0
0

Stitch Fix is a great personal styling service that sends you clothing based on your style and budget—and get this, they're expanding their offer to include tons of plus-size options from over 90 designers. Starting February 27, your subscription to the service will include this awesome addition, and there's ALREADY a waitlist.

Katrina Lake, the founder and CEO of this amazing company, explained why she chose to add more body inclusive clothing to the subscription service, saying “while it is very rewarding to be in the business of helping women and men look and feel their best, Stitch Fix’s offering felt incomplete without being able to serve a more comprehensive range of women’s sizes."

So how does Stitch Fix work? First, you take a personal quiz that helps determine your style, and then all you have to do is wait for a box to arrive at your door, containing clothing and accesories personally picked for you! Basically magic. Whatever you don't like, you send back—shipping is totally covered!

Stitch Fix is definitely going in the right direction when it comes to becoming more inclusive as a brand. We should be able to dress how they want no matter our size.

5 Things About Wes's Killer on 'HTGAWM' That Don't Make Sense

0
0

First I waited nine episodes to find out who was under the sheet. Then another six to discover who killed Wes. And still, Season 3 of How to Get Away with Murder ended with more questions than answers, especially when it comes to the details surrounding Wes’s death.

We learned in the final minutes of last night’s finale that Laurel’s father is responsible for offing her BF and baby daddy, with the help of family friend Dominic, who did the actual killing. But WHY??

Here are five things about that killer reveal that don’t make sense.

1. Why did Laurel’s dad want to kill Wes?

Last I saw Mr. Castillo, he was more concerned about Laurel’s interest in Frank. And since Laurel and Wes were together for all of five minutes before he was murdered, it’s hard to believe Laurel’s dad found time to form a grudge against the puppy.

Maybe he ordered Dominic to kill Frank and Dom (can I call you Dom?) got it wrong.

2. How involved is D.A. Denver?

The first half of the two-hour season finale had us believing Denver was to blame for everything—Wes’s death, framing Annalise. He even met with Dominic to get Wes’s phone so he could use it to implicate Connor in Wes’s murder. We know he’s wanted to take Annalise down ever since Sinclair’s murder, but just how deep does his involvement go?

3. Are the Mahoneys in on it at all?

Sure, the Mahoneys had plenty of reasons to want Wes dead. And the show tried to make us think they were responsible. But when all was said and done, I can’t think of a single shred of evidence that actually pointed to them. So were they a distraction? Or are they connected to the murder after all?

4. Why would Laurel’s dad want to pin everything on Annalise?

We know why Denver wanted to convict Annalise, but Laurel’s father seemed to be aiding him—from the affidavit that discredited Laurel to turning over Wes’s phone. What’s his motive here?

5. Who tf is Dominic?

Don’t get me wrong, I love Nicholas Gonzalez. But I need WAY more information about Dominic than just “family friend.” This guy was willing to kill Wes on orders from Laurel’s father. He’s obviously more than the kind of family friend you see once a year at Christmas.

Welp, I'll be scratching my head until HTGAWM returns in the fall. In the meantime, let me know if you have any legitimate answers to my infinite questions.

This Billboard Insinuates That 'Real Women' Don't Want Gender Equality

A controversial billboard in North Carolina is being called an insult to gender equality.

As reported by the Associated Press, the billboard says, “Real men provide. Real women appreciate it.” It's located on a busy highway between Winston-Salem and Greensboro.

In response, women in the area are planning a peaceful protest this weekend. The organizer of the event, boutique owner Molly Grace, says the protest isn’t against the billboard itself but the message it sends, according to CNN. “We are not protesting the right to have a billboard or express a message on it,” Grace said. “This is only a protest against the type of thinking that creates a message like that."

Grace created a Facebook event to organize the protest, which will take place Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. CNN reports that the protest was originally planned to be held directly under the billboard, but is being moved to Merschel Plaza due to safety concerns.

“We are protesting the implied demand that women be silent and appreciate, regardless of whatever circumstances, their role as non-providers,” Grace wrote in a post on the event page. She told CNN that the protest was also against the idea that women should “shut up and smile and be grateful for what this man does for you.” On Facebook, over 100 people have said that they are going to the event.

