You Have to Hear Camila Cabello's Rendition of 'Despacito'

$

When Fifth Harmony singer Camila Cabello left the group in December 2016, fans could have never expected the simple magic of her impromptu solo cover of Luis Fonsi, Daddy Yankee and Justin Bieber's “Despacito.” Cabello covered the song on Capital FM on Wednesday, and although the clip is only a few verses, it’s definitely worth listening to over and over.

The Cuban-American singer did a fantastic job remembering all of the lyrics, especially after that time Bieber couldn’t recall some lines and merely improvised with “blah blahs.” Sure, you can argue that Camila is a native Spanish speaker, but I'm still singing "all the Starbucks lovers" in "Blank Space," so that argument doesn't really cut it for me.

All I have to say is Camila has the voice of an angel and this cover is a gift. Now why can’t we have a new collaboration? Fonsi/Cabello or Bieber/Cabello, I'm not picky!

Millie Bobby Brown Wore the Infamous Clear Knee Mom Jeans

Just this past week, Millie Bobby Brown took to Instagram to share a photo of herself posing with Maddie Ziegler. This was a normal and totally adorable picture, if not for the sighting of Topshop's infamous meme-inducing creation: the clear knee mom jeans.

Hey girlie, missed ya

A post shared by Millie Bobby Brown (@milliebobbybrown) on

The internet literally could not handle it, with commenters fighting over whether or not these jeans were a good idea. Some brave souls reminded dissenters that Millie is 13 YEARS OLD and does not need to be cyberbullied for her fashion choices.

Although boyfriend and mom jeans have been all the rage recently, Topshop took it to a whole new level when they first featured this pair on their website. With two transparent plastic rectangles sewn into the denim, these pants could only be described as well, pretty lame. I mean sure, if you're looking to show off that awkward area by your shins then this must be the perfect pair of jeans for you, but other than that, the Internet had pretty much given these $95 pants a hard pass. However, like with any trend, there's always someone who's 100 percent here for it—looks like this time it's Millie. Should you find yourself joining Millie behind this trend, shop below!

You'll Never Believe How Much This Danish Model Looks Like Gigi Hadid

Gigi Hadid's beauty is unlike no other—well, except that of her apparent doppelgänger, Danish model Amalie Schou. Byrdie recently discovered the undeniable similarities between the two models, and it's seriously incredible. Comparing some of their Instagram posts makes it clear the two not only share a similar style and aesthetic, but their facial features are almost identical. They both rock perfectly tousled beach waves in most of their pictures, as well as minimalist makeup that highlights their arched brows and gorgeous cheekbones. If these two stood side-by-side, I'm not sure we'd even be able to tell the difference! Don't believe me? Just check out a few of their posts and see for yourself!

Taylor Swift's Music is Finally Back on Spotify & Other Streaming Services

Get ready to put "Shake It Off" on full blast and sing at the top of your lungs, because Taylor Swift is officially back on all music streaming sites!

The singer announced on Twitter last night that her album 1989 sold over 10 million copies worldwide, and that she also received the RIAA 100 million song certification. In celebration of these awesome accomplishments, Swift decided to put all of her music back on Spotify, Tidal and Amazon. She'd originally refused to make her music available for streaming because she thought it was unfair to artists that people could access their music without paying anything for it.

There is one thing that is kind of fishy about this—the day of her music going back online is the same day that Katy Perry's new album Witness came out. Perry is famously the subject of Swift's song Bad Blood. Will this spark a new feud between the two?

If you need me, I'll be sitting on Twitter watching all of this go down.

Jennifer Lawrence Pulls Off the No-Makeup Look Flawlessly

Wearing makeup is fun and all, but some days we just need to give our faces a rest and rock our natural beauty. Even though we usually see celebs wearing a full face of makeup created by some talented makeup artist, it's so refreshing to see photos of them acting like normal people who take breaks from the extra products! Our girl Jennifer Lawrence did just that the other day when she stepped out to get shit done without putting on the extra makeup (she even forgot her laptop sleeve??).

If you didn't think J. Law was relatable before, I'll bet you're rethinking! Not only did she pull off the no-makeup look so effortlessly, but her casual jean jacket outfit is everything I need in my life!

