What The Manchester Bombings Felt Like to an Ariana Grande Fan & Concertgoer

By Kayla White

If you know me, you know much of my music-loving life revolves around Ariana Grande. Being an “Arianator” for nearly five years, I have basically acquired enough knowledge about the girl to recite her entire life since birth. One of the highlights of my own life was meeting her and her family for the first time at the release party for her debut album, Yours Truly, in 2013. Since 2012, I’ve spent days and nights running around NYC (and even other states) for concerts, events, and hotels, hoping to meet Ari or see her perform. I’ve been to over 30 concerts since then, and Ariana is the artist I’ve seen the most–seven times to be exact. She is an incredible singer with incredible music, so I don’t regret the hundreds of dollars I’ve spent seeing her every time she came to my city.

The most recent concert of hers I attended was on February 24, 2017, at Madison Square Garden in New York. It was the first leg of the Dangerous Woman Tour. I went with my mom for the first time, because she also likes Ariana and wanted to see her live. She sang all the bops and more, and even brought out Jason Robert Brown as a special guest to do “Jason’s Song." I was LIVING. It was an amazing show. Everything about that night is why I love going to concerts. Everyone is dressed in merch, happy and having fun seeing the person they love sing her heart out (in addition to awesome choreography and special effects). It’s one of the best things you could ever experience.

5th, 6th, 7th time's a charm?

A post shared by (@kaylaxciara) on

Hearing the news of the bombings in the Manchester Arena after the show was one of the worst I’ve ever received. I cried immediately after I found out it was confirmed as an attack. I couldn’t fathom my favorite singer’s concert being the site of the deadliest terror attack in the United Kingdom in over a decade. I couldn’t imagine all those people walking out of that arena to be maimed and killed by some sick individual. Until that moment, it had probably been the greatest night for some of those young girls. It was especially hard because I saw myself in some of those who died or were injured, simply someone who loves Ariana and went to see her perform–something I’ve done so many times. And when you walk out of that show, you’re thinking about beating the crowd to get home at a decent time, or deciding which picture to post on Instagram the next day. The thought of what happened would never cross a fan’s mind.

Fandoms are such an amazing thing. Once you are a part of one, you gain an entire community who loves the same person you do. As cheesy as it sounds, those people become your family–whether you know them or not. Though I am considered to be an Arianator, I’ve never really considered myself to be in the fandom. However, I’ve always loved and admired the kind and sweet people they are. What happened Monday struck a nerve that left Ariana and her millions of fans feeling shattered, heartbroken, and devastated. How does a fandom full of teens and young people carry on after seeing some of their own become victims of a terrorist attack? There is no blueprint. Despite that, having a community of people to lean on, people who are experiencing the same feelings as you helps immeasurably. Hayley Williams of Paramore said it best: things like the Manchester attacks can affect us emotionally even if we don’t acknowledge it. To my Arianators, it is okay if you still feel affected by this and are hurting. I am too. Take time off if you need to and be there for others if they need it too. To Ariana, I know you’re going through hell right now, but just know you are surrounded by family and fans who are supporting you near and far. Please take this time off to heal and focus on the families of those who lost their lives. We love you.

Rest in peace to all the victims of the Manchester attack. To Saffie, Georgina, Olivia, John, Martyn, Sorrell, and Nell, I’m glad we got to be part of a family so beautiful. I will keep you in my memory for the rest of my life.

Jeffree Star Revealed Kylie Jenner's New Lip Kits Before the Official Announcement

Jeffree Star and Kylie Jenner have a lot in common. Both are celebrities from Calabasas, and have a soft spot for fast cars, cute dogs and anything designer. Most importantly, both operate large-scale, über popular cosmetic companies that are known for their liquid lipsticks.

While you could think there would be constant competition between the two makeup moguls—with the Exposed Lip Kit ($29 at Kylie Cosmetics) and Mannequin Velour Liquid Lipstick ($18 at Jeffree Star Cosmetics) competing for fans' attention, but the two brands seem to have a relatively civil relationship. Jeffree Star frequently receives PR packages from Kylie and her team, which he reviews on his YouTube channel, leading many fans to infer that the two brands, and more importantly makeup moguls, are on friendly terms.