People took to Twitter to respond and correct what they also feel is a sexist message.

One woman even used the situation to make a not-so-subtle jab at President Trump.

So who is behind the billboard message? It's currently a mystery. The Associated Press reported that the billboard belongs to Whiteheart Outdoor Advertising, but the organization that rented the sign for 30 days didn't want to be identified. “We’re not supportive of or in opposition to the message,” Bill Whiteheart said. “We’re just the messenger.”

Stay tuned—Whiteheart told the Triad City Beat that the organization who bought the billboard space will have an "annoucement in the future".

Justin Bieber Tweeted About His 'Dick Area' Because No, He Did Not Pee His Pants

Well, this is something we never thought we needed in life. After being caught by the paparazzi with a wet mark on his sweatpants, Justin Bieber explained the photo to fans with a reference to his “dick area,” Cosmopolitan reports.

According to the Biebs' Twitter clarification, the water from some flowers spilled on…that area when he was driving.

Beliebers haven't found Justin's story too convincing, with one fan even starting a Twitter poll asking people if they believed his explanation.

Honestly, we're fine with Justin's version of the dirty details because who really wants to be thinking about his “area” any more than we already have? Props to Justin for laughing it off, but we're still a little too scarred from this to laugh along just yet.

Lauren Conrad Knows the Sex of Her Baby, But She's Not Telling

Lauren Conrad rang in 2017 in the best way possible by publicly announcing her first pregnancy on New Year’s Day. While she has hinted at possible baby names on her website, our favorite Hills girl is still keeping quiet about whether she’s expecting a boy or a girl, Refinery29 reports.

In an interview with E! News, Lauren shared that she’s prepping for the baby by buying “so much stuff. It’s all clothes.” Given LC’s history with fashion, such as her long-running clothing lines at Kohl’s, this baby is definitely well on its way to being the best-dressed infant out there.

Don’t expect the mama-to-be to round up all gender-neutral clothing either—Lauren admitted in the interview that she and husband William Tell know the sex of the baby, though she didn't share. Seeing as Lauren and her old castmates definitely know how to keep a secret (remember The Hills finale?), we’re not counting on any hints about the gender until this baby actually arrives. For now, we'll settle for Lauren's fashion-forward Instagram posts

Arizona is Moving On with Minnick, & I'm Not Sure How I Feel About It

0
0

Ever since Dr. Minnick was introduced on Grey's Anatomy, none of the characters have been the biggest fan of her—me neither. When she initally started flirting with Arizona, I immediately knew she was going to be a love interest for Arizona to move on from her former partner Callie with.

When Arizona and Callie fell in love, I couldn't see them with anyone else, especially for their daughter Sophia's sake. I definitely think that Arizona and Callie are meant for each other, especially after all they went through last season with the battle for custody of Sophia.

Since Callie left to be with Penny, it's broken my heart that Arizona can't be with her. They were one of my favorite couples—two power women in charge of their departments in the hospital. Not only were they boss ass women, but they were great parents to Sophia and always put her first.

Even though I'm still mad Callie left (so happy she didn't "die"), I can understand why it happened. I think Shonda used Sara Ramirez's departure to make it known that not all couples work out, even after you fight so hard for it to work. Some people just aren't meant to be together, and by introducing Minnick, it shows that Arizona doesn't have to dwell on what happened between her and Callie.

While I believe that Arizona and Callie are totally meant to be together, I am willing to open my mind up to the possibility of Arizona and Minnick. It's the same thing that happened with killing off Derek and Meredith moving on with Riggs. Even though everyone hated it and couldn't see her with anyone but Derek, Shonda needed to show the world that Meredith had to push through and move on from this tragedy. Isn't that the lesson of life—to move on from the hard times, go forward and focus on the positives?

Even though I'm still trying to accept the idea of Arizona and Minnick, I probably will never like it since Callie and Arizona are supossed to be together. But who knows, I hope Shonda has some tricks up her sleeve and brings Callie back later in the series' run. Anything is possible at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital.