5 Reasons Why You Shouldn't Compare Your Post-College Plans to Your Peers'

$
0
0

Let’s be honest: we’ve all compared ourselves to our friends. From a young age, it almost seems as though we’re conditioned by society to see our peers as competition on the path towards success. Such is certainly the case in college when it comes to academics and finding internships. Yet those feelings of jealousy don’t end once you graduate.

As you find yourself comparing your post-college situation to that of your friends (like where you’ll be working and living) and seeing congratulatory posts acknowledging job offers or grad school acceptances on social media, you might be sinking deeper and deeper into your seat, asking, “Why couldn’t I get that job?” “How come they can move away but I’m stuck living with my parents in my hometown?” and, most importantly, “Why does adulting feel so difficult when other people make it look so easy?”

While these feelings are normal to a degree, they shouldn’t clog your brain and affect your feelings about your own post-college plans. Here are a few reasons why comparing yourself does more harm than good and is a waste of your precious time:

1. Everyone is in your shoes

The majority of college grads feel some degree of jealousy or need to compare their plans to those of their peers. Just when you think you’re in good shape post-graduation, you suddenly hear about a friend who already has your dream job, and then those feelings of worry and doubt start to creep back in.

Remember that everyone feels nervousness towards entering the real world. Even your friend who will be moving to New York City to work for a major fashion magazine who seems to have it all might feel anxiety towards things like making new friends in a foreign place and how they’ll be able to afford rent.

Alaina Leary, a Social Content Curator at Connelly Partners, understands this idea completely. After experiencing some jealousy when she noticed her friends in the same industry getting jobs right out of school, she felt the tables turn when she landed her first job, but soon realized how little someone can understand the full story.

She says, “What [my friends] didn’t realize is that because I lived in Rhode Island at the time, I was commuting over two hours each way to work in Boston traffic while I was waiting for my lease on my Boston apartment to start. I came home from work exhausted from the travel every day, and I never had time to do necessary things like pick out furniture for my new apartment, or plan my graduation party, or research cars…Sometimes you don’t know the details of someone’s story, and we are ALL on different paths.”

We all experience that feeling of jealousy; even your "perfect" friend might be envious of where you'll be living or if you have an easier commute to work.

2. You’ve accomplished more than you realize

Amidst all of the stress that comes with leaving the comfortable walls of college and entering the real world, it’s easy to forget that you just graduated from college! This is a huge accomplishment in itself, and should not be taken for granted. Comparing yourself to others will cause you to lose sight of one of your biggest accomplishments in life.

Give yourself some time after graduation to soak that in and feel pride for your school—you earned that degree, and no one is taking that away from you. If you’ve graduated without clear next steps, use your time wisely to network with alumni from your school.

Whether you’re looking to enter a field related to your major or not, you’ve undoubtedly gained key skills in writing, critical thinking, research and public speaking, which all employers are looking for and should make you feel more optimistic about your future.

3. Social media doesn’t tell the whole story

We all know this concept, but how much do we really understand and absorb it?

Your friends and classmates (and likely yourself included) only share information that will put them in the best light possible. Humble-bragging on social media has become so commonplace that it’s normal to see friends announcing their job offers, acceptances to graduate school, and/or plans to move to a new city in the weeks and months leading up to graduation.

After college, there is sometimes a pressure to keep up that positive image to appear as though you’ve successfully navigated that transition from college to the real world. The next time you look at your Facebook news feed, keep in mind that there is a lot of hard work, sacrifice and even failure that you often don’t see behind those praiseworthy posts of major life events. What you see is usually not the full story, so it’s best to avoid dwelling on the posts you do see and take them with a grain of salt.

4. Everyone is on their own journey

With pressures from society, the media and the people around you looming over your head, it might seem as though there’s a right and a wrong way to begin your career and start “adulting.”

So what if you decide to live at home your first couple of years after college to save money for bigger and better things, or if you choose to take a retail or service industry gig for a few months to buy time to look for that full-time job that you’re really excited about? No post-college journey is better than another, as long as you continually keep your goals in mind and are doing everything in your power to set yourself up for happiness.

Note the purposeful placement of the word “happiness,” as opposed to “success.” Much of people’s fixation on their friends’ plans and feelings of jealousy stem from an archaic definition of the word “success”: That money and status should be the ultimate goal. It’s a lot easier to focus on your own journey over others’ when you think of success as happiness, or passion for one’s endeavors.

