Graduation is the most bittersweet time of the year. You're so excited to start your adult life but also clinging to college because the real world is terrifying AF. North West Turning Her Time-Out into a Spa Day Is All of Us

Did any of us need any further proof that North West is basically the most fabulous toddler ever? From telling the paparazzi"no pictures, please," to dressing better than basically all of us, North clearly takes after her celeb fam - and the hilarious way she handled her time-out is even further proof.

Most of us probably remember the dreaded "time-out" - you do something wrong and spend an extended, unbearable amount of time staring at the same wall in your childhood home. It's just a shame that none of us thought of North's time-out hack: turning it into a relaxing spa day - seriously.

Kim Kardashian took to Twitter on Tuesday to share a LOL-worthy photo of what she found when she returned after putting North on a time-out. "That time North gets a time out &is a little too quiet...I go in her room 2check on her &she made her own spa &tells me she's chilling out," Kim captioned the photo she posted. Honestly, the picture of little North propped up on a pillow with a towel on her legs and a tissue covering her eyes is pretty much priceless.

Indeed, she looks pretty chill to me - and I'm not going to lie, with finals week right around the corner, this looks like a pretty decent way to cope with life's struggles. A bit ~extra~? Sure. Effective? Absolutely.

'Pretty Little Liars' Just Revealed SO Much, & Wow, My Brain Hurts

$

Raise your hand if Pretty Little Liars has ever confused you. Now multiply that confusion by a billion, and that was Tuesday night’s episode. You wanted answers, you got answers. But those answers really hurt my brain.

Sydney is working with A.D.

When Sydney pulled off her hood in front of Aria, she made it seem like she was A.D. But she’s really working with A.D. And she wants Aria to join their “winning team.”

Pastor Ted was Charlotte’s father

Mary and Ted dated when he was in college, and surprise: they had a kid together. That kid grew up to be Charlotte, though Ted only found out, um, now.

Lucas was Charles’ only friend as a child

Ted knew Charles from a camp for troubled boys, and it turns out, Lucas (Yes, THAT Lucas!) was Charles’ only friend. So Lucas has just never mentioned this? Okay, sure.

Alison was impregnated with Emily’s stolen eggs

This is a twist we all saw coming, but that didn’t make it any less shocking. A.D. stole Emily’s eggs and impregnated Ali with them when she was in Welby. I honestly don’t know how to feel.

Mary killed Jessica

This information came from Spencer’s dad, possibly the biggest liar in Pretty Little Liars history. But I guess we’re just supposed to trust him.

According to Peter, Mary wanted revenge against Jessica after she lied to her about Charles being alive. So she killed Jessica using Peter’s sleeping pills and buried her in the Hastings’ backyard in an attempt to frame Spence’s father, who refused to help Mary murder her sister. Get back to me when you’ve wrapped your head around that one.

Netflix Is Already Spilling Details About Season 2 of '13 Reasons Why'

Love it or hate it, Netflix's controversial 13 Reasons Why has officially been renewed for a second season - and Netflix isn't holding back when it comes to offering up details on what we can expect to happen following some serious cliffhangers in the last episode of season one.

On Tuesday night, Netflix teased a few of the things fans of the show can expect in the second season via Twitter, offering up five important details that already have us dying for season two's release.

From what we can tell, it's looking like we may be hearing even more characters' thoughts on what happened to Hannah (meaning possible new characters?!). While there will be a narrator, it won't be Hannah anymore - though the show's showrunner confirmed to Entertainment Weekly that Hannah will continue to be a part of the show in a major way.

As for Jessica, considering it looked like she was ready to open up to her dad at the end of season one, we're hoping, "trying to recover and return to normal life," means that she'll be seeking help - and that Bryce will therefore get what he deserves.

The most interesting part of the tweet, though, is that next season plans to tackle, "the way we raise boys up into men and the way we treat girls and women in our culture — and what we could do better in both cases." Since so few shows are willing to talk about rape culture and other tough gender issues, this is pretty major. If one thing is for sure, it's that 13 Reasons Why won't be shying away from handling some tough issues any time soon.

The Perfect Prom Dress Style, Based on Your Zodiac Sign

Prom season is upon us, and it’s totally normal to be stressing about what dress you should buy. We’ve heard so many stories about handfuls of people wearing the same prom dress, so to avoid that, find a dress that’s undeniably you. Check out our complete guide to your perfect prom dress style based on your zodiac sign. Trust us, it’s written in the stars.