But things weren’t always so cordial between the two competitors. Last year, when Kylie released her original lip glosses, Jeffree went on a Twitter rant, calling the products "unacceptable" and “bad.”

Kylie has moved past this scandal, and apologized to customers with a new lip gloss wand, which she sent to those who had purchased the original ones. Jeffree has been highly respected in the beauty community for a long time, known as a seasoned makeup artist, both before launching his own company and after. Because of his experience, he is widely respected as knowledgeable in product reviews, with many followers and fans waiting to hear his opinion before pulling the trigger (i.e. pressing the "buy" button) on a pricey product.

Since Jeffree has a history of being very honest with reviews on all products—including Kylie’s—fans can be sure to hear his real thoughts on her latest products. I respect Kylie for consistently sending Jeffree her products in advance, giving his ample time to use her products, and review them, so that mutual fans are sure that her products are “Jeffree-approved.”

This week, Kylie announced that she would be revealing and selling three new lip kits in her velvet formula. Fans anxiously waited, trolling on all social media platforms, to see when Kylie would announce the new colors.

However, before Kylie could release her new shades to excited buyers, Jeffree beat her to it. He released both the shade names and colors hours before the official ones from Kylie Cosmetics were posted.

Before anyone accuses Jeffree of stealing Kylie’s thunder, because, lets be honest, there could be a logical explanation for the whole situation. Kylie also explained that she sent influencers the three new shades on the same day as she was releasing them to the general public (someone had a very busy day!). Since Jeffree and Kylie are both based out of Calabasas, there is a good chance that Jeffree simply received the PR package earlier than expected, as Cosmopolitan points out.

Of course, this is all speculation; but in the public eye, there seems to be no drama between the two, especially in light of recent events, as Kylie responded to Jeffree’s tweets positively.

For anyone who is more concerned with the makeup as opposed to the drama, the three shades—Grape Soda, a violet-grey shade, Strawberry Creme, a summery light pink, and Poison Berry, a deep, reddish brown—are all available right now on the Kylie Cosmetics website.

7 Things You Should Do Immediately After a Breakup

$

0

On our list of least favorite things, breakups fall somewhere between guac being extra and sold out Beyoncé tickets—basically, they suck. Whether you had your heart broken or you were the one to end the relationship, the post-breakup etiquette rules are always a bit hazy. We’re really sorry that he or she wasn’t the one, but we’ve got a silver lining for you: Her Campus had the opportunity to speak with Jodi R.R. Smith, president and owner of Mannersmith Etiquette Consulting—and she’s breaking down what to do right after a breakup.

1. Take the high road

In all cases, but especially in the event that you broke up with your significant other, you need to take the high road. “If they put up a nasty post about you on Facebook, don’t respond,” says Smith. “If they scream at you and say they never want to talk to you again, tell them, ‘I validate your feelings,’ and walk away. Don’t get pulled into any emotional backlash that is happening.” People are going to ask why you broke up, but you shouldn’t be telling them. Obviously you’ll want to talk about the breakup with your closest friends, but you don’t want to make your ex look bad to your circle of friends. If a mutual acquaintance or classmate is really pushing you for details, Smith suggests a number of phrases you can use:

  • “We were young and we were in love and now we’re not in love.”
  • “The relationship ran its course.”
  • “Sometimes things just don’t work out.”
  • “S/he is a great person, just not a great person for me right now.”

“You don’t owe anyone a giant explanation of your breakup,” says Smith. If people ask what happened, don’t feel pressured to rope them into the drama.

Smith also suggests giving your ex a little bit of space. “When you’re the one doing the breaking up, give the person the space to be in the places that are familiar to them,” she says. “Go to the Starbucks on the other side of campus or study in a different library so that you’re not causing more pain.” While breakups are never simple, you can help make things a little less complicated by being the bigger person.

2. Process appropriately

It’s important to resist the urge to process the breakup on social media. Instead of sub-tweeting or posting a tearful emoji to your Snap story, call or text your bestie(s) and meet for coffee, drinks or just a walk around the park. Rather than text-ranting to your big, just talk it out. “Process it face-to-face in a place where it’s not going to be documented for posterity,” says Smith. Attempting to understand what just happened is key to accepting it, but you don’t want your emotions coming back to bite you later on.