Kayla Lewkowicz, a 20-something working at a Cambridge startup, knows the importance of staying on your own path despite being envious of others at times. She says, “In college, it feels like you’re all on the same path. But after, the whole world is at your feet. Though it’s easy to turn green with envy at friends backpacking around the globe or leading outdoor trips, it’s OK to be you, and do your thing. We all have to remember that one.”

5. Your first job is not your last

You shouldn’t feel like a failure coming out of college if your entry-level job is dull, or has little to nothing to do with your major. It might feel as though your friends are getting closer to their career goals much more quickly than you are while you stare at your computer screen at work, but your first job won’t last forever. If anything, your first job should be seen as an opportunity to gain important skills, boost your resume and grow your network. Then, you can start to look for positions that truly pique your interest

In the same vein, you also shouldn’t compare your situation to that of friends in different industries. For example, your engineering major friend may now have an awe-worthy, high-paying job in her industry, while you’re in a low-paying entry-level job in an industry where you have to pay your dues, so to speak, in order to move up.

Kristen Kraemer, a Content & Communication Coordinator at Girl Scouts Heart of New Jersey, knows this feeling well. She says, “No two people are the same, so it’s important to focus on yourself and your accomplishments because they are your own. You are one who worked hard to reach your goals and just because someone’s goals aren’t the same as yours, doesn’t diminish your achievements!”

Here are a few tips to avoid those feelings of jealousy towards your friends after college and put more emphasis on the most important person in your life—yourself:

  • Change your outlook. Rather than looking at your friends’ post-college plans with a critical eye and wondering why you're not in the same place, realize that a percentage of your fate is out of your control. Sometimes, your ability to land a dream job comes down to pure luck and circumstance. Maybe your friends have an “in” at the companies where they were hired, or spoke to a recruiter in person at a job fair at their school. When you take a step back and think about the different factors that go into a hiring decision, it will help you feel more positive about your own situation.
  • Be proactive about achieving your goals. Whether you’re satisfied with your first job out of college or not, take the necessary steps early on to advance your career and put the focus on your goals. Attend networking events at your company and in your city to meet like-minded people who can mentor you. Take classes to learn something new related to your field that will help you improve in your job. Start a side hustle to boost your creativity and explore your varying interests. These suggestions will help take your attention away from your friends’ achievements and allow you to put energy into boosting your own skills.
  • Have fun. Enjoy your 20s and don’t worry so much about what your peers think! While it might seem like the decisions you make right after college will have a large impact on the rest of your career and life, it’s important to not put too much pressure on yourself. Enjoy a night out with friends and avoid having too much of the conversation centered around careers. Do activities periodically to de-stress, from taking yoga classes to unwinding with your favorite book and a cup of tea.

Comparing oneself to friends is extremely easy these days given social media, societal pressures to “succeed” and tendencies to feel doubt and anxiety when your plans don’t fit in with what you pictured. However, if you remain focused on your goals and cancel out the noise, you will find that much of your uncertainties are self-induced and consuming of needless energy. You will always have friends after college who have more money, enviable life experiences and seemingly better jobs, but you should recognize your own journey as the most exciting of all.

Will Badass Senator Kamala Harris Run For President in 2020?

Politics has long been a man’s world. Even now that we've made some progress against sexism, women are expected to be overly grateful just for getting a seat at the table—and if they find themselves speaking out of turn or ruffling a few feathers, they might just be silenced. Remember when Elizabeth Warren was told she couldn't read a letter from Coretta Scott King about Jeff Sessions out loud?

But while Donald Trump has been making himself (somewhat) at home in the White House, a senator from California has been making enormous strides towards the 2020 Presidential race.

Kamala Harris, the first black and Indian-American senator from the state of California, is making a name for herself among Democrats, according to CNN.

Her experience—as district attorney for the city of San Francisco, attorney general for California, and now junior senator for California—has shown voters and Senate members that she could easily handle a run for the White House.

While Harris has denied rumors that she's seeking to run in 2020, her vocal disapproval of the current administration makes a lot of people think she'd be a great candidate, according to Politico.

There have been examples of her strong stance just this week—On Wednesday, she was told to be more courteous after she questioned Trump's deputy attorney general, Rod Rosenstein, too aggressively during a hearing. The Cut points out that no other senator was rebuked, and that Harris was the only woman of color on the committee. The uncomfortable exchange led to a viral video and a fundraising letter from her team, titled, “They told me to be courteous,” Politco reports. Her pitch read: “...here is the truth: I will not be silenced. We will not be silenced. The American people, who deserve the truth, will not be silenced. Not when the faith and integrity of our democracy is at stake.”