Aquarius: Vibrant High-Low

Aquarius, you’re fun, original and smart, so your dress should be too. You never dress to impress others —you dress to impress yourself. Keep that in mind as you shop. This year, reach for a vibrant dress in a color that energizes you. Look for something with a simple neckline, and dress it up with a piece of statement jewelry.

Pisces: Bohemian Beauty

You’re definitely the bohemian of the group, and we love it. You love that style, but you make sure to keep it modern and fresh. Your prom dress should be elegant, but not necessarily formal. Crotched details and lace looks gorgeous for an elegant and earthy take on a prom gown.

Aries: Simple Gown

Aries, you’re a trendsetter. Your fashion choices tend to be low-key and comfortable, but you know how to mix-and-match and accessorize like nobody else. Your optimal dress should be simple, so you can add your personal touch when it comes to jewelry and makeup. Your power colors are shades of reds and pinks, so try on a gown in this year’s hottest color: wine.

Taurus: Glittery High Neck

You’re confident, but you don’t need to wear a sexy dress to show it. You’re a modest woman, so let that shine. You probably love bright colors, sparkles and eye-catching designs, so incorporate them into your prom dress. There’s never a shortage of gems or glitter on prom dresses, so this shouldn’t be too hard.

Gemini: Bright Two-Piece

You can rock literally anything, so don’t be afraid to try a bold new style this year. Sunny, bright colors look great on you, so try starting there. You love discovering new things and going on new adventures, so find a dress that’s one-of-a-kind. You’ll be the Belle of the ball.

Cancer: Lots of Lace

You’re a classic beauty. You love the look of old Hollywood gowns in shades of red, taupe, and ivory. You accentuate your curves and tailor your pieces to perfection. This prom season, opt for a flattering gown with lace and a unique neckline.

Leo: Bold Gown

You’re sexy and confident and you’re not afraid to show it. You know exactly how to rock everything you wear. You’re fearless, so try out a bold new style for prom this year. Play around with intricate patterns, cutouts, and lengths. This dress is a romper with a detachable full skirt. If anyone can rock it, it’s you.

Virgo: Draped and Feminine

You know how to look sexy without showing too much skin. You wear practical clothes and are energized by earth tones like olive, burgundy, and white. You love ladylike pieces, so try out a draped gown with a simple neckline. Dress it up with fabulous shoes and your favorite jewelry.

Libra: Silky Ball Gown

You know how to dress perfectly for every occasion, which means you’ll absolutely slay at prom. You’re calm and outdoorsy, and you’re not into bold or loud patterns. You are naturally drawn to cooler shades and neutrals, so incorporate that when you’re shopping.

Scorpio: Black is Back

Scorpio, you have a signature style and you stick to it. Your looks are always polished and streamlined, but you also have a bit of edginess to you. You gravitate toward flowy dresses that don’t exaggerate your figure. Black and other neutrals are your power colors.

Sagittarius: Floral Ball Gown

You love bright colors ––they bring out your fun and humorous personality. You’ve never seen a pattern that you didn’t like, but still like clothes with structure. So, this season, pick a trendy floral gown with a fitted bodice in your favorite colors. You’ll be glowing from the inside out!

Capricorn: Tea-Length Vintage

You love getting dressed up, so prom is easily one of your favorite times of year. You’re also a vintage fiend, so if you can, find a gorgeous vintage gown for prom this season. If not, find a new tea-length dress complete with romantic lace, off-the-shoulder sleeves.

Of course, you don’t have to follow these guidelines, pre-collegiettes. You’ll be glowing and gorgeous no matter what you wear. Happy prom season!

15 Awkward Moments Only Short Girls Will Relate To

$

Being 5’1 and 20 years old usually calls for a plethora of comments. Us short girls have been mistaken for 12-year-olds, pointed out at in amusement parks and even been called fun-size. But really though, we don’t think we’ve grown since fifth grade. Whatever happens, we need to embrace our shortness and all of the awkwardness that comes with it.

