buttholes be?

Although doggy style might not be for everyone, Teigen’s self-deprecating honesty will never get old. Cheers to keeping it real!

Trump Says Reports He May Have Obstructed Justice Are 'Phony'

President Donald Trump released a few predictably inflammatory tweets Thursday morning regarding the ongoing investigation of his presidential campaign’s potential collusion with Russia.

According to The Washington Post, the investigation, which was first opened last year, is now looking into whether Trump tried to obstruct justice. The reason for this shift in the investigation? Trump's firing of FBI Director James Comey in May.

Comey gave some impossible-to-ignore testimony in front of the Senate Intelligence Committee last week, saying, “It’s my judgment that I was fired because of the Russia investigation...I was fired, in some way, to change—or the endeavor was to change the way the Russia investigation was being conducted.” Trump has maintained that his firing of Comey was because of the way the former FBI director handled the Hillary Clinton email scandal.

Trump lashed out on Twitter after the news broke that he was a specific feature of the special council’s investigation, according to Reuters.

Obstruction of justice involves “impeding or otherwise obstructing an official proceeding or the due administration of justice with an improper motive,” according to The Washington Post. Basically, it’s any unlawful messing around with evidence, witnesses or anything involved in a crime while an investigation or legal inquiry into that crime is taking place. One of the most obvious moments of possible obstruction, for example, was when Trump allegedly said he "hoped" Comey would drop the investigation into the administration's former national security adviser, Michael Flynn.

This story is complicated, but hopefully the parties responsible for making sure we don't mess with Russia figure out what really happened here.

As if we needed more reasons to spend our hard-earned $$$ at Starbucks, the coffee giant just came out with its latest creation: Sangria Red Tea, according to Delish.

시워~언하다 New fav summer drink Starbucks Sangria Red Tea The best part is eating all the fruit #상그리아레드티

A post shared by Kieun Choi (최기은) (@kieunchoi) on

Starbucks has remained mum about the contents of its latest menu addition, but from what we can tell it’s just a whole lot of fruity goodness, fading from bright red at the top to orangey-yellow at the bottom—aka it looks 100 percent AMAZING on Instagram.

There is another drink that features sangria flavor on Starbucks’s menu, the Teavana Shaken Berry Sangria Herbal Tea. Its ingredients include “Freshly brewed Teavana® Iced Passion Tango™ Tea and apple juice are hand shaken with a medley of juicy berry flavors then accented with real blackberries and orange slices," according to Starbucks. If you’re into the sound of that at all, you might be interested in making a trip to South Korea and/or getting this stuff airlifted to wherever you’re located. Yup, sorry to break it to you—this gorgeous concoction is only available in South Korea for now.

From the Midnight Mocha to the Dragon and Unicorn Frappuccinos, Starbucks is really pulling out all the stops, and we’re not mad. Here’s hoping Sangria Red Tea makes its way stateside soon. Cheers!

Sasha Obama's First Name Isn't Actually Sasha & People Are Struggling to Deal

After eight years, we may have thought we knew everything about the Obama family. Not so: the internet is extremely shook after finding out that Sasha Obama’s legal first name isn’t Sasha.

Sasha is actually just a nickname, with Natasha being the former first daughter’s real name, according to Mashable.

But Hello Giggles reports this isn’t technically the first time word has gotten out about Sasha’s real first name. When Sasha got a summer job on Martha’s Vineyard in 2016, she reportedly went by Natasha while working.

So why are we hearing about it again now? It’s all thanks to an innocent tweet shared by writer Ashley Ford that quickly went viral.

A year later, the rest of the internet finally caught up on this bit of trivia and is overwhelmed, to say the least.

Some users were already in the know and were less than impressed by their peers lack of knowledge.

One user even had a theory that the nickname Sasha was actually inspired by Beyonce’s alter ego, Sasha Fierce.

Whatever the case, the internet needed some Obama news to freak out over after another long week of updates from the current White House. Thanks, Natasha!

An Uber Board Member Resigned After Making an Incredibly Sexist Comment

0
0

Uber board member David Bonderman resigned Wednesday after making a sexist comment, according toThe New York Times. His resignation raises even more questions about sexism at the ride-sharing company.