Whether or not Harris plans to run for the office of Presidency in 2020, her fierce dedication to a better America is inspiring and empowering, and we can't wait to see what she does next.

Emma Stone Went Platinum Blonde 'Cause She Can Rock Every Look

We know Emma Stone best from her glory days as Olive Penderghast in Easy A or as Mia in La La Land. In both roles, she sported her gorgeous red locks—but now it's time for a change. Emma officially went platinum blonde. She debuted the look on Thursday at the AFI Life Achievement Award Gala Tribute to Diane Keaton. I don't know how she does it, but Emma Stone can actually pull off every look.

If you were curious, Emma is actually a natural blonde, but her fair complexion often looks better with the passionate red hair, hence its popularity in her roles. She's been gradually "coaxing" her hair from the red to ginger, to now blonde. It's a great example for anyone wanting to go platinum blonde—since the process is difficult and can be strenuous on your hair, try a more gradual approach in stages by lightening it over time.

Emma previously went blonde for her role as Gwen Stacy in The Amazing Spider-Man, which she starred in with her now ex-boyfriend Andrew Garfield.

Her blonde look is very chic and the lightness is perfect for summer. She may not be as adventurous as Kylie, but I can't wait to see what color Emma chooses next.

Amanda Bynes Is Back, & Says She Wants to Return to Acting

After having a rough past couple of years, Amanda Bynes may be returning to the limelight.

Bynes, who got her start on the Nickelodeon shows that we all know and love—like All That and The Amanda Show—has been out of the spotlight for the past few years after some bizarre and dangerous behavior that she attributes to drugs.

Bynes, 31, sat down with Diana Madison of Hollyscoop to discuss what she’s been doing lately, as well as her plans for the future.

“I hike, I go spinning...I feed the homeless,” she said of her day-to-day. She's also been attending fashion school at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising, and says she'd like to start a clothing line.

Of course, we're all wondering whether Bynes is a planning on doing any acting—we grew up on What a Girl Wants and She's the Man.

"I do miss acting and I actually have something surprising to tell you: I’m going to start acting again,” Bynes told Madison. “I want to do TV. Maybe a few guest spots on some shows that I’m a fan of and maybe another TV show where I’m the star of it.”

Bynes’ movies were definitely an integral part of my childhood, so it’s good to see her back.

93 Kardashian-Approved Beauty Products That Actually Work

I'm fascinated by the Kardashians, and I'm pretty sure everyone else is too, no matter how much they deny it. For a single family to have a successful reality show for 13 seasons and counting, while launching businesses and modeling contracts left, right and center is a feat, to put things mildly. That being said, we are all too smart to believe everything that comes out of the sisters' mouths, especially when it comes to product endorsements. Skechers Shape-Ups and waist trainers, anyone? Knowing this, I set out to find the truth where Kardashian-approved products are concerned. Concentrating on the five sisters, I researched the wealth of articles out there detailing their intricate beauty routines, and googled each product to find out if the internet generally agreed that it was worth the buy. In the end, I included only the hair, face and makeup products that scored a 4-star rating or above on any combination of Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, Macy's, Nordstrom, Target, Walmart and MakeupAlley (at least at the time of my research). I also chose to exclude anything too redundant, like six different lipstick recommendations from the same person, as well as any Kylie Cosmetics products, although I did include some picks from Kardashian Beauty.

Kourtney

Kourtney is among the most sophisticated of the siblings. The eldest Kardashian is a health nut and a fan of natural products in general. She takes quasi-religious care of her hair and face, and likes her makeup neutral.

Boys & Girls Are Arguing Over the Dress Code At This High School

$

Girls attending Breton High School in Alberta, Canada decided that they had some things to say about their school's dress code—and they decided to make their voices heard though a sign in the girls' bathroom, CNN reports.

The note, which was photographed by students and posted online by Global News Canada, says, "When you interrupt a girl's school day to force her to change clothes, or send her home because her shorts are too short or her bra straps are visible, you are telling her that making sure boys have a 'distraction free' learning environment is more important than her education. Instead of shaming girls for their bodies teach boys that girls are not sexual objects!!!"

The argument the girls make is a fair point—should we really be telling 15-18-year-old girls that they're responsible for covering up their bodies, just because men see them as sexualized from a young age? Many girls have asked these questions over the years, but administrators in many high schools still seem hesitant to make any changes.