1. Having to stand on the countertops to reach the shelf.

2. Getting annoyed when yet another person says, “Oh wow, you’re really small.”

3. When you stand up after a lunch meeting and you see the shock on the person’s face because of your height.

4. Swimming. Only the top of your head pops out in the 5 ft section. The 6 feet section is a danger zone.

5. Sitting behind… well, anyone.

6. Concerts. NEVER buy pit tickets.

7. Can’t take the selfie because you’ll cut off everyone’s head.

8. Pants are the worst. They are always too long. Don’t worry because I know how to hem pants now.

9. Walking next to a tall person. Their strides are so long, you have to run beside them.

10. Dating anyone over 6 feet. It’s like dating a giant. Or maybe it’s like dating a midget… never thought of it like that.

11. You can turn a maxi skirt into a maxi dress easily.

12. You’re always adjusting the car seat.

13. People always point out your height at amusement parks. “Hey, do you even reach the height requirement.” Ha. ha. Good one.

14. Your feet never touch the ground when you’re sitting.

15. Grocery stores are not made for us. Somehow, everything you need is on the top shelf.

It’s okay, we can wear heels. HA.

5 Signs Your Love is Being Taken for Granted

$

One of the biggest upsides of being in a relationship is having someone you are comfortable around. But one of the silent killers of relationships is getting too comfortable. There comes a point where your significant other may get used to being in a relationship, so they no longer do all the things they did for you before the relationship began. Instead of growing together in the relationship, they begin taking your love and what you have to offer for granted. Here are five telltale signs you’re being taken for granted that you should talk to your partner about immediately.

1. You’re not a priority

Your significant other should want to spend time with you fairly often. Of course, they’ll probably have other priorities, but it can become problematic when you’re not high up on their priority list. If it’s been days and they’ve hung out with every friend they’ve ever had since third grade and not you, that should be a warning sign. Alaina*, a sophomore at Azusa Pacific University, says that her boyfriend prioritizing his friends over her led to problems. “If I asked if we could hang out, it was always brushed off to the side,” she says. “Every weekend, he would party with his friends, so being busy wasn’t an excuse. Even when I suggested things for us to do, he would rarely commit to anything. Hanging out was always centered around when it was convenient for him.”

Relationships don’t run on convenience. Neither of you committed to being in a relationship just to talk or be around each other when you’re bored. Even with hectic schedules, your partner should be making it known through actions and words that you are important to them.

2. They put no effort into date night

There’s probably not a soul on Earth who can’t find at least a little joy in Netflix. “Netflix and chill” can be a legitimate date, but if that’s all they’re willing to do, they probably have gotten too comfortable. Stephanie*, a junior at Stetson University, felt as if her boyfriend began taking her time for granted when he no longer put any effort into how they spent their time together. “Towards the beginning of our relationship, we would always go exploring—different museums, coffee shops, cafes, hiking trails, day trips and more,” she says. “Several months into the relationship, I found that all we did was lay in bed and watch TV and movies. It’s not like I didn’t enjoy his presence, but there’s a better way our time could’ve been spent.”

There may be people who will argue that their money is tight, so that’s the only thing to resort to. At this age, your significant other most likely isn’t expecting a date at a five star restaurant (although we wouldn’t complain if you’re toying with the idea). Honestly, it doesn’t take much to make someone’s day. A simple walk in the park, making dinner together or a stop by the Humane Society to play with some pups are inexpensive ways to connect with each other. A partner who isn’t even bothering to try to venture out of the realm of “Netflix and chill” is someone who is taking your time for granted.

3. They’re not appreciative

Doing things for someone can feel so rewarding when you know how much they appreciate what you’ve done. However, when you put forth effort for someone and all you’re met with is disinterest, it can be really damaging.

May*, a freshman at Reinhardt University, tried surprising her boyfriend after many hours put in at work. “Things seemed pretty flat in our relationship for a while, so I surprised my boyfriend with NBA tickets and dinner reservations,” she says. “His response didn’t even measure up to how hard I worked to try to make him happy. It really opened my eyes.”

Relationships involve sacrifice, whether that be with time, money or in other departments. If your partner isn’t taking into account all the hours you had to work to get them a little gift or the money you spent on them that could’ve been used on more groceries for the week, it’s time to step back and reevaluate. You shouldn’t have to beg or prod them for a genuine “thank you.” They should recognize your efforts and sacrifices on their own. It’s also time to think about if things are becoming one-sided. Don’t drain yourself trying to making someone else happy. There should be equal effort from both sides.