The remarks under scrutiny were made at an all-team staff meeting to discuss company culture—you know, the PERFECT place to make a sexist comment when the company is under fire for sexism. Arianna Huffington, girlboss and the first female Uber board member, was discussing how, statistically, once one woman joins a board more are likely to follow. That was the case at Uber, where Wan Ling Martello, a Nestle executive, became the second female board member after Huffington. Through a recording obtained and released by Yahoo, the former board member could be heard saying, “Actually, what it shows is that it’s much more likely to be more talking.” (Because women talk too much, get it? *eye roll*)

Bonderman’s comments really couldn't have come at a worse time for the ride sharing app. According to Quartz, female Uber employees have found themselves subjected to awful sexism, with one woman publishing a blog post about her experience that soon went viral. After her report, Uber CEO Travis Kalanick called for an investigation into the matter, conducted by former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, and a change in culture. At the meeting where Bonderman made the comment, executives were discussing Holder's report. Bonderman’s comments exemplify the misogynistic “boys’ club” image Uber has been trying to shed.

Despite the comment, Bonderman says he does not want his comments to affect the view of the company. In a statement, Bonderman apologized to Huffington and admonished himself, saying, "I directed a comment to my colleague and friend Arianna Huffington that was careless, inappropriate, and inexcusable.” The statement continues, “Uber is examining the issues with its culture, making significant changes and working to right what has been done wrong, which is extremely important for the future of the company. I do not want my comments to create distraction as Uber works to build a culture of which we can be proud."

Well. It looks like it's not women who need to talk less, huh?

The Jury Is Deadlocked in Bill Cosby's Sexual Assault Trial

0

Bill Cosby's victims have finally gotten their day in court through the testimony of one of his accusers, Andrea Constand—but after nearly four days of deliberation, the jury still hasn't been able to decide whether or not the 79-year-old TV star is guilty.

Constand is a former Temple University basketball program employee and the only woman whose accusations have led to criminal charges against Cosby, according to CNN

Constand testified that one night in 2004, at Cosby's home near Philadelphia, Cosby gave her pills that caused her to feel dizzy and "frozen," CNN reports. In her testimony, she said that she would have stopped Cosby if she were able to, but the pills kept her from moving, according to The Chicago Tribune.

Jurors heard Cosby's testimony from 2005, in which the comedian said that Constand did not say anything as he touched her body that night in 2004, according to the Tribune.

The Tribune reported that these allegations were settled back in 2005, but the case was recently reopened.

According to CNN, Constand has charged Cosby of "assaulting [her] without her consent, assaulting her when she was unconscious and assaulting her using drugs to substantially impair her ability to consent."

If convicted, Cosby could potentially spend the rest of his life in prison.

Thursday morning, jurors told the judge that the case has reached a deadlock—and after more than 30 hours of deliberation, there is still no verdict, according to NPR.

The judge issued what is called an Allen or Spencer Charge, which basically means the jury has to go back, reexamine their opinions and deliberate further. If the jury is never able to reach a consensus,  the judge will have to declare a mistrial.

How to Enjoy Your Summer if You’re Staying on Campus

0
0

Summer is a time of magic, hope, and endless possibilities. It’s not for apprehensions about the future or regret about the past, but instead, what you make of the pure and simple present. But this year, rather than tanning by the beach, you’re stuck on campus. Unless you’re lucky enough to live near the coast, the closest thing to a beach near you is a parched expanse of grass. Thankfully, there’s a lot more to summer than that. Whether you’re on a quarter or semester system, here’s how to change your perspective and actually enjoy your summer on campus.

1. Get out and socialize

Socializing helps you to expand your own worldview, appreciating and taking advantage of your college’s diversity. Leave your laptop behind for the evening, get out, and start talking to people! It’s as easy as it sounds, and the benefits - increased self-confidence and genuine happiness - are undeniable.

Cydney Rhymes, a junior at Georgia State University, has spent all her summer terms on campus. She gives you advice on what to do between your class times. “The classes are longer, but they are most likely earlier! That means that the rest of your day is open for a part-time job or extra activities like concerts, fairs, conferences and travel.”