3. Protect your emotional well being

Smith recommends at least temporarily blocking your ex’s feeds so that he or she is not popping up in your social media while you’re trying to move on. “You’re the only one that can protect yourself,” she says. “And you need to protect your emotional well being. Even the most emotionally healthy person will be tempted to cyberstalk their ex, and that’s not healthy.” Smith suggests blocking them for at least the first month or so, after which you can decide whether or not you want to see what’s going on in their lives. You may also want to unfriend them so that they’re not cyberstalking you. “Make sure that all your privacy settings are what they need to be,” says Smith.

After her relationship ended, Caitlin Duncan, a senior at University of New Haven, deleted all photos and conversations from her phone. “It was torture to sit there and read our old conversations and look back on old photos,” says Caitlin. “I also hid his Facebook posts and muted him on Twitter because I really couldn't bear to see his posts. I didn't want to unfriend/unfollow him, so using the mute feature was helpful.” While you may not want to erase all of your digital memories, if it helps you move on, it may be the right thing to do.

You don’t necessarily have to block your ex’s cell phone number, but Smith does recommend not answering it when you see their name or number pop up on your screen. “Just because they’ve called you or are in the process of calling you, does not mean that you should answer it,” she says. “Let them leave a message. Listen to the message, and then decide whether or not you want to respond. And sometimes you just have to delete. You don’t owe them an explanation.” You know yourself better than anyone, so do what you need to do to make the best of a bad situation.

4. Wallow (a little)

Believe it or not, it’s okay to wallow! “I think that when you’ve had your heart broken, to shake it off and pretend like nothing is wrong doesn’t do anybody any good,” says Smith. “What you’re not allowed to do is to become consumed by the wallowing. If after about the two-week mark you still suddenly burst into tears for no reason, then it’s time to get professional help. But for the first fourteen days, eat a lot of ice cream, cry a lot, watch really sappy Ryan Gosling movies. Really feel what’s going on.” You heard her—break out the Ben & Jerry’s, add a bunch of chick flicks to your Netflix queue and grab some tissues—you’ll need them.

5. Celebrate you

Once you’re done wallowing, it’s time to celebrate you. Smith explains that this means different things for different people. “For somebody that might mean going out and buying a whole new wardrobe or going out and cutting off their hair and having a totally new style; for other people it’s an opportunity to refocus on the things they really love,” she says. “Oftentimes when you’re in a partnership, what happens is you can’t always do everything you like to do, because you have to compromise…that’s part of being in a relationship. Now you’re not in a relationship, so if they didn’t like watching foreign films, go to a foreign film festival. Find the things that you really like to do and do them.”

This means you need to get out of the house (or apartment or dorm room) and connect with people. While you may want to continue moping around in your pajamas, trust us, this will be better for you. Smith suggests helping out at a homeless shelter or volunteering for a breast cancer walk—just do something to get yourself busy again that will help keep your mind off of feeling sorry for yourself. It may sound harsh, but it’s worth it in the long run.

6. Find your own closure

Smith explains that for twentysomethings, the amount of closure we’re going to be able to get after a breakup is pretty minimal. There’s nothing that the other person can really say to make us feel any better. So, don’t look to your ex for closure. Instead, focus on you and your feelings. Get a journal and write about it. “I’m a big fan of journals,” says Smith. “I find that people process when [they] actually have to sit down and write something out. Write the person a letter or write your future self a letter. Write a short story about the different ways that this relationship could have gone. Find the way that works for you. If you need to, it’s perfectly fine to go and see a counselor and talk about why you’re having a hard time moving on.”

Some people like to get rid of every single thing that reminds them of the other person. “If you want to do that you certainly can,” says Smith. However, she recommends taking the stuff and boxing it up, putting it under your bed, in the back of a closet or in storage. When it comes time to move, open up the box and see if there’s anything that you’d like to keep, because it’s nostalgic or meaningful for you. If not, then donate it, give it away or send it back to the person. Again, it’s all about what works for you and your process.

