Josh Murray Is Turning to Steve Harvey for Dating Advice

Desperate times call for desperate measures. Former Bachelorette winner Josh Murray is apparently willing to try anything to salvage his love life, including turning to none other than Steve Harvey for advice. (I’m just as confused as you are.)

Josh has been put on blast for the way he acts in relationships, and it’s ruining his chances to find love. Both of his Bachelor franchise exes, Andi Dorfman and Amanda Stanton, have said Murray is controlling and verbally abusive in relationships. No wonder he’s struggling to find Mrs. Right.

Not to fear, Steve Harvey is here to help. On Tuesday's episode of The Steve Harvey Show, Josh claimed he hasn’t done anything wrong. “That’s what’s tough to hear all the time,” Murray told Harvey. “In this relationship I definitely take fault for continuing something and not being happy when I know I should walk away. And I feel like people can relate in any situation—you’re in something that you don’t want to be in, it ends up just not being very good…but I don’t like airing my dirty laundry and I don’t like talking bad about other people and ruining their lives. But unfortunately, that’s happened with mine and it’s very frustrating.”

Murray went on to say that he feels “hopeless” and that people are “already judging me based on what others are saying.”

That's where Steve comes in. After all, he knows what it’s like to be at the center of internet backlash. (Hello, Miss Universe.) “I’m going to help you out, because I’ve been on that end of it man, I’ve been ate up on the internet before,” Harvey said.

His plan? Best I can tell, Steve is going to film Josh on a date and observe his techniques. Of course, if the woman Josh goes on a date with already knows about his past relationships, this might be over before it even begins.

Rompers for Men Are Officially a Thing & The Internet Is Confused

When a group of friends got together one night, they started talking about the lack of clothing options that exist for men... and a Kickstarter called RompHim was born! RompHim carries rompers designed specifically for men, devised for summer activities like concerts, pool parties, beach days, etc. "Turn heads and break hearts when you take your RompHim for a spin. Is it a romper specifically designed for men? Sure, but it's also so much more," the Kickstarter page reads.

And we're live - our Kickstarter is up and running. http://bit.ly/RompHimGram

4 Types of Difficult People You Will Probably Work With & How to Deal

$

Whether you’re working a part-time job to pay the bills or you’ve landed your dream gig, the people you work with can make a massive impact on your job experience. Even if you're lucky enough to have a great work fam, difficult people will always eventually pop up. Dr. Tim Jordan, developmental and behavioral pediatrician, and Heather R. Huhman, founder and president of Come Recommended -- a content marketing company for job search and human resources technologies -- weigh in on what to do when dealing with difficult people at work. Here's how collegietes and recent grads have handled difficult co-workers, and how you can handle them (with class) too.

1. The know-it-all

There’s a learning curve for anyone who is starting a new position. Some of that learning comes from trial and error or instructions from your supervisor. Other times, a co-worker will step in and teach you the ropes. This is not the case with the workplace know-it-all. This is the person who feels entitled to tell you how to do your job or spew out info you haven’t asked for. Elizabeth Reeve, a senior at Wells College, has had firsthand experience with a know-it-all during her internship at Johns Hopkins University. “I had a co-worker that was about five years older than I was and she had a similar position to the internship at her grad school,” Elizabeth said. “She constantly told everyone what to do, how to deal with their students, and gave unsolicited advice about how we should do our job.”

DeTemple's advice is to not let the other persons eagerness to be right allow you to stoop to their level. "I've found the best way to deal with this type of personality is to keep a calm head," she says. "Stick to the facts, show proof to back up your case, and if it doesn't affect your customers or the ability to do your job well, sometimes it's best to just move on." While working with a know-it-all can be annoying, it might be a better use of your time to let it go and not take the other person too seriously.

2. The favorite-player

This type of co-worker might be harder to spot at first. This is the person in the office who always gives the fun assignments to one specific person, and not because he or she is particularly good at their job. It’s one thing to reward people for the good work they do, but playing favorites does not help office morale at all. Even if this favoritism is deemed justified, it still makes work more of a challenge than a collaborative effort. Elizabeth has also had to deal with this type of co-worker. “This co-worker made it her mission to make sure that everyone knew who her favorite people were – and who wasn’t,” Elizabeth says. “I wasn’t on her favorite list so she was especially rude to me all the time and she made sure that I knew she was giving me the silent treatment.” Eliabeth dealt with this in two ways. First, she just ignored the petty actions of her colleague. The second thing she did was pay more attention to her work than whatever her co-worker was doing. “I just focused on myself and didn’t pay any mind to her,” Eliabeth says. “Eventually our real boss took notice of her antics and actually told her to chill out more than once.” You don’t have to be everyone’s favorite to get your work done.

DeTemple gives similar advice noting not to jump to confrontation as your first action. "Confrontation can easily cause you to look bad, so take some time to think about the situation," she says. "Then, consider if their difficulties are worth addressing or if maybe you overreacted in the moment." Once you decide that you do want to address the situation DeTemple suggestes talking with the person directly. "If you do feel they need to be addressed, calmly explain to the person what they’re doing that frustrates you or is making your job more difficult." This way the person knows how you feel. If the other person doesn't know how you feel you can't expect their nature or personality to change.