Check out your school’s social activities center for events ranging from late-night movie screenings to outings to the city nearest your school. Katie Kochanny, an upcoming senior at Michigan State University, notes that the city around your campus can be quite different during the summer. “I love the certain stillness about summer,” she says. “The lines are short and the traffic is nonexistent! It's quiet, peaceful, and I get to see it in an entirely different way." Even playing frisbee with your friends can transform into something magical in the summer haze.

Finding a new group of friends is key, especially if most of your friends have gone back home for the summer. While this may seem initially daunting, expanding your friendship circle is never a bad idea!

2. Find a summer job off-campus!

While the majority of your classmates are back home, Starbucks and Chipotle are still up and running—and in desperate need of employees. Summer jobs and internships are a great way to make new friends and balance out your hopefully not-too-stressful course load.

Samantha Burke, a 2016 graduate from Siena College, took a genetics course at Georgia Tech the summer before her junior year—and still managed to make a few extra bucks on the side. “I got my first job at Walmart, and was working full-time hours,” she said. “I ended up setting it up so that I had Tuesdays and Wednesdays off and Thursdays I closed, because all of our exams were on Thursdays so that way I had the two days before to study. I would have to go to class in my uniform, though.” While working full-time certainly isn’t everyone’s go-to, it certainly is something to strive towards!

After you’ve updated your CV (no, don’t include your hobbies on there!), check out your school’s job board or career fair. Once you’ve applied to a few neat locales, patience is key. Lucky for you, you’ve chosen to...

3. Take interesting courses

Spending a summer term on campus is a great way to both get ahead in your major track and fulfill some of those graduation requirements. But remember, it is summer! When it’s 80 degrees outside and your friends are playing frisbee on the lawn, do you really want to be studying for orgo finals? (Unless you love (the death trap that is) orgo, of course.)

Summer on-campus classes aren’t just for college students. Your school might also be offering pre-college programs to high schoolers – their courses range from astronomy to nanotechnology to humanitarian intervention. Take their lead and dive headfirst into your intellectual curiosities. If you have time, you can even work on a minor! Many colleges offer unique classes only in the summer. Always wanted to learn about World Film History or Anthropology? Now’s your chance!

If the class you’ve been dying to take isn’t available over the summer, here’s a great alternative: take online courses! Katie has taken online courses in Economics, and is only required to go on campus to take her exams.

4. Remember your friends and family

It’s important to make time for the people that matter most to you. Whether you’re feeling down in the dumps or up in the clouds, it’s amazing to have someone to share your emotions with.

Make sure to stay in contact with your friends! Now that you’re not seeing your them every day, it might be a bit more of a struggle to maintain your relationships, but it’s definitely worth it. Whether it be via phone dates or scheduled meet-ups, finding a routine and sticking with it is key.

Your family is equally important, especially since it’s often true that college students only visit their family during breaks. Video chats (e.g. Skype, Google Hangouts) and weekly phone calls can allow you to stay in contact with your family – not just your parents, but also your siblings, your grandparents, and your cousins every now and then – even when your schedule’s crunched for time.

5. Put your studies first

For once, you might actually be able to find a seat in the library! Unfortunately, even though there’s less competition for studying space, it doesn’t mean that the academic competition has decreased one bit. Moreover, as the hard-working student that you are, you definitely don’t want your GPA to slip. Finding a designated place to study that’s outside your dorm can be a great help in this venture! Taking interesting classes makes this process a lot easier.

And why should you blow your studies off during the summer anyway? This might be the one time of the year where your professor’s office hours aren’t jam-packed. At the University of Florida, where two summer semesters are mandatory, Sydney Brodie, a 2015 graduate, notes that you’ll have easier access to campus resources over the summer. “When you're at a big school, it's nice to have fewer students on campus,” she says. “You're able to take advantage of resources that might be harder to get when there's 50,000+ students around.”

6. Prioritize your health

Even if you’re a fellow NARP, a healthy lifestyle should still be near the top of your list of priorities. Good nutrition is an essential part (and the occasional ice cream cone can be, too). Don’t stick to boring old ramen and breakfast cereals. Take advantage of the season’s freshest produce–watermelon, strawberries, and oranges are among the top of my grocery list! You can even find a place that serves interesting food, and eat there once a week. Alternatively, learn a lifelong skill: how to cook easy meals in your dorm or apartment’s kitchen in less than 20 minutes.