7. Start to move on

While Smith cautions against jumping right back into a serious relationship, she acknowledges that there are many ways to get over a relationship—whether that means having a one night stand or remaining celibate. “You need to decide what works for you,” she says. “But what I caution people against is going out, having a one night stand with somebody and then feeling worse about themselves in the morning. So think about what’s going to make you feel better and do that.” It’s going to take time to accept the breakup and begin to move on. Don’t feel like there is a right or wrong way to deal with your emotions—just do what works for you. You may not know what that is right now, but through trial and error, you’ll figure it out.

Breakups definitely aren’t fun, but they’re a perfectly normal part of your college years—and beyond. You have to kiss (and date!) many frogs before you find your prince or princess, so don’t give up. Like Smith says, “This too shall pass. No matter how hard it is…it goes away, you get over it and you’ll go on to live a complete and happy life.” It gets better, collegiettes!

Dani Mathers Was Sentenced to Probation for That Gym-Shaming Photo

Snapchat has become a social media platform famous for its public story feature. Although numerous celebrities have shared controversial photos or videos with followers, sometimes they’re completely inappropriate. In the case of former Playboy model Dani Mathers,Cosmopolitanreports the 30-year-old has received three years probation for her Snapchat mistake.

Last July, Mathers photographed a 70-year-old naked woman in an L.A. Fitness locker room. Not only did she invade the unknown woman’s privacy, but Mathers also body-shamed her by captioning the picture, “If I can’t unsee this, then you can’t either.” Mathers posted the photo to her public Snapchat story, although she later claimed the message was meant to be private.

On Wednesday, the judge in this high-profile case decided on a punishment for Mathers, who pleaded no contest to an invasion of privacy charge. Not only will she spend the next three years on probation, but she will also have to spend 30 days removing graffiti in Los Angeles. On top of those punishments, Mathers is no longer a radio show host nor is she allowed at any L.A. Fitness in the future.

The Los Angeles Times reports that Mathers never knew the identity of the woman she body-shamed, but according to her attorney Dana Cole, “[She] wanted to be done with [the trial] and accept responsibility for what occurred.” The former model has apologized publicly multiple times since the incident.

The real question to consider now is whether Mathers’ punishment is harsh enough for her body-shaming crime.

Sarah Hyland Shut Down Body Shamers Who've Been Criticizing Her Weight With This Powerful Message

Having recently refused to trash talk on-screen sister Ariel Winter to paparazzi, Modern Family star Sarah Hyland has taken to Twitter again—only this time, Hyland is addressing her own body image and something haters have been targeting: her weight. Refinery29 reports kidney dysplasia has caused Hyland's weight to fluctuate, in addition to some other health problems. In 2012, she underwent a kidney transplant but has still battled with her health since the surgery.

On Wednesday, Hyland posted a series of messages discussing the backlash she’s dealt with in recent years. She began, “I'd like to address something that has not only been brought up on Twitter but has been HEAVILY discussed by all of you in my Instagram comments. That something is my weight. I don't normally comment on things like this because it draws attention to those trying to spread negativity but I'm here to explain a few things and spread love. Here goes.

"I haven't had the greatest year," she continued. "Maybe one day I'll talk about it, but for now I'd like my privacy. I will say that this year has brought a lot of changes and with that, physical changes. I have been told that I can't work out. Which, for me, is very upsetting. I am an activist for activity (and for eating junk food in bed but it's all about balance right?). I love to be outdoors. I love to be STRONG. (I'll be using that word a lot.)

"Strength is everything. Being strong has gotten me where I am. Both mentally and physically. I am not a fan of 'being skinny.' Which many of you have told me that I am too much of. 'Eat a burger,''your head is bigger than your body and that's disgusting.' And you're right! I should eat a burger! 'Cause they're fucking delicious! But guess what. I do.

"And again, you're right. No one's head should be bigger than their body but considering I've basically been on bed rest for the past few months, I've lost a lot of muscle mass. My circumstances have put me in a place where I'm not in control of what my body looks like. So I strive to be as healthy as possible, as everyone should. Oh, and no, that's not Photoshop. Those are my legs. Those are my arms.