Kat Von D Just Perfectly Described Life in Trump's America

Vegan tattoo artist and makeup guru Katherine von Drachenberg, also known as Kat Von D, owns one of the biggest makeup brands in the world. It is safe to say that KVD is awesome! In a recent Instagram post, she shared a video of herself relaxing with her three cats under a blanket that matches her nail polish, near a fireplace. But her caption was what caught my attention, as she perfectly described life in Trump’s America. She wrote, “What more could I ever ask for? Well, aside from a president who doesn't deny climate change, set women's rights back a century and promote bigotry amongst many other horrors. Other than that, life is perfect.” She basically described my exact feelings. You take a moment to appreciate life, then you remember that you have a president who is trying to take all your rights away and erase all the progress brought about by previous administrations.

Can we take a moment to talk about the room though? It's so KVD! The candles in front of the vintage fireplace. UGH! Also a good thing that isn't Trump.

Laverne Cox Shut Down an Anti-Trans Activist on MSNBC, & It Was Downright Inspirational

0

During last night's episode of Hardball on MSNBC, actress Laverne Cox completely shut down anti-trans activist Travis Weber.

In the segment, Laverne spoke to host Chris Matthews about Gavin Grimm, a transgender teen from Virginia who has been fighting to use the bathroom for the gender he identifies with.

"I think it's important, again, to elevate the lived experiences of trans people," Laverne explained. "The reality is that trans people have been using the bathroom for many years without incident."

Matthews then proceeded to ask Weber who exactly would be harmed if students were allowed to use the bathroom they identify with, and his answer was definitely controversial.

"I think we all understand what the harm is…when you have a 14-year-old girl in the locker room, someone comes in with male genitalia to their locker room, of course they're gonna be harmed," Travis said. "Their rights are not being protected here, and all I'm asking for is a reasonable discussion considering their rights. Let these localities decide the issue. That's what we can currently do right now. President Obama was the one that was gonna mandate this on everyone. Now, localities can decide the issue, and it's not as clear-cut under Title IX. Title IX is for sex discrimination."

Once Laverne heard this, she gave the most brilliant response of all time.

"I think it's important, when we have conversations with and about transgender people, that we do not reduce us to body parts," she said. "We are more than the sum of our parts, and it's so deeply objectifying and dehumanizing to talk about trans people and reduce us to body parts. That is really disturbing."

Laverne continued, "And we need to look at the evidence. We need to look at all the hundreds of localities all over the country that have public accommodations protections, and that's really what we're talking about for trans people. And everything that he's claiming happens actually doesn't happen. Instead, trans people feel as if they have a right to exist in society. My transition was about me existing in public space and thriving in society. And because I was able to do that, I've been able to thrive. That's all we want."

I am speechless. Laverne, you are amazing.

This Kansas Man Allegedly Yelled 'Get Out of My Country' Before Shooting Three People

51-year-old Kansas man Adam Purinton has been charged with murder after a shooting that killed one man and left two others wounded, NPR reports.

The shooting took place inside a crowded Kansas City bar. Minutes before the shooting, Purinton reportedly yelled“get out of my country.” According to The New York Times, a bartender at the restaurant where Purinton was later captured said he heard him say that he had killed two Middle Eastern men.

Two Indian, not Middle Eastern, engineers were shot—Srinivas Kuchibhotla and Alok Madasani, who both worked at Garmin. Another American man, Ian Grillot, was also injured in the shooting—his family said he was trying to stand up for the victims, as reported by BuzzFeed News.

Kuchibhotla, 32, died at the hospital, the Kansas City Star reported. Madasani was released from the hospital, the same one that Grillot is still recovering at, on Thursday. A GoFundMe page has been created to help the victims and has already raised over $420,000. “Srini was the kindest person you would meet, full of love, care and compassion for everyone,” wrote his family. “He never uttered a word of hatred, a simple gossip, or a careless comment. He was brilliant, well mannered and simply an outstanding human being.” Funds have also been set up to cover Madasani’s and Grillot's medical bills.

NPR reported that the FBI and U.S. Attorney’s Office have joined the investigation as they collectively work to decide if the shooting was a hate crime. “It was a tragic and senseless act of violence,” Olathe Police Chief Steven Menke told the Kansas City Star.