If your typical exercise routine is working out in the gym, feel free to continue it during the summer! Samantha notes that she found an alternative to the gym during her campus on summer. “I’m not a largely active person, but I would take walks and runs through the neighborhood when it wasn’t excruciatingly hot,” she says.

Keep in mind that you don’t have to do this alone. Getting active can be as simple as playing frisbee with your squad or setting up a mock beach volleyball game on the quad. If you’re up for the challenge, many recreational and club sports team–such as soccer, water polo, and basketball –have a summer season. Your campus gym might even have special summer activities planned!

It’s the little things that’ll help you break up the boredom of a summer term on campus. And after all, as we know too well, summer time doesn’t last forever. Before you know it, it’ll be fall – and you’ll be back with your friends (and books)!

However, “it is flocked with people and a lot of local traffic due to the tourists.” Visit the stunning grounds at Kensington Palace“but the tour of the palace is so not worth the money.” Kew Gardensis also skippable. Save some money and guide yourself at The Tower of London. Although it can be “a cool thing to see, you do have to pay to get in and then once you are in you have to pay for a tour guide to get any more real information.”

Where can I get souvenirs?

Souvenirs can be found “anywhere in Westminster.” For “super cute and original souvenir ideas” check out “We Built This City in Carnaby." In Piccadilly Circus, “there is a three-floor souvenir shop calledCool Britannia that literally has everything souvenir-related that you will ever need.” The Buckingham Palace Gift Shop, Bourough and Camden, and Oxford St are also good places to look for souvenirs. It is inside of a massive casino, and is a really nice place to get dinner with your parents.”

Any great restaurant recommendations?

Nando's is a good “go-to for going out for dinner, as well asDinerama in Shoreditch which was a bunch of food stands with all different things! Try the donuts! AlsoGBKis amazing, burgers are so good, plus they have gluten-free ones!” Hummus lovers need to check out Yalla Yalla in Soho. The best pizza in London is at Homeslice in the Seven Dials—“it's so worth the price.” Ciao Bella is another Italian place in Bloomsbury and “it's super authentic and really fun. There's live music and it’s awesome.” If you’re looking to splurge, sketch is worth going to. It's a very extravagant and fancy restaurant where all the celebs go when they're in London and it is truly worth it. Every room in the place is decorated a certain way and it always changes.” Cereal Killer café, The Breakfast Club, andThe Diner are all restaurants worth trying. If you love Spanish food, look no further than the “Spanish restaurants near Goodge Street.”

Where can I get authentic British food?

Looking for authentic British dishes? “Camden Market has all sorts of food, and they have authentic fish & chips stands!” Notting Hill is another go-to place for “anything British. It was Julia Roberts's favorite place while filming the movie [Notting Hill]!” Borough Market also has a wide variety of food.” If you want a drink, “go to any pub with tons of people standing outside. It may be crowded but you will get a good pint of something...and get any dish with meat and potatoes.” For those who love dark, try a Guinness and “Strongbow for those who like sweet and IPA for the rest of you.” Insider tip: “the closer to Trafalgar Square the more touristy the pubs get.” The Horniman by Hay's Gallery is worth visiting.

Where should I go for an authentic night on the town?

Check out karaoke Thursdays atthe Walkabout Temple— “a lot of locals were there! Great pregame spot with their happy hour. AlsoCamden Pub Crawl is a mix of American and Brits!”

Shoreditch is “the young person borough of London. On Thursdays they have tons of art galleries open and there are clubs on every street corner.” During the summer, there is a festival running at the South Bank “with food stalls, beer and fair rides. You drink a little bit, have a merry ride back on the tube (if it's not too late) and see what else you can find.” Pop Brixton is “a gem with great gyoza and it's always exciting. Look on their websites and Facebook pages to see what events are coming up!” For an exciting nightclub, go to Chelsea; “the Brits go hard so make sure you are wearing heels but bring comfortable shoes in your bag!”

KOKO,Zoo Bar,Slug,Dirti Martini,Ministry of Sound, South Kensington and The Book Club are all places worth spending a night out at. TGI Fridays is “a thing in London among the younger crowd. With great (and massive) drinks at affordable prices and made-to-share appetizers, TGI Fridays is a fun and relaxed environment to have dinner with friends in.”