4. They don’t check up on you

Part of being in a relationship is having someone who cares about your mental wellbeing, what goes on in your life and your overall safety. However, for Maria*, a sophomore at University of South Carolina, her relationship of three years went sour when her boyfriend acted like he simply didn’t care enough to see how she was.

"I remember watching him as he waited for me to get inside safely each night," she says. "I thought he was so caring. Fast forward three years and it’s like he didn’t even care what was going in my life. I was accomplishing all of these great things at school and he couldn’t even ask ‘How are you?’ or ‘How has your day been?’"

Your significant other should be someone who is interested in what’s going on in your life, through your lows and highs. When they ask how you are, it gives you the opportunity to update them on your day and how life is treating you. If they all of the sudden have stopped asking, they’re taking your wellbeing for granted. Shouldn’t they at least want to know if you are safe and sound?

5. The romantic gestures disappear

Before you guys actually started dating, there was probably a lot of romantic effort put in from both sides to keep each other’s interest. Your significant other may stop doing what they did when they were “chasing” you because they finally have you. There comes a point when “I love you” isn’t spoken as frequently, compliments are nearly nonexistent and the romance simply disappears. Remember that this is not normal. No matter how long you guys have been together, keeping the spark alive in a relationship is what keeps it going.

Glenn*, a sophomore at Valdosta State University, admits to taking his girlfriend for granted. “You just develop a mindset that you’ve already got them and don’t have to keep trying as hard as you once did,” he says.

Being romantic shouldn’t be a burden on anyone. Understandably, not everyone is a diehard romantic, but they should not be so unromantic that you question if they still love and care about you.

If you realize that you might be taken for granted, speak up. Nobody is perfect, but let your significant other know how you’re feeling. Their reaction might tell you a lot about where you need to head in the relationship next. Ideally, they will listen to what you are saying and take action to fix their end of the relationship. Never let them belittle, invalidate or argue with you about your feelings. You are a gem so you should be treated like one every day.

12 Ways to Master Small Talk

This article has been syndicated to Her Campus from Eyeliner Wings & Pretty Things, an InfluenceHer Collective member. Read the full post here.

If there’s one thing you will be forced to take part in no matter what age you are, it’s small talk. Learn how to master small talk and you shall prosper. Well, probably. It takes two people to have a conversation (unless you’re talking to yourself), so remember you can only do so much when it comes to good conversation.

Lately, I’ve been preparing for a lot of small talk. Next weekend I’ll be attending a wedding as a plus-one date and a few weeks later I’ll be starting a new internship and meeting plenty of new people. Small talk is often dreaded, but it’s necessary and easy once you get the hang of it.

1. Make eye contact

Duh. If it’s a bit difficult to keep prolonged eye contact, you can also stare just above the other person’s eyes. If you’re a bit adverse to eye contact, at least avoid looking behind the person. It looks like you’re seeking someone better to talk to or looking for an escape.

2. Monitor your body language

Whether you’re sitting down or standing, your body should be angled towards the people you’re talking to. Ensure you’re not leaning your head on your hands, playing with your hair or anything of that sort. Body language conveys a message and if you’re playing with your hair and your body is angled towards the wall, it sends a bad message.

3. Expand on basic answers

Most people ask the same old questions. Don’t give the same old answers. Ensure your answers allow for further conversation rather than cutting them short. If you simply answer “Good” to the popular questions, you’re creating a conversational dead-end and a lot of room for awkward silences.

Twitter Is Absolutely Dragging Bow Wow After Someone Caught Him Lying About Flying Private

It appears that Bow Wow has forgotten there's no fooling the internet! If you haven't checked your timeline lately, then we'll get you up to speed. Allegedly, rapper Shad Moss, better known by his stage name "Bow Wow," tried to pull a fast one on his Instagram followers by posting a photo of a private jet, suggesting he was flying in style during a press tour for his new show Growing Up Hip Hop. He captioned the photo, "Travel day. NYC press run for Growing Up Hip Hop. Lets gooo. I promise to bring yall the hottest show EVER. May 25th on @wetv." Spoiler alert: Bow Wow was caught in a huge lie, and Twitter basically exploded with roasts

Naturally, someone was quick to pull out the receipts. One Twitter user shared a side-by-side post of the Instagram photo and a screenshot of a Snapchat by someone claiming that Bow Wow was on their flight to New York City rather than flying private.