In response, some male students at the school posted a note telling the girls that the dress code was just fine with them. It read: "When you wear little to no clothing and dress provocatively because it's 'too hot out' or because you think it's 'attractive', you are putting boys at a risk of having a distracting working environment and saying 'your clothing is more important than their education.' Instead of dressing like a THOT, value the male education and dress conservatively."

School administrators quickly removed the signs when they found out about the situation, and followed up by sending a letter home to parents as well as speaking to the students the next day about "respectful discourse." Wild Rose School Division Superintendent Brad Volkman told CNN that the boys' use of THOT, which stands for "that ho over there" was "clearly out of order."

The school is using this incident as an opportunity to teach students how to have a conversation about something they disagree on, and to discuss the dress code, which bans short skirts, short shorts and visible bra straps. Volkman also told CNN that many of his district's schools aren't air conditioned—which, like, if you're going to make kids cover up, at least get some air conditioning!

With the temperatures rising, we'll be sure to hear more about dress code policies in the coming weeks before schools get out.

Study Shows That Moderate Drinking Could Negatively Impact Your Brain’s Health

CNN reports that a new study may have confirmed one of our biggest fears. No, Scott Disick isn’t dating your younger sister—moderate drinking could negatively impact your brain health over time. Say it ain’t so!

In a recent study, which was published in the BMJ last week, researchers observed the alcohol intake of the Whitehall II study’s participants. The Whitehall II study is a long-term study that has looked at the stress and health of several participants over the last 30 years.

During the study, researchers found that people who drank more often have a greater risk of brain damage, and therefore could be more susceptible to developing neurological disorders associated with memory loss (such as Alzheimer’s and dementia). Yikes. It might be time to cut back on that wine with dinner, even if an occasional glass of wine could help your heart’s health.

The Guardian explains that these study participants didn’t have any form of alcohol dependence, and the amount of alcohol each of the participants consumed varied from person to person. Regardless, the researchers found that those who drank more units of alcohol each week were more likely to experience shrinkage on the right side of the hippocampus, which can account for issues with processing long-term memory.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to spit out your sangria just yet! To prevent yourself from losing your cherished memories later in life, you just need to focus on drinking in moderation. After all, drinking in excess is never good for your body or your judgement, and that's just science.

According to the Whitehall II researchers, you just need to focus on drinking 14 units of alcohol or less each week and you could have a better chance of combating Alzheimer’s and dementia. If you’re like most people and only know how to measure you alcohol in shots and pints, The Independent can help you convert your favorite drinks into 14 units. Your older self will thank you later.

Whether you keep ordering endless mimosas every weekend or you decide to start chugging sparkling apple juice in place of champagne, that’s totally up to you and we support you, boo. After all, your health should be priority no matter what

This Middle School Teacher Lost Her Job After Giving Students Super Inappropriate Superlatives

Nothing says “congratulations” like a good ol’ end-of-the-year awards ceremony. But a middle school teacher at Lance Cpl. Anthony Aguirre Junior High School in Texas decided to ruin that tradition with incredibly inappropriate superlatives. According to The New York Times, instead of giving normal awards like “most improved” or “most welcoming,” Stacy Lockett instead handed out certificates with phrases like "most likely to become a terrorist" or "most likely to blend in with white people."

According to a video on Click2Houston, Lizeth Villanueva, the student awarded the “most likely to become a terrorist” award, said the awards included "Most likely to cry about every little thing, because [that student] is very emotional...There was another one about this kid. His was kind of like a joke because all his friends would call him, 'Little homeless Indian.' And [the teacher] told him, 'Most Likely to Become Homeless in Guatemala.”

Joke or no joke, this is not the type of behavior that teachers should be modeling for young students, and the school confirmed to the Times that Lockett is no longer employed there. These kids are going to be experiencing enough racism and prejudice as it is—there's no need for their teachers, who are supposed to provide a safe space to learn, to add on to the pile.

Although most families were horrified by Lockett's actions, some parents, and even students, said they liked her.

Evelyn Ruano is one of them. “She's a really great teacher,” she told Click2Houston. "The way she teaches her students, she makes it feel like it's a second home for them.”

The 7 Best Jobs If You Love To Travel

$

"I don't know. Something that involves traveling."