3. The slacker

Being a hard worker has its benefits and its drawbacks. One drawback is that slackers seem more obvious to you. Slackers don’t just slow down their own work, but they can indirectly slow down yours as well. Ashely Kuinlan a senior at Penn State University, decided to take control of her situation at work when a slacker messed up the workflow. “I was working at a camp, and they had another counselor work with my brother and me,” she says. “She wasn’t needed and even worse, she was acting like one of the kids.” So how did Ashely deal with it? She spread out the workload. Instead of placing tons of responsibility on her new co-worker or letting her slack off with no work, Ashely decided to delegate a few select tasks. "I just gave her a few things to do and basically had her working as a runner to get things," she says. This kept her co-worker from becoming one of the campers.

4. The unprofessional

While being laid back at work is one thing, making comments that can be construed as offensive or uncomfortable can actually throw off an office environment. Dealing with this type of co-worker may require more strong will than dealing with others. DeTemple has personally experienced this kind of colleagues multiple times throughout her career. At age 15, she had a co-worker twice her age daily made lewd comments. "At such a young age, I knew it was wrong, but was unsure of how to handle the situation," she says. After going to her boss, she received a "boys will be boys" speech and was sent on her way. It wasn't until after a scary incident where the man followed DeTemple home that changes were made. "I decided it was time to go directly to headquarters," she says. "They forced my boss to fire the man -- neither were happy about the situation, to say the least." DeTemple followed every step in the unwritten rule book of dealing with difficult co-workers and felt like nobody had her back. She did, however, learn something vital saying, "I learned a very important lesson: no career or salary is worth you being harmed, physically or emotionally." Period.

Bonus: That one co-worker who just annoys you

This could be any person that you work with. You might not even know why you dislike them or can't seem to warm up to him or her. This is where Dr.Tim Jordan says you should look within. "There's always a reason why people act the way they do, and there is always a reason why we react to people the way that we do," he says. "Think of the person you don't get along with and fill in the blank: what I see in them ____ is what I also see in me _____." You might be having trouble getting along with someone because they mirror something you don't like about yourself. It can be easier to criticize other people rather than yourself. Dr. Jordan gives a personal example explaining his experience with dealing with cocky people. "I used to get pissed off at assertive guys," he says. "I realized that's because I wasn't being assertive enough in my own personal life." You can be your own problem and your own solution. Maybe a difficult co-worker doesn't fit into one of these personalities, but you can still use the mirror tool to see if the problem actually lies with you. Dr. Jordan notes how important it is to focus on yourself first when dealing with difficult people at work. "I want people to take responsibility for their reaction to those personalities," he says. "You are in charge of your response and your feelings." You can't change other people, but you can change how you react or respond to the situation.

No matter the personality you're dealing with at the office, there are a few things you should do before taking action. First, assess the situation and decide if the problem is something you want to take to your manager or something you want to deal with on your own. Also, consider if this is just an example of "mirroring." The answer to every situation won't always be the same meaning you might just have to ignore some people and report others. Trust your gut when it comes to the unprofessional co-worker, even if your supervisor isn't being helpful. Know that in the end, you can only control so much, one of which is how you feel and react to the situation. Be sure to do so with class and a level head.

Stephanie Shepard has been working with Kim Kardashian since 2013 as the celebrity's personal assistant, and was just recently promoted to COO of Kardashian West Brands. In the four years Stephanie has worked for the Kardashian-Jenner clan, she has traveled with them on all of their vacations, has worked out with the sister trio, and has even seen Kanye West's comedic side. However, the perks of being an A-lister's assistant can sometimes be outweighed by the lack of sleep and tremendous amount of work required for the job.

Being Kim Kardashian's right-hand woman comes with its own set of responsibilities like doing laundry, booking all of Kim's traveling arrangments, and even escorting Kim home after the robbery in Paris. But the biggest task Stephanie has ever had to tackle was Kim and Kanye's wedding. Even though Kim and Kanye hired a wedding planner, Stephanie was in charge of a lot of the logistics, which basically meant there was no way she would be enjoying herself at one of the most famous celebrity weddings of the year.

In an interview with Refinery29 she admits, " I didn't even get to watch the ceremony because I was also filming—I often producer-cam the more personal moments for the show, when they don't want full-on cameras around—so I was filming everyone getting ready. And then Caitlyn lost her suit, so I had to locate it; all the girls are getting ready, we're getting Kim together, we’re in this castle; Kanye is down rearranging the floral arrangements and all this stuff, all while I’m trying to film. I was in Adidas sweatpants and a t-shirt and hadn’t showered that day! And then I walked her down to the elevator so she could walk down that really long stone aisle, and then I ran back up and started filming her from the roof! That was the money shot for the show. Meanwhile, there was some security guy yelling at me, 'You can't film here!'"

As if that wasn't stressful enough, there's more to the story. "I was still relatively new back then. I remember just not sleeping that whole week, and then I came home and I got pulled over on Hollywood Boulevard and I just started crying to the police officer, like, 'Please, I'm just exhausted, I gotta go home; you don’t understand!' Truly. I went to bed at, like, 5 in the afternoon and woke up the next day at, like, 11 a.m. But it was all worth it, because it was the most beautiful day." So the job has perks, but they definitely come at a price. Still, Stephanie loves the gig and has become a close friend of the Kardashian-Jenner family.