According to BuzzFeed News, Purinton was taken into custody and has been charged with first-degree murder and two counts of attempted first-degree murder.

Uber CEO Meets with Women Engineers to Discuss 'Systemic Problem' of Sexual Harassment & Sexism

0
0

Uber CEO Travis Kalanick met with a group of over 100 female Uber engineers on Thursday to discuss allegations of sexism and sexual harassment against the company, according to BuzzFeed News

This meeting comes after former Uber employee Susan Fowler's blog post on Sunday, which discussed how the company ignored her sexual harassment reports. According to The New York Times, it wasn't the first instance of sexual harassment at the company—an Uber manager allegedly groped a female employee’s breasts at a company retreat. Fowler also brought to light in her blog several more cases in which women have been treated in a similar fashion.

The meeting with Kalanick lasted over an hour. “I think that we should kind of address the elephant in the room," one of the engineers told Kalanick, "which is that everyone who’s in these rooms now…believes that there is a systemic problem here. We wouldn’t be here if we didn’t."

“I think it starts with listening to your own people. And I think that over the past several years if we had already been listening to our people we would already believe this systemic problem was here," said another engineer.

After commenting "fair enough" to the group of engineers and the problems they brought up, Kalanick finally expanded on his position. “There are people in this room who have experienced things that are incredibly unjust. I want to root out the injustice. I want to get at the people who are making this place a bad place. And you have my commitment.”

Kalanick also discussed what he'd like to do about the issue. "I understand that this is bigger than the Susan situation and I want you to know that I’m all about rooting this out and being very aggressive about that, while also being supportive and empathetic and trying to build that support and empathy throughout the organization…It’s a little bit emotional for me and I’m sorry. I’m sure it's emotional for some of you too.”

For the sake of all the women working at Uber and who will work for the company in the future, here's hoping he fulfills that promise.

4 Clothing Brands That Benefit Trans Rights Organizations

0
0

It hasn’t been a good week for American transgender people, and the current political climate calls for even more reason to support organizations that work to benefit the trans community. What better way to do your part than support human rights through one of our favorite activities, shopping?

Whether you’re shopping for yourself or to show love for a friend or family member, these clothing companies donate part of their proceeds to organizations that benefit trans youth. Many of these companies produce stock based on customer demand, so keep an eye out for restocks!

1. TransAction Clothing

Who doesn’t love a comfy t-shirt to lounge around in? TransAction Clothing’s Instagram displays a wide selection of its “Protect Trans Youth” shirts, but its website also offers sweatshirts and stickers with the same message on them. The company aims to spread awareness about transgender issues and donates proceeds to trans-friendly organizations and individual surgeries. This week, all proceeds are being donated to the San Diego Trans Youth Project.

2. Gender Is Over

Inspired by John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s “War Is Over (If You Want It)” campaign, Gender Is Over runs the mission of validating any and everyone’s “chosen gender identities” because “gendered violence and gender inequality are real and pressing issues.” The company produces sweatshirts and tanks whose proceeds go to organizations like Trans Lifeline and FIERCE, according to BuzzFeed

3. Trans Is Beautiful Apparel

Designing tanks promoting the beauty of transgender bodies, this brand takes its cue from Laverne Cox’s own hashtag. Buying a tank will donate money to Werk Those Pecs, which aims to help trans people afford pricey surgeries and even just make enough for a living. This shirt design is perfect if you (or a loved one) want everyone to know that you are proud of who you are, no matter what.

4. Point 5cc

Offering t-shirts, snapbacks, beanies and even pendants, Point 5cc links its purchases with the non-profit Point of Pride, which also helps fund transgender surgeries. The company’s clothing is also discreet in that anyone, including those who may not have come out yet or don’t feel safe in their environments, can still feel supportive by wearing these items.

Kellyanne Conway Says Being a Feminist Means Being Pro-Abortion & Anti-Male

0
0

Kellyanne Conway is once again stirring controversy—this time with what she believes it really means to be a feminist. Conway said she doesn’t consider herself a feminist because she thinks the word is associated with being “pro-abortion” and “anti-male.”