"I write this because I've been accused of promoting anorexia in, ironically enough, an anti-bullying post. And I want girls to know that that's NOT my intention. I posted a picture of my boyfriend's apparel line, in which part of the proceeds go to the Anti-Bullying Alliance, and am in return bullied. Which made me laugh but then it dawned on me that young girls are reading posts that are saying that I'm promoting anorexia due to my weight. While those comments don't affect me, they may affect others.

"So I'm here to say that no one should aim to be the weight that I am at right now. I am working hard to maintain my weight by eating as much protein as possible and continue to be STRONG and healthy. There's no need to worry! I've been down before and I'll probably be down again in my lifetime but I'm steadfast and solid and will conquer my obstacles.

"Since I'm here… you may wonder. Am I bothered by my appearance right now? Well it's never fun to look in the mirror and see your hard work at the gym fade away or have your legs be the size of one's arms. But I know that when I get clearance I will be able to get back to the STRONG, lean, and fabulous self I know I can be. You all will probably have something to say about that as well but it doesn't affect me. I don't mind when you say that I look pregnant. Or fat. Because I know that my face is swollen from medication that is saving my life. For those on prednisone, I know what you're going through and I commend you sticking it out as I have.

"My self-confidence is not rendered from your comments. Because I will always be too fat. I will always be too skinny. I will never have enough curves to be called a woman. And I will always be a slut for wearing a push-up bra. Love the you you set out to be. Be the best version of yourself. Be healthy.

"I'm a 26-year-old woman who goes through more than you could even imagine on a daily basis. But I work hard. I love hard. And I got to where I am because I am STRONG and didn't give up. I am grateful for the life I live and you should be, too. Don't let others' comments alter any part of you! Love and positivity is what we need most. Especially at a time like this. The world may be falling apart but it's up to us to pull it back together. Smile. Laugh. Love. Be happy. Support your peers. Love. Work hard. Be confident. Love. Adopt puppies! Tell your mum you appreciate her. LOVE. LOVE. LOVE."

The message has elicited a positive response, with Sarah's costar, Sofia Vergara, among those publicly applauding her.

I highly, highly recommend that every girl with or without body issues read Hyland’s words. They definitely have my approval.

The IT Cosmetics Superhero Is the Best Mascara I've Ever Used

"Mascara is mascara," said no one ever. For such a basic product, it's crazy how big of a difference the right one can make. Now that I think about it, I've never actually bought the same mascara more than once, and I've been wearing it since I was, like, 12. I was never that impressed with fan favorites such as the Maybelline Great Lash (too clumpy) or the Too Faced Better Than Sex (barely visible).

I was recently sent the IT Cosmetics Superhero mascara ($24) for review and, honestly, I think my quest has finally ended. This magic wand gives me the longest lashes ever with ZERO. CLUMPS. If you like more volume, two layers of product will do the trick—which is fine, because the formula is super buildable. I've only been wearing this mascara for a week or so and have already received several compliments on it, which is really saying something.

Apparently, I am not the only one who loves this product: it has a 4.2-star rating on Ulta and a 4.1 on Sephora. If you still don't believe me, maybe beauty vlogger Sarah Jones can convince you:

Obama's White House Photographer Is Throwing Major Shade at President Trump on Instagram

They're calling him the "master of classy shade," according to The Washington Post. Pete Souza, who was the White House photographer during the Obama Administration, is having a lot of fun with President Donald Trump.

Through strategically chosen #TBT pictures from the Obama years, Souza's providing his own commentary on recent happenings in Trumpworld—for example, Melania refusing to hold President Trump's hand earlier this week.

Holding hands.

A post shared by Pete Souza (@petesouza) on

He's totally trolling Trump, and going viral at the same time. The posts are so funny that they kind of bring the positive energy of the Obama family back to social media.

Just yesterday, he posted a picture of Obama and the Pope.

Mutual admiration, 2016.

A post shared by Pete Souza (@petesouza) on

The photo stands in stark contrast to yesterday's photo of a smiling Trump standing beside a scowling Pope Francis.

While photos only capture a moment in time and don't necessarily represent the full story, Souza's photo throwbacks are still a fascinating comparison between the past and present administration.