Ruby Blue in Leicester Square,1 Big Night Out Pub Crawl, Zoo Bar,Grace Bar are all worth visiting. To experience one of London's most historic clubs, check out The Electric Ballroom. “It is a massive space with two very different experiences. Downstairs, they play mostly alternative music: Arctic Monkeys, The 1975, Mumford and Sons etc., while upstairs they play mostly Top 40 hits. Drinks get expensive, but the cover is cheap and so worth it.” If you want an authentic London night out, a pub crawl may be your best bet like one in Soho because you can walk “around to places that look cool.” “There are tons of great pubs and bars.” If you like clubbing, try Mahiki,Heaven on Monday nights andCirque Le Soir—“it's so easy to find a promoter on social media and get on a list!” Tiger Tiger in Piccadilly Circus is “an extremely popular London club that draws a big student crowd. With club nights offered to UK students, prices are manageable and it's definitely worth going to at least once.”

Where do Americans go out?

An American favorite is O'Neill's“because there is no cover. There is one in Chinatown and another in Carnaby.” A bar called Be At One“has amazing student discounts.” For karaoke nights, check out Walkabout, where you’ll “get to hang out with the Americans” and see “tons of Americans belting out 'Don't Stop Believing.’” Camden Pub Crawl is “mostly American study abroad students or travelers.”

What are good grab-and-go spots?

For convenience, Pret A Manger“is on every corner and really isn't that bad, same goes for Leon andNerro. Try to find small local places.” For amazing salads, go to Pure— “it’s so delicious.” Coffee lovers rejoice! Waitrose“allows you to get a free coffee everyday if you become a member (which is free).” Itsu“is terrible if you consider it Japanese, but when you just look at it as food, it's quite good to pick up and eat in a park.” Local market chains like Sainsbury's andTesco“have three pound meals that include a meal, a snack and a drink.”

If you’re “near the Richmond campus there is a 24-hour McDonalds on Kensington High Street that hits the spot.” For all your chicken cravings, go to Nando's. It's a chicken-based restaurant that is life. You need to try peri-peri chips.” “Boots Pharmacy is also great for grab-and-go food like sandwiches and small snacks.” Bill’s and Caffè Nerro are also good spots.

What are must-eat and must-drink items in London?

Fish & chips are a staple London dish that you must try. For drinks, “all of their American brand soda tastes sweeter. Caffè Nerro coffee shop has the best vanilla lattes you'll ever have.” Since London is an international city with tons of diverse cuisines, “try Indian curry, try German schnitzel, try Japanese sushi (the authentic kind), just be open to anything.” The crafty beers are also worth trying, like Pimms, which can't be found in America—“it's the quintessential British drink. Drink all the cider, all different types. We don't realize how much better than beer it is. Buy a fancy wine from Sainsbury's and casually drink it at home. Don't go overboard though.” London bars also “have a ton of different ciders that are so great.” Some other must-try foods are “Yorkshire pudding and steak and ale pie,” tea anddigestives, which are “a form of cookie.” “Order some bangers and mash and feel like a real Englishwoman.” You can see the difference in London’s McDonald's—“it's against the law to use preservatives so you can really taste the difference.”

I want to make the most of my time in London. What should I do?

Although it can come with a costly price tag, “seeing aPremier League game is a unique experience you can't get anywhere else. Tickets are mainly for season ticket holders, but there are plenty of reliable resale websites that many people sell game tickets on.” “Go to the Food Markets (Bourough and Camden)! It's the best place to meet locals and taste the best food in the world.” “Try to spot the Queen” and head on over to Buckingham Palace to see “the changing of the guards at least once.” “Even though it’s all Americans, the Camden Pub Crawl is one of the most fun things you’ll ever do.” Trivia night at a local pub is also worth checking out. For nature lovers, “go toHampstead Heath and go on some hikes” or “go boating in Hyde Park.” For a British experience, “get tea at a fancy place” such as sketch. If you’re in London during the fall semester, “definitely check out theWinter Wonderland festival in Hyde Park! They transformed the park into a winter carnival and it was amazing.” “Check out a play on the West End.” At the end of they day, “just be open to meeting new people wherever you are, they are super friendly and really cool!”

Any great day trips in the area?