15 Things Only Small Town Girls With Big City Dreams Understand

Girls from small towns know all too well the pitfalls of being raised in such a limiting environment. With very little room to grow and everybody knowing your private business, it's no wonder so many dream of the big city. You believe there's more to life than what's being offered to you currently. Although you appreciated growing up in a tight-knit community, you've outgrown it and are ready to dive head first into big city life.

1. You long to be in a place where nobody knows you, your family or your entire life story

Gone through a breakup? Fought with your dad? Don't worry, everybody and their mother will know about it.

2. Your town has very limited sources of news and entertainment

One very small newspaper, zero fancy magazines and a tiny movie theater in your town, if you're lucky.

3. High school football games are the most exciting event you'll find on a Friday night

Not into sports? You're outta luck in a small town, but not in the big city.

4. You've experienced such intense boredom that it has made you want to scream

This has happened maybe once. Or twice. Okay, five times tops.

5. You're absolutely mystified by the concept of places that don't have a curfew

You're too used to living in a town that shuts down early at night because there's simply nothing to do. People never seem to sleep in big cities, and you dream of staying out late with loads of options in front of you.

6. You both resent and love the fact that jobs are highly limited in a small town

There's no hometown job available in your foreseeable future. Cities seem to be brimming with life, glamor and opportunity. What's not to love about that?

7. The museums, theaters and shops available to you in a city environment totally trump your town's community playhouse any day of the week

Enough culture and fashion to last you a lifetime? Yes please.

8. You'll never have to worry about being judged for the type of car you drive or dealing with overly aggressive drivers

You'd prefer to walk or take the train than worry about things like car insurance or gas.

9. The idea of walking to work appeals to you more than anything else

Getting fit on your way to and from work means that a gym membership may not be needed.

10. Small town values are killing you slowly

You feel like you're suffocating within the narrow views the majority of your town holds. You can't wait to be surrounded by people from all walks of life with views and opinions different from your own.

11. The dating pool is much larger in a big city

After all, the larger the pond, the more fish you'll find.

12. You're not particularly outdoorsy, which bodes well for city living

Camping not your thing? Well, you certainly don't need to be one with nature to appreciate tall buildings and never-ending skyscrapers.

13. City life means no more small town drama

It simply doesn't exist.

14. You can create your own life or adopt a new identity in a big city

In a small town, you're practically defined by the family you come from and the traditional expectations people hold.

15. If you were asked to pick up and move to the big city within a day, you'd totally do it

Don't think, just do it.

Taylor Swift Has Reportedly Secretly Been Dating British Actor Joe Alwyn

Ever since Taylor Swift's very public relationship with Tom Hiddleston ended last fall, the singer has largely remained out of the spotlight - that is until now.

The Sun reports that Taylor has been secretly dating up-and-coming 26-year-old British actor Joe Alwyn. According to the British tabloid, the two have been seeing each other for months now, and Tay often goes out in wigs with her new beau to keep her identity under wraps - a sly AF but also probably entirely necessary move. She's apparently even been renting an house somewhere in North London in order to spend time with him.

An anonymous source (so take this as you will) told The Sun, "Taylor and Joe are the real deal, this is a very serious relationship. But after what happened with Tom Hiddleston, they were determined to keep it quiet."

In case you've never heard of him, Alwyn is best known for his role in last year's movie Billy Lynn's Halftime Walk. People reports that he also just wrapped up shooting an upcoming film alongside Emma Stone, who also happens to be a BFF of Taylor's. Coincidence? Maybe not.

While the actor seems to be rather social media shy, from what we can tell from photos, they'd make for a super cute couple - and considering how high-profile her relationships with exes Calvin Harris and Tom Hiddleston were, keeping things under the radar might be jsut what she needs right now.

This Wisconsin Lawmaker Introduced a Bill That Would Legally Make 'Stealthing' Sexual Assault

ICYMI, "stealthing," or secretly removing a condom without the consent of your partner, has been on the rise recently. Luckily, lawmakers in two states are already working to get "stealthing" legally classified as what it actually is: sexual assault.

NBC News reports that Rep. Melissa Sargent of Wisconsin proposed bill LRB3346 earlier this month, which explicitly states that if, "an actor removes a sexually protective device such as a condom before or during sexual intercourse or other sexual contact without his or her partner's permission, there has been no valid consent to that sexual act."

Sargent told NBC News that since proposing the legislation, she's had multiple college students from the University of Wisconsin, Madison (which is part of her district), reach out to her to tell their stories about their experiences as victims of stealthing.

"This behavior is predatory and disturbing, and people should know we not only find it reprehensible, but that we won't tolerate it," she told NBC. "Ignoring it is simply not an option."

Other states are clearly already taking note (as they should be): the Los Angeles Times reports that California assemblywoman Cristina Garcia introduced a similar bill in her state, which would also make removing or tampering with a condom during sex a form of rape.

Previously, there was no legislation that specifically covered this type of sexual assault - leaving many victims especially confused and unsure about what happened to them and what they could do about it. Thankfully, these new laws send a clear message that stealthing isn't acceptable and won't be tolerated.