Whether we have said it ourselves or heard it from someone else upon being asked about a future career, this response, though vague, is totally valid. The majority of the time, the best way to come to a conclusion about anything, including a career to pursue, is to figure out the surrounding criteria we want to meet.

It's similar to picking a college to attend: first, you figure out the desired details, like preferred location, size, demographics, prestige, etc. Then you're able to narrow your selection down to schools with your ideal features. Throughout our years of schooling, we develop interests we want to integrate into a dream job, a job that too often remains a dream, because we don’t even know it exists. A career that entails travelling is definitely left in the unattainable dream job category, but doesn’t have to be.

The good thing about traveling is that it can be applicable to the broader field of your choice. If you love to travel, here are some careers you’ve probably never considered.

1. Flight attendant

The most obvious traveling careers are the ones where the sole obligation is traveling itself, such as a flight or cruise attendant. Yes, they include waiting on others, but the tasks can be lesser than those of a restaurant waitress. These workers go to the same places as the people they’re waiting on, and are getting paid for it. Attendants also get discounted or even free flights for their own vacation time. We think it’s safe to say this aspect compensates for the erratic work hours this occupation will most likely entail.

2. Retail buyer

You might be among the number of lucky flight attendants who get to accompany people on business trips, or better yet, the goal can be to be one of those people yourself. If you have both a sense of fashion and wanderlust, a retail buyer is the perfect job for you. The person who evaluates and purchases a company’s inventory travels to major corporate headquarters. These headquarters are often located in the iconic fashion capitals of the world. Aim to land it big in the fashion industry, and you can literally land wherever you want.

3. Consultant

A consultant travels to different business sites to resolve issues with their specialized expertise. Being able to complete difficult tasks and guide a company through changes with a unique and creative skill set defines a consultant's career. Even better, your flights to areas in need of your assistance are most likely covered.

4. Government employee

Although members of government are primarily responsible for managing a designated area, they have to travel to other places frequently. Many positions in the U.S. Department of State require being in contact with areas across the globe, and having to see them for yourself. You can do several things within the State Department at large. You can even be a teacher, and travel with a school system operated through the Department of Defense for children of military personnel. You don’t have to particularly love politics for a governmental position to be on the table.

5. Foreign correspondent

This is another job that allows you to do what you enjoy while contributing to society. A foreign correspondent is a news commentator or journalist that reports from abroad. Those aiming to pursue this career often get a general degree in communications, journalism, or broadcasting and pair it with a compementary minor. Amelia Alexander, a sophomore at Penn State University, is a communications major who recently declared a minor in Spanish. She decided to do so after going on several trips her freshman year and developing a love for traveling. "After asking my academic advisor how to utilize my communications degree in a career that involves traveling," she says, "he suggested that I learn another language so that I am especially marketable."

Minoring in a foreign language or even having visited foreign countries definitely increases the likelihood of your company designating you as the traveling employee.

6. Athletic recruiter

It is common for talented artists and athletes to take the business approach to their field as a career. Many great athletes aim to be athletic recruiters themselves, the people whose goal of theirs it once was to impress. These people are employed by professional sports organizations and universities, and make a living by traveling far and wide to watch games and observe the best players for potential recruitment. Aside from the fact that the sight of you sends student athletes into crippling anxiety, being an athletic recruiter couldn’t sound more ideal for any lover of the game.

7. Artist

Too often, we are advised not to pursue an artistic career because of a low salary and the overall uncertainty of it. If you desire to travel, though, this ambiguity already excites you. A successful artistic career that involves travelling can take the form of a back-up dancer, a wedding destination photographer or a makeup artist. They all basically mean you are so good at what you do, people can’t help but bring you with them wherever they go. Not many possess creative ability, so if you do, take advantage of it.

Honestly, though... you can turn anything you want into a career that involves travelling. You can add “traveling” in front of any occupation title, and there you have it.  If you don’t want the obvious jobs like an attendant, tour guide or agent, be innovative.

An employee in the Career Services Center at Pace University's NYC campus says that he has "seen many students turn careers into traveling ones themselves. "Having studied abroad is a huge plus," he adds. "Take advantage of every opportunity your college has to offer and become as academically and culturally well-rounded as possible."

Be the best at whatever you want to pursue, bringing to the table something so unique that it can’t be found just anywhere, therefore your presence is demanded worldwide. Instead of trying to particularly pursue a job that involves traveling, pursue any job passionately, and we guarantee you'll have to travel.