His posts remind followers of the days when smiles were many and scandals were few. And after having one of the coolest jobs in America, Souza is definitely looking to use his pictures for the full benefit (and laughter) of his audience.

A GOP Congressional Candidate Body-Slammed a Reporter For Asking About Health Care

In today’s world, journalism plays a very important role, seeking out the truth when even the government won’t be honest. Some people find journalists annoying—some refuse to talk to them. But physically assaulting a reporter? Now, that’s taking it way too far.

Ben Jacobs, a reporter for The Guardian, tweeted late Wednesday that he was body-slammed by Montana Republican Congressional candidate Greg Gianforte while trying to ask him a question about health care. Gianforte's camp later denied the allegation.

Jacob's account was confirmed by audio taken during the assault. In the audio, Gianforte is heard yelling, "I am sick and tired of you guys! The last guy who came in here did the same thing! Get the hell out of here!" The situation was also corroborated by a FOX News team, which further detailed the assault, adding Gianforte punched Jacobs. The FOX reporters were in the room when the alleged assault occurred. BuzzFeed reporter Alexis Levinson partially witnessed the assault as well, despite not having a complete view of what happened.

Gianforte is currently Montana's frontrunner in a special election for a Congressional seat which was vacated when the Congressman was chosen to become Secretary of the Interior. It is the only seat Montana holds in the U.S. House of Representatives.

After the assault Wednesday, three of Montana's major newspapers rescinded their endorsement of Gianforte. The Missoulian, The Billings Gazzette and The Independent Record each asserted he was not fit to serve political office and this attack was in blatant disregard for freedom of press. In addition to no newspaper endorsements, Gallatin County Sheriff has charged Gianforte with misdeameanor assault after clamor from the people. The sheriff had previously donated to Gianforte's campaign but maintains this donation will not interfere with his impartiality in this this case.

Some have even called for Gianforte to pull out the race. This, however, is unlikely as many believe that scandals simply won't make his supporters like him any less—just like in the case President Donald Trump. There's no way yet to know how this may affect the race, as more than 200,000 early votes had already been cast by the time the assault occurred, according to The Washington Post

Gianforte has since canceled his election day interviews with MSNBC and FOX news.

The final polling day for Montana's special election is Thursday.

Trump's Travel Ban Will Remain Blocked Thanks to This Federal Appeals Court

Sorry, Mr. President, but that travel ban you've been pushing for has once again been blocked ––this time by a federal appeals court

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit upheld on Thursday the national injunction currently blocking the ban. According to Buzzfeed News, a 10-3 majority held that while President Trump does have power to deny entry into the United States, his executive order "stands to cause irreparable harm to individuals across the nation."

The travel ban, which is part of President Trump's second executive order, would halt immigration from Iran, LIbya Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen for 90 days. During this time, the Trump administration would review current immigration policies.

The Fourth Circuit held that, in reality, the ban is a Muslim ban, which violates the Constitution's Establishment Clause. The Establishment Clause prohibits the government from favoring or disfavoring a particular religion.

In the 200-something page court document released by the Fourth Circuit, Chief U.S. Circuit Judge Roger Gregory described the order as something that "drips with religious intolerance, animus, and discrimination."

The battle isn't over yet, though. The administration plans to seek review of the Fourth Circuit's decision through the U.S. Supreme Court.

17 Things Only People Who've Studied Abroad in London Understand

It’s safe to say that studying abroad is an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity that has the potential to become your best semester of college. Whether you just got back from your time globetrotting or it has been over a year since your passport was a weekly essential, calling another country home is an amazing experience that isn’t easy to get over.

Although everyone has a soft spot for where they studied abroad, London is a perennial favorite of college students, and there is truly nothing like immersing yourself in one of the world’s most historical, diverse hot spots. From towing around an Oyster card to knowing which side of the escalator to go on, here are 17 things that only people who studied abroad in London understand.

1. Walking past Big Ben never getting old

You might roll your eyes about having to navigate the crowds of tourists around Westminster, but you can’t help but feel thrilled to walk by *the* London landmark so casually.