5 Reasons Why You Should Get A Part-Time Job In High School

$
0
0

If you’re in high school, chances are, it’s really hard to be able to find a part-time job. Only a few places hire people under the age of 18, or even if you are 18, it’s hard being considered for a job since you’re still so young an inexperienced. Although, depending on where you live, that factor can change. For example, in cities like Miami, you’re lucky if you get a gig at Claire’s. However, in other places, that may not be the case. Either way, doing some job searches and browsing job opportunities in LinkedIn can take you a long way.

Trying to find and land a job is only the beginning. Working part-time while in school may be difficult, but boy do the benefits speak for themselves.

1. The money (obviously)

Okay, so you’re probably hella’ stressed over homework and tests, but the best stress reliever known to man is making it rain. When you have a part-time job in high school, you get all this money and all the different ways to spend it (Viewer beware: Buyer’s remorse is a real thing, so be careful when maxing out your debit card.)

Although it’s nice to spend all your money on a shopping spree, saving that money for something more important is a better feeling. Imagine driving a car that’s yours, or paying and going through college completely on your own without any help. Jasmine Perez, a senior at University of Miami, has been working since she was in high school. Since then, jasmine has learned that working and earning your own money teaches you responsibility and independency.

“I bought a used car when I was 18, that was my car that I used my own money for,” Jasmine says with pride. “My keys were mine. Nobody could take my car away, because I worked for years to pay for it.”

The ability to buy things yourself will give you a new sense of independence.

2. It teaches you responsibility

When getting a job, your parents are going to expect you to help around the house a bit more. That means paying the five-letter word that everyone fears: BILLS. Worry not, your parents probably won’t make you pay rent or something like that. However, paying for your cell phone or other amenities like your music app subscription or incoming college textbooks and fees may be an option.

Brandon Lee, a student at Nova Southeastern University, also believes that high schoolers should get part-time jobs.

“I grew up in a large family and my parents don’t make a lot, so it was the only way for me to make money for the things I wanted,” Brandon says. “It teaches discipline and allows for younger people to appreciate what it’s like to earn money."

No matter how old you are, making your own money is one of the best feelings in life.

3. Two words: Resume builder

Sure, it may be hard actually finding a job at the time, but once you do, BOOM! Work experience. That is catnip to future employers, especially if they see you worked part-time while still going to school.

It shows responsibility and maturity no matter what age you are. Not only can you say you had experience working, but you can also make some meaningful connections that can later turn into recommendation letters for college or future job opportunities.

LinkedIn is like a professional Facebook. Potential employers can see your profile and look through your work experience and even accomplishments in school. Not only can employers look at your profile, but LinkedIn also matches you with job openings around your area that you’ll be qualified for! If you need any help setting your profile up, or even making your profile more tailored to your individual adroitness.

4. You learn valuable time management skills

You have a final on Monday and you’re working all day on Sunday. What do you do? You barely have enough time to study once you get home from work, and when you do get home you doubt you’ll want to study. All you want to do after a long day is shower and knock out. How could this situation be avoided? Time management, girlfriend.

You need to learn how to schedule and place importance on certain things when you’re working while going to school. In college, this task is much easier because you can choose the amount of course load each semester. But in high school you’re stuck with the same number of classes, and dropping one of them is not an option.

Emily Schmidt, a freshman at Stanford University, recalls her experience while working at Chick-fil-A throughout much of her time in high school. “Some nights, I got very little sleep," Emily says. "But in the long run, it was worth it.” It's all part of the learning experience.

5. It improves your “people skills”

Ah yes, learning how to hate the human race early on. There is nothing worse than having people wait outside the place you’re working at 30 minutes before you guys actually open. THEN they will have the audacity to look at you and tap on their watch. Then when they come in, they make your life a living hell.

Unfortunately, that’s how the world works. You can be confronted with some nasty characters, and facing them head-on at a young age can open your eyes to how the real world will treat you. Of course, not everyone is out to get you, but you can find yourself in messy situations at times; like why you don’t serve crackers and cheese when you work at a jewelry store (True story.).

So sure, you’re going to want to rip your hair out, but I’m not going to be a Debbie Downer. Customer service and interpersonal skills are KEY in finding future jobs. Handling tough situations will help you grow not only in maturity, but help you hone some patience. It’s important to treat every negative situation as a learning experience. You need to make sure you don’t let yourself give up easily just because you had a bad day at work. Days like these will make you a stronger person and a better asset for future employers.

Although high school already has its own set of problems, going through them as well as working part-time will make you a stronger person. However, don’t go crazy about your job. Sure, it’s important to do well, but if you notice your grades are slipping, always remember school comes first. Don’t kill yourself over working yourself and exerting too much energy, you’re going to need your mental health for college.

24 Things We Consider To Be Romantic That Really Aren't

Ask any college student, and they’ll tell you the relationship culture during these four years is unlike any other. It’s nothing like high school and won’t be anything like the real world once we graduate. It’s normal for people to be seeing multiple partners at once and trying to figure out where you stand with someone is nearly impossible. It’s a pretty confusing time, and it causes us to appreciate even the smallest amount of attention from those we consider our significant others—like these 24 things we consider romantic that really aren't.

1. When they swipe right

Oh my gosh, do you think I'm pretty?!

2. When they don’t take two hours to text back

Clearly I'm a priority.

3. When they text you first

Guess you were thinking about me, huh?

4. When they’ll actually call you on the phone

Whoa, have we reached this sophisticated level of communication?