The Washington Postreports that Conway made these comments during an onstage conversation with conservative commentator Mercedes Schlapp at the Conservative Political Action Conference at National Harbor in Maryland.

“It’s difficult for me to call myself a feminist in a classic sense because it seems to be very anti-male, and it certainly is very pro-abortion, and I’m neither anti-male or pro-abortion,” Conway said. “So, there’s an individual feminism, if you will, that you make your own choices…I look at myself as a product of my choices, not a victim of my circumstances.”

At the same conference, she also praised Trump for hiring and promoting women and encouraged women to run for president. "The job for first female president of the United States remains open, so go for it," said Conway.

She also used the country’s women’s marches against Trump as an example of women having a problem with power. “One thing that’s been a little disappointing and revealing, that I hope will get better, is it turns out a lot of women just have a problem with women and power,” Conway said. “This whole sisterhood, this whole ‘Let’s go march for women’s rights,’ just constantly talking about what women look like or what women wear or making fun of their choices or presuming that they’re not as powerful as the men around, this presumptive negativity about women and power I think is very unfortunate."

Merriam-Webster Dictionary quickly took to Twitter to correct Conway’s misinterpretation of the term “feminism.”

Conway was the first woman to ever run a successful presidential campaign in the U.S. and now serves as counselor to President Trump. This is certainly not the first time she has made controversial comments, and it likely won't be the last.

A Study Shows That Straight Women Have Less Orgasms Than Anyone Else

0
0

According to a new study, straight women are the least likely to orgasm during sex than any other group (how unsurprising)—this includes straight men, gay men, lesbians and bisexual men and women.

The study, conducted by Indiana University, Chapman University and Claremont Graduate University, showed that the proportion of straight women who usually orgasmed was only 65 percent, compared to 95 percent of straight men and 86 percent of lesbian women, BBCreported.

"There's been a lot of research on orgasm frequency, but there isn't very much data that includes how both gender and sexual orientation relate to orgasm frequency," lead author of the report David A. Frederick, assistant professor of psychology at Chapman University, toldThe Chicago Tribune.

But there's hope in closing this gap—the report analyzed different methods effective in reducing the orgasm gap and increasing frequency of orgasms. For instance, the study found that communication during intimacy can be key. Receiving oral sex and other forms of stimulation accompanied with sex can also help increase the frequency of how often you orgasm, as reported by The Chicago Tribune

Basically, being comfortable with your body and willing to speak up on what you want will increase your chances of orgasming. Everyone deserves climaxing, so definitely don’t be afraid to ask for what you want and take the necessary steps to have better sexual experiences in the future.

This Beauty Trend That Looks Like You Just Made Out With Someone's Face Is So Fucking Weird

0
0

I swear, every time I find a beauty trend that's weird AF, someone decides to come up with an even weirder one. Like seriously, who are these people and why do they have so much time on their hands? For example, this latest beauty trend is called "snogged lips."

Yes, "snogged lips"are exactly what they sound/look like. It's supposed to look like someone shoved their tongue in your face right after you applied lipstick, and they didn't care to notify you that lipstick is all over your face before you walked outside. This look definitely falls into the category of "slept-in makeup" and allegedly celebrates the girls who don't give a fuck about what they did last night. It's definitely not for the neutral-makeup kind of girl, and it's less of a trend and more of a #beautyfail, if you ask me.

I specifically purchase lipstick based on its ability to withstand a makeout sesh. Seriously—nothing lasts forever, but if it comes off after a few minutes of "snogging," then it's a no-go for me (and also for my boyfriend, who doesn't appreciate having his own #snoggedlips). The only upside to this is that now if this happens to you by accident, you can tell the haters that this is a forward-thinking beauty trend and still (kind of) hold your head high. Would you ever try this beauty trend?

Just When You Thought You'd Seen It All, Kanye West Is Officially Creating a Makeup Line

0
0

Donald Trump is president, so I figured we've seen just about everything, right? Wrong—because Kanye announced recently that he's officially creating a makeup line. Say what?!?!