Ariel Winter Just Shut Down Her Mom's Judgment of Her Outfit Choices

Ariel Winter has already made it clear that she's not here for your opinions about her body, or how much of it she chooses to cover with clothes - and that includes those coming from her mother, who the actress was legally emancipated from when she was 17, citing accusations that her mother physically and emotionally abused her.

ICYMI, her mother Chrystal Workman basically publicly shamed her daughter's fashion choices to In Touch, telling the magazine, "She needs to grow up. I would tell her to dress properly, be the beautiful person she is. I feel sad that she feels the need to expose herself when it’s not necessary," she said. "Ariel is smart, beautiful and talented. She is a legitimate actress. She does not need to do this. She is beautiful with her clothes on."

Of course, being Ariel Winter, the Modern Family actress didn't stay silent on the matter. On Thursday, she took to Instagram with a response that explained everything that was wrong with Workman's comments.

"Someone that can do what the fuck ever they want with their body because skirt length does not correlate to how sexually available that person is regardless of how society teaches that we should be ashamed of our bodies," the illustration reads, covering over marks on the back of a woman's leg that read things like "flirty,""slut" and "prude." PREACH GIRL.

Ariel's post is a very important reminder that as grown women, it's our choice whether we rock a maxi dress or a teeny mini skirt - and no, a woman's choice doesn't indicate her sexual availability. End of discussion.

Of Course, Trump Is Denying Everything Comey Said in His Testimony

On Thursday, former FBI director James Comey gave a long-awaited testimony under oath about the circumstances of his firing, and whether it had anything to do with the fact that he was leading the investigation into the Trump team's ties to Russia during the election. Despite the fact that what Comey said was pretty damning for the White House, Trump, of course, is already publicly denying everything Comey said, even asserting that he'd be willing to testify under oath against Comey.

The New York Times reports that during a press conference on Friday, Trump accused Comey of lying under oath during his testimony, saying, "Frankly, James Comey confirmed a lot of what I said, and some of the things he said just weren't true." He even went as far as to say that Comey's testimony proved that the president didn't obstruct justice.

"Yesterday showed no collusion, no obstruction," the president said. "He's a leaker," he added.

Trump is known for taking to Twitter when things aren't exactly looking up for him, but the president surprisingly stayed relatively silent, only tweeting once about the whole thing before his comments on Friday.

During Friday's press conference he outright denied another one of the major discoveries from Comey's testimony: that he allegedly asked Comey for his loyalty and requested that he drop the Russia investigation. "I didn’t say that," he said. "And there’d be nothing wrong if I did say it." (Yikes.)

There's also still the question of whether or not Trump actually has 'tapes' of he and Comey's meetings, which he hinted at with a tweet several weeks ago. Naturally, reporters questioned the president about them yet again - and he still can't confirm whether they actually exist or not, shadily answering questions about possible tapes with, "I'll tell you sometime maybe in the very near future,"BuzzFeed News reports.

Hmm. Like always, the president certainly handled things, um, interestingly.

7 Ways to Get a Head Start on College Apps the Summer Before Senior Year

$

While thinking about college applications may be the last thing you want to do the summer before your senior year, starting to put some things together can put you at a huge advantage. When the fall comes around, you’re already going to be stressed out with assignments and your social calendar, so doing these small things now could take a huge load off your stress level! We talked to Michelle Podbelsek, co-owner of College Counseling Associates, and collegiettes to get the low down on what rising seniors should be doing now.

Whether you’re just starting to think about college applications or have your college list nailed down, doing these seven things over the summer will be helpful in the long run.

1. Start a spreadsheet

Applying for college can be hectic—especially if you’re planning on applying to more than a few. It is important to stay organized! Starting a spreadsheet with what colleges you want to apply to or your accomplishments will keep things in order later on.

Megan Downing, a junior at East Carolina University, suggests making a list of clubs, leadership positions and extracurricular activities you’ve been involved with and another list of accomplishments or awards you’ve received! Keeping these in order will simplify the application process. “That helped me a lot because they do love to know what you were involved in,” she says. What are you waiting for? Open that Excel sheet!

2. Make a Common App account

The words Common App may make you cringe, but they will be your best friends later on. After all, wouldn’t you rather fill out one application than ten? Creating a Common App account will put you a step ahead of the game. You’ll be able to fill out the general information that will just be tedious later on.