5. When they walk to your door instead of texting “here”

Mind blown.

6. When they remember to wish you luck on important days

The two seconds it took you to send that text clearly demonstrate your commitment.

7. When they say good morning

Am I the first thing you think of when you wake up?!

8. When they pay for a cheap drink

You shouldn't have!

9. When they take you on a date in public

You know people can actually see us together here, right?

10. When they don’t text other people while you’re together

Sorry, other girls, you'll have to wait.

11. When they let you drink their alcohol

How nice of you to offer your $11 handle of vodka.

12. When they like your Instagram

Like what you see?

13. When you’re featured on their Instagram

This is an honor.

14. When they’ll kiss you on campus

Extra points if they hold your hand on the way to class.

15. When they let you borrow their clothes

Thanks for making my walk of shame a little less miserable.

16. When they’ll clean their room for you

You spoil me.

17. When their friends actually know who you are

You must talk about me all the time.

18. When their parents actually know who you are

I'm so in.

19. When they’ll hold your legs during a keg stand

Thanks for supporting my interests.

20. When they’ll come over after a night out

Especially if you stayed in.

21. When they don’t fall asleep on you when you try to meet up

You're so reliable.

22. When they’ll allow you to be their beer pong partner

Of course I'll play with you!

23. When they’ll stop talking to another girl to greet you

Can I steal him for a second?

24. When they ask you anything about your life besides if you’re going out tonight

Hopelessly devoted to you.

Truly.

Bella Thorne Doesn't Care If You Hate Her

$

0

Whether you love or hate Bella Thorne, well, first of all, she doesn't care. Second, it would be hard not to admire her career. After a few appearances on TV in the early 2000s, the now-19-year-old actress rose to fame as CeCe Jones on Disney Channel's Shake It Up, alongside Zendaya. Since then, she has starred in a slew of movies, released music and become a fashion icon. But beyond all of her accomplishments, Bella has gathered a loyal fanbase for a reason that's almost cooler: simply being herself. She came out as bi on Twitter without making it a big deal (because it isn't), thereby increasing visibility for the LGBTQ+ community, and routinely snapchats her beauty fails. Celebrities, they're just like us, etc., etc.

"Be yourself, don’t apologize for it."

Bella recently partnered up with fitness retailer SIX:02 on their Thank You campaign and it could not be a better fit for her. "It is 'thank you,' and it’s 'thank you to the haters for motivating me every day,' but that’s not really the point of the campaign," Bella says. "The point is just like 'thank you' to every single girl that’s out there being unapologetic, every single person in general that’s sticking up for somebody else that’s being themselves, or just trying to spread that light that is, 'this is me,' you know, and inspiring other people to do that as well."

Bella knows all too well what it's like to feel pressure from others to be a certain way, but she is done compromising her identity to fit in a mold. "You know, I feel like everybody gets to a point in their life where they just look at the mirror and they’re like, 'who are you? I don’t like you,'" she explains. "I know who I am or at least I think I do, but that’s not who I’m showing, that’s not who I’m being, I’m not being true to myself. And I got to the point finally when I turned 18 and I was finally able to make my own decisions and say, 'hey, I’m going to be me on socials, I’m not going to let you tweet for me, I’m going to do it myself.' Now I’m just living with my own rules."

"I never thought growing up that I would… be doing what I’m doing right now."

Of course, being yourself unapologetically when you've lived in the spotlight as long as Bella has is easier said than done, but the star has developed some strategies, with a little help from friends and family. "Luckily my sister and her boyfriend, Justin, they’re just such positive happy hippie people that they inspire me every day to be more positive, to meditate more, to go out and get sunshine." But what about those times when a hater does get to her? "When somebody says something that kind of bugs me, I might bring it up," she says. "And I’m looking at myself and I’m like, 'wow, Bella, why are you letting this bug you right now? Be stronger than that.' But you can’t. You can only learn and change and grow, and the more you talk about it, the more you will grow, and the more comfortable you will be with it, so for me it’s like 'get it out, lay it on the table, there it is, now deal with it.'"

It's obvious from talking to Bella that she has been pretty hurt by others' expectations of what she should and shouldn't do, and what kind of person she ought to be, but she did what she had to do to protect herself: she turned her vulnerability into her greatest strength. That's why she has the haters to thank now, because they enabled her to do the wild shit she always wanted to—if you're going to get rude or threatening comments regardless of how you act, why not have a little fun in the process? "I got a call one time from my publicity team that was like 'so and so’s not going to give you a cover because you snapchat pooping on the toilet, and you’ve got to stop it or they’re not going to give you a cover,'" Bella tells me. "For a minute I’m sitting there and I’m just like 'wow, this is so fucked up,' like they’re literally saying that I can’t be me right now, and I’m just being funny, weird, quirky Bella and... everybody poops, that’s a [natural] thing. So you know what I did? I posted eight Snapchats right back to back, just showing me pooping, and I was like 'fuck you guys, I don’t want the cover anyway,' like I don’t want to be on your cover if this is what you’re trying to teach to people, to change, to be in this box, like that doesn’t fit my brand, that doesn’t fit what I’m trying to do—which is why SIX:02 works so well for me, because we are not putting anybody in a glass box, we’re trying to break down the walls and say, 'be unapologetic, be yourself, don’t apologize for it.'"