For a beach getaway, check out “Brighton! It's a beach town south of London and it’s just a quick hour train ride away.” Marvel at the power at Stonehenge. There are “lots of great small cities in the UK” like Bath, Castle Combe, Brighton Beach, and Stongehenge. If you want to explore castles, go up North. Hampton Court Palaceis a palace worth visiting. For a sporty excursion, head to “Manchester to see a Manchester City soccer/football game!” Windsor, Oxford and Cambridge are all trips worth taking.

How will my phone work?!

You can get “a new SIM card with everything—texting, calls and data. If your carrier is nice and lets you have data abroad, just do that. Don't get a whole new phone. Just have it unlocked and get a pay-as-you-go SIM.” Getting a new SIM card with an English number can be “way cheaper than having to get international minutes.” If you bring an iPhone, “make sure it's unlocked before you arrive, and store your original SIM card in a safe place. Then once you get to London, ordergiffgaff. You get a lot of data and unlimited texting for very cheap.” The companyThree lets “you pay a certain number of pounds for unlimited data and a certain amount of calling and texting minutes per month. You don't need to open an account or anything and it had reliable service.”

Even if you don’t have a phone, no fear because you will be “able to find wifi in a lot of places” and can use messaging apps like iMessage with wifi. For instance, if you have an iPhone, it’s easy to “communicate to home as well as with your study abroad friends via iMessage” which does not use call or texting minutes. Make sure to “take care of your phone! Not even London is safe from pickpocketers.”

What do I absolutely need to pack?

With the rainy weather, “do not forget a raincoat” and an umbrella, but leave the boots at home because “no one wears rainboots.” Since the weather changes very often, bring “a wide variety of jackets to make sure you have a diverse range of things to wear. Layers are important too”, and warm socks. Clothing wise, also pack clothes hangers and “a fancy dress because you never know where you will go.” Also bring “good shoes, a travel journal, converters for all of the different countries. DON'T pack hair straighteners, blow dryers, curling irons—buy them there even if they're dual voltage.” For food needs, pack food seasoning and hot sauce because “if you're a fan of Mexican or spicy food then life will be hell. Also any American snacks you like such as hot Cheetos. American things are EXPENSIVE there, and rare, at that!” In case you do a lot of shopping, “pack a duffel in your luggage. That way, you have a bag ready to put all your souvenirs when coming back.” “You’ll need a portable charger.” “Bring your preferred makeup”, because it might be hard to find your favorites there. Some other insider tips: “get an Oyster card (public transportation), learn how to cook for yourself, and don't bring flashy clothes—it's not the 'London' style.”

Where should people stay when they visit me?

Airbnb is a great way to go, because “everything is way more expensive in the UK, especially London. So if you can, find a family member or friend that your parents can stay with, otherwise they will break the bank.” If you’re looking to stay in a great location, check out The Bloomsbury.

Marriott in South Kensington andGrosvenor House are great for parents.” For friends, “there is a student hostel by Kings Cross.” “If they want a British experience, your parents should stay at a bed and breakfast.” Try not to stay near Big Ben—”the prices are way too expensive.”

Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire in Leicester Square is centrally located and really great for when parents visit. It is close to Piccadilly Circus, Buckingham Palace and South Bank (where the Eye is) and is spacious, comfortable and near many restaurants.”

Any tips on staying safe?

“It's very safe, but don't walk alone at night especially in Camden or the City.” “Try to not take the tube or bus home alone after 10 pm, try not to look lost, download theCity Mapper app.” Always try to be aware of your surroundings, because “pickpocketers are very talented so just keep your purse and bags closed and in front of you. Also when walking try not to be looking down at your phone.” “Use cross-body bags only and look confident.” “It's not a scary place but it's always good to have a buddy.” “Walk in groups, protect your phone, lock all doors and windows when you're gone, and don't get run over because cars have the right of way.”

Keep in mind that that “their alcohol content is far different” so try not to “drink too much.”

As long as you are aware, “you’ll be fine.”

Any tips on the abroad programs?