2. Knowing that there is a huge difference between Tesco and Sainsbury’s

Your preferred London grocery store usually comes down to geographical closeness (but Tesco is obviously better, right?).

3. Speaking of food shopping, you can’t go to the store without a tote bag

No one can be bothered to pay for plastic bags.

4. Recognizing people at your local Tube station

It could be a conductor or a fellow commuter, but if you’re at the station around the same time every day, you’re sure to have your own public transport squad.

5. Memorizing a few of your go-to Tube routes by heart

Soon other commuters ask you if a train is going to a certain stop, and you feel like an official Londoner.

6. Internally freaking out when you take a new Tube line

Ending up on the Bakerloo line was like an out-of-body experience for me.

7. Weekends mean visits to the markets

How does Borough Market for breakfast and Camden Market for lunch sound?

8. Congratulating yourself for getting a seat on the Piccadilly line

London’s most touristy train route during rush hour is a game of every man for himself.

9. Knowing whether you prefer Caffe Nero or Costa Coffee

Forget Starbucks—give me Costa Coffee’s holiday drinks anytime.

10. Understanding that nothing comes between London and celebrating Christmas

Come November 1, expect bright lights and seasonal music everywhere you look.

11. Falling in love with the wonder that is British TV

Whether you loved the serious dramas on BBC or the kooky reality shows of ITV, something quintessentially English definitely captured your heart when you were abroad.

12. The quotes on the Service Information boards making your day

Some are serious and some are hilarious, but it’s a treat to walk to your station every morning and see what the staff comes up with that day.

13. Being able to go anywhere thanks to the Tube

Don’t forget taking the bus and London’s walkability, too. Find me a more navigable city than London—I’ll wait.

14. Remembering every now and then just how historical the city is

Maybe it hits you the first time you visit Buckingham Palace or when you see a blue plaque on a famous author’s old home, but spending enough time in London will teach you just how young America is.

15. Starting to use British terms like “lift” and “queue”

When you return home and keep using these words without realizing it, your family needs to remind you that you’re American.

16. Pub culture ruining you for American bars

You mean I can’t get a plate of fish and chips to go with my drink back home?

17. That dawning moment when you realize you’re completely enamored with this city

Walk along the River Thames as the sun is setting or wander down the cobblestoned street of a mews alley. Sit in Kensington Gardens or Hyde Park on a rare sunny day. Be dazzled by the magical street performers in Covent Garden. Let it sink in that one of the world’s greatest cities is yours for the taking.

Niall Horan Says He Would Drop Everything He's Doing for a One Direction Reunion

From the moment One Direction started to breakup, our teenage hearts began holding onto the hope that the band would one day reunite as the fivesome we all knew and loved. And apparently one member of 1D has held onto that very same hope.

Billboard

That's right, in a new interview with BillBoard, Niall Horan shared that he too hopes a 1D reunion will happen someday ––and someday soon (Well, sooner than later, that is.).

“I told my managers from the start: When One Direction comes knocking, fook what I’m doing," Horan said in his Billboard interview. "I don’t give a shit if I sold out arenas or won Grammys. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for that.” He confirmed that he and the other 1D members still talk regularly, but have yet to have a conversation about how long it will be until they reunite.

Horan said he remains friends with all his bandmates, seeing Louis Tomlinson regularly and just recently shopping for Liam Payne's newborn son, Bear. He thinks that even 1D's most outspoken member, Zayn Malik, will be back on board for a reunion when the time comes. “We’ll always have mutual respect. When we get back to the band, he’ll be at the forefront again," Horan said.

Though the future is now bright for Directioners everywhere, the band has no concrete plans for the actual reunion at all.

“When it will be, I don’t know," Horan said. "I prefer not to do it after I’m 40. I’d prefer the next few years.”

Same, Niall. Same.

With their intense personalities and tightly packed schedule, overachievers can sometimes come across as intimidating. But overachievers make some of the best lovers. Check out these reasons why you should totally date the overachieving girl!

1. She knows what she wants.

Over-achievers are goal driven and are always clear about what they want. She chose you as her SO, so that says a lot!