Bow Wow certainly underestimated the power of the Twitterverse.

Parks & Recreation's Burt Macklin Is Prepared to Step in as FBI Director

On Tuesday, President Donald Trump fired FBI director James Comey. According to The New York Times, Trump will probably fill the position as early as the end of this week. Clearly, Trump must have someone in mind. I mean, look at this tweet.

But who's accomplished enough to fill those standard-issue FBI sunglasses? Obviously, the only person for the job is Parks and Recreation’s Burt Tyrannosaurus Macklin. You thought he was retired, but Macklin could never leave his country hanging in its time of need.

Early Wednesday morning, Chris Pratt, who played Burt on Parks and Rec, tweeted a GIF of his character demonstrating his FBI agent skills. We didn’t know he was the FBI director this country needed until now.

Although Macklin is a TV character played by a TV character who is played by Chris Pratt, anything could happen. After all, we did elect a celebrity as president, so why shouldn't we give a fictional FBI agent this job?

Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller Says She'll Pretend She's Shooting a Movie During Her Federal Prison Sentence

Former Dance Moms star Abby Lee Miller may have just been sentenced to federal prison, but she's not letting it bring her down

Miller was sentenced to one year and one day in federal prison after allegedly hiding $775,000 in income from bankruptcy creditors between 2012 and 2013, as well as transporting an unreported $120,000 of foreign currency from Australia into the United States in 2014. She was indicted on fraud charges in 2015 for hiding her income from the creditors and later plead guilty to the charge in 2016.

"A year and a day. Does that seem harsh?" ABC's Linsey Davis asked Miller of her sentence during an exclusive interview with Good Morning America.

“A year and a day… it sounds like a movie title,” said Miller.

Along with serving her sentence, Miller also has to pay $40,000 in fines and undergo two years of supervised release after serving her sentence, ABC News reports.

“I’m just going to pretend I’m shooting a movie and we’re on set and I’m there for 10 months, and that’s the way it’s going to be,” Miller told Davis. She also plans to spend her days in prison reading and learning to speak Spanish. Additionally, she revealed that she is already working on a new book. At the end of the day, Miller expressed that she's hoping to spend the next chapter of her life working on being a better businesswoman and worrying about herself.

Abby certainly has a positive outlook on her sentence. We hope that she can use this time to reflect and work toward bettering herself.

Ashley Graham is a world-renowned model and body activist who has graced the covers of fashion magazines like Vogue, Cosmopolitan, Elle, SELF, Sports Illustrated, and many more. She has given many speeches about body image, self-acceptance, and female empowerment—her most notable one being her TED Talk in 2015. Ashley Graham continues to advocate for body positivity through her new book, A New Model: What Confidence, Beauty, and Power Really Look Like, in which she opens up about sexual assault, the term "plus-size," and ways in which she practices body positivity.

I want to meet you all TONIGHT during my book signing at @bntribeca 97 Warren St. @6pm!!!

A post shared by A S H L E Y G R A H A M (@theashleygraham) on

In a phone interview with Vogue, Ashley talks about the sexual assault she faced at the young age of 10. “When you read it out loud, it’s even more powerful to talk about being sexually assaulted because women just don’t do it. It’s not a natural conversation you have with your girlfriends.” For Ashley, it’s important to be candid about her experiences because she wants to empower other women and let them know that they are not alone. “I think that the more vulnerable I was, the easier it was going to be for someone to relate to me. I’m not going to give the story half-assed–I’m going to give it to you full on.”

Along with her own experiences, Ashley Graham talks about the model industry’s misuse of the term "plus-sized" when referring to curvier models like herself. “I also feel like grouping women all together just because of a number inside their pants is so divisive”, she explains. She makes it a point to let others know that being a plus-sized model doesn't make her any less successful than any other model; being curvier is something that will never slow her down.

One way the successful model is able to remain body positive is through words of affirmation, and she encourages other women to do the same thing. In the interview with Vogue, she explains how difficult it was to end the cycle of thinking negatively towards herself. "When I came up with 'I am bold, I am brilliant I am beautiful,' I really liked how they were all three different. It was about my brains, it was about my beauty, and it was about being my true self, the boldness."