According to a report from TMZ, Kanye has officially filed legal documents showing his intent to move forward with the creation of the DONDA cosmetic line, named after his late mother, who passed away in 2007. Which is very adorable and honestly kind of unexpected, but I'm loving this new information. I'm also extremely interested to see what this makeup line will look like, as Yeezy isn't exactly a person I look to for makeup knowledge. But he can do just about anything, so I'm sure he'll manage to figure it out.

The only foreseeable problem with this new makeup line? The competition from his sister-in-law, Kylie, of course. She pretty much dominates the game, especially when it comes to lip products, so this new brand could potentially cause some family feuds. I'm looking forward to future KUWTK episodes about this.

DONDA will include makeup, fragrances, lotions, and other cosmetics. Although there are no details about the brand yet, we can use our imagination and assume that these will not be any ordinary eyeshadows and perfumes. There's also no word on when we can expect to see these products hit the shelves, so keep your eyes peeled for more deets.

May Yeezus bless your day:

This Brand Made Frappuccino Bath Bombs a Thing & They're Just as Cute as They Sound

We're not afraid to own up to being basic AF - which is probably a good thing, because this company just created what is possibly the most basic of all beauty products, and we're not ashamed to admit we want one (or several) in our lives ASAP.

Shea Shea La Bomb, an Etsy shop featuring "handmade artisan bath products," just combined two of our favorite things, Starbucks frappuccinos and bath bombs, into one: a frappuccino bath bomb. As in, these adorable little things look exactly like the real thing, complete with Starbucks logos and tiny green straws coming out of their faux whipped cream tops. Basically, they look good enough to eat, except that you probably shouldn't.

Back during the holidays, there was even a peppermint red cup-inspired version, because, of course.

Unfortunate truth bomb (ha) though: it's looking like the frappuccino bath bombs are currently sold out on Shea Shea La Bomb's Etsy page, and according to Cosmopolitan, the company hasn't provided any updates on when they'll be restocked - but before you despair (because, same) one of Shea Shea La Bomb's other super sweet dessert-esque products just might hold you over until the frapps are back.

Yes, Shea Shea La Bomb makes doughnuts, cupcakes and even ice cream cones that you can drop into your bath. Need we say more?

Rihanna Has Been Named Harvard University's Humanitarian of the Year

Music goddess, fashion queen, the actual best part of the 2017 Grammys - is there anything Rihanna can't do? It turns out the answer is no - she can also officially add award-winning philanthropist to her resume too.

According to People, Rihanna has been named the 2017 Harvard University Humanitarian of the Year for her work in her home country Barbados and in Malawi.

"Rihanna has charitably built a state-of-the-art center for oncology and nuclear medicine to diagnose and treat breast cancer at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Bridgetown, Barbados," S. Allen Counter, the Harvard Foundation's director told the Harvard Gazette.

RiRi also founded the Clara Lionel Foundation, which works to improve health, education, arts and culture around the world, and awards scholarships to students from Caribbean countries studying at U.S. colleges. She's also traveled to Malawi to promote education and is the ambassador for Global Citizen, which provides children in developing countries access to education - so clearly, the award is well-deserved.

Rihanna will accept her honor next Tuesday in Boston - and considering it's previously been given to Malala Yousafzai and Arthur Ashe, she'll be in good company.

Obama Was Spotted in NYC Today & the Internet is Very Much Here for It

His vacay may be over, but Barack Obama is still continuing to live his best life.

The former-POTUS was spotted leaving a meeting on Fifth Avenue in New York City today, causing bystanders and basically all of the Internet to collectively lose it. In the video footage, Obama can be seen waving to crowds tie-less, iced coffee in hand - he may be back from vacation, but he's clearly doing just fine. The video only catches a glimpse of him for a few seconds, but we're still so here for it.

While it's unlikely that he's returned to save us from the current political situation (bummer), we're guessing he was in town to visit Malia, who is living in New York while interning at the Weinstein Company - and our suspicions are all but confirmed by an Insta posted by NYC restaurant Emilio's Ballato, photographic proof of Malia and her dad having dinner together.

Meanwhile, these tweets basically summed up all our feelings about this very valuable Obama sighting:

DAD! Please come back soon.