2. She has an incredible work ethic.

You’ll be mesmerized by the way she can complete a 10-page paper, make her volunteer shift at the hospital, and still meet you for dinner all in the same day.

3. She’s super outgoing.

Her driven personality makes her amazing at making friends and connections, and you’ll love being introduced to her large networking circle.

4. She understands how stressful life can get.

Her crazy schedule means she has experience dealing with stress, and this makes her the perfect support system for her SO.

5. She’s always on time.

Over-achievers can’t afford to be late when they have somewhere to be every hour. Rest assured she’ll never be late to spend time with you. Ever.

6. She has high standards.

She prides herself in having high standards for herself and those around her and never compromises them for anything.

7. She’ll always find something for the two of you to do.

Over-achievers love to stay busy and active, so she’ll always come up with creative date ideas for the two of you to enjoy.

8. She’s going places.

This girl has big dreams and the work ethic to take her there. In a couple of years she’ll totally be the Chief of Surgery or a District Attorney- and what’s hotter than success?

9. She'll always bring you coffee.

Over-achievers depend on coffee, so she’ll always be willing to pick you up a cup when she's getting her hourly fix. Plus, she’s probably amazing at making iced mochas.

10. She’s inspiring.

You will be in awe of hardworking personality, big aspirations, and positivity and this will inspire you to be the best you can be.

11. She’ll encourage you to pursue your own goals.

She wants you to be just as successful in your own professional life as she is and she will do everything in her power to see this happen.

12. She has no time for drama.

Over-achievers have a very tight schedule, so she has no time for any unnecessary drama that may interfere with this. You can be sure your relationship will be drama-free.

13. She’ll always make you proud.

With her long list of awards and accomplishments, this girl will make you proud to call her your “bae”.

14. She’s not afraid to make plans for the future.

Over-achievers love to plan for things years in advance, so she won’t be scared to talk about the future and make commitments. Over-achievers are in it for the long haul.

15. She’s extremely organized.

With her many commitments and deadlines, the over-achiever can’t afford to be disorganized. You’ll love that she’ll enjoy helping you organize your own life, too.

16. She’ll help you create the perfect resume.

Chances are she’s had years of experiencing creating the perfect resume for every situation, and she’ll be glad to impart her knowledge on you.

17. She’s extremely independent.

Just because she’s in a relationship, it doesn’t mean she’s going to give up her own independence. Better yet, the over-achiever supports and encourages her SO to cultivate their own independence- after all, you’re both still separate people.

18. She's confident in her abilities.

She never lets anyone tell her what she can and cannot do and she never second guesses herself. Her confidence is one of her best qualities.

19. She knows how to prioritize.

Prioritizing is the key to balancing her crazy schedule. But, no matter how busy life may be, the over-achieving girl always makes time for her significant other.

Don’t be too intimidated to date the over-achieving girl! Her strong work ethic and goal-driven mind makes her an amazing significant other. And who knows, maybe some of her success will rub off on you!

Donald Trump Shoved the Prime Minister of Montenegro During a NATO Meeting

A video from President Donald Trump’s first official meeting with NATO appears to show Trump shoving Dusko Markovic, the prime minister of Montegnegro, out of his way, according to CNN.

The video, which surfaced hours after the incident occurred, shows Trump and other world leaders gathering around for a group photo, enjoying small talk and walking towards photographers. However, moments before the cameras begin flashing, Trump decides to make his way to the front of the group—by grabbing Markovic’s shoulder and pushing him aside, according to The Washington Post.

In the video, Trump doesn't even look Markovic as he pushes past him. Markovic plays along politely, smiling while patting President Trump on his back. Trump never apologizes, simply fixing his coat and beginning another conversation once he gets to the front.

After the video was posted, White House press secretary Sean Spicer told reporters the spots were "predetermined," and that Trump "was not trying to get a better position, but rather he was heading for the position reserved for him," according to The Washington Post.

Markovic was asked about the apparent shove, and graciously said, “This was an inoffensive situation. I do not see it in any other way."

Unfortunately, it wasn't the spot Trump was trying to reach that was the problem, but rather his means to get there. This incident should come as no surprise, and really it's just another thing to add to the president's laundry list of unprofessional and un-presidential acts.