“It will save you time,” Podbelsek says. “Senior year you have so many things to do regarding teacher and counselor recommendations, activities, schoolwork, etc. Get as much done as possible during the summer.” We couldn’t agree more!

3. Start looking for scholarships

While college applications themselves are priority, it’s key to remember that scholarships are important, too! College is a huge expense, and starting to look for scholarships early on will definitely be beneficial. Websites such as Scholly, ScholarshipPoints and Scholarships.com can give you the head start you need.

“Create an account for those websites and begin to search scholarships that fit your specific talents, characteristics and interests,” Podbelsek says. “By doing that now and starting to read about upcoming scholarships, you can see what essays you may need to write and learn about what type of help is out there.”

Christine Pearson, a junior at the College of Charleston, has similar advice. “If you leave scholarship applications until after you have secured your acceptances, you could be missing out on great scholarship opportunities!” she says. “Go to your guidance office, search online and find those scholarships so that when you are accepted, the finances won't be weighing you down.” Start searching, ladies!

4. Decide who to ask for recommendations

A big part of college applications is getting letters of recommendation. While the applications and essays are up to you, recommendations are out of your hands. By thinking about who you’ll ask for recommendations over the summer, you’ll be first in line in the fall. Brainstorm teachers, coaches or counselors who know your character and will speak well on your behalf. This will save a ton of stress once school starts back up.

“You typically need two letters from teachers in core subjects,” Podbelsek says. “Many schools just require one, but we recommend sending the two to all your schools.” This could help you stand out if you’re a borderline candidate!

“You can also send extra letters from outside sources, like maybe one from an employer, or your art teacher or your leadership or debate coach,” she says. Podbelsek suggests getting letters from people who will know you in a different context that will add to your application. It’s important to have more people than you need in mind in case someone says no or falls through!

5. Get in community service hours

As you may know, community service is crucial come time to submit your college apps. Admissions counselors are impressed by people who volunteer because it shows the type of person you are!

“Volunteering in a meaningful way is important—if it relates to your interests,” Podbelsek says. “For example, if you are just volunteering in random events because you think it will look good, then consider investing your time in an activity that you will really gain something from and you can maybe write about in an essay.” If you want to go into education, volunteer at a school or tutoring center. If you’re a soccer fan, help coach a younger sibling’s team. Just be sure you can make a connection!

6. Start writing essays

Starting your essays over the summer will give you more time to think about whatever it is you’re going to write about. When you have more free time, your mind will be clearer and your writing will be more efficient!

“The Common App essay questions have been released so start writing essays now, in the summer, before school and homework take up all your mental energy again,” Podbelsek says. When September comes around, you’ll be happy you’re either done or just need to make some finishing touches.

7. Narrow down your college list

The most important thing when it comes to college applications is knowing which colleges you’re applying to. If you have no idea where you’re applying, you won’t be able to get as much of a head start on your applications.

“Research and narrow down the college list,” Podbelsek says. “That is key and needs to be done sooner rather than later.” Search online, visit schools and decide what your best options are. Knowing where you’re applying before school starts will take a huge burden off your back!

While summer should be relaxing and fun (and it still can be!), getting a head start on your college applications will put you at an advantage. When fall rolls around and everyone’s stressing out, you can sit back, relax and enjoy the start of your senior year. Good luck, soon-to-be collegiettes!

Gal Godot Managed to Film Most of 'Wonder Woman' While Hiding Her Pregnancy

Starring in one of the biggest movies of 2017 is already no easy feat - and it turns out that Gal Godot filmed the majority of her Wonder Woman scenes while hiding the fact that she was pregnant with her second child, who was born in March.

In an interview with Marie Claire Godot opened up about hiding her pregnancy from producers and coworkers during the first few months because she didn't want special treatment - she even went as far as to discreetly vomit from morning sickness in corners and film scenes while dealing with migraines.

"I gutted it out," she told the magazine for her June 2017 cover story. "I started to come to set with sunglasses. I had this jug of water with huge pieces of ginger. One of the producers kept on asking, 'Why are you drinking that potato water?' They thought I'd gone Hollywood."

Obviously, when her baby bump started to make itself obvious, the producers worked with the actress to create a green screen for it so it could be digitally removed during production. In any case, being pregant isn't exactly easy, not to mention filming an entire action-packed superhero movie while your body is literally building a human being - proving Godot is probably actually Wonder Woman IRL