Regent's University London (RACL)“has good on-campus housing and a dining hall. It’s in Regent's Park which is amazing and just a five minute walk from Baker Street Station.” If you’re studying there, “take George Yeats for English.” There is also “a great library on campus at RACL”, so you don’t have “to go far to find a place to study.” Florida State University “takes pride in its program for a reason. The trips are extensive, the location is amazing, and the atmosphere of living in a 17th century townhouse makes you truly feel integrated in the city. You can study during any season!” “Classes at NYU London only meet once a week for three hours each” because they “wants every person to have time to actually explore the city” while studying abroad, giving you more control over your schedule. “Take art history with Margo if you study through USAC AtImperial College! She is absolutely brilliant and you learn so much!”

At Arcadia University, staying in the Marylebone or Alexander Fleming dorms is recommended. “Marylebone dorms are smaller but nicer, and Fleming dorms are bigger but a little older. Marylebone is located in a more central/businessy area, and Fleming is in Shoreditch, which is a hip, young area.” The American Institute of Foreign Study has “so much to do for the American students. They make sure you get to experience local culture and had so much for us to do. AIFS also has American advisors on campus and the ones in London were incredible and so helpful.” Make sure to “do the walking tours and activities your program sets up in the first few days, they are a great way to get familiar with the local area and meet other people in your program.” Go on as “many group excursions as possible with the group, even if it costs money. This is a once-in-a-lifetime experience, so the money you're spending is worth it.”

Try to “avoid Marketing, the professors are not that great. DEFINITELY take World Religions, it is the coolest class you will ever take at Regent’s University London.” “Being in a program like UC Center London that hooks you up with Oyster cards would be beneficial because otherwise it's expensive to get around! Regarding the program, “make sure to submit any maintenances ASAP because they take a while. Also, it took me a while to figure out how to use the washer because it's so different.”

Karrueche Tran Was Just Granted a Five-Year Restraining Order Against Chris Brown

Karrueche Tran can officially breathe a sign of relief. On Thursday, a judge in a Santa Monica court granted the 29-year-old actress and model a five-year restraining order against Chris Brown.

According to E! News, Tran was present for the hearing. Brown, on the other hand, was not. Two voicemails Brown previously left Tran were reportedly played at the hearing, in which the singer can be heard cursing at, threatening, and making offensive remarks to Tran about gifts he had given her that he wanted back. Text messages were also submitted as evidence. In the disturbing text messages, Brown claimed he would "beat the shit" out of Tran, make her hate him "even more" if they were in the same place in pubilc, and told her he "won't hold back so stay in your place." Tran told the judge that she "didn't put it past" Brown to hurt her again.

Thursday's decision follows allegations Tran made against Brown back in February. Tran wrote in court documents that Brown had "threatened to kill me to others, threatened me via text messages and threatened to harass my friends." At that time, she was granted a temporary restraining order against the singer.

E! News reports Brown took to social media shortly after the filing. In the since-deleted post, he told his followers not to listen to "all this bulls--t."

We wish Tran nothing but a safe and happy future.

It's not everyday that a brand attempts to boycott itself, but apparently that's exactly what Dolce & Gabbana is doing these days.

After brand co-founder Stefan Gabbana took to Instagram to praise first lady Melania Trump's outfits during her recent trip overseas, critics quickly commented on the post #boycottdolcegabbana, PopSugar reports.

20 Things Every Girl Needs to Do in Her 20s

0
0

We’ve all read these kinds of lists before. They’re usually made up of extremely cheesy things you simply must do while you’re still considerably young. But this list is different. Why? Because we’ve compiled things you actually need to do while you’re still in your 20s. Don’t thank us; it was really no bother at all.

1. Find your Central Perk.

Take this literally or in the metaphorical way it was intended. You need a group of friends that will surround you in good times and bad. Think Dawson’s Creek when the unbearable youth drama would occasionally give way to touching moments of pure friendship. Or for a less complicated example, Friends ALWAYS.

2.  Be funny. Even if you’re not.

Sadly, some people just don’t have a funny bone in their body. But that doesn’t mean you can’t try. Surely someone will pity you and laugh at your miserable excuse for comedy.

3. Put down your electronics.

Your phone, your laptop, your TV—if you can lift it! Put those things down and pay attention to what’s in front of you. We’re betting you can’t even remember what a bird’s sweet melodies sound like anymore. Although we’re having trouble recalling this ourselves, we happen to think it’s nothing like the chirp of an incoming text.