@BellaThorne has more haters to thank #ItsYourTime #ThankYouHaters #BellaThorne

A post shared by SIX:02 (@six02) on

Like all of us, Bella has struggled to get to where she is, which makes her even prouder of her work—with good reason. She teaches us that with the right dose of courage, resilience and determination, there's nothing you can't do. "I never thought growing up that I would… be doing what I’m doing right now," the actress says. "I never thought growing up being dyslexic, being told 'you’ll never do anything, you can’t get a desk job if you’re depending on it because you can’t read' to now reading three scripts a day, and writing a series and, you know, writing a short that I’ll be directing soon, and writing a blog that I’m going to be putting out. I never knew that writing was going to be such an outlet for me to make me feel better [...], and if I’m writing and I’m feeling better, then when I’m putting it out, most likely other people are going to read it and kind of feel better as well. Because we all feel the same shit [...], everybody’s the same at the end of the day."

"You want to look hot? Don’t look hot because this guy can be there, look hot because you’re like 'yeah, I want to feel myself today, girl.'"

Besides the Thank You campaign being an empowering platform for anyone who has had to deal with haters online or IRL, it also enables young girls in under-resourced communities to live up to their full potential. Part of the proceeds from an exclusive collection of SIX:02 hats and t-shirts benefit Step Up, a non-profit that organizes a series of educational programs, including mentorship, in several cities around the U.S. "With Step Up, it’s very helpful that we’re giving mentor mentality to girls that need somebody to talk to, that need somebody to say, 'hey, by the way, I have no idea what I’m doing,'" Bella says. "Because most of the time, I don’t know what I’m doing, they don’t know what they’re doing, nobody knows what they’re doing, so you know the more you can talk to somebody that’s older than you or that’s been through it, or that, you know, has an idea, the more you can come out and be your own person and do actually what you want to do in life, not because so and so tells you you have to do this [or that]."

Fashion girl Bella loves athleisure, which is yet another reason why her SIX:02 partnership is so perfect. The collective boasts a handpicked roster of super cool fitness brands, including Ivy Park, Fenty by Rihanna and Nike, but also some indie labels that deserve recognition, such as Koral and Lime & Vine. "For me, wearing athletic wear in real life and making a style of it is dope. Like I could go out in this," Bella gestures to her outfit. "Like, look at me, I’m literally wearing track pants, but instead I put some fishnets under it, I leave my shoelaces completely undone so that you’re like 'wow, she really doesn’t give a fuck, she didn’t even tie her shoes today.' And then I put this body chain to make it like a little bit more fierce. And I want to show some skin as well, but then I put a jacket on over because I’m like 'yo, I don’t want to look like this from every angle, you know?' Gotta cover this shit up. Definitely bring your jacket out everywhere you go." Yep, athleisure truly is a way of life.

3 scrunchies is mandatory. 1 for my hair, 2 for my pits. #happysaturday

A post shared by BELLA (@bellathorne) on

Whether people are fascinated by Bella's eye for fashion or her DGAF sense of humor, or they just love to hate her, they still follow her, and that's all that matters TBH. I mean, seriously, look at how many likes she gets on Insta—I suck at math, but that's, like, a thousand times more than my most liked picture of life ever (me, bitter?). "I’m so genuinely lucky that people, whether they’re hating or they’re loving me, either way they’re still following me," Bella tells me. "And even if you hate me, you’re seeing this positivity that I’m kind of spreading on all my social channels, especially my Twitter, where I’m like being out and talking about stuff, and even if you’re trying to hate yo, I know that inside, my positivity, it’s just growing that little flower in that heart of yours, I know it is." Can't fight the good vibes, friends.

Finally, Bella gave me some parting advice, and you're going to want to read it. "Do [things] for you, genuinely, do it for yourself, anything that you do," she advises. "You want to look hot? Don’t look hot because this guy can be there, look hot because you’re like 'yeah, I want to feel myself today, girl.'" Couldn't have said it better.

What Your Power Shoe Is, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

The fierce and fabulous Marilyn Monroe once said, “Give a girl the right shoes, and she can conquer the world.” We know you’re totally going to conquer the world, so now you just need the right shoes. Based on your zodiac sign, we’ve found the best pair for you!

Aquarius: Combat boots

Nothing says femme fatale like combat boots. The Aquarius woman isn’t interested in playing around. “I would take on the world in my Doc Martens!" says Ariel Vaisbort, a junior at Western University. "They’re badass and they make me feel like I can get shit done."

The Aquarius girl is unconcerned with what others think of her, wearing combat boots (like this pair of Doc Martens) like an expressive armor: tough and statement-making. We need a pair ASAP.

Pisces: Nude heels

A wise girl like you needs a nude heel. Being artistic, you need a shoe that isn’t going to mess with your beautifully curated outfit. Easygoing and versatile, the nude heel is the Pisces woman’s perfect power shoe.

Aries: Gladiator sandals

A bold personality like yours needs a bold shoe to match, and there are few shoes as daring as the gladiator sandal. You’ve got confidence to kill for and you like to take risks with your style. In a gladiator sandal (like this pair from Target), you’ll feel liberated and strong. It’s a shoe fit for a warrior, just like you!