As if starring in the Chanel's Métiers d'Art collections, different makeup campaigns and in the current Gabrielle bag ads wasn't enough, Stewart will be the face for the latest fragrance. She'll be working with director Ringan Ledwidge for the campaign film and with photographer Karim Sadli for the campaign photos.

Anderson Cooper Rolled His Eyes at Kellyanne Conway & The Internet Can't Handle It

In life, there are very few moments when you find yourself saying "the internet has officially peaked." For me, it happened after Rihanna's first met gala dress went viral, after Ivanka Trump accidentally favorited a tweet about how much she hates her husband, and more recently after Anderson Cooper publicly ROLLED HIS EYES at Kellyanne Conway on live tv. The latter literally just happened and it is the greatest thing to ever happen to the internet.

On Tuesday night, Cooper was joined by Conway on CNN to discuss the recent firing of the Director of the FBI and as you can imagine, Cooper was not having ~any~ of what Conway was saying. At one point, he was just so over her that he literally turned into the eye roll emoji. And guess what, it was fantastic.

Since this monumental gif found it's way onto the internet, folks on Twitter have been having a field day, with good reason.

Thank you, Anderson, you are truly a gem.

Prepare to Be Obsessed With Glossier's New Game-Changing Sunscreen

If you are a beauty lover then you have probably heard of Glossier. Based in New York, Glossier is a company that specializes in making your skin look beautiful not by covering up, but by enhancing what you already have. More importantly, they are the experts in making your skin look dewy, glowy, and just kinda perfect, tbh.

Now, after successfully diving into the world of lipsticks, highlighters, and even face masks, Glossier is going one step further by creating an everyday sunscreen that is unlike anything else out there. According to their press release, Glossier's new Invisible Shield is an every day "sunscreen for people who hate wearing sunscreen." What makes this product different from other sun products on the market is that it is a clear water gel formula filled with active microcapsules that "instantly absorbs into skin with no greasy residue and zero white cast." Sounds almost too good to be true, right? Wrong.

Guys... the new @glossier sunscreen is the real deal. Get it now before it sells out!

A post shared by Isabel Lara Calkins (@isabelcalkins) on

After getting to use the product for myself, I can safely say that it truly is invisible once applied, hence the name Invisible Shield. In fact, when applying it, it goes onto the skin more like a serum than a sunscreen. This is possible because it is made with "active microcapsules, which are tiny spheres packed with UVA and UVB filters; water — there's no alcohol or greasy ingredients in this formula; an antioxidant complex made with a mix of Vitamin E, Vitamin P, Broccoli, and Aloe Leaf extracts that helps neutralize free radicals inside skin."

Glossier also notes that the sunscreen "not only protects against sun exposure, but also helps neutralize harmful free radicals inside your skin, and keeps pollutant junk from getting in in the first place." So basically, it's gonna revolutionize your summer morning routine and the packaging is cute AF. Win, win, right?

If you want to try it for yourselves, you can find it on Glossier’s site for $34 and at their showroom in New York City.

7 Summer Double Dates To Go On

Double dates are a great way to have fun with other couples, meet new people and set up a less intense playing field if you’re just getting interested in someone. Regardless, you know (and hopefully enjoy) someone in the group, so you’ll have their company to fall back on. If you’re going on a double date with someone you don’t know for a friend, it’s the perfect opportunity to play wingwoman. Having others around takes off some of the pressure, and you will probably have even more fun with a group!

We’ve compiled a list of several go-to double date ideas that are tried and true, as well as some that are a little out there to spice things up! Read on for some great ideas for your next date.

1. Brunch

Everyone (especially millennials) loves brunch. You have the best of all possible worlds — breakfast/lunch food and even alcohol! It’s an energetic environment that forces everyone to act casual and get to know each other.

"I recently went on a double date for brunch and we ended up staying at the restaurant for four hours!” says Autumn Dube, a senior at Emmanuel College. Brunch is easy because it doesn’t have to be that long, but if things are going well, it’s a great opportunity to extend the date, especially since it’s early in the day!

“Our server loved us and we had the best time sharing stories and trying different tapas,” says Autumn. “We ended up staying so long that our server's shift was over and she took rounds of shots with us at the table after. It's definitely a memory I'm happy to have." See? Four is a party!