4. Learn how to be alone.

Whether that means you’re comfortable with the single life or you don’t envision Psycho every time you take a shower, aloneness doesn’t dictate loneliness. Tip: have a harpoon and an online dating profile at the ready just in case.

5. Save some money. Spend some, too.

It’s okay to #treatyoself, but with great power a real job comes great responsibility. Become acquainted with a savings account, and know that sometimes keeping your InStyle subscription is an emergency purchase.

6. Do a lot of things for the first time.

This is one of the best parts of being young. If you’ve never put sour cream on your Chipotle before, go for it! The sky is the limit.

7. Tell people how you feel.

When did it become awkward for people to share their true feelings with others? We want to be able to tell our best friends we love them without getting pesky side-glares from our fellow humans. Maybe we’ll send a card instead.

8. Acquire mentors beyond those in your Netflix queue.

Sure, there’s a bounty of career and life goals we acquired from worshiping Blair Waldorf. But it would be a heck of a lot cooler if you tracked down Leighton Meester and forced her to be your mentor IRL.

9. Travel. Now.

Or you could also travel later. There’s not a cutoff age for travelling—that we know of. So go now, go in a few years. It’s really up to you.

10. Kick butt at the job that makes you happy…

… even if it doesn’t allow for frequent trips to Kate Spade. Happiness > money, EVERY TIME. Basically, you should be like a post-Destiny’s Child Beyoncé if you catch our drift.

11. Enjoy your twenty-something bod.

You won’t always feel or look like that, you know? Partake in a faddish exercise program, get the cotton candy at concerts and wear that shirt that exposes a risqué yet tasteful sliver of skin.

12. Listen to the world outside of yourself.

You can be somewhat selfish in your 20s, but don’t ignore that great big world out there. Jon Stewart may have left The Daily Show, but that’s no excuse for you to tune out what really matters. And Saturday Night Live lives on, so you’re totally covered on that whole current events thing.

13. Don’t pull a Britney.

If you find yourself with an umbrella and a razor in your hand, call a friend. Because being a hot mess is so 2007.

14. Realize how resilient you are.

Dark times are a part of life. But you’ll find th-th-th-that that that don’t kill you can only make you stronger. Yes, that was an explicit Kanye reference, and we won’t apologize for it.

15. Talk to a stranger.

Not the kind that offers you candy as he creeps by in a beat-up white van. We’re talking little old ladies behind you in the checkout line and friends of friends who may one day be your friends too.

16. Annihilate your comfort zone.

Take risks. Be brave. Other stereotypical high school classroom poster sayings that totally apply here.

17. Be kind and expect nothing in return.

Do nice stuff for the sake of making someone else smile. Even if it’s your roommate and she already promised you could borrow her LBD Saturday night.

18. Fall in love. Fall out of love. Repeat.

Try it. And then try it again. If there’s one thing we’ve learned from The Bachelorette, sometimes your future husband is not in this particular room.

19. Live the clichéd quotes that are littering your Pinterest page.

You’ve been repinning your little heart out. Now, take that inspiration and roll with it.

20. Do something that’s so millennial it hurts.

Audition for a reality show. Take a selfie. Also, see #10.

Trump Just Confirmed For the First Time That He's Being Investigated

0
0

Friday morning, President Donald Trump took to Twitter (his preferred method of communication) to publicly confirm for the first time that he is being investigated for potential Russian collusion in the 2016 presidential election.

In a series of tweets, Trump seemed to complain about the ongoing investigations, saying that "nobody has been able to show any proof" of potential obstruction of justice.

In his latest tweet, Trump called the situation a “witch hunt” led by the person who “told him” to fire former FBI Director James Comey.

According to The New York Times, the investigation into Trump’s possible obstruction of justice is being led by White House Special Counsel Robert Mueller, who has been investigating whether or not Trump's decision to fire James Comey was just a way of bringing the investigation to a halt. However, according to NBC, Trump’s “witch hunt” tweet may be referring to Rod Rosenstein, the current deputy attorney general. Rosenstein gave Trump a memo last month that allegedly led to Comey's firing.

What's important to note is that by acknowledging—not denying—that he is being investigated, Trump is making a big departure from his previous statements on the matter. While he still maintains that he didn't do anything wrong, he's now confirmed the investigation will partially focus on his actions. And that's a pretty big deal for a sitting president.