Taurus: Sneakers

Practical and patient, the Taurus girl needs a shoe that will allow her to be comfortable and in control. She wants a shoe that she can run in and run the world in. Sneakers are all of that, plus they come in all sorts of different colors and designs, so the options are endless. We like this classic Adidas pair. Like they say, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.”

Gemini: Strappy heels

The Gemini woman is the epitome of sexy cool, so she needs a shoe that is on her level. The strappy heel is super on-trend right now. For the adventurous, irresistible and strong Gemini, these shoes are the Holy Grail.

Cancer: Oxfords

If there is anything to be said about your style, it’s that you like to be comfortable. But Cancer also happens to be one of the most romantic signs. Pair comfort with old-world romance and ta-da: oxfords. They’re flats so they’re easy to walk in, but they also make an outfit look polished and pulled together. Cancer ladies will love the ’50s charm of these brogues.

Leo: Wedges

You are laid-back yet productive, so a wedge is your power shoe. Typically more comfortable than straight-up heels, but more assertive than flats, the wedge is the perfect balance for you. And the best part is that there are a ton of different styles (we like these black booties by TOMS) to keep up with your ever-changing style.

Virgo: Ballet flats

Classy and comfy, ballet flats are the ideal shoe for the practical Virgo girl. Ballet flats are a stylish shoe that also allows you to get work done without pain. They look good, they feel good, and you can dress them up or down, so they go with pretty much everything. Whether you’re just going to class in jeans or to your internship in a skirt, your shoes will always be ready to rock, and so will you!

Related: How to Style Your Leggings, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Libra: Block heels

Block heels say sophisticated but not too formal, and practical but not boring. These shoes are refined, just like you. With your social spirit, you know how to work a room; block heels can keep up with all of your mingling without hurting your feet. You’ll be the classiest queen in the room.

Scorpio: Stilettos

It takes a dedicated woman to rock stilettos. Naturally, you’re that kind of person. Passionate and brave, if you can’t work some stilettos, then girl, we don’t know who can. Your wild heart and spontaneous spirit make you a dangerous woman, for sure. We can’t think of anything more powerful than that confidence.

Sagittarius: Mountain boots

As far as we’re concerned, these are the best shoes for world travel. The Sagittarius spirit is known to be a wandering one, so you need a shoe that can stand up to your globetrotting (or dreams thereof). The durability of mountain boots allows your spontaneous side to come out in full effect, and no matter where you go, you don’t have to worry about whether your shoes can handle it or not. If travel equals knowledge, and knowledge equals power, than mountain boots are undoubtedly your power shoe.

Capricorn: Black pumps

Capricorn women are productive AF, so you need a shoe that will make you look and feel both polished and efficient. Enter: black pumps (like this pair from Macy's). Since they’re black, they’ll go with anything, whether for work or play.

“The ‘click, click, click’ of heels makes me really happy,” Natalie Pistone, sophomore at Maryville University says. Plus, who doesn’t feel like a classy lady and a BO$$ in black heels?

You can rock classic-chic like Capricorn or ancient strength like Aries. Real talk, though, you can take the world by storm in any shoe. And if that’s not powerful, then we don’t know what is.

James Comey Has Receipts to Prove Trump Tried to Stop the FBI Investigation of Michael Flynn

FBI director James Comey reportedly has a memo proving that President Trump asked him to end his investigation into former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn's ties to Russia. The New York Times explains that the memo was written by Comey after a one-on-one meeting with Trump in February.

Many are questioning Trump's true motives after he abruptly fired Comey last Tuesday. The more Trump is questioned about why he fired Comey, the more confusing his answers become. CNN notes that Trump told NBC News that he fired Comey over the Russia investigation, while the White House originally said Comey was fired for mishandling the investigation into Hillary Clinton's emails. This memo brings further proof that Trump has tried to influence the federal investigation into Flynn and the Trump administration's relationship with Russia. After hearing about this memo, House Oversight Committee Republican Chairman Jason Chaffetz has requested that the FBI reveal all of its "memoranda, notes, summaries and recordings" of interactions between Trump and Comey.

So, why are we just hearing about this memo now? Comey allegedly kept detailed records of his conversations with the president, especially when Trump made attempts to influence the ongoing investigation. This is important because in court, an FBI agent's notes are considered credible evidence, the Times notes. Up until now, Comey chose to share the memo only with "senior FBI officials and close associates" to ensure that it would not affect the investigation.

In part of the memo read to a Times reporter by one of Comey's associates, we learn that Trump said to Comey, "I hope you can see your way clear to letting this go, to letting Flynn go... He is a good guy. I hope you can let this go."

The White House has denied that anything in the memo is true, claiming the president has never asked Comey to abandon the investigation into Flynn.

There is currently no way to prove the conversation happened, other than the detailed notes Comey kept. However, If Trump's tweet about keeping "tapes" of the conversations between the two is true, it may give further evidence of what Trump said in those private moments.

Trump Told Grads During a Commencement Speech That He's Being Treated Worse Than Any Politician Ever

Amidst all the controversy about the firing of former FBI Director James Comey, President Trump has found a way to play the victim. Today, he gave a speech to the graduates of the United States Coast Guard Academy about fighting in the face of adversity, according to CNN.