2. Amusement park or carnival

There’s no way an amusement park date can be boring, even if the person you’re paired up with is. There are tons of activities, from rides to games to park food, so if you’re up for a full day, go for it!

Everyone can let out their inner kid at an amusement park, and you’ll get to see if your date is an adrenaline junkie or on the calmer side. There’s a lot you can tell if a person picks the highest-climbing roller coaster there or the easygoing train ride.

Make this double date-friendly by planning a scavenger hunt in the amusement park or carnival. Each couple has to take a piece of a character’s costume, get a picture with someone doing flame tricks, etc.

3. Trivia and other bar games

Bar games are the perfect activity for competitive bonding, and you’ll also get to see your date’s true nature come out when they’re trying to win!

Set up a trivia night or a board game tournament at a local bar, movie theater or at someone’s house or apartment for easygoing fun. Some venues might even have themes — time to whip out that 70s outfit you’ve been putting together forever.

“My best friend from home really wants to set up a double date to Dave & Busters after I turn 21!” says Amanda Goecke, a junior at Carthage College. “Both of our boyfriends are really into video games, and we thought it’d be fun for them to bond over games while we enjoyed drinks.”

Teaming up for games like trivia, pool or other board games that a bar or restaurant might set up is a great test of your compatibility and chemistry with your date, and will give you a good idea of their interests and passions, too. Set up a competition against the other couple you’re out with to really make things interesting! May the best couple win.

4. Picnic

Picnics are adorable. It’s that simple. And no one ever goes on them anymore — you’ll get major originality points. This is a great summer idea, and there’s probably fun events going on at your local parks — cookouts, movie screenings, concerts and more await!

You can also spread out some of the work among a larger group of people. Give everyone an item to bring (food, music, games) so that not one person has to do all the work or coordination.

Consider encouraging people to bring a meaningful dish (an old family recipe, their favorite prepared dish from a local deli) that will get the conversation going among the larger group. You can get a chance to see if your date is any good in the kitchen and demonstrate your skills, too!

5. Mini golf or bowling

These are first date classics. They’re low stakes (unless someone gets aggressively competitive) and shouldn’t be too expensive either. Pretty much anything where teaming up against another couple can happen (lasertag, paintball, etc.) is a good move!

“Four people is enough for a good time, but not too much that it’s crowding the course,” says Jasmine Yadeta, a junior at the University of Victoria. “Also offers a lot of opportunity for flirting, getting a little competitive. Basically the perfect recipe for an amazing time.”

If you’d rather stay in, consider testing your skills at a video game tournament between the two couples. Setting up is easy, just get snacks and your or your date’s favorite games and you’re set.

6. Rollerblading

We know, we know, this is old school (and hard!). But rollerblading, particularly if you or your date isn’t good at it, is a great opportunity for bonding. A plus is having one of those movie-esque moments where one of you holds the other from behind while showing them the correct technique! *wink wink*

You can also set up a race — consider an obstacle course if you’re feeling adventurous — with the other couple on the date. Losers have to take the other couple out to dinner! It works perfectly.

Rollerblading on a date inevitably gives you something to talk about, be it your lack of skill or your memories of the sport if it’s something you have experience with. You also have a built-in getaway plan if necessary — just blade away and leave the date behind.

7. Restaurant or bar crawl

Obviously going out to eat is standard fare (pun!) for couples’ outings, but adding another pair to the mix makes things more exciting. The conversation will be inevitably more interesting just because you’ll have more to talk about, and the group size will hopefully mitigate any potential awkwardness.

This is another one that might require a little bit more of a time investment than a traditional date, so keep that in mind. That aside, picking out a whole slew of bars is a creative, original way to have a really fun time. Check out some new and fun spots in your local neighborhood, but don’t forget to work in some of your favorite classics.

With this option, you also don’t have to worry about meeting everyone’s food and drink needs or preferences—you can knock them all out! Plus, everyone knows that food is another ultimate bonding tool.

Even if it’s not the best time, don’t give up on the double date. After all, Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds’ first romantic rendezvous was a double date—and they weren’t even set up with each other!

Double dates are the perfect way to change things up if you’re in a steady relationship with someone or to give things a test run if your crush is still developing. They’ll also undoubtedly leave you with great stories and laughs to share. Share your double date ideas and stories with us in the comments or on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram!