The adversity he's supposedly facing? The media's treatment of him—in the past and during a series of scandals over the past couple of weeks. He said, "Look at the way I have been treated lately, especially by the media, no politician in history, and I say this with great surety, has been treated worse or more unfairly." He then called the media critics and naysayers who are getting in the way of his dreams.

He appeared to be responding to recent reports that he tried to stop Comey from investigating Michael Flynn, Trump's former national security adviser. According to a memo Comey wrote after a one-on-one meeting with the president, Trump told Comey, "I hope you can let this go," referring to the investigation of Flynn for his conversations with Russia prior to Trump's inauguration.

I guess this speech was meant to be inspirational, but all Trump is doing here is teaching our future Coast Guard ensigns to cry victim in the face of any adversity.

Some advice from the rest of that speech: "Don't back down and never stop doing what you know is right. Nothing worth doing ever, ever, ever came easy. And the more righteous your fight, the most opposition you will face."

Not sure what exactly is so righteous about blackmailing, spreading false information and subtweeting anyone who makes you a little mad. Fighting with the media does not make you look like a hero, Trump.

Cornell University Is Giving Joe Biden His Own Personal Ice Cream Flavor

While almost everyone can say they enjoy the cold, sweet taste of ice cream in the summer, no one seems to appreciate it more than former Vice President Joe Biden. According to The Hill, he confessed his overwhelming love for ice cream in May of last year, at the headquarters of Jeni’s Splendid Ice Cream in Ohio. “My name is Joe Biden, and I love ice cream," he said at the time. "You all think I'm kidding—I'm not. I eat more ice cream than three other people you'd like to be with, all at once.”

Now, that’s a LOT of ice cream.

He loves the sweet treat so much that Cornell University’s dessert parlor, the Cornell Dairy, is giving Biden his very own ice cream flavor ahead of Biden's Cornell convocation speech on May 27. The ice cream flavor will be none other than his classic favorite—chocolate chip. Who can say no to good ol’ fashioned chocolate chip?

Although the official name hasn't been announced yet, Cosmopolitan reports that the the top five candidates are Biden’s Chocolate Bites; Bits n’ Biden; Big Red, White & Biden; Not Your Average Joe’s Chocolate Chip; and Uncle Joe’s Chocolate Chip. Which one is your favorite?

No matter what the name is, we're sure that this flavor will be an absolute hit. And Deanna Simmons, the quality manager and academic programs coordinator for Cornell Dairy, told the Cornell Daily Sun that “if it gains momentum, we’ll make more.”

Maybe next they'll create a flavor in honor of Biden's bromance with former President Obama…We think it's our civic duty to keep this going.

10 DIY Succulent Crafts That Will Look Amazing In Your Dorm & On Instagram

$

Is your dorm feeling a bit drab these days? Kinda lifeless? Stuffy? Stale? Reminiscent of a concrete slab? Well, we’ve got the perfect solution for you: succulents. Succulents perk up any environment by adding some actual life to it. They can turn a space that feels confining into a space that breathes and feels welcoming and relaxing.

According to color psychology, the color green restores energy and relates to balance and harmony. It has even been shown to relax muscles and improve reading ability and creativity. With the cognitively demanding tasks and stressors that college brings, adding some green into the mix of your living space could be a great plan. And not to mention, it never hurts to have some little plant friends around to keep you company.

Luckily, no garden hoses, giant watering cans or drastic lifestyle changes are required in the process of raising your own succulents. And although the plants may be a bit picky, they’re easy to read and aren’t hesitant to let you know when they need some more water, fertilizer or sunlight.

According to Sproutabl, caring for succulents is a pretty low maintenance job. You just need a pot that drains (so your plants don’t drown), soil that’s made for succulents, at least four hours of sunlight each day and fertilizer (succulents are only fertilized once a month). You only need to water your succulents when their soil is completely dry, which could be once a week or biweekly. Maintenance is also super easy: you just need to keep an eye out for trimming leaves that aren’t looking too happy. But if you really aren’t into raising plants yourself, there’s always the option of buying fake ones (but don’t tell anyone we told you so!)

When deciding how to incorporate them into your room, the possibilities are endless—they can hang, they can sit, they can do it all! And for those of you who go to colleges that experience all four seasons in full, succulents can add a splash of summer and spring to the cold winter months.

Here are some cheap, easy succulent crafts you can make to add a dash of liveliness to your room:

1. Confetti succulent terrarium

If you’re drawn to whimsy and colors galore, this one’s for you.

2. Spray-painted succulents

Wait, so succulents don’t have to be just green? Color them to your heart’s desire with some spray paint.

3. DIY geometric terrarium

Some of the terrariums out there are surprisingly expensive, but you can make one yourself for cheap.

4. Succulents in tin can planters

Whether you’re feeling marble, polka dots, patterned pineapples or anything else, this craft can be modified however you like. For an organic feel, you could even keep the cans as they are.

5. Smiling succulent planter

Ugh, so precious. When you’re feeling down, just take a quick glance at this planter for a mood lift.

6. Hanging planters

This DIY is great for adding an indie twist, but make sure to put these where people won’t knock into them!

7. Leather and brass teardrop hanging planter

For a sleek, modern vibe, check out this one.

8. Mini spring succulent planters

These would look adorable on top of your dresser, desk or nightstand.

9. Aztec print succulent pots
